lolpigs I'm so sorry you both had a bad night :( How is she today?
Danni - don't stress about your check up. Some people had suggested I change to a different clinic because of all the guilt ttrips the nurse gave me last time. I purposely went there as I didn't have much choice in the situation and why should
I feel bad? I went in there confident with what happened and was willing to stick up for myself if need be. I feel for first time mums who listen to their guilt trips without knowing it isn't their faults!

Abby was pretty unsettled last night, she woke at 10.30 and wouldn't go back to sleep until 2am then was back up at 5.30am for another feed. I think the problem was she slept too well yesterday and i should have tried waking her a bit more during the day for some wake time during the day, then she overfed on her 1am bottle and puked all over me - that was the first spew she's had and come up with a fair bit of force so i'll try and keep an eye on her volume intake i think.
-
Levi slept for 4 hours last night. Poor hubby stayed up with him because he knows I would fall asleep and then freak out if I fell asleep with him in my arms hubby's catching up on sleep now.
Levi is having a 2 hour awake period in the afternoons so I'm hoping that will tire him out some more. He's been laying on the floor taking to himself for 30 mins now lol. While hubby has a nap (took leave to come home for the sleep lol).
Hubby offered Levi a bottle last night and he only took 10mils.

Danni Jess has a vomit every now and then. It usually happens when she has a pocket of gas coming up and catapulting the milk out with it. I was worried about having too much milk but she seems to be handling it. I asked the nurse yesterday and she said they can have more than the 5 feeds than it says on the tin at this age. She takes between 90 mls to whole 140 ml bottle depending on feed. She has 7 feeds a day.
AM those 4 hour nights are the pits. I am tryingto go to bed at 9 to get in an extra hour or two to get at least 5-6 hours sleep. I find if I am sleepy I read a book while settling or watch tv. It takes the edge off the boredom too lol. DH gives me a break on the weekend.

Mollie & Lolpigs, sounds like our MILs are the same hey!! - yeah, i definitey dont answer when i see my MIL calling! infact i dont even like checking the voicemails she leaves!!! Mollie, good work having a girl after her stupid comment about her family only having boys! what a dumb thing for her to say!!!!!!! and Lolpigs, ugh @ the comment about "our baby" - good on you saying saying ''who's?" in return!!!! thats just like the stupid comment from my MIL saying "comngrats on thre birth of MY grandaughter" instead of saying "your daughter" ugh! my MIL told me she thought i was a 'princess' the first time she met me cos i made a comment at a restaurant about not being able to handle really spicey food.... i was like umm rude!!!!! and she came to our house once and rearranged my kitchen cabinets as if id done it wrong... and always makes stupid rude comments like she knows best about everything.. uuuhh, im SO glad she lives in another state... by the way, she currently intends to come visit us next weekend and keeps pesterimg DH to be able to stay with us! i said no way, his dad is staying with us this weekend which i wasnt thrilled about while trying to establish a routine with breastfeeding etc and still recovering etc, but his dad is really nice so it doesnt bother me heaps - but i couldnt handle it if she stayed! DH is like, wel how do i tell her that she cant stay? im like um, well its kinda rude for her to expect she can stay anyway so just say we need our space as a new family trying to adjust etc.. ugh. he still hasnt called her back, and it sucks cos she will know its my doing, cos when she asked, he was like, 'ill check with amanda' - grrr.
Jan, good advice re the allergies!! ill make sure i check about egg first and see if it causes a reation before i try nuts.. its so worrying thinking of allergies cos its such a scary thought testing out something for the first time and sudenly finding they have some kind of terrible reaction!!
Lolpigs, aww sorry to hear you had another bad night!! Hope the pead can help.. you poor thing, i can imagine how upsetting that would be... *hugs*
Ã* got projectile vomited on thismorning - it was very forceful!
-
Lolpigs  Sucks about the bad night! I hope the paed can do something for little lilly :)
Amanda I cant believe how alike our MIL's are... Im sure if they met they would be the best of friends. DH got into an arguement with his mum before Aubree was born because her and FIL wanted to stay with us and DH said no, and she was like "oh so FIL and I cant come see you when the baby is born" and DH was like "I didnt say that, I said that you couldnt stay with us" and then she got on the phone to me and said how hurt she was because of what DH had said, and she was like so we can stay with you.. My answer.. NO! Dont worry my MIL hates me, Im pretty sure she thought I was worse then a princess when she first met me.. I cant believe I have to go spend a week and half down there with them! ARGH!
Jan Glad your app went well :)
Well first day kinda by myself..(good thing we had a half decent night last night - 8:30pm-1:30am) My mum and nana came round to keep me company :) But it went well DH went off to work at 7:30, and the morning went really well.. Fingers crossed tomorrow goes as smoothly.. DH got a lovely present when he got home from work - a Number 3.... Poop everywhere lol.

Thanks guys, today was a little better, pead gave her Losec to try and help her. Said that should show improvement in a week if it is going to help. He said he thinks is colic not reflux but we shall see how the meds go. He said it is hard to say as she isn't presenting with the pathalogical symptoms eg projectile vomiting etci hope she goes down after this feed, we had a bath tonight too.
I am no Dr but know when she's in pain. I am hoping the meds help her. I think it might be silent reflux but what do I know  I also bought some infacol just in case. She has put on another 200g so I am doing something right!
I hope everyone else is doing well :-)
So hot today. What is with this weather! Lilly feeds worse in this heat fussing and falling asleep. I have had to use a cool wet rag in her to keep her awake sometimes.
-
Having to offer bottle :( took 80 ml but still screaming :( Lilly not settling and for some reason just isn't getting enough no matter how many times I offer Breast tonight. What a crappy day, I get teh feeling my husband would prefer me to FF as he is loosing patience I think with all the unsettledness. I dont think he quite believes me that how their fed dosent matter if they are just being unsettled, but due to my supply problems I guess it always comes back to that for him.
He started saying tonight how this behaviour started when we stopped comping her...
*sigh* really struggling atm, feeling like giving up on it all. /sad face
Edit: got her to settle in the sleepy wrap with her dummy. I have no idea if it was hunger or comfort. Kinda loosing my mind atm and starting to doubt myself again.
-
Aww and now I feel like the worst parent in the world, I plopped her down on the bed next to hubby and she bounced and hit her head against hubbys chest :( Hubby says she is fine but I feel terrible.
-
Oh Lolpigs!!!!   Your right with the feeding.. It doesnt matter how they are fed, if they are unsettled they are unsettled! If it was a hot day today that could contribute to Lilly been unsettled, is was like 31 here in canberra yesterday! and it took me ages to get Aubree to settle during the day! and then last night we had huge thunder storms and the little toad slept through the whole thing (I on th other hand didnt).... Dont doubt yourself hun, you are doing a great job!!!!

Thanks Mollie  She slept through until 6am then BF and went down to sleep again so I'm really confused. She seems to have periods where she dosent want to sleep in her bassinette only on me in the sleepy wrap. Sometimes she will go down in the bassinette, sometimes i'll get her to sleep put her down and 10mins later she will wake up and after a couple times of doing that if I pop her in the wrap with her dummy within 30secs she is asleep and stays asleep in the wrap.
What I'm trying to work out is if she is hungry the reason she is waking or just wants to be with me? Could she just be drinking the formula becuase it's offered or becuase she is actually hungry that is what I can never work out. I gave her a top up BF this time 15mins after she finished both sides to be sure she wasnt hungry but I have doubts as does husband becuase in the hospital they always said if they are hungry they will wake and that is why they will be unsettled? So confused. It's super hot her being in the sleepy wrap due to the weather here but she seems to prefer it 50% of the time. If I give her about 20mins I'll try and put her to bed again see how we go, sometimes that works too.
:wtf:
-
I don't know hun..I guess just keep on trying different things and go with what works  Is she staying awake after a feed during the day to play and so on? Or is it pretty well straight back to sleep each time?
Could be a growth thing too, Alex seems to have gone from settling down at around 8-9pm and waking around 2am then around 6am to wanting to feed every 1.5-2hrs (from start of feed) around the clock, with occasional longer sleeps but a lot more awake time through the day as well. It's not that he's really unsettled or anything, it's just that he's awake and wanting to feed more often. Makes me think I might take him down to the clinic and weigh him at some point, see whether it is that he's just growing rapidly at the moment. He does get shirty if I delay his feed though :p
-
She just is not settling no matter what, I wish she would be straight back to sleep :( It's feed, cry, more crying, wont sleep around and around we go. I wouldn't mind if she was awake and not screaming the house down, but she is. I just gave her 30ml EBM thinking she was still hungry and she just kept crying. A nappy change seemed to settle her for now but it never seems to last long becasue I can't get her to go to sleep. I am about to start pumpig again after every feed becuase I think it's me :( Yet, this morning she settled after her BF, and went to sleep after only a little crying so I don't know.
She is just really miserable atm and I wish I knew why. It is hot today so that might be making her grizzly but she is litterally impossible to settle. She hasn't slept for a decent amount of time since her morning feed where she slept for 2 hours :S DO you think the heat would annoy her enough to stop her from sleeping? It is pretty hot and didnt want to put the air con up too high lest we have the opposite problem.
Also an issue is she dosent seem insterested in being with my husband only me so extra pressure.
Edit: No that lasted about 5mins.. back to crying
-
Lolpigs I've had a similar day. She has been so unsettled. Very frustrating! I can sympathise with you Don't overthink it too much. I'm just taking it a day at a time. I have no idea why she is unsettled. I think she has hiccups where milk comes up and that really annoys her and if it's not that then the gas? It's early days. I'm hoping it will improve by 3 months. I hope your day improves :hugs:
-
I don't know hun - wish I had more than just a hug to offer..
The heat might annoy her a bit, not enough to scream constantly like that I wouldn't think unless it was disgustingly hot. Can you put the aircon on down low just to take the edge off? The other thought is whether maybe a chiro or osteopath might be able to help?
Hope she settles soon hun..
-
:grouphug:
OMG she just fell asleep on dad.
I'm going to pump and let her sleep for now. Pumping can't hurt I guess. That was awful. It's hot, but the air con is on 26 degrees? But she is still not happy about the heat. I think she just might be having a bad day but it is stressful.
She has the right output and put on 200g in a week so there must be enough milk but I always doubt. Think I always will :( It is so hard not to when they are like this.
 Sweetpea I tried gripewater and that didnt work, I thought it might be gas no go. Hopefully she will stay asleep for Dad for at least an hour or so. I think by now she would be overtired as well wouldnt she?
Hugs is just what I need CK!
Well its week 4 next week, only 8 more weeks and hopefully some improvement.
-
There is a good chance she was overtired/overstimulated as well - which makes it even harder for them to settle down. Fingers crossed she has a decent sleep now - and maybe you can catch a nap too.

Hey Girls!
Just wanted to give a quick update on lil miss Z :)
She had her 4 week check up and her results were -
Weight - 4.9kg (has put on 820g in 2 weeks)
Length - 56.1cm (has grown 2.2cm in 2 weeks)
She is going great guns! Have had her a tad unsettled the last couple of days, non stop crying for an hr yesterday arvo! non stop farting (her, not me :P )!
I got constipated the other week so was eating LOTS of fruit (specially nectarines) and licorice as well as lots and lots of water! So we think that the nectarines and licorice caught up with Z through my boobie juice! hence the non stop farting and scream session! poor tyke!
So I am now off nectarines (rumour stone fruit affects the most) and no licorice! ahhhh the things we do huh!
Speaking of the things we do, lil miss H just walked passed farting like a damn trooper! she too is a nectarine fiend! so they are working on her as well....my house is going to smell LOVELY!!
LOL - Harriett was like that NON STOP! would only sleep for 30mins to an hr at a time! for about the first 3 months! its tiring, but it DOES get better! some bubs just do that!! but it is heartbreaking and emotionally draining :( hope she starts to settle for you soon xx
Good luck girls! Tis a tough couple of months to start and then the *woooohoooo* begins!
