Aw hun, I know what you mean... It's so hard to know what to do hey.. Hopefully its just a newborn thing and they grow out of it soon?! We have three hours between the first feed once we put her to bed at night, then it reduces to 1.5 to 2 hours for pretty much the rest of the day... Basically means I only have 2-3 hrs sleep at night cos it takes so long to settle her again after feeding! Violet falls asleep feeding almost every time too- this morning I couldn't wake her up to feed more so had to put her into bed and she woke back up in about 15 mins hungry! I was like, well I tried to wake you up to keep feeding but you wouldn't do it!!! *hugs* hope it gets better for you soon!
Tbh I think she has made the decision for me, no matter how much stuff I do, if she dosent suck I cant maintain my supply. I will keep trying but the toll is getting too much I think. This
Hi Ladies,
I recognise some of you! Hello!
I was on BB during pregnancy but haven't been on for a while so I thought I might join you all in this amazing journey of motherhood.
Here's a bit about me.
I gave birth to my third bubba on the 8th of November. I have a 4 year old son, a 2 year old daughter and now a baby girl. I looooovvvveee being a Mummy but have to admit it is the hardest thing I've ever had to do. I'm lucky enough to be a stay at home Mum for now and am trying to savour every minute.
Mikaela (bubba) is a gorgeous and good little girl. She is settling down now with reflux. She's bottle fed due to very low supply and on losec. Yesterday she was diagnosed with mild hip displaysia so am trying to work out the double nappy thing.
Hi Alz...were you in the TTC threads or was that my shonky memory playing tricks on me? Anyways, welcome and congrats on your little girl :)
Welcome Alz!
Wow, you have yr hands full with 3 lil ones! Well done!
Nothing to report here.
Zoe is going great! Altho, last 3 nights I have had barely any sleep due to her being a bit unsettled. Most likely the heat and her having a growth spurt!
The paed said there is nothing wrong with her feet, a lil *banana foot* from how she was positioned in my belly! but with me massaging her feet they should right themselves! so, $230 for that lil visit! aye carumba they are expensive people! but worth it :)
Harriett is going MENTAL this morning! she has NOT STOPPED singing, talking, dancing....holy crap! she is acting as if she has sucked on sugar for the past 4 years!!
Okay, well off to pump my breasticles :) so shall talk to you all later
Heads up girls, struggling with the breastfeeding...it is a tough thing to do! REALLY tough, just remember if you do give formula that you are doing what's best for yr baby! it's not a failure on yr part! I am still pumping but mainly giving formula to Z. She gets about 150ml of breast milk and the rest of the day she gets formula :)
xxx
Hugs to everyone. Welcome Alz I'll add you to the list when I get near the main computer.
Levi's been good the last few days, just his usual pop trouble in the morning. I think I over loaded him on dairy. I'm going to wait until after Xmas and I'll try having some cereal (milk) and see if he reacts.
Welcome Alz! My DD has reflux too and she is on Losec. What dose are you on? It's been a very hard 7 weeks and it is still very challenging even on the losec. We are on half a 10 mg tablet once a day. I'm finding that it isn't enough for a whole day. We had a terrible session of screaming last night.
CK sorry to hear that. She might not admit that it has anything to do with Alex but there has been a major change in her life. She might wonder what her place is in the family hence the worry about what will happen if something bad happens. Counselling would help.
Lolpigs sorry to hear it hasn't been going well.
Hi Alz Welcome :)
Thanks Jan. On a good note, her reflux seems to have settled down, we had no screaming yesturday!
Yeah I'm going to try and pump and feed her what I can get out like you Nikky, but she is getting as frustrated as me I'm covered in scratches on my boobs from her getting upset at flow and not getting enough. Least this way she gets what I can give her and has her needs met.
I really need to reduce stress about this because I'm starting to really hate feeding times and that isn't healthy. Lets see how it goes.
Yes CK - We were in the TTC forum together.
Jan - we are using the losec suspension. She has 2.5 mls a day and I think we will be increasing that the 3 fairly soon. She is fussy during the day but is perfect at night now. We also have her on Novalac AR formula to help with the regurgitation. It is helping as she no longer chokes on her vomit. Do you use a dummy? Mikaela is our third baby with reflux and we have found that the dummies help.
:( bubs had all her 2 months vaccs today, one unhappy bubs this arvo no temp but feeling miserable I think
ok figured out what is going on with my supply, bubs growth spurt + my supply taking weeks to respond = where we are again. I believe that is why it was fine for a week and then suddenly not again.
Dexided to pump for her and top up like before. Wont be changing it this time though
Poor lil poppet - Alex is booked in to have his done after new years. To be honest I feel sad and sorry for myself after a needle too, so can hardly blame them for being a bit out of sorts.
Mister has been pretty unsettled today and feeding a lot as well - definitely thinking growth spurt. And to top it off, DD just had the biggest blood nose...so now I'm cleaning blood out of the carpet.
Hugs again. I ended up having dairy today...shall see how he copes I guess, could have a grumpy boy xmas day.
Hope everyone is ready for xmas, we are here. Im a little excited :D
I can't believe it is Xmas eve tomorrow! Feels strange this year
Christmas is exciting! We had our Santa photo done yesterday. Julian smiling and Jessica sleeping. Too cute. She had a fistful of his beard lol. He was so nice and managed to get it back without revealing himself lol
Alz she uses a dummy when she feels like it. I can't believe you have had 3 babies with reflux. It must've been tough. I never imagined it would be this hard. We are on the tablets. Started two 5 mg doses yesterday as she was still vert unsettled with one dose. It was helping but wore off, then she would scream again. Dont know if it was the reason but she slept from 12pm to 7am. In feeling like a different person today. She had a terrible day yesterday with hardly any sleep all day so that could be the reason too. Is the suspension working for your DD?
Got to wrap lots of pressies today and we are heading home. Going to miss my family!
Hey alz!!! Nice to have you join the group! My baby Violet Wasserstein born on the 17th so I technically should be in the other baby buddies group but this is my belly buddies group and there's no way I was going to leave this group hehe! Mikaela is a beautiful name :) congratulations on her birth and looking forward to getting to know you!!
Lolpigs, you mentioned getting scratches when trying to feed- does Lilly get frustrated like that throughout the entire feed? Violet does the same thing but only but only near the end of the feed (when milk flow slows down is my guess..) it's like she wriggles all her arms and legs and head frantically while grunting and yeah, scratching! And her mouth is wide open... It's so weird!
Jan, awww @ the Christmas photo!!! Hehe, clever Santa managing to keep his beard on!!
MIL comes over today from Sydney- not looking forward to it I must say! Wish me luck holding my tongue with her stupid rude comments!
Merry Babies First Christmas for tomorrow everyone!!!!!
Morning girls! Sun is shining, birds are singing and it's our first Christmas with our gorgeous babies tomorrow :) Today though, I have cooking to be done. Glad DH is here to help out...
Tried to measure Alex's length last night, I'm not entirely sure I got it right at 63cm - that's 11cm longer than at birth! Mind you, I have had to adjust the shoulder markers on his car seat a couple of times already...so could be right I guess?
Has anyone thought about taking bubs to the pools yet? DD is begging, but not sure how it'd work with Mister. Worried even a heated pool would be too cold for him.
Ive put Levi into crawler nappies :( No newborn any more lol.
Its very warm here, poor Levi doesnt like it. He gets heat rash.
Hubby just put up some icicle lights out the front :) Its our first xmas lights for Levi :D
