Schonell: i have to admit that i am stoked that school is back too now :D love the two days that i have just with DD3 (when DD2 has creche).
Audax: oh wow! she is sitting up! Miss E can only manage (and loves it!) for about 30 seconds before doing the slow lean forward hahaha. so so super awesome that all is fantastic! Nothing like the fog lifting...
swimming? for Miss S? that is so cool. we have only managed to float around the pool while DD1 has lessons lol. poor third child...just gets dragged along after her Big Sisters haha.
AFM: we have all been hit hard with conjunctivitis! so happy that i am still BF as that has helped immensely with the girls. i had to have the topical ABs...ewww. thankfully it is finally over (well for the most part...ie just me left!).
Miss E continues to love food. today she chowed down on cinnamon and banana bread...she thought it was superb! and she had some cut up plum too...so funny as she kept squishing up her face as it was a bit sour but then eating it again and again hahaha. love it!
food ATM is definitely more a fun thing rather than for nourishment. although she does love to really chow down at times. am thinking of feeding her a breakfast meal and leaving the rest for just joining us when and if she wants??

Congrats again on becoming a Mod!
Miss K did well with her jabs. Screamed the Drs surgery down initially but wasn't long before she was happy again. I think I gave her some panadol just prior or maybe after for precaution (sorry my brain is still a little mushy these days)
Yay to Miss E for eating some food! So funny when they start, they still think they have to suck like they are drinking milk! haha
schonell - Miss A sounds like she is travelling nicely!
Audax - I can't believe SaySay is sitting up by herself! How clever! Miss K is far too lazy to do that - hahaha! She does the same as Miss E - slumps forward until she is nearly flat! Have fun at swimming lessons! DH wants to wait until Miss K is a little older. I think we took Miss R when she was around 8 mo from memory so we'll look into it about then for Miss K...
AFU - Miss K has started eating a little bit too. I do a bit of what we are eating and purees. I don't stress though - if she eats, she eats! Makes her nappy interesting if she does swallow any food - poowee! Not much else happening here though, Miss K still wakes for 1-2 feeds at night, tried doing a rollover feed in the hope that she would sleep a little longer but it has made no difference. I think I'll just wait until she decides to change things as I am happy to feed her overnight as she is efficient and goes straight back to sleep!

No more sitting up here. Why would you do that, when you can CRAWL? :o Not even 6 months yet, and slugging around all over the floor. Scared the life out of me yesterday when I heard the screen door squeak open, thought it might have been hubby home early. Nope, baby girl had pushed it. The house is totes baby proof, so that's not a worry, really, but still. CRAWLING. DD1 was 11.5 months before she got mobile.
So I decided to start foods early, so that her non-breast milk intake isn't 100% dirt and grass. She sucked on two carrot sticks at dinner tonight, loved them.
Sleep is back to awesomeness! A 6 hour stretch, at least, every night, often more. And good daytime naps. We are winning life. Oh, and she has a voice. All da long we hear "a da a da a da da a da" it's soft and high pitched and really sweet. She hardly ever cries now, even when she wakes up at night. Such a darling!

OMG Audax! CRAWLING?! Holy Moly! Miss K can sit unassisted for a maybe 10 seconds then falls over! haha! Mind you she has been raising her bottom up and down and moving her legs but doesn't go anywhere - I think she will be a little way off crawling yet! She does roll everywhere though and gets stuck under furniture and the likes - crazy baby!
How cute is their talking (well Miss K screeches!) She is still a very serious baby and tells you (by screaming or crying) when she isn't happy. I think most people think she is a really unhappy, cranky baby b/c that is what they see most of the time, when she really isn't - she is just very vocal when she is not happy!
Sleep is interesting for Miss K. For the past two nights she has had about a 6 hour stretch (usually it's around 3-5 hours). Its weird b/c we had so much trouble with Miss Rs sleeps. Hubby wants me to introduce a permanent rollover feed but I am not messing with anything - she is too easy and I don't want to mess her around just so I *might* be able to have longer stretches - I think she will do it all by herself.
Food wise - we do a bit of BLW and helping her eat. For the most time she has sticks of food for breakfast & lunch and snacks are random - if she wants something I am eating we give it to her. Dinner - she just has what we are having. Last night was ravioli. I had to help her eat that b/c she still squishes the food in her palm and hasn't worked out she needs to open her hand to get to the food! Previously she has had flathead tails, pork and veg stir fry and various other things. No allergies/intolerances at this stage so I am happy to keep going with what we are doing.
She weighs around the 7.8kg mark - I weighed with her on our scales at home.
My sister had her first baby on Monday, a boy. I was in the birth with her, she was amazing and so is he - I was telling friends I never thought I'd be able to love anybody elses children apart from my own but I was wrong! I am in love, he is adorable!

oh wow! RCC! that is SO COOL that you got to go to your sister's birth!!! I would love to hold my friends hand (dont have sisters lol) to help them bring their baby earthside...how incredibly special!!

I am JEALOUS of the sleep your babies are doing...man. Here it is still crapville. I dont know how to get her back to awesome or if it will ever happen...waaaaahhhhh! (that's me crying not her PMSL).
She was so so good...and now is so so bad. we had HOURLY waykeups the night before last...i swear that that day i felt drunk i was so tired. last night was better. she went down as usual around 6.30-7 then woke around 8 for a feed and then 10...then she woke around 2.30am but i was literally soooo tired that i actually couldnt move.....and i fell back asleep!!! I woke with a start just after 3am and she had gone back to sleep...do you think she might of totally cried her eyes out?? or just complained and then nodded back off??? When i heard her at 2.30 she was literally calling out and yelling but not crying ITMS...oh man, i feel terrible. anyway, what that did mean is that i didnt have to feed her from 10pm to 7am...which was magnificent for my sleep cycles lol. i feel so refreshed today haha.
Here we are about to start down the path of bathroom building. we are putting it out to tender (it is an extension - blergh!). we are busily trying to work out where to live for a month or so while they do the major demolition and stuff...but then we are moving back in while they finish which is going to be a bit gross.

Our night sleeps have been a bit crappy as well. 2-3 hourly is how it seems to go, (3-2-2-3) but I'm going to work on it. Think maybe she's a bit cold, so we're rugging her up. Day sleeps are pretty good now that she's crawling though, she does a 1 hour and a 2 hour every day, then maybe a catnap at 4:30ish if she needs it.
Meanwhile, it's the toddler doing most of the evening shenanigans. Off I go....

Hey all,
So sorry I haven't been around. My sister has been heavily relying on me to help out with her new bubs. She has had a tough time with trying to get bf established as well as dealing with suspected silent reflux and terrible wind. Poor little man is so upset and uncomfortable and my sister has been beside herself so I have been juggling my home stuff and kids trying to help her out as much as possible. I don't know where the time goes and seems all my stuff has been on the backburner. Anyway, she is now starting to sort through it all and making some changes that should help.
I am extremely fortunate that Miss K is still doing well with night sleeps, although is back to waking 3 hourly for feeds but settles back easily. Friday night has been the only night where she had a shocker (think it was a combo of teething and a cold bothering her) that we ended up co-sleeping from around 3am until 6.30am so that both of us (well more Miss K) could have a sleep/rest. She ended up sleeping on me then woke for her usual first morning feed then I popped her back in her cot and she had a decent block. I thought this might have been the start of her sleep turning to crap but alas it has gone back to previous cycles. Like I said, extremely fortunate and certainly very different from Miss R, who still sneaks into our bed at nearly 6 yo!
So Miss K sits up by herself, rolls all over the place says 'Dada' and 'Bub' and that is about it.... oh and does this funny rocking back and forth thing when sitting. I dunno what she is up to but it is quite funny. She also rolls in the bath :-/ I have no idea how much she weighs but still has chunky thighs, rolls everywhere and baby clevage so I am tipping she is doing quite well! She is quite happy to try pretty much anything food wise put in front of her. Last night was roast lamb and veg!
So, that in a nutshell is a basic outline of what I have been up to.
You have reminded me I need to get the 6 mo needles done but since Miss K has a snotty nose I will give it a miss until she is well again.

Hope you can get your sister sorted out! Is she babywearing? I remember the utter despair in the early days with Sadie, but I'm really glad we didn't go down the medication for reflux path. She has turned into the easiest baby now. Hope the same happens with your nephew.
Our little girl is a carb fiend! She is so funny, if she sees her big sister even look at the high chair, she starts crying until I put her up at the table - can't bear the thought of missing out on food. Tonight it was pasta with cauli and silverbeet. She loooooved the pasta. Last night it was pizza (DH is in Italy, so we're eating along with his journey) and the two of them passed this half chewed crust between them. It was gross, but sweet, but gross. She also loves roasted field mushrooms, and don't they just look fabbo coming out the other end? :lol:
Our bathtimes are crazy. I have taken to putting both kids in the baby bath, so the littlie doesn't have as much room to squirm, because it's like trying to soap up an eel. She is all over the place. I was really daunted by having to bathe the two of them on my own while hubby's away, but it actually hasn't been so bad.
I am soooo lucky to have these two amazing little people. They make it easy. I'm in a really good place right now, and it's difficult to believe how far down a hole I was just two months ago, compared to how happy I am now. Things just got better really quickly. And our little commando crawler is such a delight that it all seems so incredibly worth it. Gush gush. :D

LN - not baby's wearing although I have suggested her to, particularly in the morning as this is his most unsettled time. They have a sling but she wants to change it as its not quite what she wanted. I have a didymos wrap but she is nervous to use it. I am still a novice at wearing myself so I can't help her. She also prefers to do things at home in the morning but of course he needs her more than the washing, housework etc.... I had gently told her to rearrange her day and consider popping him into bed with her after his early morning feed then start her day at say 9/10am as he may be happier but she is a little scared of him wanting to sleep with her all the time and she isn't up for it... I know she will work it out in her own time but I remind her every now and then of different and perhaps more gentler things to try...
I love watching them eat new foods. Miss K grabs it looks at it, turning it every which way in her hand then shoves it in! Haha She gives everything a go which I love!
One thing we got in our bath was a non slip mat, which is great cos Miss K can sit up without slipping around and she also likes lying down and kicking her legs madly so it not so hard on her heels!

Has RCC, cute! A non slip mat is powerless against saysay's desire to crawl in the bath. She is just such an explorer!
Stewed celery was a winner here tonight. And she tried very hard to pick up her sister's peas, but not much success.

LM: I *still* cannot believe that you have a kid on the move lol! that is just so cool! and massive massive kudos for flying solo on the parenting for so many weeks. i am quietly pooping my pants about DH being away a week next month bahahaha. how come he scored a trip to Italy?? I would be insanely jealous hahaha!
i find that DD2 'shares' her food with DD3...simply to get out of eating it herself :lol:
RCC: essshhh. sounds like your poor sis has been having a rrally tough start :( it can be all so overwhelming and i guess the pressure to get it 'right' is quite pervasive iykwim. i too was terrified i would 'ruin' DD1 if i didnt do exactly as my mach nurse suggested. time will hopefully give her a chance to take it more easy on herself.
AFM: all had been going beautifully for the last few months. we had settled into a doable pattern of family life and although DD3 is not sleeping through her brief wakes for feeds were AOK for me as time and experience has shown me that soon i will miss those snuggly night-time BFs. although with winter setting in it is a bit harder to roll out of bed hahahaha.
Unfortunately though our world is turning a bit upside down. DD3 had a series of very big seizures on thursday night and since then has been having seizures of varying intensities almost every hour. i am beginning to realise that there have been some signs that things were amiss before thursday, but always was able to put it down to her being tired, or wanting to get moving, being frustrated etc etc. whereas now, with recent events i now have to begin to accept were most likely seizures. We have spent all last night at the RCH and have to now be admitted to the neurology ward for assessment. epilepsy is on the cards but right now it could really be anything. my fear of course is that it is impacting on her development and have been crying alot in the last 24 hours. but i do still hold out hope that this too shall pass or that it is something that can be treated and managed and will not affect her development. it is just such a scary scary time right now and i just want to hold her and run away and make it all safe again.

Oh My God, Cassius, how terrifying. I can't believe you have been going through all that. I hope you get some answers, I hope she is OK, I hope this is something very manageable. Thinking of you, and those incredibly comfy hospital chairs. I'll keep stalking to get your updates. xx.

I find that I manage about 3 days solo feeling like i have superpower/undies on the outside capabilities...then it all comes crashing down PMSL!!!!
Is it ok with your mum there? or just a little bit more work? I find it is that way with my mum...
Miss E is ok. We are pretty sure that she has benign myoclonus (basically a mimickry condition of 'wests syndrome'). this is what we are hoping and aiming for. it will mean a few more months of reviews with neurology etc.

I recognise sme of u from awhile back when we were all in the preg forums but havnt been back for awhile (since my lil girl was born)
Thought i'd rejoin and see how everyones goin and share my experiences and see what u ladies are up to with ur lil ones who are all at the same stage.
Bit of backgrnd incase, we were ttc for 4 yrs finally went and did ivf which worked 1st go after a natural conception which ended in m/c the yr before.
At 15wks i had a bleed and thought the worst but she was a strong lil angel and held on to 40wks!
Birth was natural with help of epidural and she was born a healthy 3.55kgs and 53cms!
We cldnt imagine our lives w/out her and made all those sad times ttc all worth while.
I had a few probs with my milk supply which had me dwn for awhile but then it came in. Still had to mix feed but it was fine as i just cldnt make enough.
At 5mths she just refused to bf so i just expressed what i cld and mix fed that way but eventually my milk dried up so we are solely formula feeding now.
She hates tummy time but i try to put her on her tummy atleast for 5mins in the morning n arvo.
She loves jumping on the jumperoo toy we got her.
No teeth altho we had a few signs lately, one being a very bad nappy rash where she was bleeding!
All good now again aftr sme medicated cream and cleaninb with water and cotton buds.
Anyone reccomnd any natural wipes out there? I use the j&j fragrance free ones but just wanting to find something more natural. I found water wipes online but they dnt import them in oz!
Theyre 99.9% water so no harm to the baby. Wish i cld find smethn similar and conveiniant here other then cotton buds!
Anyways wld love to get advice re solid introduction as my lil one seems to hav a sweet tooth and only wants fruits! Any veggies i hav to mix with carrot for her to even try it.
I cant giv her any foods that give gas, broccholi, peas, sweet potato all hav us pullin out hair out as she wont sleep that night from whind pains. Any suggestions welcme :)

Hi Mia. Congratulations on your little girl! It's all girls round here.
For wipes, I just use cheap face washers (ikea/target) dipped in water. I add a little bit of ecostore baby wash, but it doesn't seem to matter whether I do or not.
For foods, we do baby led weaning, so DD2 just eats whatever we're eating. Her favourites are little corn cobs, big slices of mushroom, stewed celery (I throw a few sticks into our casseroles and then give them to her, she loves them) and, funnily enough, roasted beetroot. She's also a big fan of pasta, in whatever sauce we're having, but especially pesto.
We have a jumperoo that someone gave us. DD2 loves it, but we limit the time she spends in there as anatomically it's not great for their hips, spine, posture or development of the right muscle groups for walking. I let her go in there when I'm hanging out the washing. She's crawling everywhere now, and just not safe in the backyard!
Cassius - how is little poppet? Any improvement? Any answers? Thinking of you.
Little Saddie (as big sis now calls her) is a bit sick :( she's on antibiotics for URTI. DD1 and I had the same cold, but DD2 seems to have copped the worst of it, and another infection on top. Poor little sausage. My ILs have been here too, so she's just been dragged all over the countryside, which doesn't help.
