RCC: sounds like she might also be doing the whole 4 month sleep regression thingo...she'll get back to awesomeness...at least i hope so 'cause we are also having some upset sleeps hahahaha.
I am also finding that school pick up time is a bit crap as miss e wants to have her arvo nap at that time. and most of the time when we go to the school she doesnt sleep as she is too excited and wants to see all the action lol.
babywearing can work :) i wore DD2 everywhere during the day. it was seriously the only way that she could do good day sleeps and let me get things done (and not struggle and cry with a crying unhappy overtired baby lol)

how is your DD1 now? poor poppet being so sick :( i am on total paranoid guard ATM as both at CC and school there has been a headlice notice :o i am so not ready for this haha.

that seems super with bubs weight :) i reckon Miss E must be around the same mark. not that i have seen our MCHN since Miss E was 8 weeks old (she kept harping on about tummy time and how i need to do it or else it would be bad...i was like 'whaaatttt????' i have never 'done' tummy time with the girls, like ever lol. sometimes they want to be on their guts and other times they dont. i just follow their lead, but apparently i am doing it all wrong and she was really having a go. then it turns out that she didnt realise that DD is my third baby. that's when i gave up. she has been our MCHN since we only had DD1 lol.
i am *totally* jealous that you have a good MCHN...argh! wish they would visit this side of town occasionally hahaha.

Audax: hmm i was so sure that i replied to your post! i have only managed a couple of nights out...but with DD3 in tow...she so is not impressed by the whole caper :lol:. My other girls loved going out, but not this one, she likes her pjs on and to be in her own bed by 7pm thankyouverymuch hahahaha, can't wait until she is that little bit older that she can go to bed without me (we still feed to sleep for nights).
what's up with her feeding? does she snack alot?

Schonell: how are you guys going? has DD mastered her commando crawling yet?

AFM: we have had a rough week. Miss E got the sniffles and it just got her all miserable. so her beautiful month and half of sleeping through the night etc just flew out the window and she has been so unhappy :(
but thankfully yesterday and last night she seems to have turned a corner and was much more herself today. so much so that i was able to get along to the mums and bubs movie today (Oz: the great and the powerful...think that's what it was called)...it was lots of fun. love that i get to have a coffee and a slice of cake and see a movie all at the same time lol (it is a palace cinema that runs our local babes session).

For most of today (daytime) she has hardly slept plus with Miss R home it threw a spanner in the works. She seems to be struggling through one sleep cycle to the next - wakes up crying and I leave her for a bit to see if she with resettle to no avail. I did CC with Miss R but really struggled at times with it and stopped doing it and as such ended up co-sleeping and still do to this day. Not an issue for me but DH hates it (but won't do anything about it!). I don't want to add another child in the mix with co-sleeping, so I am trying to get her to resettle without the need for cuddles or boobie. Gosh that sounds harsh :-( I fed her at 6pm then she looked tired not long after and got whingy on the floor, sitting with us and didn't want cuddles so put her down, got through one sleep cycle until I ended up getting her up again to feed at 8.30pm, She fed ok, fell asleep on me so I put her back to bed and she has been a little unsettled again but is settling much easily. I just hope that her nights don't turn to crap b/c I don't function very well on no sleep! Glad to know I am not the only one going through the sleep issue though... makes me feel a lot better.

Bugger about headlice. Miss R got headlice from creche once. Blardy awful to get rid of too. Luckily her hair was short then. I hope she doesn't get any at school... Will keep an eye out for those little buggers! She is much better now. I made her some chicken soup, which she ate and kept down and she managed some dinner. It was either something she ate - she had her cheese and crackers and strawberries at school for morning tea so nothing unusual there or she was a little dehydrated b/c she did say she had a sore head too. She's been sipping water when we got home so I'll see how she is in the morning. I don't think it is gastro b/c no runs and only threw up the once.

Funny about the MCHN. The one I had for Miss R was... ummm..... interesting looking back now. As a first time mum I had no idea but then I started reading more on BB and the likes and got the heads up! This one mentioned the tummy time thing too but I have really avoided it b/c Miss K possets a little after feeding so I don't want to put her on her tummy and have to clean up mess! I think she knows I don't really do it b/c Miss K rolled from back to front & she said they usually roll front to back first.... (not sure about that though) and her hands wern't really infront of her when she was doing her checks - they were more just under her chest or to the side! I only go really for weight and height checks as I am bf this time around and am a little paranoid still with the amount Miss K is getting.

Oooh, so jealous about you going to the movies - I really should do something like that but I am trying to be home more atm. I'll keep that in mind for a few months time!

Oh, cass, I have a friend who lives near you and I think she had the same MCHN! Horrible! Put the fear of god into my friend about baby wearing too much(as if there's such a thing!) I am the same about tummy time. He only time my kids are on their tummies is if they have cute ruffle bums I want to photograph! And of course DD2 is a tummy sleeper.

Feeding... Little miss was taking on all her milk at night, then refusing through the day. So I've been winding down her night feeds, letting her suck til she's just quiet, then whip her off and dump her in the cot. She settles, and it has helped so much. She's not great at feeding outside the home though. Anywhere too bright/noisy/windy/cold/hot/exciting and she just arches her back and refuses. She'd stamp her foot if she could. And she absolutely will not feed with a wet nappy. I hate to use such a term, but princess does spring to mind. And, like Miss E, MUST be home, bathed, pyjamaed and on the boob by nightfall. We went out for sushi last week, it's a 5 minute walk from home, we were back by 6:45, but she cracked it.

We have hit that ridiculous wonder week. 18 or 19, I think? S is only 15 weeks and a bit, but being 2 weeks overdue, it's pretty close. She's coping okay, she just wants to be on me. Which I don't mind.

We're leaving for a trip to Sydney and Melbourne next week. I ummed and ahhed about whether to do her 4 month vaxes before or after, because the 18th is while we're away. I'm going to do them before, though, since she'll no doubt be cuddled by everyone we see. I'm also going to talk to my GP about PND. I've been not coping so well lately, I thought it was normal, but a couple of friends have helped me see otherwise.

Also, met a local mum today who had the same midwife as me! We swapped numbers, cos we're totally like sisters now.

oh em gee Audax hahahaha! our babies are like TOTALLY the same :rofl: i swear i LOLd because it was like reading about Miss E :lol:

Bummer to hear about the chance of pnd. i had it with DD1. it sucks bum. i loved getting in contact with PANDA. i told DH that if i wasnt married to him i would marry them lol. they can give pretty good feedback for any worries or if you want some info on how to get yourself feeling better...i find they give some gentle holistic advice without pigeon-holing ITMS.
if you do end up finding/feeling that you have it...it will be ok. 'kay? life after PND does get sunny again...promise :hug:

RCC: we do what Audax mentioned...feed and dump lol. i wait for her to get sleepy on the boob but try not to feed all the way to sleep. she tends to squawk a bit every now and then (well, ATM like ALL.THE.TIME hahaha), but normally she either just pops off or has a little complain (for like 30 seconds!) and then goes to sleep.
we had a seriously ROUGH night tonight. she only finally went down 2.5 hours after we first went down (she didnt sleep at all today really...like 1 hour or something ridiculous) so was super super tired. in the end i just sat her on my lap in the dark, looked her in the eye...and blew a raspberry on her belly :lol: she totally cracked up laughing hahahaha. then she thought that it was a good idea to have a chat and a giggle so i let her...despite it being like 9pm...and you know what? it seemed that that's what she wanted! i guess with her being sick all week she felt she missed out on some fun, so now that she felt better she wanted a chat and a laugh...funny as. it was good for me too as i was starting to get really down about it after the umpteenth time getting up and trying to settle her. a belly laugh can work wonders!

Audax - I'm sorry to hear you are not coping well/feeling yourself. If you can't get into your GP, like Cassius has said perhaps a chat to PANDA may help in the meantime.
Lol @ your little one. Must be the year for very vocal babies! Miss K will certainly let you know if she isn't happy in any situation! I thought Miss R was a handful at this age but Miss K is going to out do her!

Cass - awww, I feel for the little ones hitting wonder weeks and the likes, so much going on in their tiny brains they must be so overwhelmed sometimes.

Thanks both for the tip about feeding and dumping. Am trying to be aware of this more during the night feeds. Having sad that last night was a bit of a failure as she cluster fed just after dinner then again from 11pm - 1am then did three hour block feeding again - I think the heat made her want to feed more b/c they were such short feeds though. She has slept well this morning and again now - just went in to resettle her once so far. She is alot happier when she has better blocks of sleep during the day. Looks like we *may* be heading onto sunnier pastures now. I've also taken her amber necklace off and she seems ok without it. I might just try the bracelet instead, perhaps the necklace was bothering her or its just a coincidence?? Time will tell. She is drooling heaps though. I have resorted to putting a bib on her during the day otherwise her top half is soaked or she is drooling on us!

Well, better hit the shops for food otherwise we'll be eating toast for dinner!

Omg yes! we too have a drooly baby! it is insane lol! i go to pick her up and she is all soaked lol.

RCC: i have a feeling that the heat has something to do with it too. Miss E has been feeding like crazy through the night (like every 2-3 hours) and is waking up with an almost dry nappy :o it has been really foul in our house as we have no aircon and no way to ventilate our room (the previous owners jammed the window shut and then put in a sound box thingo to cut out traffic noise. it is a total fire hazard IMHO. cannot wait to get that window remade. but yeah, it does mean that we cannot even open up for a bit of a fresh breeze :(

I won a bugaboo nappy bag the other day from a baby stuff blog thingo (babyology) and it arrived :dance: so stoked! it is massive and i havent used a nappy bag in ages, but i reckon, considering it is free lol, i will give it a whirl at MG today. will actually be awesome to have a spot to put everything lol. and of course it now matches my bugaboo donkey...the important things yanno :lol:

we also braved the heat and decided to go camping! (it was a long weekend here in VIC for those not here in VIC!). so we packed the car with the kids and the tent and headed down the coast and spent a night out. it was really lovely. we were right on the beach and so built sandcastles and had a paddle in the water to escape the heat. man, have to say since we got back last night i am feeling the icky heat! i never complain as i love warm weather but now that we are what, 2 week in (?) of days above 30 with no respite at night my poor house is like an oven.

anyway, hope that you are all travelling ok!

Going to the GP tomorrow. The weirdest bit is that I haven't mentioned it to my DH yet. Which is ridiculous, but I just am finding it difficult. Anyway, we'll see. Baby can get her jabs done too.

Re snack feeding in the heat, my DD1 did it too. All the time, she was born in a really hot summer. All day and all night. Really odd hearing about the heat in Melbs! I'm trying to pack now, we're going to Sydney as well, and it's so hard to know what to put in. By the sounds of it, swimming gear (togs, lol) is more important than a beanie! But I'll pack both, heck, it's Melbourne, anything could happen.

We had a shocking night on Saturday. Hubby went out partying til 1 am and STILL got more sleep than me. But SaySay backed it up with a sleep through, so it all worked out. I'm still playing sleep catchup though. Actually, I have a small window to nap now, so I might go take it.

at least we are a chatty bunch :lol:

Audax: I reckon it is hardest to kind of open up about it to our closest people ITMS. makes it more 'real' IYKWIM. when are you coming down? it seems that the warm weather will be here for another couple of weeks. i love it but dont love it at night. thankfully on thursday it will go down to 15 at night :)

I was up 4 times last night. 2 times for DD2 who fell out of the bed both times. and 2 times for DD3 (well, the second time was at 6.30am...so cant really complain but i will hahahaha). i feel so wrecked. also because i am so hot at night that even when they are asleep i can barely follow suit.

oh and tried out the bugaboo nappy bag today...it is WAY too big! like stupid big. i cannot believe that they designed something so crap lol. i think i will use it as a travel bag (for on planes etc). i just cannot possibly fathom how else people would use it for everyday things.

Glad to hear I am not the only one with slobber everywhere. Even Miss K's hands are covered as she is constantly sticking them in her mouth, then she'll grab my hair or suck my shoulder! haha is it cute but makes such a mess

So glad today is much milder. I detest the heat anyway, so these past weeks have been a little testing for me personally, let alone throwing in a bf baby for good measure! We've had a few drier nappies too. I've actually topped Miss K with some cooled boiled water in a bottle (she goes back to breast no probs) as she seems thirsty but doesn't want to feed from me. She actually goes cross eyes staring at the bottle - weird!
She was pretty good yesterday she went for her night sleep - woke at midnight, then 3 then just after 7 so I really had a fairly good night. Miss R come down to sleep with us so I ended up in her bed as it was far too hot for the three of us sleeping together.

Congrats Cass on winning the bugaboo nappy bag, pity it isn't very functional for everyday, but like you said longer travels it will be handy, plus it matches! lol

Audax - GL for today at the GP. I would probably be the same as you - go to the GP see what they say then tell DH, incase it wasn't PND just usual after baby hormone studd, so you are not alone on that one.

Well, better go I have to pick up Miss R from school soon - DH is working at the Exhibition Centre today in readiness for the flower and garden show that starts tomorrow in the CBD, so he will be home later than usual.

in relation to drooly baby i stepped into one of those 'pop up' stores that are all the rage here in northcote (rents are too high for local businesses so WAHM/local designers etc do short lease plans while the shop is up for lease for longer term shops...does that make sense lol?) ANYWAY...went in (i usually avoid as they are super exxy, gorgeous but loads of cash for anything...but hit the jackpot with gorgeous little drool mopping up neck bandanas lol. soooo cute! I'll try and post a pic of the one that i got (cream background with green polka dots).

My stupid post from last night got eaten! Grrr!

Saysay's drool is so intense that it stains her clothes. All her white stuff has grey patches on it, after washing. Bandana bib sounds cool! I wasn't sure if they'd be cute on girls.

My GP was awesome. I think she was expecting it, tbh. Referral to psyc, which sounds good, and a local support group. Baby girl got jabbed and was so so good about it. Crumpled into sleep after a bit of boob, then was just back to business for the rest of the arvo. Took a while to go to bed. She's such a darling little trooper of a thing. Her favourite pastime lately is just to sit in her bouncer under the big tree in our backyard and watch the leaves.

Cass - I've seen them before but forgot all about them. That would look so much better than a bib!

Audax - So glad to hear your GP was supportive. Did you discuss with your hubby yet?
It's amazing how the small things give them the most enjoyment. Miss K loves walks in the pram - just taking in all the new sites, that is plenty for her!

Audax: I am in awe that your GP knows of a support group! that is totally awesome. Our MACH centre ran one years ago that I was going to join, but then I really started to feel better and decided to leave the much-needed spots open to others...but then i was like: 'damn, dont get to meet new mums' lol.

That is a relief that Miss S rocked out on her jabby-jabs. I always make sure that I am stocked up on panadol for afterwards JIC.

Schonell: long time no hear! how are things up your way?

RCC: oh man, my Miss E also loves a stroll in the pram...but that of course then means that she is too busy having a fabulous time to bother with sleep hahahahaha. spent half the day in the city and the little monkey only did short 40 minute naps throughout!

oh and super newsflash! did you guys see that target is having a massive sale? i have been scoring bargains man! they have the CUTEST knitted blankets in very cool retro colours for like $24! and i picked up some way awesomely cute pink chevron and grey burp cloth and bibs for $3.80 a set (From $15!). i went in to pick up plain cot flannie sheet sets and came away with some extras lols. they also have a buy one toy get second 50% off...good for birthdays/xmas...

Nothing to report here... I was suppose to get Miss K's jabs done but I got the days mixed up when I could go to local council so I have booked in to get them done at the GP's next week.

Cass - Thanks for the tip about Target. Might have to put some things on lay by for Miss R's b'day in June.

Audax: how have you been? Have you managed to get to the support group? I know that i really clicked with a few girls and really enjoyed going along and being with ppl that got it IYKWIM.
Bummer that we missed you on your trip! not that i would of made for exciting company...i was in zombie sleep deprived land and probably would of freaked you all out in my unkempt slighly manic disposition and state of dress :rofl:

AFM: well, we have been flat-chat with absolutely nothing to show for it hahaha. Miss E decided that sleep was for the weak. and it hit me hard. I swear that i have never felt so tired except when i was a first-time mum hit with the shock of a newborn baby IYKWIM. She had gone from sleeping entirely through the night (for 2 months straight) to waking almost hourly overnight and screaming all day and night long :( it has been horrendous. thankfully *touch wood* she has come out of it just this last week. in the end i begged DH to take us away for a night to restore ourselves. she woke all night and screamed all day even then, but at least it was a change of scenery hahaha. and then, all of a sudden, back to normal...in fact slightly better than normal in that i can just plonk her in awake and she gets herself off to sleep. i soo hope that this is her normal...i can live in hope right, right??

Miss E has started to eat a little bit of food...i feel a bit sad, but she loves it so much. i was really hoping that she would start at 6 months or later but i was eating a really delicious spinach and haloumi pie and she literally chucked a tantrum and started clawing my face off to get to it. so i gave her a slice and she smashed the entire thing down. since then she has had some of our minestrone soup, spag bog, pesto panino and some couscous with baked black bean...whatever we eat lol. she is really enjoying the whole experience of just eating with us i think. it is quite sweet. but she is growing up...woah.

Go Miss E! Miss A has just started on solids too but only on puréed foods for the moment though she's attacked my sandwich a couple of times so going to start with a few lumps and bumps I think. Hope you all get some sleep soon Cass! Sleep deprivation is horrible.

Glad school holidays are over, weren't too bad but it's nice to have some peace and quiet :P

I'm back too! We have been travelling like mad, and having an awesome time.

Little S is rolling everywhere, sitting independently, and making these gorgeous little grunts mimicking her big sister. She is so so happy and I am madly in love. At last. Can't get enough of her.

We just went on a two week road trip, all around NSW, mostly camping. Plenty of sand, dirt and leaves to be eaten, and she thrived on the outdoor life.

First swimming lesson tomorrow! Wooooot!
