    Hi everyone!

Back form Bali and I will catch up on everyones posts soon. Have had a quick skim through and just want to say now -Deana - I am thinking of you. Really great advice from Buzzie too. I hope your situation improves quickly. Remember you have a gorgeous son who you mean the absolute world too. xx

Trip was fantastic. First three nights Chloe slept 7 pm - 2am but hasnt since (teaser!). We basically dragged her everywhere with us. She rarely slept in the travel cot at all! She was mostly in the car, baby bjorn, or on a random cusion/chair in a restaurant or at the beach. I managed to get two surfs in while DH minded her too which was great. Back to reality now. I have to start trying to get her daytime sleeping sorted. She cant self-settle and I am NOT going to be carrying her around for much longer! She is a heavy lump. Or as the Balinese say 'how many months?....three?....no....she is big baby!!'

Welcome back fuzzy! Sounds like you had an amazing time, how were the flights? And yay to Chloe for those great sleeps! I know what you mean about the daytime sleeps, Isaac doesn't really go down for a good sleep either, his best sleeps of the day are when I am wearing him or walking with him in the pram. I do both every day now so that he gets some good sleep.

Buzzie - thanks, I really have no idea with babies. Mum had a look and said his gums are swollen though, but yeah it could just be a thing that they go through at that age. All that drool was so unexpected though, I don't know where it all comes from!

Apes- Some thyroids are pretty easily controlled so hopefully she will be fine- with meds my levels go normal pretty quickly. The only thing they can say though is that Thyroid *can* lead to miscarriages..Though when I miscarried a couple of years ago the Dr couldn't say if it WAS that or if it was just "one of those things". a Thyroid condition can automatically make your sister a "high risk" which isn't as bad as it can sound- It will just mean she won't go under a midwife program and that she will get more care..My thyroid levels were really high mid pregnancy with Harlow (I think around 26w) and evenb seeing Endos and the Dr etc she was fine the whole pregnancy!

Bec - some days I had to put a bib on DS cos it was so bad!

Belfie - was it Annika or Xander that had/has eczema? If so what do you use? Bella now has it on her face

Buzzie - both my two have eczema bummer huh. We use very plain moisturiser & bath washes. I recommend the ego stuff... QV Bath oil is great (or the bath wash) and QV moisturing cream is great - any pharmacy should have it. I found the sorbolene wasn't enough moisturisy and the johnsons stuff just irritated them. if it's really dry you can get stuff called dermeze which is really greasy and just soaks right in... looks like they've been glazed lol. Also dermaveen is good too. I'd check with your GP/pharmacist before using medicated stuff tho... our paed said we could use a bit of dermaid (1%) on her face if it was really red... but I've rarely had to. First line is always to moisturise, moisturise, moisturise... and especially right after a bath is the best time to moisturise. I was doing it only once a day but I'm up to 3 times a day on Annika now, she seems to be getting dryer & dryer.

Have been reading but flat chat. My DH has vertigo. Has had ongoing issues sporadically for years and it's not a straightforward case/diagnosis but usually he doesn't get it much, maybe 2-3 episodes (few days) per year. But this one has been worse than usual, he's been dizzy on & off for a week now which means this lil' black duck has been very busy. It's such a bummer cos we've got so much social stuff on this weekend (like seriously best social weekend of the entire year!) and he's not well enough to go out... and so I'm going on my own... and trying to watch both kids, feed one & make sure the other doesn't eat foods he's allergic to. Arrrgh such a PITA

On the bright side... Annika is 3 months old omg that's gone so quick. And still BF'ing which is just a massive woo hoo for us. So in love with my gorgeous snuggly kids!

George had his 4 month immunisations today.. ouch! I was more sooky than him! Lol

He was also weighed and measured - 7.6kgs and 67cms. He has caught up and now exceeded.... for his age, he is in the 95th percentile. Introducing solids is happening just in time, all the milk he is drinking has way too many calories. He drinks around 1000mls a day.

I also took him to have a pic with Santa and the girls there were so good, they g0t a few pics we could choose from with him laughing! So cute!!

Hope you're all well... just a quick one today.

Belfie - thankyou, I have eczema too so I was using a stronger dermaid but would be my last resort for her, I use dermaveen in the shower - didn't know u can use it for kids I will definatly get some QV, do you just put it on as is or use it as a wash in water? thankyou for all that info. Ash had it very brief and I didn't really need to worry about it tho think alot might of been from drooling so much and causing a rash but Bella definatly has it all over her cheeks like I get I can't have anything as strong as I used to before kids cos obviously being steroid base still goes thru breastmilk.
So glad your breastfeeding is going so well for you

Connie - poor George, gees 4 months came quick! Hope he's ok with no side effects.
We tried to get Santa photos too.. Got Bella but Ash ran for the hills!

Fuzzie - welcome back! And yay for getting in a surf.

Connie - Go George - awesome work - and blah about the inejctions... hope you're both recovered.

Bec - I read in the Baby Love book by Robin Barker that babies this age drool a lot because they haven't yet learnt to swallow their saliva which they have just started to produce and a lot of babies have what appears to be buds in their gums that are visible. Not sure about swollen gums though... hope it doesn't make Isaac cranky.

This is going to sound weird - but how did you know Isaac had the squirts? I am guessing it was different to his usual poo?

Bit glum here - feeling off colour - have been pretty much all week - so instead of having a great day out at a friends for a chrissy party am stuck at home. The days always feel so much longer when you're not feeling the best huh? Going to sign off and hopefully get some sleep.

    Grrr for immunisations Connie!

Chloe has done some great new things in the past week. She has laughed! Luck a real chuckle and she can now do rasberries. Copying me and DH doing them to her. Oh and yep she is drooling a lot too

thanks Buzzie & Dory, it's probably nothing. just lots of drool! Mum mentioned the possibility of teething and all the things seemed to fit, but yeah it turns out to be just normal.

Dory - I think it was the squirts because it was so runny, exactly like yellow paint.. usually it is yellow with little lumps in it. He hadn't pooed for at least three days. That too could be normal? I don't know.

    fuzzy - ooh how cute!!

dory - I hope you feel better soon

big milestone here this morning! Isaac has learned to roll from his belly to his back, he did it 5 times in a row. First he did a kind of push up, lifting his back right up so that his neck and head were at 90 degrees from the floor, then pushed himself over. So proud of my little man!

Deana - So good to hear you guys are working it out. And yay for Blake sleeping through!!!

Bec - Have a great Christmas!! What a good boy Isaac is rolling over like that!

Fuzzy - George is drooling heaps too, and DH keeps wondering if he's teething, but I'm pretty certain he's not. Just normal drooling behaviour. It's so cute when they let out a chuckle... I cant wait for him to squeal in delight! She must look sooo cute doing those raspberries!

Dory - I know what you mean. Some days I just have no motivation to get anything done, and it feels like the days drag on. Sometimes I just look forward to 7pm when I can put George to bed... I feel bad saying that, but it's true. But the positive is that there are other days where I feel good and just get on with it all!

Buzzie - George was fine after the immunisations, he never seems to have any side effects or irritability, which is great!
Hahahaha it's so funny how kids can be so excited by the concept of Santa and then when the time comes to meet him, they get star struck and scared!

We gave George some rice cereal this morning... he wasn't really opening his mouth for it in the beginning. He was actually just laughing, so as he opened his mouth I was slipping it in! Hahaha At first he did a face like 'What the hell is this mummy?' but he got the hang of it and swallowed most of it. By the 3rd little spoonful he was opening his mouth slightly for it. So exciting!! DH and I did it together... George must have thought - what are these crazy people making all this fuss about and watching me for?? Lol

Between 5 and 6:30pm, George is at his crankiest, and there are only 2 things that calm him down - holding him and walking around the house (he's now almost 8kgs, I cant do that for more than 30 mins), OR taking him out on our balcony and sitting him on my knee facing out. We live in an apartment block, and he seems to love seeing the people, cars and trams go past. It's the only way I can sit down and he will be quiet. That's definitely the hardest time of the day!

Connie- Harlow has an unsettled period around that time of the day aswell and she settles in the same way..sitting outside on my knee-or being rocked for ages!!

Christmas= busy times here! Pushed my anxiety levels yesterday & went to DPs Family Christmas party..I never usually go anywhere but I did it..without much Anxiety- very proud of myself!

Harlows doing great, she sleeps 8 hours through the night and then wakes for a bottle and goes back down for another 4 hours so I use that time to clean and check emails & procrastinate. She has started sticking her tongue out copying me, it is SO cute!! she also sounds like she is trying her hardest to push out little giggles, she almost has it and just when you think she will do it-she stops! She talks away non stop to anyone who will listen to her, she gets pretty vocal-it is so funny!

Hello to all, sorry I haven't been on here much-each time I sit to write what i want to say, there is always something happening in the house!!!

Wite - good on you for challenging your comfort zone

Connie - 8 kg! Wow he has really caught up hasnt he! We seemed to have turned a corner with the witching hour. We usually walk Chloe in the pram with the dog around 5-5:30. We start her bedtime routine at 6 (bath-feed-story-feed-sleep) and she is asleep just before 7. She is a good girl at bed time now. But a really bad through-the-night sleeper.

Bec - your FB vids of Isaac rolling over has kicked us in the bum for not giving Chloe enough tummy time. So making a real effort to stick Chloe on her tummy for as long as she can take it at least 3 times a day now. She has really strong legs and neck but quite weak arms so need to work on that.

Chloe is still a terrible night sleeper. Well perhaps not terrible. Just not very good at the moment. She has taken to waking at 10:30pm then 12:30am then 4 am then 7am. Pretty much the same every night. This morning she also woke at 5am though with a cry and sore tummy. I am convinced its because of wind as she grizzles and then thrashes around and does lots of farts which seem to upset her. Hoping she grows out of this fast as I cant think of anything in my diet that would do it and we always get burps out of her.

We are undergoing sleep training here at the moment - yep lots of crying. She hasnt been able to self-soothe/settle so we are teaching her. I pop her in her cot awake say good night and kiss her then leave. I leave her to grizzle but when she starts to cry I leave her for a max of 5 mins then I go in and try and settle her in her cot by shhhsing noises and a gentle pat. If that doesnt work, I pick her up and hold her tight until she stops crying then pop her back in and go back to the shhsing noises until she falls asleep. Its Day 1 and its supposed to only take 3 days to start working so I will let you know how we go!

Does anyone else's bubs still have a long day sleep? Chloe has stopped her 2hr day sleep now and seems to just have sleeps of 45 mins

Well done Wite, I know exactly how you feel... my anxiety went through the roof again when I had George, but I continue to challenge myself and it has gotten heaps better.

Stick with it fuzzy, we did the same thing, and it took George about a week, but now when we put him down at bedtime, he falls asleep after about a minute of yelling out. She will get there - fingers crossed for you.
I am in the same boat as you with tummy time. We don't do it enough and George hasnt had a chance to build some arm strength - my fault. So now I am trying to do it more. I just feel like it can be hard to fit in. I cant do it right after a feed because it can cause him to throw up, but too long after 1 and he gets sleepy and grizzly.

George seems to be having 2 x 1 hour naps in the morning and afternoon, and a 1.5 - 2 hour nap between 12 and 2pm. So his naps have gotten heaps better. Still wakes up a bit grizzly and wants to be held and walked around the house heaps though. I think he just gets bored easily.

Day 2 of solids went well... in 2 days I'm going to try some pureed apple

How many poos do your bubs do a day? George does between 3 and 4! I dont know if thats a lot? About a month ago he only used to do 1 a day.

Bec - GL on your massive adventure! The ABA says BF babies can go up to 10 days without a poo! That would frighten me no end.

Deana - glad things are sorted and you and DP & Blake are back together as a fam! Sounds like Blake's reflux is manageable too?

Wite - awesome about Harlow sleeping so long! Must be bliss. And Good work for extending your comfort zone. It take a lot of courage. Bet you were proud of yourself afterwards despite the anxiety leading up to it.

Fuzzy - arggh - just when you think they are in a pattern - they change....does Chloe sleep a lot during the day? Are you still buzzing from your surf?

Connie - excellent news with the solids... about poos? Hannah is usually every 2 days. Admittedly it's a poonami when she does. Sometimes she sneaks an extra one in there. Seems that is just her. She doesn't seem to suffer from too many tummy pains, so I guess it's ok. My mum says I was the same - a two dayer. I would expect George to go more often once he starts solids!

About tummy time? Hannah loathes it. I can only get her down and enjoying it for about 5 mins. It has increased from about 1 min - so I am happy. I try different options rather than just laying on her tummy on the floor. I lay her on my chest, or legs, or hold her tummy down in one arm or sometimes I prop her on the fit ball whilst holding it of course. I used to worry about it that I was not doing it enough and I am always checking for a flat spot... but I can only work within the limits of Hannah's tolerance. I can't bear to hear her scream... and besides I would like it to be a happy time for her. There is so much to do and so many thing we can feel guilty about. This is one I choose not to be too concerned about. Apparently there is a fair age range for being able to roll - so don't worry. Hannah's not even that interested, even when I show her what to do. But she loves to sit up. TBH - it will all happen in it's own time.

Hannah is pretty god at nights - not like Harlow yet - but usually asleep btn 7-8 and sleep til 12-3 and then again til 5-7. Once she slept for 12 hours! I almost fell over when i realised. I have no idea why her sleep routine varies so much. There is no pattern at all to her day sleeps, despite my best efforts! Some days a long sleep of 3-5 hours, some days lots of cat naps of an hour or so. Again I don't know why. I think I try to do roughly the same thing with her in terms of sleep routine and amount of time to grizzle... she's just my wonderful individual.

LOL - Hannah was showing no signs of going to sleep earlier - tunefully vocalising and kicking like mad - so I decided to get ready to go to the shops - need some milk and new teats! I had just gotten everything ready and hung out a load of washing and folded another up then went in to her room to find her fast asleep! At least it gave me time to get on to BB.

Oh narrowly averted disaster here on Sat - I put some bottles on to boil to steralize and forgot about them. Pot boiled dry and the bottles melted but fortunately not completely - was able to save the pot, but had to buy 2 replacement bottles... but got newborn teats... DUH. So have to buy some more teats. I hope I don't do that again. It's scary thinking I could have started a house fire by being so forgetful.

Finally got to go for a walk, without it raining, and Hannah loved it. I thought of George sitting on his balcony watching the world go by and of Isaac too, was it also Annika that loved to sit outside?. Hannah was fascinated by the trees and birds. A couple of weeks ago not so much. They change so quickly. I am looking forward to taking her into the art gallery to see if she likes the big pictures. I am not a big art buff, but sometimes the tranquility of the gallery is nice and to look at the paintings can be interesting. Argggh just realised that as it's so peaceful in there, if she gets fussy it will be very obvious and loud. Wonder if I am prepared for that? One way to find out.

Have a great day and big Wednesday hello to Kirsten, Buzzy, Belfie ( love the new pic of A too - very cute in her hat), Pantha, and Catherine.

Connie - yay! I cant wait to try solids with Chloe. She does 3-4 poos a day too.

Dory - my gosh yes lucky you didnt burn the house down! Hannah sounds like a gorgeous little princess - I love the pic in your signature.

Had another night of 11-2:30-4:30-7. I am kind of used to it now and she does only feed for 5 mins as she is a guzzler then goes back to sleep. Sometimes I think that i barely wake up! I dream that I am feeding her and wake up and she is not there and I freak out before realising she is in her cot. LOL

I found my baby book last night where mum recorded all my milestones. I was pushing myself up on my arms on my tummy at 2 months old! Gee how things are different now we have to sleep them on their backs - they just dont develop that strength so quickly.
