Ladies, I think we ALL get frustrated at times and either throw something, or yell or do something else we may not be proud of - it's not something we want to brag about, but it's real, and it's ok.

Today I was trying to give G a bottle, and he kept getting his hands in the way, I ended up pushing his hands down and saying 'HANDS DOWN!' quite loud, that caused him to crack up and laugh like a crazy man out loud! Lol I couldn't stay made after that - cheeky monkey.

George will be baptised Greek Orthodox, because both me and DH are Greek Orthodox, we got married in a Greek Orthodox church, and we actually take part in the Greek Orthodox traditions... so it was never really a question for us. For poor George, it means that instead of just having some water put on his head, he will be naked and get dunked into it 3 times! Non-Greek people seem to find it a little traumatic, but we're used to it and just think it's cute and special.

Connie - sometimes they just make you laugh huh? we had the option of getting Hannah fully naked and dunked 3 times, but chose not to. I'll bet George will love it and laugh aloud. GL with the planning. I don't know much at all about greek orthodox church and traditions - might have to educate myself a little.

Bec - I have a thing coming up that I am wanting some photos taken at...pity we live so far apart else I would have asked you.

I am just about to go off to my mother's group - it will be the first one I've been to since December last year. Feels like ages ago. Just hasn't ever really worked out that it's been good for me, and the crazy weather has had a hand in me missing a few too. Hannah is asleep and I am reluctant to wake her... but I am going to. Then after MG it's of to medicare - yay. But I've found that Thursday arvo is usually very quiet in there and as a consequence - it's fast.

fuzzy - thanks, I've heard hammocks are good for babies with reflux, Isaac doesn't have that but he gets really bad wind pains so I think it might help him. That's so cute about Chloe going underwater, that's exactly how they do it at swimming lessons. Isaac does the same, comes up looking a bit shocked

Buzzie - aww thanks, I'm not hoping for someone to sweep me off my feet though, I'm quite happy on my own. Well with my little man anyway! I don't know how I would handle someone else coming into our little family and changing it. I'm with you on the gymbaroo/kindergym.. I want to take Isaac just as another reason to get out of the house and meet people, and Isaac just loves watching people and other kids so I think it'd be good for him instead of having only me to look at every day.

dory - I agree I think cats would find hammocks a very comfy place to sleep so probably not a great idea for Hannah. And thank you I'd love to take photos for you! If only I wasn't on the other side of the country lol.

Connie - wow Georges baptism sounds like it'll be a big event! Good luck with the planning.

Re frustrations etc.. I know exactly where you're all coming from. I felt so bad the other day, I was stressed because I had an assignment due and Isaac hadnt slept for longer than half an hour in a row all day, had hardly any sleep the night before, he was so grumbly and I was trying to settle him to sleep, I just wanted him to be quiet and all of a sudden I just whacked the fitball out of my way, pretty hard too. Like you Dory, I'm very patient person so for me to get so frustrated like that was pretty scary. That was the point where I decided to put off uni until a bit further down the track.

Bec - bella is the same, just watches everyone and the kids, we do visual things infront of there face but she's too busy watching the lady's next to me doing it lol we did some dancing and she thought it was hilarious!
Can understand not wanting someone when you have your little thing happening, there was a big part of me that fought for rob cos I couldn't even contemplate having someone else in my world changing everything. I was quite happy fir a long time it being just Ash and me

Finally found another playgroup and we start tomorrow! Can't wait but so hope it goes well having the 2 kids on my own with DS running a muck lol

Aaah I've been reading but haven't had time to catch-up. Bit mental week here.
    So in thought/point form.

Frustration... arrrgh omg have very much been there. Parenting is incredibly challenging and I think we all redefine our limits along the way. It pushes us, challenges, teaches us (and not always kindly). And there will always be some times and some actions that we're not quite so proud of... it's part of being a parent. And I guess we just have to pick ourselves back up, learn from it, forgive ourselves & keep going. I've definitely got some less fine moments that I remember with a cringe.

Study - my goodness I take my hat off to anyone attempting study with a bub. I'll be honest I don't think I could have done it with 1 or 2 or more kids. Just sooo tough.

Gymbaroo - some girls in my MG tried it, and the general concensus appeared to be that the bubs didn't get a GREAT deal from it at this age... so saying, most places will let you trial a class. I'd recommend try b4 u buy if u can.

Connie - nudie George getting dunked that just cracked me up

Bec - l know there was some recall issues with the Amby hammock and I don't know if htat gave others bad press too. I know the special care nursery at my hossie had a couple which they used when the bubs were unsettled (my Annika had a stint in one) so I assume they're pretty good. A friend of mine from BB used one & loved it, but then found it hard transitioning her bub into a stationary bed/cot IYKWIM... but got thru it. I reckon it would be lovely for the bub!
EDIT: sorry I meant to say congrats on your RAK too, that's so nice when you were having such a foul week.

Buzzie - is my head not on.. have u got a new place yet? We really should organise a catch-up while you're still nearby!

Dory - hope you had a better night and tonight is good too. No more gastro here thank goodness.

Fuzzy - that's great re the swimming. I meant to take DS swimming more than I have ooops! I think Chloe is a right little waterbaby!

AFM... well I'm truly cursed with interesting times. My dog went to Tassie with my mum on Tues and is now "rehomed" with my bro. It's gone well thank goodness she seems to be getting along well with her new doggy sister. Putting her in the crate to go on the plane just broke my heart though . Then of course I was missing mum too. Plus the night before I found out that my role at work is being made redundant, so now I'm busy dealing with palaver over that... and of course DH still isn't well. He saw a different specialist this week, change of diagnosis & new meds. They reckon it's a weird kinda migraine. 2 mth migraine hmmm . He's also got an MRI later this month so we'll see if that sheds any light. Missie Annika seems to be teething and is sleeping horribly in the day but still good at night. I wouldn't mind if she slept badly but was happy... but no she gets too tired & is very grizzly & grumpy. So saying I had an AWESOME day today (DS at daycare) cos I got my haircut, dyed it (myself), new mat bra & toenails painted WOOT! So I'm feeling ready to cope with everything/anything now lol... hopefully it'll last.

Omg belfie what a handful to deal with you poor thing. So sad you were upset with your dog. I would hate to have put mine in a crate, but what can you do if there's on other choice, so glad she's happy now. My house is still very quiet.
I haven't moved yet, still looking but want to stay in wantirna ish area cos Ash is loving childcare and I love my playgroup now.

ssshed, patted, rocked, sung, cuddled, lying down together, panadol, bonjela, sleepywrapped, stroller in front hallway (couldn't go near X's room). Stroller finally worked am guessing I'll get 20 mins.

Her sleep (or lack thereof) is driving me NUTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HANG IN THERE Belfie!!!!! YOU CAN DO IT!!!! But I so know how you feel about the lack of sleep. Hannah gets about 10 mins nap and thinks she doesn't need anymore.... but I know better.
I really liked what you said about parenting and it redefining limits.....

AFM - well not many persies today.... we've had a fizzer of a day... today I WAS going to redeem a day spa voucher I was given for christmas... arranged it with my aunt to take a day off work to babysit Hannah... well I got into town (took about 30 mins) and my aunt called me and I could hear Hannah absolutely crying inconsolably... needless to say I walked in and asked to reschedule and started crying myself and then I zoomed home. Then my aunt (who is not the teary sort at all) and I burst into tears and Hannah was still in tears. Hannah took about 10-15 mins to settle, then had a nap on the breast. Then my aunt and I went out for lunch and Hannah was all smiles. Guess we just need to practice being with other people in small increments and Hannah and I need to spend more time with my aunt. So there goes any idea of having Hannah babysat whilst I study or go out, at least for a little while. But I will try again, but in smaller time increments and be much much closer to home. Looking on the bright side, my baby needs me

lol Sorry Belfie i didnt read that properly ... i knew u has issues with DH i didnt click then sorry

Bella isnt much of a day sleeper either.. lucky to get a couple 10-15mins at a time but shes a night ish sleeper so thats ok, i would prefer that i think.

Dory - its so hard when bubs are like that.. i always remember the first time i got to go back to the gym i was soooo excited, mum rang halfway thru a weights class saying he was screaming, so i had to leave and by the time i got home he was asleep!! wasnt happy but yes as you say, our bubs need us..
Robs mum is brilliant with the kids but lately Bella has been screaming with her so im hesitant leaving her now... im sure hannah will get there mummys are so important at this age... gotta love that though.

wow you lot are a talkative bunch today

Buzzie - I'm so happy for you that things are working out now after all the crap you went through. That's awesome about playgroup! We have it on Fridays too, today was our first one. It was fun, Isaac loved looking at all the babies and even grabbed one on the cheek! Only softly though luckily, he's getting so strong. Almost all the mums from mothers group go too, and also to the same swimming class, it's a great group. We went out for lunch after play group today, so happy to finally be making some friends here.

Belfie - oh dear I really don't know what to say. It sounds like you've been having so many things going wrong lately, I really feel for you. I so hope things start improving soon. As they say in swahili, pole sana (no english equivalent, but something like I have great empathy for you) .
Thanks for that about the Amby hammock. I'm looking at getting a 'Happy Hangup' which looks like a completely different thing. I'm getting it for daytime sleeps as Isaac will be mobile soon and I won't be able to put him on my bed on his own anymore, and I've stopped putting him on the floor to sleep as we've had lots of redback spiders around (well 3 anyway which I count as a lot). The best way for me to get him to sleep is by bouncing on a fit ball so he's already used to bouncing and I think it'll be good for his wind pains.

dory - oh no. Apparently our bubs are around the age where they go through a 'clingy' stage, it sounds like Hannah doesn't want to be apart from you. Hopefully you get your day spa visit soon, you deserve a treat like that.

I am just so tired. Isaac was up every 2 hours last night with either belly pains or feeding or because it was so hot. He's just gone to sleep now, but like you Belfie I'm guessing he'll be awake before long.

Bec - hmm forgot what I was going to type. .... hope you get some rest today and Isaac sleeps a little better.... Uhm... I knew they went through a stranger awareness phase from about 4/5 months and separation anxiety starting from about 6 months. I was just hoping Hannah would be ok with my aunt, who she does see, but not every day. But we're just going to have to work at it

Buzzie - at least I didn't get half way through to return to a sleeper which would have been frustrating... I didn't even start (which is better, can you imagine me with only one brow waxed ? Or half a pedicure? Or half a facial? ... ) and I returned to a screamer. So it was totally worth it to come back. Honestly I didn't mind, as I was sort of expecting it but hoping to eke out more than 10 mins. But DH says last time he looked after Hannah when I had the MRI, I was gone 2 1/2 hours and he said she was starting to look for me, and Hannah sees DH every day and he does things with her every day.

Belfie - I wanted to say that I hope the new meds work for DH... and if he's just having a head MRI that will probably be around 20-30 mins. If he's nervous about it he should start practising going to a "safe or happy place" mentally. It gets pretty noisy during the MRI and it could be really easy to panic. I found it best if I just closed my eyes before I went in and just counted and tried to breathe very slowly. It was tempted to open my eyes but I kept them shut. You are given a buzzer to hold and press if you get freaked out. Honestly, the first 20 mins flew by for me, which I didn't expect. The weirdest thing for me was in all honesty, being in public without a bra on, but I doubt that would apply to your DH...

Hello to those mums we haven't heard from for a while. Hope you're ok. Pantha, Deana, Kirsten, Wite ( still don't know how you even attempted to do something with a lobster with Harlow in the sleepy wrap...)

Weeeeell he has gained some weight .... but nah not really! I reckon he'll be ok, he's had one before years ago & I had a head one at the start of my PG last year. I think the head one is way better than I imagine a full one would be.

I just need to have a little vent in here.. today after playgroup some of us went out for lunch, which was lovely, but one of the ladies who has started her baby on solids early was feeding her baby chips. Salty, oily, fatty disgusting deep fried in who knows what kind of oil chips. And she's not even six months old yet. I know, I know, each to their own and it's her baby etc.. but it just annoys me so much that people just don't think about what is going into their babies bodies. No wonder the obesity rates are so high.

    Rant over.

Bec - pole sana! Totally agree that seems ... odd to put it mildly!

Dory - 2 days after my BFP I had a very weird migraine (mainly for the fact I don't get migraines!) was at work, lost half my vision, couldn't talk, then numb/tingles all down right side, arm, face. Left work on my own (stupid!), caught a cab to dr who told me to go straight to ED. Ended up having full works done cos they were worried it was a stroke or something, but they all decided it was just a weird migraine without the migraine headache bit in the end! Everyone concluded I was just a drama queen trying to get attention mwahaha. I felt liike a right idiot when I couldn't talk properly!
Oh and yes, i look hot hot HOT!

Bec - I'm pretty shocked by that... apart from the fact that she is probably setting up some very bad habits, I'm not even sure how a baby that young would be eating chips. That was obviously not the first time. I find that a little disappointing... the poor child doesn't have a say at this point what she eats.

Belfie lol.. I thought it was really odd too.

Connie - I was shocked when I seen it. She started her baby on solids at three months and that was at the end of November so I think she'd be just under 6 months now. She feeds her a lot of food, even chicken bones. At a point where the main food should still be milk (even though she is ff), I just think it is way too much for a little bodies system to take.. and I agree, it's sad for the baby being so little and having no say. I think nutrition is just so important, and it's going to be a very long time before I let Isaac have anything like hot chips.
