Bec - oh I am so happy for you... yay for more sleeping.... 14 hours is pretty amazing.... you must feel like a new woman.

I have felt bad for what I wrote as I have been thinking about it and was worried it sounded to judgemental? it wasn't meant that way and I am sorry if it sounded that way to you. Also I had a wry smile last night as I thought about my words to you...

Hannah had a rough night - it was a big day for us emotionally yesterday and she was amazing when she needed to be, but last night she initially wouldn't sleep for more than 45 mins at a go - so one sleep cycle at a time ... it didn't seem like wind and she had a snuffley nose and she would just cry if she was anything but vertical after the third time she woke up. So I let her fall asleep on me in the rocking chair and I dozed off too. Then I tried the lounge but I was not comfy. About 2am I fed her and once she was asleep put her in her bassinette with one end propped up. She did well - she lasted for 2 hours this time, and then after a feed and a snuggle another 2 hours. At 6.30am I finally got to bed and got a good 2 hours sleep. Wow am I tried today. Wiped out from all the emotions of yesterday and physically tired. But today she's slept well - 3 1/2 hours and just went down again at 4pm. 4pm isn't the best time to go down again but it's better that she is asleep...

Fuzzy - the literature and seminars I've been to says that gagging is completely normal, but there not been anything mentioned about the vomiting. I would give parentline or the healthline a call to check. It might be that she's not ready or it might be one particular food? Poor wee girl. Letting them play with it themselves makes it very messy....

Connie - how are those plans coming along?

Belfie - oh I am so pleased that Miss A has turned the sleeping corner. You must feel like you have some sanity back.... and you need it with all that you have to manage at the mo. Sorry that DH is not much better....

Well - yesterday was Amelia's 2nd angel versary and we also interred the ashes of all babies yesterday. It was time, I know it's been a while, but circumstances have just been that the time hasn't been right. It was the first angel versary since Hannah's birth and it was hard. The little service we had to inter the ashes was really nice, just DH Hannah and I and a friend. We released balloons and butterflies and had some custom candles made and we read out a few words we had written. Releasing the butterflies and balloons was much more healing than I thought it would be. Hannah was a star. At one point when I was reading DH was holding her and of course I was crying and she reached out and touched my shoulder.... she's never done that before and it was a pretty amazing time to do it for the first time. Precious little girl. She didn't cry or fuss the whole time. I am so proud of her. She even dipped her hands in the rose petals and helped scatter them, and didn't even try to eat them. It's sad but it was time. So really just feeling quite low today, so it's been a quiet day at home for us... and also I do think Hannah has a cold.

big hugs for you Dory I don't really know what to say, yesterday must have been so hard for you. I can't imagine. More hugs.

I had to go back and read your last post to see what you were referring to.. don't worry I wasn't offended at all! I thought you gave some really good advice, and I even planned to try using the jolly jumper earlier in the day the next day like you suggested, and also to wake up earlier like I think Connie suggested but I didn't need to as trhe hammock seemed to work. I hope Hannah has a better night and I hope you get some rest.

    Morning girls,

Hope you are all more rested than me! lol

My gosh its 59 days of summer over 30 degrees and day 20 in a row today. Forecast for 34 or higher for at least the next week. Our house SUCKS for aircon. have like 3 systems going to even make a dent in it. Going to hate to see the power bill

Fuzzy - argghhh - a long hot summer in Perth this year.... bet you're glad you're not preggers in this heat... that would be even more diabolical. How's Chloe going? Any more vomitting after food? I did read one article that said vomiting and diarrhoea can mean an allergy to first foods, but also that they are rare.

Bec - how did you go last night with Isaac's sleeping?

Poor Miss Hannah has a cold, but she is such a little trooper - still tries to smile. She is so snuffley, but the saline doesn't seem to be making a dent in it, but so far she's had no trouble feeding or loss of appetite or fever which is good. We had a better night - 8 hours from about 7.30am to 2.30am then every two hours since then. Poor wee girl woke up with a fright or maybe wind pain? She starts whimpering in her sleep and then cries out and then really cries, but she's not really awake. I still comfort her ... and sometimes she wakes up and really cries some, but then settles down. Ah, I adore her so much.... how is it we are so lucky?

Connie - how is George going with his weight gain now?

Belfie - how did Xander go with his allergy results? Go Miss Annika for being such a good sleeper now. Bet you're glad you got the sleep consultant out.

Chuckie - is Pearl sleeping a little better?

A big hello to those we haven't heard from for a while - if you're still following us - Wite & Harlow, Kirsten & Sam, Buzzie & Bella, Pantha & Lotte, Deana & Blake, and to little Penny.

    Three quick things.

Firstly - Dory - big big hugs to you. I don't quite know what to say, I can't imagine how it must have felt for you having the angelversary but thank you for sharing with us

    Secondly - I'm off for a massage/pamper session omg I'm so excited.

Thirdly - FINALLY got my baby bonus application approved - yeah how long did that take!?!?! (DH being self-employed, it was messy and they kept not telling me that they didn't like what i"d submitted... bah!). So first payment today... about effing time WOO HOO!!

Dory - poor little hannah! Have you tried one of those vaporiser thingys? A friend said it worked wodners when her bub had a cold. She sounds like she is battling through it really well though

Belfie - Hooray for baby bonus!!! I think mine runs out soon Are you still donating EBM?

Bec - how is Isaac going with his sleep?

Connie - how much is George eating now?

    Hi everyone else

As for Chloe and food - it wasnt a vomit like the food was not agreeing with her it was more of a vomit because she gagged so violently. Chocked, gagged then vomit. We havent given her any solids for about 4 days now. I will defrost some puree and try her again tomorrow though. Will try the rice + EBM again I think

Weighed her yesterday she is 7.2 kg (same as a month ago...is that normal?) and 66 cm long (longer!)

fuzzy - hope it cools down for you soon, it's awful when it's too hot. Oh poor Chloe with the gagging and vomiting. Let us know how you go tomorrow.

Belfie - yay! I can't believe you've only just got it now. I think I've only got a few payments to go, I'm not sure. I've been very good and not spending any of it, though I have been tempted! So jealous of your massage, enjoy!

dory - oh poor Hannah with her cold. Hope she's feeling not so snuffly soon.

Isaac has been sleeping better during the problem time (7pm-midnight). Last night was a bit bad though, but I just discovered a little coping strategy that seemed to work for me.. I've found I've been getting upset and frustrated and angry when nothing I do works. Anyway this probably sounds silly but last night when he wouldn't stop crying from a reason I couldn't figure out, I cuddled him while bouncing on the fit ball and said softly things like 'I am a strong mama, I can deal with this, this baby needs to feel loved, safe and protected' and some other things like that, and I felt so much better, very calm, and Isaac must have picked up on it as he settled really quickly. I am a bit jealous sometimes of people who have a partner they can share those times with so I need to have some kind of strategies up my sleeve otherwise sometimes I think I would go insane.

I can't remember who it was that mentioned making pram liners? Well I borrowed one from a friend yesterday to make one to see how it turned out. I altered the design, made my own pattern from it and I love it! I have an order for one already! SO excited. It's actually a specially shaped wrap with harness holes in it so you don't have to unwrap bub to put them in a car seat or pram. And they can be nicely wrapped while still safely buckled. The one I made has polar fleece on the inside, but I'm going to order some gorgeous minky fabric to make some ready for winter. They look so snuggly and warm, ooh I can't wait to start on them

Bec - 1 order here when they are ready! No it doesnt sound silly, the things you say to yourself. Our little bubs are so in tune with us and our emotions. We spend all our time with them so its not surprising really. It is really impressive - doing all of this by yourself too.

Has anyone elses bubs started to become clingy? I leave the room and Chloe thinks I am abandoning her and starts to cry!

Bec - totally agree re bubs picking up on the vibes. Huge hats off to you and Buzzie who's done a lot of it on her own, I don't know how you do it tbh... I feel like I've done it mostly on my own the last few months and it is seriously tough! It's relentless and exhausting! And that's when your frazzle comes on and your calm goes out the window! I sometimes softly recite what i"m trying to do and it helps remind, calm & focus me. Re pram liners, awesome I'll have to check them out. Look at pramskins (google) its' a WAHM (I think!?) little business in melb 'burbs and I've always admired her product, customer service & brand.

Gagging. We had lots of gagging followed by projectile vomiting with X. We ended up seeing a speech path and discovered he had a hypersensitive gag reflex which is when you can start getting vomiting after the gag. Some kids will do that more easily than others. In our case he started getting quite distressed by it and was developing quite a food aversion and would only take a few tsp-tbs food at ~8mths (and just didn't seem interested in food the entire time). I had been really interested in BLS but it just didn't work for us. We actuallly went back to basics with lots messy food play, very dissovable foods (ok so this is for more down the track) and very simple watery purees. I know they say that before they're ready for solids they often will gag - they can't work out what to do with it when it hits the back of their mouth. So it could well be a sign that she's not quite ready yet. If it were me - I'd pull back but try again quite soon. Sometimes a bit of gagging and occasional spew is them working out what's happening & how to manage the food. But if the vomiting is happening all the time that you want to watch what's happening and be careful it doesn't become aversive for them. Have a read up about it, there should be a fair bit if you google it.
Sorry just read back and realised it's Chloe/Fuzzy. I reckon what you tried with the apple is great, and it doesn't matter if it makes a mess (I say that from here hahaha). It's all about them getting used to textures & playing. You might find that nice squishy food (yoghurt, watermelon) down the track a bit is great for play.
Oh and yes I'm still donating EBM. I'm a regular moo cow it seems, great supply lol.

Dory - I am a million times glad I got the consultant!!

    Hi to everyone I've missed

Bec - I so say those types things to myself too, usually after losing my cool first, but I like what you said better. I am going to print it out and learn it off by heart. I mentioned the pram liners. I would love to order one too! Hmm jungle animal print with white background.... not that I am choosey or anything. I can even get the fabric and send it to you. Can you put a picture on FB? And I am with Belfie - YOU ARE AMAZING, never forget that.

Fuzzy - Hannah is clingy too... not sure about the weight gain... but ask yourself, if she's otherwise healthy and has a good appetite. If the answers are yes, then maybe she's just had a lull and will have a spurt soon.

Belfie - how did you get into donating EBM? Not that I seem to have a great supply, but am interested.

Ah well, that's me. Thanks for the tip on the vaporised. Will investigate at the chemist tomorrow. Night

Thanks for the advice Belfie. I will be careful to try and avoid causing a food aversion. Its been 4 days without trying so I will give it a try tomorrow with really runny apple puree and see how she goes. If she vomits I will leave it another week.

Sorry Fuzzy - now I think I sounded like a panic merchant! It took us quite some months to get to a bad point, so I'm sure a few days won't hurt.

Dory - I was "put in touch" with a lovely lady who had a skinny baby born a week after mine. We're now good friends, and her "skinny" baby is a little less skinny. She's probably about to stop using the milk too.

Belfie - I checked out pramskins, looks awesome! A bit different to what I am doing though, but looks like a great business.. well done to her. And a huge well done to you too, I didn't realise you were still donating ebm. One day you're going to look back and realise just what a super mama you really are right now.

dory, that fabric sounds great. They aren't really pram liners though, more like a blanket that bub can be wrapped in which goes in the pram or car seat, the harness straps go through so baby can be all wrapped up while buckled. Still acts as a liner though as bub is sitting in it rather than the pram/car seat. Here is a pic, this is the first one just made with some polar fleece and material I had at home. The minky ones will be much nicer. I can make you one if it's what you're after.

Bec - they look awesome.... even though it's quite warm up here, when I take Hannah for a walk in the pram in the evenings it's quite windy. What I have been doing is wrapping a muslin or other blanket around her legs and chest, but keeping her arms free. Your blanket thingy looks like a perfect solution. Can I order one? Do you want me to go through "Made It"?

Hope Isaac had a better night. Hannah is now starting to have some snot come out of her nose instead of being snuffley. a Bit gross when shes sneezes... I just realised he has eyebrows - Hannah does too but you can't see hers. I think it makes Isaac look older than he is.. the eyebrows.

Fuzzy - hope Chloe is going better with her feeding and clingyness. Hope you're coping in the heat.

Belfie - I can feel in your posts that you are a new woman with Miss A sleeping better. Yay.

All good here. I think I am coming down with a cold... just makes it harder to do the things I need to. I did some weeding yesterday and only one little bit more to go and the front garden will be weeded. It was like a jungle. Then it's on to the back garden. By the time I finish that it will be time again for the front.... arghh. I am thinking of planting a nice little ground cover that is hopefully not too invasive and thrives on neglect that will out compete the weeds. And I'll plant some more muraya, they are our angel trees. We planted some in memory of all 3 angels last year, and it's time to plant some more. They are low maintenance and thrive on neglect. I really don't have a greeen thumb at all and prefer NO maintenance gardens.... once I feel happy with the outside I can keep going on the inside of the house. After not doing much of anything for last year I am champing at the bit. LOL

Dory - haha yes Isaac has eyebrows.. pretty funny ones too! They make some of his facial expressions funny. A lot of people have said that he looks older too, like they can see what he'll look like when he grows up. I know what you mean about no maintenance gardens, mine is awful.. does not thrive on neglect but unfortunately I don't have the motivation to get out and weed it in the heat. Yes of course you can order one, I'm thinking of not using Made It, and just going through facebook and maybe Etsy, but you can just tell me what you want by pm. I'll pm you about it.

I've noticed lately Isaacs wet nappies really smell.. is it normal for him to have such strong smelling wee?

    Hellllllooooo!!!

Wow, I sure have neglected you girls-and missed you all!! no excuses apart from that i juist couldn't be bothered..I'm in a bit of a funk at the moment, I'm sure it's not depression and i'm sure it isn't PND..I'm just..meh, I don't know..In a funk! Anyway, I'm back and glad to be back, I realised that you girls are just the best-unlike some of my "real life" friends who play the big "comparing game" with their babies against Harlow (Mind you..some doing it, their babies are 3 months OLDER lol lol!!!), you girls keep it real, honest & always offer fantastic advice.

I read back on the last 2 pages of posts and I should have taken notes because my mind is like a sieve at the moment..!

Bec- Jett always had smelly wee...still does- I guess it is just a boy thing-thugh I do find when harlow wakes up her wee is a bit woofy aswell, maybebecause she does a couple of wees overnight that it is a "stale" smell..

Dory- Massive hugs, what a trying time for you andyour family with the ashes...but how beautiful of Hannah to put her hand on your shoudler..almost like she "knew"..she must have an angel by her side

Fuzzy- Harlow isn't clingy but I do find if she is playing on the floor and I leave the room-she turns into a complete drama queen! I end up putting a container full of toys infront of her just so i can go to the loo at times!!!

Well, It has been an exhausting weekend for us....Jett was in Hospital Saturday night because he wasn't breathing right at all, DP took him because my anxiety is really bad at the moment, the dr reffered him straight to Hospital where he stayed from 9pm til 2am. I felt like the worst mother on earth-what kind of a mum can't be there for her son when he needs her the most? Thanks to some great friends they helped me realise that I was at home watching the baby, David was with Jett so he was going to be ok. Turns out he has asthma and is now on a Ventolin puffer & steroids. he had a virus/cold a couple of days leading up to the hospital trip which apparently highlighted the fact he had asthma..we thougth he just had hayfever so luckily we got him checked out...

Harlow caught whatever virus Jett had and is blowing some amazing snot bubbles *gag*, she's been sleeping crap the past couple of days which is the first time in 20 weeks that she has woken up throughout the night so I am NOT used to that at all, nor do I like it.

We started Harlow on solids. we didn't need to because she was sleeping through the night, putting on the weight and hitting milestones etc..but she has been watching us eat and opening her mouth copying our actions so I thought we would try her on a bit of rice cereal, wowsers-she started to eat like she has been doing it all her life! She has been on that since Thursday and going well so far-how long do we keep them on cereal and introduce new foods??

Hope each and everyone one of you girls, your families & gorgeous bubs are all doing well...xox
