Are your nipples cracked or grazed?

Maybe send dh to chemist (think they sell them) for some nipple shields?

Have you rang ABA? They are lovely and I think I had them on speed dial my first time round!! It could be an attachment issue that is causing so much pain.

The first 6 weeks are the toughest when establishing bf. It feels as if you are a cow! I like to think that's why babies begin to smile and respond around the same time it makes it all feel worth while!

For what it's worth you will have these types of days when formula feeding too (obviously without the pain). It does get better I promise! Just keep hydrated as much as possible and get dh to bring lots of snacks.
