anyways hope everyones having a good day mwah mwah
Hi Lovely Ladies ... just a quick one atm (& pls don't be offended that I'm not going to try & catch up with the last few months) ... all is going well, love being back in QLD but not much success with the ex & the boys. Going thro one mediation service after another in the attempt he will attend. He knows I'm here though. Anyway ... boys are doing gr8, esp being on the FAILSAFE diet. Jack's speech is so clear & he's in a (king) single bed now, as he was refusing to sleep in his toddler bed & wldn't have those anti roll out bars on it; thus he did roll out but still, wldn't let me put it back on ... i' m doing gr8, can't remember the last time i took an anti depressant :-) so i'm happy with that. Helps having a few more friends around. Plus all the kids parties we are now attending, alot more adult interation. Anyway, enough blab from me for now ... off to decide whats next (on career's leave with Alex) on my agenda ... bbs xox
Well more on the clothes shopping front - we were out last night and I stumbled across a shop that purportedly sells larger sizes, so I go in there, pick a whole heap out in their largest size (which *should* be a little too big on me) ...and they we all lovely, and fit beautifully...EXCEPT across the boosies which were strangled to within an inch of their life. So I'm standing there in the change room thinking pretty ****ing ironic when I'll be having an unwanted unrequested radical boob reduction in a month. Arte I'm not like you, I don't want them to make me look fabulous, I just want to clothe my nakedness without looking like a overstuffed grandmotherly turkey. It's not a lot to ask.....!!!!! Did I mention I go through this *every summer* and it IS one of the main reasons it is my least favorite season of the year!
Arte - yeah hehe figured you already had them planted...also figured you were at a disadvantage with the soil temp...have they germinated yet? You might need to hothouse them under a milk or softdrink bottle for a bit (oops giving away my trade secrets - sssssssh). YAY for camping, sounds like you will have an excellent time.
MM - hope you had a lovely time with DH last night . Re the nappy rash, I have discovered the ultimate pharmacy cream, it's canesten & sigmacort mixed together in the one tube - called hydrozole, you can buy it over the counter.
Clare, so sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings. You know I"m already feeling the pain. In fact when I first found out I was so distressed I couldn't even speak of it. At least it sounds like L will get a run in Sprout for a little while longer.
Well I"m off to the Craft and Quilt show, who knows it might inspire me to finish sorting the spare room so there is actually room to get my sewing machine out. It's DD1's sports day today, I ****Loathe**** sports days, so DH is doing the parently duties there. I did my bit providing green tshirts and crepe paper pompoms laced with tinsel.
Rainy: been awhile since we heard from you...hope you guys avoided the gastro thingy...i think that was what it was wasnt it?? arrghh brain like a sieve ATM LOL!
MM: yeah the decals are from a place in italy. it's actually a french brand, and there were sooo many beautiful ones to choose from....stood there for a good 20 minutes humming and ahhhhing LOL!
Noni: congrats babe! :fingerscrossed: that it all goes well and you guys can mesh...and bring in the christmas cash!!
Andie: OMG! welcome back babe! it has been awhile. sorry to hear that it hasnt been great with the ex. BUT fantastic news that you are doing so well!! and woot woo to J sleeping in a real big boys bed!!
MD: that would have been horrid to go through...and i have to say that after being good friends with a girl for many years with larger boobies, i had no idea until i met her how HARD it was to find clothes/bras that were not only nice, but actually fit. hope you are feeling ok and have some way of spoiling yourself today...facial anyone??!!
AFM: all good here. had our first houseguest stay over last night. so the lounge does work as a bedroom for now. cant wait til we can slap up the wall though! the poor guy has allergies to cats and we have 2 of them...and of course they took a shine to him.......cats.
Leila and I had a blast at the kindy excursion yesterday to the state library. there was a baby bounce session and she totally got into it...helped by the presence of egg shakers...she was grooving to all the cool hits like humpty dumpty and old duke of york and polly put the kettle on etc etc. and the tram ride with all her little mates was just too cute!
MD - Awww, so I dont know if I missed it but you decide to remove the other breast as well? Maybe you can 'downsize' your new boobies a bit? hehehe. MD all I can say is I wish I had a decent set of boobs lol. Thanks for the nappy rash tip.
Andie - Yayyy so happy for YOU! I have been reading all your FB status updates lately thinking you sound very happy these days, things seem to be going really well. I am so happy you are doing well mentally, and the boys are doing well on the failsafe diet.
Clare - The kindy excursion sounds like it was great fun.
Noni - Dont feel bad about having to work 4 days, it will help you guys get ahead a bit with your debt situation. Once you get into the flow of juggling work and kids its so simple.
Forgot to mention we have had a bit of a win with the dummy situation this week. Monday night I just decided right, too old for this dummy now missy, and we gave it to her dollies. At first it didnt go down too well and she sooked on and off for about an hr and a half but then nodded off. Since then I have not given in to that dummy, she still asks for it, but it doesnt take her long to forget about it once she is in bed. I guess it has been a huge part of her bed time ritual since she was born really, so its not all that easy to let go of but she has done so well. Very happy.
Girls I am off to BRITNEYYYYYY tonight, so off to get myself ready, just in case I get an invite backstage hehehehe
Cally - yeh. DH and I have had major talks and I think with what has happened, it really opened his eyes up. We are communicating heaps better and I actually feel like its more grownup communication (ITMS). It was a major factor in deciding to go again for baby no 2 and a lot of discussion. One of his major hangups was how I coped after S was born, he didn't like it and doesn't want to deal with it again. I politely informed him to f**k off then and there and that I didn't choose PND and if he had supported me and understood it better that it wouldn't have escalated. The counsellor re-inforced the need for support and that it is legitimate and that after being thru it once we might be better prepared and I'll seek help sooner if needed.
AFU - S has another ear infection (2nd in 6 weeks) and I'm not happy at all! We had done so well for 2 years without the need for abs etc. Can someone enlighten me on why these things occur? Is it water in the ear not draining right?
HAPPY BIRTHDAY Ginger!!! I hope you get spoiled just as you deserve my friend!
Andi - so glad to hear from you sweetie! Sorry I missed your post yesterday. Sounds like you are going great, well done to get that mediation set up, it doesn't guarantee success but you are doing everything possible to create a positive dynamic, you should be so proud of that. So pleased to hear you have been able to ditch the anti depressants too . You go girl!!!!
Kate - I kwym about 'grown up conversation' - I read that as "all adults taking responsibility for their bit". I'm glad your DH has more of an understanding about PND now, it's very challenging for everyone. Re the ear infection, it can have to do with any irritation in the sinus, eustacian tubes, etc...as soon as they get clogged up (dust, hayfever, virus, mucus overload from food sensitivity, etc) there's the potential for bacteria to grown. Kids are more susceptible because their tubes are smaller and therefore don't drain as well. That's my highly unscientific explanation LOL.
MM - ah no thanks, one's enough. I expect the new one will be perkier though and I'll need a lift on the other side. Definitely don't want any downsizing, that was a commentary on the clothes not my boobaliciouses . Well done with the dummy weaning. My eldest DD *still* remembers leaving hers out for the easter bunny, not game to go there yet with my strong willed Missy E.
Clare, LOL at your cats chumming up with your allergic guest. Gosh I can't believe how quickly you have pulled your house together, we were unpacking for weeks afterwards. You must have a lot less junk than we do . Managed to treat myself with a trip to the Craft & Quilt fair yesterday, so all good there. The excursion sounds like a BLAST! We took Missy E on the tram when we were in Melb and she screamed like it was the apocalypse so um, no public transport since then. LOL She would probably really enjoy it now.
Hi girls
Another quick one from me
MM yay on the dummy - I can imagine it's a hard one to break! We haven't used a dummy for either boy so that's one habit I didn't have to deal with
I hope rainy is ok
Kate - glad you have things sorted with dh
Is he well informed about pnd? Maybe he should read up before this bubba arrives just in case?
Well dh and I are both well struck down with the gastro - so far Noah is fine! Jacob has been v unsettled but no vomits so I think prob tummy ache
Better go he has woken up
Hi girls, i'm here.
DH has gone to sydney for the weekend so i'm staying at dad's. boys are finally doing much better after what seema like a month of sickness. i ended up taking j down to the emergency dept the other night as he had a really nasty looking rash and wouldn't stop crying, turned out it was just a virus. poor little monkey. he's a lot better today though.
DH is water-skiing in a big race in a couple of weeks so is up in syd practising, then we're going up to syd for a family holiday tuesday week and to watch him in the race.
Big news i guess is that we've decided to make a bit of a sea-change and move down to the beach so that the boys can enjoy boating, beaching, outdoors fun! we feel like we're a little bit too isolated where we live and we'd like the boys to enjoy living near the water. tbh, we're also feeling very vulnerable where we are iykwim?
mp- oh no, gastro is the worst! has j had a gastro vac?
md- did you come home with anything from the fair?
mm- hope britney was fun
clare- your house looks amazing, i love the tree in L's room. so pretty!
kate- L has had 2 ear infections recently, i hate them. they make him in the worst mood.
G I saw your seachange thread and wondered if it was the looming fire season that has nudged you in that direction. I would *love* to live by the sea again, definitely a great lifestyle for active kids. Hope everyone is on the mend now, sometimes it just seems like the tag-team is never going to end. Are you doing anything with your Dad for your birthday?
Um yeah, I did come home with fabric - I've got a few coordinating pieces in a christmassy version of Cicely Mary Barker flower fairies (aaaaah I know how twee that sounds!!!). No idea what to do with it yet tho. Missy E was enchanted by it though.
MP - maybe all those good immune-boosting agents in your BM is protecting little J. Hope you feel better soon.
md- yes the looming fire season has freaked us out a little....we've committed to 2 more summers in the house and then it's on the market. i just don't feel like i can live there forever.....and dh is sick of the killer mozzies LOL
i have no idea what you're talking about, but the fabric sounds good LOL
um i'm going out to lunch tomorrow with all the family for my b'day, to a pub with a cool play area.
MP: oh dear! gastro has been going bonkers lately! everyone has or is having it!! hope that you guys fare ok and are back on the mend in no time xx
MD: oohhh noice....so jealous that you know how to sew and all that jazz. i drooled in this vintage fabric shop the other day and dreamt of overlocking something and butttoning everything else....one day...
G: hope you have a lovely day tomorrow celebrating your special day!
Kate: awesome that your DH is more on the ball with the PND JIC it comes back with another bub. so so important. we have taken quite a few steps in preparation of the JIC possibility...so worth it to not be starting at square one like we did last time IYKWIM.
MM: I AM SO JEALOUS!!! hope you have a ball and get to go backstage!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
AFM: all good here. spent the day doing the bunnings/ikea run...and not one marital argument!!! Although it does appear that we have to prepare ourselves for Leila dropping day sleeps....oohhhhh nooooooooo! it wouldnt be too bad if only for the 2ish hours where she would normally be asleep she is still not coping very well. i figure that i will use that time instead for quiet 'downtime' stuff. like books and a DVD...what do you guys think?? or more to the point...what did/do you guys do??
p.s. just watched the woman give birth live on the internet....amazing!
hey everyone,
well met the family yesterday and it looks like ill be starting work next thrusday.. bit nervous but the kids already like me and didnt want me to leave so i think im already off to a good start there.. they arent that out of controll in the grand scheme of things.. they do beat on eachother a bit (3 and almost 5yr old boys) the youngest boy had a black eye and the eldest was proudly telling me how he had caused it.. i think mostly theyre just bored and have alot of energy to be stuck at home all day with nothing to do and their mum, struggling with mental illness is struggling to entertain them.. i think ill be very tired but i dont think its anything i cant handle job wise
home wise everyone is bloody sick!! kids both have colds and ofc im going to catch it just before i start work!! ughh ahh well not much i can do about that.. money is going to be great will actually be able to pay off some debts and start putting away some money coz were currently getting the baby bonus payments and had planned to save and pay off debt with them too but just havnt been able to miks next pay will include his pay rise too and then im gonna start getting paid and doing 32 hours a week im going to be earning more than double what i currently get in centrelink benefits which i will get disconnected probably eventho we may still be entitled to a small amount because weve been receiving more at the beginning of the year i dont wanna incurr a debt to them so better to just get anything we may be owed at tax time if we can afford to do it that way.. ahhh lots going on atm thats for sure!
mm - wow good work with the dummy, im not game to go there yet with Asha shes VERY attatched to it, think ill be waiting till after xmas atleast, billy dosnt take one tho.. as much as i try with him (coz sometimes hes not easy to settle) hes just not everly interetsed, he has a good suck on his hands every now and then tho so i guess hes just not gonna be a big dummy boy..
clare - wow thats an achievement, dh and i can go to places like that without arguing lol its a nightmare! i avoid it unless absolutely necessary, more ikea than bunnings lol.. as for day sleeps asha still has them, she has the odd day every now and then where she just refuses so i think she may not be that far from starting to drop them.. i think making that time of the day quiet time/down time is the way to go, quiet activities like drawing or reading stories or dvds, anything to get them to sit still for a little while and unwind.. not always easy with a toddler tho!!
ginger - the sea change sounds great will be loveley living by the sea with the boys deffinately understand how the fire season could freak u out like that.. hope you had a great birthday!!
mp - oh no hope the gastro clears up asap!!
kate- my cousin had problems with ear infections, he got gromits put in because fluid in the ear wasnt draining which made him prone to infections.. once they put the gromits in he was heaps better his speech got better too because he couldnt hear that well due to the pooling of fluid in his ears..
hope everyones having a lovely weekend
Oz: i totally bawled when i saw it LOL! i am such a sucker! it was kinda cool to see an epi birth...in a way i can see the appeal, i *guess* that you can really gather your thoughts and maybe even be able to really be able to *know* your baby is coming and totally get ready and MEGA excited by that ITMS...gosh i hope that makes sense LOL!
Noni: bummer about your family being sick...fingerscrossed that you avoid it. so what you mean about c'link and not wanting to incur debt....you get made to feel like a real criminal if they overpay you. it's a glorious moment being able to disconnect from them, congrats!
Rainy: have a beautiful day today and sending loads of happy birthday wishes xx
AFM: well, my news isnt really my own but my friend's waters broke this morning!!!! it was meant to be her babyshower today!! i had been organising it and i got a call in the early morning with her telling me it had just happened! so happy for her. she was a bit nervous as she is a bit early (36 weeks), but i reckon she has done an amazing job growing that baby and that she (baby is a girl) will be just fine. can't wait to hear when that baby has arrived!! i am sooo excited LOL!
Hi everyone. W is starting to whinge so I will be quick.
Camping with a toddler and a 9 week old baby is a DISASTER!!!!
So glad to be home. William was tired and excited and silly. Amelia must have been overstimulated/overtired and lost the plot completely. She was hysterical and I couldn't settle her. In the end DH had to walk her around for over an hour to calm her. Then in the morning we went out on the boat. A screamed every time the engine was off so DH couldn't fish, then on the way back we ran out of petrol. Then the auxillery motor ran out of petrol. We made it back by the skin of our teeth after shaking the dregs of the main tank into the auxillery. William had fun though, but we won't be doing that again in a hurry. Camping plans for christmas have been postponed for a few years.
