i got the kids some nice stuff at myer the other day too trill. i got L some levi's jeans and both the boys some Sooki tops. awesome!

I got some clothes from myer the other day for M on sale. Also got a whole heap of clothes for myself from dotti today, all reduced big time. Love the end of season sales!

Have any of you girls used a breast feeding blanket for public feeding? If so which one is good?

I never used a blanket, I used to just flop em out anywhere lol

I have a pathological aversion to covering my boobs when feeding! I keep it discrete, but I don't believe in hiding it. BUT having said that Missy E was always terribly distracted so I used to plop a bunny rug over her face sometimes to stop her from looking around every where. My FIL tried to suggest a breastfeeding cape to me once, and lived to regret ever opening his mouth

How come I never know when stuff is on sale at Myer?...our Myer's pretty shopped out though, not sure how much decent stuff I'd find up there.

Ginger well done on signing up for first aid. I did a red cross on for free when DD1 was tiny, then did another when I was working in the drs surgery. The kind of thing you hope you never ever have to use.

yeah i missed the myer memo lol. and i still have like $65 on a gift card to spend...it's actually been hard to spend it (mostly because i have decided to not spend it on the girls lol).

MD: hmmm Marta is also a 'looker' while BF. starting to drive me barmy. mebbe i do need a wrap type thingy of some sort to keep her focused??

Cassius, quickest way to burn through a gift card in myer is to head to the underwear section. Closely followed by perfume (not that you could get a decent bottle for $65, but it's a start . How long is FIL staying for?

cass- i would probably head to the make up section if i was you and buy a lovely moisturiser or mascara.

md- our myer has been quite good lately. i love the boys' stuff from the brand Sooki and even better when it's on sale.

so i had a coffee again today with my new friend and we've organised to go for a walk next friday! woo hoo!!!!

i'm actually considering joining the local gym as it's super cheap and quiet (not one of those massive overly commercial ones iykwim?) and putting the boys in the creche there for an hour twice a week. whaddya girls think? J has never been in any kind of care but do you think it may do him some good to be there with L for a couple of sessions a week? the carer there is supposed to be a lovely grandma type who has been doing it for centuries LOL

Cass - Or head to the shoe section and get some nice ballet flats. I got a really nice, comfy pair of diana ferrari's the other day for only $35 marked down from $80. My best buy for awhile!

Ginger - I would so go for it, and you will feel better for it yourself.

I can understand not wanting/needing to use a blanket, and really why should we. But I feel so darn awkward trying to get E to attach well, while trying not to expose myself and while controlling M, that in the end I kinda just let her attach any old how and yesterday paid the price a little, was a bit ouchy afterwards. Then I walked past another lady later using a blanket and she looked so relaxed!

Isa: i was actually thinking about the blanket thingy and yeah, i can see your point as well. especially considering that WA only recently stopped allowing discrimination against BF mums at restaurants etc. if i felt a bit uncomfy or was having attachment issues then yeah, i would probably try everything to keep it happening! i saw some in baby bunting the other day but i would try "etsy"...they have way cool stuff and with the Oz $ so strong it is great to buy from the US

G: i would do it! if it all falls apart and the gym or the creche arent working then at least you gave it a crack. and it's cool that the boys would have eachother IYKWIM. i remember being at the gym care when i was a kidlet...we coped lol! (one place that mum went to was really boring as basically it was just a boring old room with nothing in it, so the following times i brought books and colouring pencils etc to bring).

i need to re-do my first aid. i did one when Leila was 6 months old...so am feeling a bit rusty.

MD: hmmm, mum stocked me up on knickers et al at chrissy...and i dont wanna buy a pretty bra until after i stop BF ITMS...want to know that i can get it to fit lol...so i *think* i might have to check out the shoes man i love shoes.

OH OH OH! and my totally awesome find for the week (or the century??!) is BigW jeans!! YES. i know, daggy place, but OMG! they are awesome! i bought a pair of their standard range (the ones in the boxes in teh wall) of the skinny blue jeans and they are AMAZING! and only $30!! so cool.

AFM: we are all good! DH had his super succesful book launch last night so happy for him! and all the books sold!!!! it is actually selling really well, on amazon it has cracked teh top 100,000 mark (i know, not the top 10 like it should be ). but this is way better than the last book that struggled at around the million mark . he had the historian Henry Reynolds launch it for him too which was great. then all of us went out for dinner for the most delicious pizza...i got the quattro formaggi...mmmmm. still dreaming of it lol. so it was a late night, and the girls are tired, but they did so well last night i am so proud of them. all our friends and their kids turned up as well (including my dear friends with their little boy with the respiratory problems...soo happy as taht is not easy as there needs to be one of them in the back with the machine to help clear him etc etc...no mean feat). it was just lovely! and i loved it as i got to be a bit dolled up and wore my roberto cavalli strappy heels that i havent worn since, well, since leila was born so i felt quite spesh

Junglemum and Ginger just worked out why you both seemed familiar, dd1 was due in sept 2007 but came in July instead so we were probably belly buddies all those years ago!

Cass, that sounds like an awesome night! And well done to your DH with his new book. What is his area of study?

G, the gym is worth a go, nothing to lose if it doesn't work out. I am sure you are allowed to go as a causal a few times before you get a membership. I think J would be fine with L there, you said they play together well.

Isadora, I promise it is going to get much easier soon - one day soon you will suddenly realise that it has become a reflex action.

ILs arrived today. They are excited about the new baby as I knew they would be. Makes me feel even worse about my mum's crappy reaction (ewwww, why would you want another, don't you have your hands full enough etc)

Oh Arte, I'm sorry for your mums bad reaction to #3. Maybe as time goes on she will become more excited. I'm glad your in laws are happy though.

Ginger, bummer about the colds. W went to bed fine the other night and woke up an hour later with a massive temp and runny nose.

Trill, Happy Birthday for L!

Mmmmm. Didn't really expect any better from mum. Having kids ruined her life (confidence booster lol) and she thinks everyone else having children is doing the same. But she will admit that my children are well-behaved and well mannered. I have never told her about their awful sleeping because I know she would just say "you choose to have them....". I have never ever asked her to do anything for us, never asked her to babysit, nothing. All she has to do is visit them for an hour or so every few months when we take them down there and she gets them a Christmas and birthday present to play the good nana. I strongly suspect that having a third child will put us in the dreaded breeder category too.

But never mind, I am having a great day. The IL's have been entertaining the kids and I have hardly seen them all day! A didn't have a feed this morning or tonight, so hopefully she will wean soon. I am so impressed with A, she is happy as anything to be all over the IL's even though she hasn't seen them for nearly 6 months which is a long time for a 18 month old. I remember we had big issues with them when W was this age because they were all over him and he was freaking out and they thought I wasn't letting them be proper grandparents. But I think they have realised now that it wasn't about them, it was about W.

ETA, OMG Ginger, look at your ticker!! Surely that isn't right!
