Cass, we are getting stupidly hot muggy weather here, apparently fallout from the cyclone. One place in the South Island got 40 degrees today!

O.K, so I started a bit of a slinging match this morning. I hope that I didn't upset anyone in here. It probably isn't any of my business, but then again this is my community and I don't like the idea of hushing up unsavory acts, just going along to get along. If for example I heard of people being bullied off my kindy's committee I would sure as hell say something and I don't see how BB is any different. As Inanna herself once said, ignorance is just ignorance.

yeah i saw that thread Arte...eeeep! but again we do see this from time to time on BB, storm in a teacup and it will blow over...well that's what i am telling myself :tmi:

Cally, it was pretty cool today here - bit of relief since it's been quite hot all week and you know i"m not a summer-lover! Not exactly cardy weather but not far off it. Your beach visit sounds lovely.

Kate - good to hear from you sweetie - understand if you don't post very often, I imagine you are a pretty busy lady these days!

Arte - I would hope that no matter what our opinions are on the situation, either it's origins or how it has been handled, that we all have enough respect and enough of a bond in here to not let it get in the way of our September mummies groove, kwim? :)

Cass- At least he did remember! I don't think Leila looks ill, or too skinny. She is a slight little thing compared to my big whoompa. But as always, i think peace of mind is a wonderful thing and there is no harm in getting her checked. I think as long as her input and output are good though there isn't too much reason for concern.

Arte- I don't think you started anything love. Whatever the hell happened was going to happen anyway, i do think it's a shame it sometimes gets to that around here, nature of the beast i guess. I don't always agree with everything my friends post, doesn't mean i think any less of them. It would be a boring world if we all agreed on everything. :) Having said that i don't have a problem with anything you posted, and i'm certainly not upset about anything. :)

Guys, I have a problem. I am not sure what to do. This morning DH's truck had some mystery oil leak and now there is a huge oil patch in our driveway - in the shape of male genitalia! How do I get it off?? I am looking at it now and it is disturbingly accurate! Why can't we just get a picture of Jesus like normal people?

not much to report on lately. we have been super busy, but not doing much IYKWIM. it seems that my social life has taken off since having had kids :)

although yesterday i had an interesting hour or so when some neighbourhood kids dropped by with one of their parents. in the past i have felt a bit "take 'em or leave 'em", but yesterday it was "leave 'em!". the eldest child is soo violent and awful that when he left i burst into tears! :o FFS how does that happen?? he is only 6 years old??!! but maybe it was the image of him with leila holding her by the head trying to smash her repeatedly against the wall of her cubby? hmmm, or was it when he deliberately smashed another little boy visiting in the face with the door? hmmmm....
TBH i am still feeling really rattled...

arghh! and then i feel bad because he is just a little boy himself, but i told DH that i dont ever want him around here again or for Leila to go over there...i know, dramatic, but man, that was frightening...

WTF? Cass I would have been upset too. I think you're smart to not have them around again. What was the reaction of the parents to all of this?

i meant to say, i think L looks perfect - she is tiny but it looks normal on her iykwim (a friend of mine's daughter is the same)... but if YOU are worried go and getr her checked - cant hurt to have it looked at and monitored for peace of mind. She seems to have a good appetite (i remember from ages ago, is that still the case?). You could give her pentavite - has iron and vitamins and boosts appetite a bit. paed recommended that for J a while back... (i think you can also use incremin in older kids).

Had a trip from hell getting home yesterday, Lu needed to wee and Sas had just fallen asleep in my arms, so a nice hostess offered to take her. She took her, put her in the toilet and closed the door behind her, the lights only come on when you lock the door, so she freaked out and wet herself. :duh: Then S head butted me while dancing and gave me a fat lip! We got delayed and ended up at port moresby airport for 6 and a half hours. Nothing to do, too dangerous to go anywhere, a few dried bickies, and drinks fortunately. We got home 21 hours after leaving mum's place! :o Lots of sleeping today.

i have a dilemma girls, what does oral thrush look like. e has a very white tongue, like the guy from kiss, its extreme! its also on the inside of her lips and wont budge. she doesnt seem fussed though. also i fed her last night and my nipples were just burning. this morn i notice my nipples both have a slight, raised white rash thing in the join between the actual nipple and areola. its only small, but if i look closely its there and normally isnt. so tried to get a gp appt tomorrow but no go all busy. im off to the chemist now, but i guess im just wondering if i can do anything else

Sounds suspiciously like thrush....... You can get over the counter meds at pharmacy, but I ended up needing prescription meds to clear mine up.

Ginger, how is L going at kindy? How many days is he going? I thought of you the other day - they did a car seat safety thing at kindy and had one of those H harness things. It seems really queer, but the seat just sits there, the H harness gets anchor bolted in and then the seatbelt threads through the harness and holds the seat in. I would rather have the seat anchored in than the harness, it looked like a crap system. I don't think that would fly in Australia.

Isadora it does sound like thrush. I think Nilstat (or something similar) is a highly recommended treatment. I hope you can get it sorted.

Pretty poo couple of days here. Skybie is one of my besties so as you can imagine its been a very sad few days. I will be coming to Melb next week but unfortunately wont be able to catch up. Will definitely be down in May though and cant wait to meet you all. I am exhausted, work is getting crazy busy which I knew would happen when I decided to slow down lol.

Isadora, just make sure that you give your boobs plenty of airing out too - moisture helps thrush so let them air dry really well before putting them away. Also it might be an idea to get some inner health plus or other probiotic to take too to help your gut on the inside - it will also pass through to bubs and help her gut flora as well.

Yeah we met as belly buddies when I was pg with Z. We met IRL last Feb And spend way to much time on FB chatting lol. I was coming down in march (may) to meet bub :(

I hope she's not being hard on herself Oz, I saw the thread she posted about her placenta slowing down the other day and I know if it were me going through this, I'd be running all the 'what ifs' through my mind and blaming myself for not forcing the issue.
