Cass, I think it's awesome knowing all your neighbours like that. It just doens't happen enough in cities anymore so it's really refreshing to hear that you all make the effort to connect.

G, fingers crossed that a wonderful friendship develops for you. The MG sounds horrible.

Well after a quiet start to the week the arse end is going to be flat out. Tomorrow I have to take mum to Wagga for another appt with her surgeon for a check up, but the bonus of that is I have a DH approved trip to Spotlight on the cards to get curtain fabric for the boys room because their bunks will be here by the end of next week. Then Friday is preschool day so in town all day for that. Saturday we have 2 birthday parties - one at lunchtime at the pool for a little girl that P did little A's with and they are homeschoolers so that opens up a new friendship for her outside of school, then another party for our friend's 1yo DD which is a afternoon/night BBQ, then Sunday is L's 10th birthday!!!!! But we are off to Forbes that day (1.5hrs away) for a little A's regional carnival. And at some point I have to make him a birthday cake LOL. OH and on Monday I have to take Mum to TAFE to so she can enroll in the course she's doing. I need a bex just thinking about all that LOL.

oh MD! that does sound like a shocker way to spend st vals....man. i wont rub in our day lol (not that it was romantic...FILs presence is not really inducive to that kinda thing :rofl:).

and yes, it is getting might close to knowing everyone...there are a few that i dont know, but we still wave etc to eachother. lovely street, cant complain.

yikes, my timing lately is shocking...marta is awake...gotta go BBL...

all is well here - battling w the double drop offs and pick ups with the boys and also the major guilts that N goes to after care.... he is settling in so well (tells me he loves kinder etc etc) but i am feeling awful about it and a bit 'judged' too iykwim. j is doing beautifully and is really enjoying creche atm so thats a plus...
N has his best friend at kinder which is awesome and they play all day.. she isnt oging on wednesdays though, so will see how today goes (i kinda think it is good, he is so social but this makes him reach out to a few more kids)

md- meeting new irl frineds is great. i ran into my new frined again day, only problem is i don't know her name yet! LOL

had a major incident on sunday. L pulled an electrical cord on a lamp out of the wall socket and snapped the cord and got an electric shock. spent all day at the ER dept with him. he's totally fine, but was insanely scarey. it could have killed him.

going to a baby sale on sunday and selling mountainloads of baby boys clothes :( definitely no more babies around here. may need to get a puppy to compensate :)

Far out G! That would have been really scary! Glad to hear he is OK.

insanely scarey. it has prompted me to enrol in a first aid course though.
ironic that his dad is a sparky. he has a burnt hand but he's fine.

Ginger OMG that is very scary!! So glad he is alright. xxx Will he have to go an have any follow up checks? Do you have a safety switch and if so how come it didn't work?

Trill yeah I'm exhausted hearing about it too. Glad your ma is getting on with it and planning to a do a course, etc.

MP, :hug: Don't feel bad, the place you're sending him sounds just wonderful and I'm sure he will thrive there. It's great when they have a little bestie.

The FDC's DD and Missy E are besties and miss each other like crazy when she's not at FDC, so sweet. Sadly, we will not be sending E to the same school she's going to, is that mean?

MD, when she goes to Kinder there will more than likely be other kids she will befriend that she wont go to school with. It was always the way with my lot - who ever they buddied up with at Preschool always ended up going to the catholic school. It's not mean, it just can't be helped sometimes.

Trill - Good luck with all the kids bday parties to attend this weekend - or should I say good luck for dealing with the kids after the sugar intake and full day of running a muck! :) What a full on end of the week you have planned. Thank you for your words of encouragement re breastfeeding, I am getting there!! If only this thrush would PO! I fed her in the middle of coffee club yesterday with my sis by my side, and the amount of smiles and nods I got from all the grandma's was really lovely and encouraging.

MD - Like the girls have said E will make new friends. But it is a hard one, we have just gone through this with M and pulling her out of daycare seeing as I am no longer at work. She had some great little friends there. :( Maybe just keep in touch and have play dates and send a bday party invite etc. And no v day loving or fuss here either lol.

MP - I know that feeling of being judged, feeling a tad that way with the mums at M's new kindy. But who is judging you?

Cass - I wish we had a street like yours, you are very lucky because it seems to be rare to live in a neighbourhood like that. Dont even know our neighbours names here!

I sat in on M's 2.5 hours at kindy today. The things that come out of the mouths of 3 year olds, gosh they are so precious and innocent and so unaware of how hillarious some of their comments are to us adults hehehe. Had a fantastic time and so glad M enjoys it.

Far out G, that would have been terrifying! Glad he is alright.

Trill, sounds like you are going to be busy! Can't believe A is nearly 10!!! He was just a little boy when this started!

Short post from me, feeling pretty average. Miss A was sleeping wriggly and kept me awake until about 3am and then she woke up at 5am! Threw her at DH and went back to bed but I couldn't get back to sleep. So I was tired and therefore sick all day - and I had my exam! Not happy! I am reasonably sure I passed, but I don't think it will be an A.

ETA, MD, sorry you had a craptastic Valentines day. We don't do anything here, but I did drive 20 minutes each way to drop off DH's lunch so he wouldn't be hungry all day so I guess that is something. I hope that it is all sorted now xx

Trill: woah! i think *I* need a bex and good lie down from just reading what you guys are up to this week :lol: and wow on L entering the double digits. how does that feel?!! i know that for my mum it was really weird, as for her it really marked a passing of a stage ITMS.

Arte: oh man, i hear ya on sleep = average days. oh boy. what i would give for a sleep in. :hug:, i hope that you did well on the exam despite all the exhaustion.

G: holy moly :o i totally would of pooped my pants! what happened immediately after his shock? did you see it happen or did he tell you about it? omg, i am so glad he is ok :hug:. and ETA: how do we know if there is a safety switch thingo?? i need to know i have one!

Isadora: it took like ages for my boob thrush to clear, but after i had the meds and used the daktarin on her and my nipples for the specified time the pain wasnt there anymore. even though she had the white tongue it wasnt painful for either of us. it did take awhile after that for it to disappear, but once it stopped being a bother we just worked through it and put only some daktarin on when it was flaring up again on her tongue IYKWIM.
all i can recommend is to change your breast pads at every feed. even slight moisture is a doozer.

AFM: well, today. hmmm.

it sucked!

I left Marta at 10.30am happy and full of milk, i returned an HOUR later and she was hysterical. sobbing and hyperventilating all at once :o. she was so distressed that she didnt even notice me or look at me or want cuddles. she was just beside herself. then i boobed her up and she fell asleep...still sobbing :(. then woke up a few minutes later completely beside herself. by this time it was 1pm and i basically hadnt left the place. so i just sat there on the couch with her and cuddled her. then i gave her boob and she fell asleep at 1.30pm for good. i had to run and get to a meeting and DH arrived at 2pm to pick her up....argghhh this is just so frikkin' awful.

oh, and to top it off i am currently in a battle to stop mastitis. because she was so upset and not wanting to feed my boobs got so full and i was so busy comforting her that i didnt realise until it was too late. i am in agony :(

so, yeah, welcome back to work Clare

MD - we don't do Valentines Day here, but DH and I had a lovely evening after the little one was tucked up (hint, hint, nudge, nudge!). K's bestie will be going to the Catholic School and K is going to the local public school. She may not have anyone from care go to her school - the plan at the moment is for her to go to the public school down the road from us, whereas she is currently going to care in town where we work and there are a couple of schools there.

Arte - oh, I hope you did OK in your exam! It's amazing how much space those little people can take up in bed isn't it.

Trill - woah!!

Ginger - wow, that does sound scary. So glad that he is OK.

Cass - how was kindy? ETA - oh dear, not so good then

Isa - they do say some funny things don't they.

Isa, I second everything everyone else has said about the thrush...definitely change those breast pads all the time, I stopped using the sposies for that reason (plastic backs aren't breathable). Also sometimes you need bacterial treatment at the same time as the thrush, Barb often recommends a product called Kennacomb.

OMG Cass are you saying that you can be off with one feed and mastitis starts to develop? I am scared!! What are you doing about it? Didnt realise you are back at work, and what MD said, with time it will all fall into place.

MD - Thanks for the advice, I will look into the kennacomb.

Arte - I'm sure you did pass, you always do better than you expect I think. Well done though, my brain is fried after a night of little sleep so you did well.

cass- have you got a breastpump? massage your boobs with an electric toothbrush in a hot shower.
we knew he got a shock as there was a huge bang and he screamed and his hand was all black.

isa- kennacomb was what ended up clearing up my dodgy boob for good. it is the best stuff ever.

i have just signed up to do a cert 2 in first aid, prompted by the shock incident

G, I did a first aid course when I was *just* pg with A so I really should do a refresher.

H, Get yourself some probiotics to help with your gut flora - it will make sure that the thrush stays away for good once the meds clear it. It will also pass onto Eva and help her gut flora too.

Well one day down LOL. Didn't manage to get the fabric I wanted but I did find some half decent ready to hang ones so that was alright. Also got some stuff at Myer for the kids too - they had shedloads of discounted stuff and if you spent over $50 you could take an extra 20% off.
