Surprisingly L will sleep but lately Z won't lol. It's nice playing outside in the sunshine minus jumpers and runny noses.

O.k, so we aren't quite tee-shirt weather but it definitely feels like spring around here. Frosts followed by glorious sunshine days. Fire isn't going during the day and today I had the sliding doors wide open and cleaned the carpet in the lounge and it was warm enough to dry.
Where is Trill? I hope she hasn't been eaten alive by a class full of 7 year olds!!
LOL Arte! I thought I better check in today or you'll all think I've dropped off the face of the planet. Everything is going so well! But it is incredibly bull on and this working mum thing does suck a little bit because I have shedloads to do when I get home. Last night I could have gone to bed for the night at 6pm, but by 8.30 I got my second wind and I was up till 11 then! Today A had his first full day at childcare after a trial 2hrs yesterday and I was so worried because he cried when DH dropped him off, but today I took him in and he was fine. it was such a relief. i can't believe it's nearly 1 week gone though. It has just gone so quickly. I even took my first class on my own yesterday as well! It was Maths and I was teaching them fractions. Tomorrow is education week/open day so that will be a massive day of performances from the entire school. But OMg it is so tiring. that has been hard to get used to no nanna naps for me LOL!
And yes, I am biased towards Erin, but Zoey is also a gorgeous name.
oh wow Trill! this is just happy wonderful news
and taking maths :o. man, i would poop in my pants hahahaha!
So they let you out, did they Trill? LOL Agree 100% with the tiring-ness factor, I remember that from my pracs. They are so full on! with the Fractions, well done, there's plenty more of that coming!
My job is rapidly morphing into delivering large chunks of training solo. Not exactly what I agreed to do but my co-presenter has been sucked up into another team's water spout. So it'll be trial by fire for me.
MD, I hope it all goes well. Was training a part of your job when you took it or an add on?
Trill, sounds like it is going really well. How far through your degree are you now?
AFM, public humiliation!!! Went to a breastfeeding week Latch On morning tea thing with my friend. Saw the health nurse that I have been meaning to ring and asked her about our massive sleep problems with A. I managed to talk like a normal person for about 5 minutes and then broke down and cried in front of everyone!! People I have to see again! I am so embarrassed :(
arte- don't be embarrassed! especially if they are all mums, they would certainly understand what lack of sleep can do to you. it is the pits and used to make me mega teary!!! anyway, did she give you any helpful advice, strategies, sleep school info???
trill- congrats on your rounds going so well. it is v rewarding isn't it? rounds used to make me v tired too but its nowhere near as bad once you have your own class iykwim? a little tip for teaching maths, they have some great lessons on you tube that you can watch to help you :)
argh, i can totally relate! i did that at our calmbirth session (like the first one if i remember correctly), where i was totally on top of it all and then totally outta nowhere became an Oprah ugly cry moment hahaha. tell ya what though, i bet it felt a bit better to have let it all out to someone that is not in the household/family/friend etc. total third party ears can be the best sometimes
Arte - Dont worry, I'm sure all the other mums didnt think anything of it, so dont be embarrassed about crying. Especially being pregnant!! I'm sure they all understood. What did they say? I'm sure someone has probably mentioned this before, but have you tried brauers sleep formula? I also love Zoey
Trill - Glad the prac is going well. You are powering along with your degree, good for you. Are you doing an open uni degree? I have just switched to open uni as I am unable to physically go to uni these days with two kids. I'm scared though as the referencing style is different.
Hope you are all well ladies :)
Isadora my dear, how goes everythign with you?! I'm still grappling with referencing after all this time. The whole website/online sources thing has just made it a bazillion times more complicated than it used to be back in the paper-only days (yeah, cos I'm THAT old).
Arte, no sweat, we've all had our public cry moments. In fact I had one yesterday at my writer's group when I read out an autobiographical piece that I OBVIOUSLY hadn't left to air for long enough. Hrrrm just call it free therapy, I say. Did the nurse say anything helpful?
i wonder how MP is going on her kid free sydney trip...oh man, i so wanna have a night away lol!
Hey Cass, I had a night away this week. Work in-service, boss chose a *very* nice place at Glenelg for us all to stay at. I could see the sea from where I was lying in bed! Only problem, definitely not enough time to enjoy it properly on account of all the working! LOL Can't have it all, I suppose...
Hi girls
Cass - thanks for thinking of me.... Having an amazing time. Sleep in both days lots of catching up w great friends and shopping! Off to have breaky now by myself an head back. Dh has been amazing!
Now I want to plan a weekend away for the 2 of us!this has brrn so rejuvenating - hoping I can do it a couple of times a year
Trill - glad the week went well. Welcome to my juggling it all pain!!!!!! ( though I don't know how ypu manage 4 kids! )arte - I think it's great you cried!!!!! Did it kinda feel good to let it out? Hope you got some giid advice
Xxx
LOL, it wasn't good that I cried - it was big ugly embarrassing cry and the midwife there told my midwife and now they all think I am a basket case - she offered to call a social worker for me to arrange some sort of help. So embarrassing! I can't explain it properly to anyone, but I am not that tired. DH lets me sleep in over the weekend and I can have a nap if I need to. It is more the frustration of listening to her scream for hours every night and having no solution except for me to hold her or sit next to her all night which I just can't do. The health nurse has been very helpful though. We have a hearing appointment at the hospital on Thursday so that will rule out if it is anything to do with her ears (always been a concern due to her slow progress with speech/comprehension). Apart from that the nurse thought it might be night terrors. I don't know much about that.
MP, glad you had a good weekend :)
MD, I saw the pics of your hotel on FB, I was wondering where you were. Bummer about work interrupting your night away!
Managed to get the baby's room all ready and hauled out all the baby clothes. So tiny!!
OMG, just heard on the telly that Rod Stewart is coming to NZ next year! I am so going! I have been wanting to go to a concert of his for ever!
ETA, bummer, the tickets went on sale a week ago and are sold out!
Arte, regardless or not of whether you feel "tired", having your sleep broken constantly changes your brain chemistry and can affect your mood. Add to that the stress of the hours of crying and it's no wonder you feel strung out. Admitting how hard you're finding it all doesn't mean you're a "basket case" - and I'm certain it hasn't occured to any of those people to even think that. So even though it was embarrassing, try to focus on the positives, getting A's ears assessed is a good thing.
Trill, are you on prac for just the one week or longer? Have you had any feedback yet (all good I'm sure ;)). Did you get a good sleep in this weekend? You must be pooped.
MP - yeehar for your time away. Sounds absolutely fabulous and well deserved, too.
MD, thanks  I think my brain chemistry is forever altered - I have only had about 3 or 4 nights that I have actually had a full sleep since W was born. I am just extra frustrated with the whole situation now because there is another kid about to be added to the mix and I can't get the first two working properly!
Arte - I wish there was something I could do! I hope you can get some answers from the hearing test.
MD - Not doing too badly here, thanks for asking. Just got back from an awesome Bali holiday, so I must admit I am feeling pretty down about the crappy weather. And also I am back to being a bored housewife. To top it off I dont know whats going on with E, she is really not interested in breastfeeding this week.
Arte - not much to say, just wanted to send some hugs. I thought night terrors didn't kick in until they were a bit older than A. Seeing as she has always been a shocker I also think it's unlikely to be that.
K and I had a spur of the moment trip up to Canberra on the weekend. Was lovely, my parents got back from their big winter trip so got to catch up with them, plus a bit of shopping. Had a ball at Target - K has got some lovely clothes for summer.
My sister knocked back all wine on the weekend (and it was the really good stuff too) so there are suspicions she is pregnant. Although mum told me that she told her when Dad was diagnosed with prostate cancer (June last year) that they had just started trying again. She got pregnant the first month with my niece so I hope she is finally pregnant now and isn't still trying. Although it's making me feel very confused about DH and my decision not to have another baby when I may be confronted with a pregnant sister.
MP - you haven't gone to Hawaii yet have you? Shame the dollar had a bit of crash this week if you haven't. Lucky you having some time away by yourself.
Trill - so glad your prac went well
MD - Ah, Glenelg... My rellos are in West Beach, so we used to often pop over there for a bit of shopping when we visited. Lovely spot.
