her boobs look great don't they? i actually really like her, love that she says what she thinks. not too fond of nat though! annoying much? lol

surgery is monday. I'm keeping him home from gym and kinder today, just in case, as if he has a temp they won't do it. we've waited too long to have it pushed back again. nervous but looking forward to it being over. I've been told ill get no sleep on monday night as he'll be in a lot of pain and crying/screaming a lot

G, that was a horrible thing for someone to say! Surely if it is going to be that bad afterwards they could give him something for it, some panadol or pain stop or whatever? I hope some ice-cream and mum cuddles will be enough and it isn't too bad for him.

That sucks. Can't they give some sort of pain medication? Doesn't seem right that he has to suffer through the night

Ginger, will that be at home or at the hospital? Poor little thing. Just remember though how much easier it is to tolerate pain when you have someone who loves you with you, and i know you will help him get through this experience just fine. We're here for virtual hugs whenever you need them!

thanks md. this is at the hospital. I'm assuming they will give him some fairly heavy pain relief, its still supposed to be quite awful though not looking forward to it. he's so brave though

Ginger, I remember the first night after my tonsillectomy (8 yrs old) and although it hurt, I was more bothered about being alone in the dark in a strange place than being in pain. I'm sure the pain relief now is more sophisticated than it was back then, too!! Best thing you can do is just take it moment by moment, and the experience will pass then it will be behind you both.

This is my limited experience of it too. WHen I was in hospital with L after he broke his arm, they'd done a heap of tonsils on kids that day too and the kids were all fine while their parents were still there with them and they only got upset and started crying once their parents left them for the night. I'm sure he will be fine - take some of his fave toys in with you so he has something familiar to take his mind off it

A's battle wound seems to be healing well. I think this one will still leave a scar though. NOthing worse than having to take a kid to the ER in the middle of the night, but lucky it's a country town and the trip there and back was way longer than being in the hospital and gtting it seen to. The funny thing about it was that the day before DH commented how we needed to take a pic of his face before his tooth went really black (a few weeks ago he slipped on a slide at the pool and gave himself a fatlip and a bloody mouth and it turns out he killed one of his front teeth because it's turned dark) and that night he fell out of bed! I said to DH the next day "what was that you were saying about taking his photo?" LOL! Anyway it's all good, he's happy because he has a story to tell everyone and L reckons his new nickname should be Scarface.

my first night after the tonsils were out were bliss lol! morphine daaaahhhhling

then they sent me home with some hardcore oxycontin. i had a bad reaction to it (found out that i really cant handle opiods at all...oopps!). so then went only with pandadol and that was a bit tough. I am sure that they will give him some awesome pain meds. that said, it will be pretty hard for a few days. TBH i found the worst around day 10. up until then, it was actually ok. after a couple of days after day 10 it was all better

(man, i hope that sounds ok! it was meant to reassure!!)

Trill, I'm glad A wasn't too traumatised. LOL at Scarface! Speaking of which, E is fully into the Hairy Maclary books ATM.

I'm LOLing too at your morphine bliss, Cass. Gotta admit they had a bit of a fight on their hands getting me to agree to come off the PCA fentanyl a day after my surg. That stuff is soooo good. Either that or I am particularly well-endowed with opiod receptors LOL. Speaking of which did anyone else know there is some kind of opiod receptor thingy in your gut that fires off whenever you eat something really scrummy like a cream bun or chocolate. That probably explains half of why I'm so fat.

Remember I was asking a couple of weeks ago about how clumsy E was? DH measured and weighed her yesterday. She's grown 4+ cm in as many months and stacked on a couple of kilos. No wonder she's crashing into things!

I've got my eye on an ironing board the same as K has borrowed about 4 times from the toy library, but it depends on if I can get a drying rack as well (she can't do one without the other apparently). Will look this weekend when we are in Canberra.

Does anyone else have a reeeeealy whingy 4 year old? He can't talk without it being whingy lol. Z is at an age where she loves to do nothing more then taunt him because she knows he will go into instant meltdown. Its doing my head in lol.

LOL Oz, already show knows how to push his buttons. The boys didn't do it, but OMG the girls! There were several times I nearly sold them both on ebay

MD: ahhhh, so that's why, when i was feeling all down in the dumps last night, that chocolate mousse with whipped cream on top did the trick

the post op morphine is soooo good! i swear that i could easily become addicted to that kind of bliss! i swear that i saw rainbows and blue birds flying that day hahahaha!

AFM: we have had a shocker 24 hours . first of all the BIG news is that Stella (our dog) lost the plot at a much smaller dog during her walk last night and attacked it quite badly . DH saw that if he didnt intervene then the smaller dog could of been at real risk of being killed (i am in shock that Stella has even done this, let alone so full on IYKWIM), so he jumped in and prised her off the poor thing. he got a tooth through his skin and some pretty big scratches from the both of them. Stella is very very quiet today and knows that she is in BIG trouble. we are in shock. We have a lady coming over who is a dog behavourist (yes, there is such a thing lol). and she will do an assessment for us (i am now worried about why she got set off like she did and want to know if we can prevent it or not...) and draw up a behavioural management plan. I am in total shock. i know that dogs can never be trusted etc etc, but to see such a transformation (she sleeps and grooms our cats and lets kids climb all over her etc etc) is horrifying.

THEN, Marta woke up this morning really sick. i was a bit worried as she was mega hot and screaming without abatement. anyway, i decided to BF her in bed and try to get her to have a nap which she did, but when she woke up she had a febrile convulsion , Leila happened to be there and was a bit freaked out (as was i!). i stripped her off and tried to cool her down (she was lobster red!!!). then took her to GP and we are trying to rule out infection (urinary etc). she is just really rotten ATM...poor baby....

Far out Cass! That would have been so scary to see Marta do that! So you don't think it is the watermelon now that caused it? So sad about Stella too. I wonder what set her off? I hope the Behaviourist can help you with her and she doesn't do it again.

I'm at the hospital with L. He is out of surgery. He has been so brave so far, he hasnt even cried or complained yet. I can't believe it! Waiting to speak to the surgeon to see how it all went. Missing little J but dh assures me they're having a great time together

I was wondering how his op went G fingers crossed that he stays like that and it doens't get too painful and sore for him.

So far so good. It's actually been a lot better than I expected so far. Fingers crossed it stays like this. He's such a brave little man, so proud of him.
