Big kids off camping, just me and E at home (and those freaking lambs!). E is just the neatest kid! She is so happy and lovely. She is picking up words quite quickly now, still garbled but I can usually understand what she is trying to say. She is a smart cookie.

AFM: today Miss L was invited to 4 birthday parties busy time of year! we managed to negotiate out of one and 2 are at the SAME venue at the SAME time. i call that a win lol. thankfully it is in a big playground so the kids will all just run around and mingle I guess (well, that is my theory and I am sticking to it lol). unfortunately after that double sugar load we then have another party at the neighbour's house. but i am hoping that Miss M will have a nap in the car and stay home with DH to snooze and join Miss L and I a bit later...busy busy busy...it seems too busy to have a baby today
Yesterday was the predicted date - now Cass is going to have to cart around that bowling ball until the 7th! Don't want to hear any whinging - you had your chance! lol
Cass, that is a lot of birthday parties! The big kids sleep fine when camping, they sleep right next to DH so they are happy
G, how is J going with the toilet training? If it is any consolation, my friend has a kid the same age as J and he absolutely refuses to toilet train as well. She has been trying for 1.5 years now and he will sometimes do it for a bit but then goes back to wetting himself every 5 minutes and will not even attempt poo. How did you go getting an appointment?
The other day after bath I asked E if she wanted to go on the potty so she went over, sat on it, grunted out some farts, got off, sat back down, did more farts and got off again. I sat there with my mouth gaping open lol! She is only 13 months old and is making more effort to toilet train than A! I can't wait until everyone is out of nappies!
She can also get her crocs on by herself which A won't attempt.
DH has taken the kids to the forest for the day so I can do some study. As you can see, I am using my time productively lol.
lol hope you're getting some study done now arte. j's TTing is not going very well at all. i managed to get him to wear a pair of thomas undies yesterday as we stayed home all day. bribed him with a tim tam. he wet them 3 times. i havent got him an appointment yet, but the main place that i am chasing said to ring back late november so fingers crossed something will work out then.
i'm still believing that cass's bub will arrive on my bday

Arte - sounds like you have had some nice Erin time.she sounds divine! Clever too (which is t be expected). I reckon the more kids the quicker they do things - copying older kids. Have a Friend who is one of 17 ( yes girls you read that right) - the last one prob popped out ready for school
all good here - dh away on anther trip so doing the solo parenting this week - about half way now so all good.he will be away at the end of the month too.
We are off to Venus bay for a weekend next weekend - well actually 5 days - will be awesome
noah started cricket yesterday - I love all these programmes, just amazing positive stuff to do. The club we joined is all About fun and famil so it's got a great low key vibe. It's grea for him.

Ginger, hang in there with the TTing, some kids get it sooner than others but they all get there in teh end. Where are getting an appt for?
Trill, how are things going with you? Did you put in some kind of formal complaint against that shonky gyno? Are you on semester break now or in the thick of things? I've been tossing up whether I should try to squeeze a subject in during the summer semester, or whether in the face of ILs/sister visiting that is just crazy-cray. I've only got 5 subjects left, so if I do one over christmas this year and then next year then I will be finished in 18 months!! But there again, at what price? Kinda feel like I need a sanity break to get on top of this sleep stuff, hoping that will be the kickstart to some other lifestyle improvements too...

MP, my mind boggles at 17 kids. Imagine the groceries, or how many nappies you would have changed, or the logistics of getting everyone somewhere. And the state of the lady bits after 17 pregnancies!
Hey MD If it were me, I'd give summer semester a miss too and get yourself sorted out - who knows, if you can get on top of things now, you might be in a position to pick up an extra one next year and still finish at the same time. I bet Miss E looks so cute running around doing Little A's. I was thinking about doing it again this year, but I had prac start at the same time as LA's started so they would have missed the first 4 weeks and it's only a 12 week season. Although A is all geared up for football next year already LOL. It's more his style anyway - running around tackling people :lol.
I haven't put in a formal complaint yet. I have to rethink how I'm going to do it because I got a copy of my notes from the appointment and they conveniently don't say anything about the fibroids I apparently had so it would be a he said she said situation. I'm still going to do it, but just need to word it differently. And yep, about to get stuck into Trimester 3 which starts today. I'm only doing 2 units - one of which is an English lit unit so I have some great books to read. It even has a take home exam! Results come out today too for Trimester 2 so I'm like a cat on a hot tin roof waiting for them LOL.

Although next year with A starting school I expect that there will be a few that he will go to.
Arte, how long till you get rid of those lambs? At least we can stick ours back out in the paddock and take the bottles to them when they got too big for the pen we have. It would drive me batty to have them in the yard for that long! The last two that we had we could even go out to the paddock and call out to them and they would come running - even if they were over the other side of the paddock :lol
G, the TTing is tough. I was looking down the barrel of having 3 in nappies because it took forever for L to do it. I was nearly 6mths pg with P before he was fully trained. Do you think the TT issue has anything to do with the other stuff?
MP, my hat goes off to you for doing cricket! I love my footy, and netball and I don't mind the little athletics, but I am so glad that my kids have zero interest in cricket. It does not float my boat at all. But you're right, there are awesome sports programs for little kids now. I think the earlier you get them into a sport the better, even if it's only for them being part of a team kwim?

I was just having a look through the archives and we are the only group that is still going strong after more than 2 years. The only other group that come close to us is the October 2007 group and they are only up to thread #40 and it's not been posted in for months! Even a lot of the 08 and 09 threads have completely died! I reckon that's gotta be some kind of record in forum land.
MD: ah listen, it all sounds very popular but really, i reckon we just had our annual quota all on one day bahahahaha! we are in the land of sugar overload...DH and I included lol.
How long and intense are the summer courses? I have always been tempted when i was studying but yeah, the need for mental breaks in the end won over the need to shave a semester off. BUT i had the luxury of full-time study and only part-time work ITMS, so could cram my semesters with 5 subjects...hmmm tricky one. That said, maybe an excuse to escape the ILs could be the sanity break lol?
MP: Ahh venus bay! I only just heard of it as friends just bought a holiday beach shack there...and i am green with envy lol. it looks gorgeous. and 5 days is a great time away! I hope that you get some lovely proper sunny days in!
gosh, imagine popping out 17 kids...i have quite a few friends that are from big families like 10-11 and family reunions are always quite the affair as you could imagine hahaha. I cannot even begin to imagine what it must be like to be a sibling with so many sisters and brothers. my only child childhood gives me zero insight lol.

Our neighbour is also going through TT hell with her 3.5 year old girl. she doesnt want to do it, like at all.

AFM: totally shagged after all the party action. literally left the house at 9.30 am and got home after 5pm. i am sooo sore! the girls are completely sugared out, even though we restricted the intake...it was the party quantity that killed our good intentions hahaha. they were in bed at 6.50pm and DH and I were in bed at 8.50pm. so rock and roll hahahahaha.
Trill, yeah, it is awesome that we are still going strong after so long! My 09 and 11 groups have died, although I have them on FB so we sort of keep tabs anyway. I think that people often go to private FB groups now for privacy.
Pet day is the 15th, so I will hold out with the lambs until then. I just weaned them yesterday, but they were so sad tonight I gave them a bottle of warm water lol. It isn't too bad now, they have a little break in the fence in their pen that lets them into the vacant section/stream next door with thigh high grass so if they stay over there I am happy. They still do the odd yard wander, but if they annoy me too much I tie one of them up and they stay put.
Congrats on your results too! How much longer do you have until you are finished? (I am sure I ask that every six months lol)
G, J sounds as stubborn as W. It isn't fun I like that he knows his own mind and isn't swayed by others, but FFS it is hard to parent a kid like that! I don't remember if you have described J's behaviour, but feel free to PM if you want to talk about it - lord knows W is not a typical kid.
Trill: i was just thinking how this wee group of ours just keeps on keeping on lol. my other baby buddies thread didnt even happen really. *maybe* only one thread if that! i am hoping now that BB has reduced a bit more in numbers and that they are back to joining the whole month (rather than splitting them) that we might be able to keep the group i am in for the pg going. it is so much fun sharing the journey and i seriously feel like i know all you guys so well lol! it would be weird to not be in contact anymore IYKWIM?

I remember when i lived in brunswick i would wander down to the park with Miss L in the pram on thursday afternoons with half of the other young mum population and check out the carlton boys doing their training. they were nice and took their tops off sometimes i would take the dog so that i looked a *little* more legit in my 'just going for a walk' guise

AFM: we had a lovely day in the sunshine today. not much done (thankfully), just hung out with a good friend and had cups of tea and watched the kids run around starkers having a water fight lol. the only crap thing is that i realise we are back in australia as poor Miss M got a bit of sun on her 7 months of northern hemisphere summer and not one application of sunscreen without incident and 20 minutes here and she has come up red!
Sounds like a fun day cass! Ouch on the sunburn. I have just taught my boys the old song from the 80s slip slop slap and it has worked a treat - they now prepare themselves for going outside!
re cricket I am with you guys - but I just think it is so good to get involved in teams and community sports. He is pretty average at it all but enjoys having a go and being part ofit. Am with you on the eventual boredom butnwi think w school sportsnetc you can't avoid! N wants to play soccer next year (hopefully instead of afl)
dh is still away and poor n had a few nightmares last night that Ialso left - it's really affected him this time having dh away. I do t know how to approach the fact that dh has at least 2 more 10 day ttrips before the end of the year...

The cricket sounds cool. There isn't really much organised sport here for younger kids. Guess that is a price to pay of living in a town of 2000.
