Arte: that is a party in my books! i am impressed that no house trashing has taken place...sheesh my kids have managed to create a scene from an apocalypse movie scene just on their own today.

Miss Es hair is like this cool ash blonde colour ATM. i am amazed at how hairy she is! her back and arms are still completely covered in the lanugo as well...we must have strong hair genes in the family somewhere :lol:

Trill: i took your advice and it must of done the trick as afterwards when i went to bed i could feel her move down and flip around and sure enough a few hours later...baby!

Cass, my E's hair was that ash blond colour, sometimes silver. She didn't have a lot of it though so it changed colour depending on the lighting.

Arte, that does sound like a fun get-together! I've always wished for popping-in type friends but never really understood how to grow them.

Ginger - OMG how good was the BB final last night?? I was and wasn't barracking for B... but I had an inkling he would win, do you remember back in the first couple of weeks he was telling someone about the psychic he went to see who predicted some very specific things, obviously about the whole BB journey and how his life would change afterwards. Totes amazing. I also think young Braddles might get sucked up into the media world somehow too. It will be interesting to see which ones find fame and fortune and which ones sink back into obscurity. Anyway, there will be a big hole in my television life now LOL.

AFM, am going in this arvo to get my sleep study results. Kinda nervous. I don't think he could say anything too surprising, but I just so desperately want there to be a solution!

AFM: all awesome here :D our little girl has slipped right into our lives and is just awesome awesome awesome! she has been hit with the jaundice like the other girls did, but finally we have some sun so have her nuding it up under the window and feeding like a beast. i just cannot get over how tiny she is! she is only 400gms smaller than marta was but it really makes a difference when you are only 3kgs lol. she is in these teeny tiny 00000s! all the gorgeous purebaby newborn clothes i bought are stupidly big on her hahaha.
poor miss m had a couple of days of realising that i cannot just put the baby down on demand. so she had a crisis of cuddles :( but i *may* have saved the day yesterday and today due to my milk coming in having to express off...and miss m LOVES the stuff hahaha. now she gets that her little sister might have shared benefits :lol:
miss l on the other hand only had one manic day where her excitement/anxiety was a bit OTT. but since returning back to kindy she has been more balanced and they girls are back to playing normally. phew!
almost finished writing the birth story...like to get it down in words quickly...my memory is shot hahaha.

Cass, sounds like it's all going really well, in the blink of an eye big sisters L and M will be dragging miss E around and showing her all their tricks. LOL Hope you're getting plenty of sleep. xxx

Third babies are pretty awesome aren't they? Poor P just got dragged from pillar to post when she was born and not once did she ever complain about it. Can't wait to read all about it too.

Breaking news: no apnoea. No leg movements. Very fragmented sleep. It might be different sleep disorder. (Insert swearing). Having read half of the Internet, I was NOT expecting that.

He did say it can happen as a result of brain injury and chemo can be considered to cause brain injury, so there's a small body of literature which suggests there may be a connection but no one has studied it yet.

Bummer MD. Will they take your licence if it is confirmed? You did have an inkling that it might be that for a while, but I am guessing you had talked yourself out of it? I did think of you in my exam when the question of sleep and narcolepsy came up. On the bright side, a diagnoses might give you a chance at getting past the fog :crossfingers:

Trill, do girl sheep grow faster than boy sheep? Woofston is massive - I can barely lift her up anymore, but Boy is still tiny! The lady I got them off is coming soon to ring his nuts :( They are so sweet and friendly now. I was outside reading my book today and Woofston kept coming over for cuddles (and chippies :) ). I feel bad knowing that someone is going to eat them.

Nothing happening here. My new glasses are still 2-3 weeks away - do you think it is rude just to go with the ones they already have after they have ordered some in especially for me? I was going to get some family portraits done next weekend but then I realised I can't really when my glasses have a huge chunk of tape holding them together!

arte: i dont think it would be rude...but is it what you really want?? you'll have them for awhile so i'd be hesitant of making any compromises. and yep, no photos with sticky-tape glasses lol!

Arte, it doesn't seem to matter much between genders, but what I have noticed is that twinned sheep will grow slower than singletons and it doesn't level out for a few months. By the time they are 5ish months they are *usually* similar sizes. What a huge PITA with the glasses. We got some new ones for L on Tuesday and they will be here on Monday. It would be so frustrating to have to wait that long when your old ones are broken like they are. I'd be calling them and making them hurry up.

LOL Cass, no I did not get to "see" myself sleeping. I think that would be just a tad freaky. Would love to have heard the snore-track though :lol:. What I did get was a page with a "picture" of my sleep (eg visual representations of sleep, breathing, etc) and that is pretty interesting. I've been saying for years that I have reeeeeaaaaaallly looooooooong dreams, like motion feature movie length, and yeah, turns out I do. I actually do.

And yes, Arte, I had talked myself out of it. And you are absolutely right about the bright side. It also happens that the treatment of choice is also the one that is supposed to help the most with chemo brain, so it could be two sleeping birds with one stone. But it's also a very expensive medication and big hoops to jump through to get PBS authorisation for it.

I soooo hear you on the dial-up pain. We had a flash back to dial up a few months ago. I'm sure you already know you can set your browser to only download text & turn of sigs and pics etc on BB just to speed this up from interminably slow to just unbearably slow. LOL. Re the glasses, I would wait until the ones I picked came in and reschedule the photos if you can. Because they're so essential and you use them all the time, it would be annoying to be wearing not-the-ones-you-chose long term, kwim? And I would ring them up and give them a good hurry-up talking to, Trillian-style. LOL.

PS Arte, thanks for the lambkins update. TBH I was kind of relieved to hear you were having chips with them, and not having them with chips. If you know what I mean!! :rofl:

My back issues are ongoing I suppose. Poor core strength combined with a sway back. I need to get back into the physio exercises. Get a bit complacent when it doesn't hurt (same with my hip and wrist - hardly have time to do anything else once I get all the physio stuff done numerous times a day).

MD - wow, narcolepsy. A bit out of the blue.

Arte - oh dear, slow dial up. My dad is still on some internet plan from the 90's I think with some super low limit and seems to be constantly over with a ban on all access whenever we visit and yet doesn't seem to see the need to upgrade. We went over our limit and got slowed down for a couple of days and boy was it painful.

playdate tomorrow with the only little girl that we know going to the same big school next year (and turns out her mum went to school with me and MP). Then orientation starts Tuesday - I think I'm almost as excited as Miss K.

My internet is back!

My poor lambies :( They are so sweet. I feel terrible that someone is going to eat them. They come up for cuddles. Only 10 days until pet day and then they are gone :(

I am just going to wait for my glasses, since I remembered that DH is doing Movember so the photos wouldn't be that great anyway lol

Cass, I forgot to say that third babies are just awesome. Everyone with three is surprised at how well they just fit. My E is amazing, the easiest baby by far. She does appear to be a climber though, something the other two never really bothered with. She woke up the other morning and could suddenly climb down the stairs, climbs up and stands on the chairs at kindy and can climb the ladder onto the trampoline!

Ah the dreaded core weakness. I was seeing a physio for a bit (pelvic laxity came back to haunt) and honestly the number of friggen exercises were unbelievable. Of course, I usually forgot half of them the next day :lol:, but even just doing the cut-down version helped hugely. I reckon it's better to do a few here and there instead of avoiding it altogether because it's such a big deal.

Playdate sounds fun! Tomorrow we are going to the Christmas Pageant. YAY!

Sorry, Arte, that looked like I was ignoring you. I don't understand. Who is going to eat the lambs? Are they only loaners? Can't they go to some rampant hand-spinning yarn-dyeing freak who will love them and shear them and talk to them and never, ever eat them?

Yip MD, the lambs are loaners, but the path of destiny doesn't have many forks in it when you are a lamb lol.

well you better make sure the tide stops at the border :lol I'm in denial that it's getting close to Christmas. Just can't get into it this year. MD, unless they were merino lambs then they are only bred for eating. Crossbred lambs don't have wool very suitable for anything really because it's a very coarse, strong wool. I think they use crossbred wool for furnishings etc. So yes, unfortunately it is the lot of the crossbred lamb to have a fork in it's destiny.

Arte we had a few days of dial up at the end of last month and it sucks! LOL at movember making the pics look bad anyway. Still very frustrating for you. I got a text yesterday to say L's glasses had come in! I just don't know what is the hold up for yours that could take so long. Special order or not they shouldn't take that long. I'd still be complaining on principle ;)

Cally, that play date sounds lovely. I'm sure she will like having a special little friend to start orientation with. Is she going to wear her uniform or haven't you got it yet? I wanted A to wear his, because he can be really fickle about *having* to wear particular clothes items - so if he feels like wearing a blue shirt but he had to wear a read one, then he'd crack the ****s because he 'felt' like wearing a blue one that day LOL. so I needed him to get used to school = uniform. But hardly any kids wore it this time. I remember when P started nearly all the kids wore theirs. But I think that in A's year group there are a lot of first born kids too.

talking of pelvic instability, i got the 'prolapse' talk from my IMs the other day...apprently it is the special one they give to all women who have 3 or more kids. we talked about cervix falling out, bowels...:o apparently i have to seriously limit my standing up time over the next 2 weeks minimum. this first week has been limited to only 10 minute stretches and they want me to continue into next week as well! also had me starting some basic pelvic floor exercises on day 2. interestingly they mentioned that it is not so much for now, but is about ensuring long term health as during menopause all the old pelvic floor injuries rear their ugly heads again and the risk of prolapse is really high. freak out lol!

Cass, I never got told any of that after E! And she was so fat the titanic could have followed her out lol. I was back doing the kindy run on Day 3, perhaps that is why my fanny bits are falling out lol.

Cass, have you got some of those recovery shorts? I wouldn't go so far as to say the risk of prolapse is really high, but it's more to do with the changing hormone levels during menopause. You gave birth last week. Things are going to be a mess for a while. If you get onto the pelvic floor exercises now, you aren't likely to have a problem. I do feel that they have gone a bit OTT though because cervixes and bowels falling out is what I'd expect to hear from a gyno, not midwives TBH. They don't just 'fall out' but they can drop a little and it's all to do with the ligaments that support the uterus. Maybe you could end up with a mild cystocele or rectocele, but they don't just come all the way out that much unless the prolapse is very severe. You would have to experience significant trauma for it to come all the way out. Even a grade 4 prolapse which is the most severe is when the bowel or bladder are protruding from the vagina all the time, but even then it's generally not that much, more of a bulge. that's basic anatomy. Women can have problems after one baby, and some women with 6 can have none. Do the exercises, but don't panic about it. I never got a talk after P about prolapse being a risk, and certainly not after A. Not even the physio who came to see me in hospital said anything about an increased risk of prolapse.

Play date went well - at least until some disagreement over who had more special food last night. I think they'd reached their time limit together. She's fallen asleep on the couch which doesn't happen often, so it must have been a good day.

No uniform for orientation here. Will probably buy part of it when we are there. Photos I've seen in the paper in previous years I don't recall anyone in uniform.

MD - My physio wrote them down, but I just filed it away because I was sure I remembered it all. Pulled it out a few weeks ago and I swear new ones have appeared on the sheet!

Arte - that is a long time for glasses, but that storm could have delayed them big time.

Trill: oh yeah, the midwives were obviously going through extreme cases to highlight how valuable our lady bits are. They were discussing how it is important to look beyond the pelvic floor only in terms of incontinence and understand the importance of preventing prolapse. basically they told me that i need to give myself time to recover...i think they struggle with clients that feel so awesome after births that they are up and at 'em super quick. I guess it is about highlighting how it is important to look after ourselves as well as our kids in those first few weeks ITMS. I am so glad DH was there for the talk lol! he has been super awesome in ensuring that i do rest. and i have to say that it is making a big difference...i am so less tired this time around in general.

Cally: oh man, my midwives gave me a HUGE booklet from the phsyio they work with regarding all my pelvic floor exercises (and rest requirements) and i too also swear that there are like a million more things than the last time i looked into all this stuff :o but then again, i love living in denial and have been avoiding the whole issue for years now lol.

Honestly Arte, that trip would be my worst nightmare LOL. I love my husband and I love my kids, but the only people getting a holiday for 3 weeks would be them. It would be nothing like a holiday for me at all. A holiday for me is going away on my own and doing NOTHING even remotely like looking after other people. Even when we go away and stay in a motel, it's still the same old crap for me - cooking, cleaning, washing and making sure the kids aren't killing each other. For them it's bliss.

Cass I didn't need the midwives to scare the wickywackies out of me after DD1, I searched the internet and came across (worst case scenario) photos of prolapses myself :o. I don't recommend learning about prolapse that way LOL. Good though that the key message is to rest and recover, it makes sense on all kinds of levels.

Cally, at our school they don't wear uniforms for orientation day either.

I was lucky enough to escape the house for a couple of hours today by myself... so glad because my girls have been bickering non-stop. You would think that an age gap of nine and a half years would be a protective factor against sibling arguments but apparently NOT. Miss E in particular seems to be going through a phase of "I'm bored" and insisting that she needs movies/ipods/screen time (!) which irritates me no end. We keep the screen time down with H and she was much better at entertaining herself. But FDC lady's girls have all got ipods etc now and I think the total screen time is increasing when she's there too. Now she wants an ipod for Christmas but she's in for a massive disappointment I'm afraid.

Trill, I totally know I am going to be in charge of planning meals, activities and clothing but I figure I will be doing all that stuff at home so may as well get to see some sights while I am at it. I am not expecting relaxing by any stretch, just a change of scene. My ideal holiday would also be alone. Just lounging, doing nothing at all in a scenic location.

MD, thanks :hug: Nothing out of the ordinary. I think we have officially reached the terminal 'staying together for the kids' stage of the relationship. Nothing new to me, but seems DH has just come to the same conclusion (plus a couple of stingy, kick-in-the-guts comments). It has been better, and it has been worse so I guess we will keep plodding on.

We were thinking of getting W a cheap tablet for Xmas but decided that his screen time was slowly increasing and that would be too much so at least we are limiting him by him having to borrow DH's gear.

I hate that MD. everywhere you go you see really little kids playing on phones and even in the most inappropriate (IMO) places. So many kids just do not have a clue how to entertain themselves and make up their own games. A will whinge that he's bored and want to watch a DVD, so I just hunt him outside and tell him to play and usually I'm calling him back inside because it's lunchtime etc. I refuse to have kids inside playing games or watching TV when the weather is so beautiful.

oh i am glad i am not only one! today miss L was hanging around me like a bad smell because she wanted more tv time...i told her to go outside and play in the gorgeous sunshine! so rare to have such sublime weather here in melbourne that i was frustrated that she didnt want to take advantage of it. we had the playdate today and the kids think that playing together is watching dvds!!! :wall:

Arte: i get the whole change of scenery thing too. we are planning a road trip to wollongong and yeah it will be the same parental duty nightmare...but at least it will have ocean views :lol:. that said, 3 weeks *could* be pushing it...especially if there has been some relationship revelations (massive :hug: btw, do you really think that is the status quo? is there possibility now that DH has also seen the situation that there could be a more positive, revived and shared way forward? or has the relationship just shifted too much...which happens xx), but then again the time away can be really good as a fresh start just in time for the new year.

Ah, actually, when DD was born was ... BEFORE GOOGLE!!! In fact it was pretty much pre-search engine, so I was pretty much limited to whatever I could find using Yahoo directories. Yep, that was when Yahoo was cutting edge :lol:

In my defence I was living in a small town in the middle of nowhere, and the doctor I was seeing was freaking hopeless. In the end, I saved my droopy fanny problems up another 6 months until we moved and I was able to flush out a decent GP finally.

Oh Arte! We posted at the same time and I just realised I missed your post. I'm so sorry that it's like that for you :hug: I would never advocate someone leaving their DH, but please don't stay together for the kids if you feel there really is no future in it. They will know that things aren't right. My parents stayed together longer than they should and it ****ing sucked. I can't beat around the bush about it. Mum and dad had the freedom of him being a long haul truck driver, but when they were together it was awful for us. We couldn't even speak sometimes because the tension was just so thick when they were together. And being older I often felt that it was my responsibility to make things better - no child should ever have that pressure put on them. Then it just descended into constant fighting before Mum finally left. The way I see it, kids form their knowledge and understanding from the relationships they see modelled to them, and that's why I work so hard at getting it right, because I don't want to screw my kids over the way I was. But you know what is right for you and maybe this way will work for your situation :hug: It pains us all to see you like that, just resigning yourself to it :hug:

Thanks guys. It isn't that bad. We bicker sometimes but it isn't full scale war or anything. I think pretty much every single thing I do annoys DH but I don't mind him, I can live with it. I grew up with a single mother and I wouldn't wish that upon my children.
DH won't leave because he doesn't think I am a good parent and wouldn't trust me to have them alone (I am ruining them, W's issues are my fault etc). I won't leave my kids. So that leaves accepting that things could have been better but making the best of what we have chosen for ourselves. There isn't anger or hate, only indifference (on my part at least).

I won't mention it again. I just didn't ever think I would be one of those people. Thanks for letting me vent, I have no one in real life to talk to and it is all about keeping up appearances lol

Nah Trill, you didn't overstep. I am watching. If I ever judge it to be better for the kids to end it then I will, but for now I won't trade their happiness for mine itms. Plus, I really don't want to do the yard work lol.

Enough with my petty little drama though :)

I am finding it hard to come up with Christmas ideas, it seems to follow too closely after the birthdays! Erin is old enough now to be aware of what it going on so we can't really leave her out, but she is still in our room and I don't want that piled up with kid stuff. Planning to eventually move the two girls into our big room and we will take A's, but I suspect there needs to be a better degree of sharing ability (and some better sleep) before it will work.

It's tough when you have no real space in your house like that. Is it an option for E to share with W? Or would he not like that at all? What we did when the girls were little and we put them in the same room together was to stagger their bedtimes, so we'd put E to bed first and then put P to bed. I have no idea what to do about christmas either. Just cannot even contemplate the thought of it yet. I've started shopping and picking up small bits and pieces here and there, but I will leave the bulk of it till close to christmas. We just need to get harvest out of the way first and go from there.
