Guys how quickly can mastitis appear? I feel shocking! I have to see a dentist this week as a tooth has split. Could be that, but wondering about my left breast which until today was producing nothing although filled with milk.
I am so sad and just keep crying. Why can't I just enjoy this time and not be sick?

So I'm not super chatty at the moment because I don't have much to add on the BF side of conversation.

Williever- a cousin of mine developed mastitis within a week or two of giving birth.

I'm happy to do a FB group too if others are xx

Little miss is running like clockwork, trying to enjoy it because I feel like it is too good to be true and it's all gonna go to poop! First time mum worries lol xx

Williever how are you feeling today? If you're feeling flu-ey it really might be mastisis. Won't hurt to see the gp and maybe get antibiotics... it sucks that you're feeling unwell at this time

wannabubby so glad things are going well!

Cool, maybe we can start a fb group and whoever likes can join? And we can chat here too so no one is left out! I haven't started a group before, anyone know how to do it? Otherwise I will try figure it out when I'm on a pc

Afm - we're at ds' newborn shoot now! Never was organised enough to do one for dd and wished I did, so booked this one in awhile ago. Felt like quite an achievement getting the whole family packed up and here! My boobs are feeling better but now I have huge sore lumps on my underarms which dr google says is still blocked ducts from bf...

Well I have an irrational fear and hatred of Facebook but this group is really important to me so I would be prepared to get over it if everyone else wants to do the fb thing...

We discovered one of the downsides to bottle feeding this morning. DH forgot he was boiling them last night and they boiled dry and melted! Luckily I've been breastfeeding every chance I get and was able to keep bub going until the shops opened

I got a microwave sterilizer today

Lachlan has put on 445g in a week! The mchn said we are good to start weaning him off the formula during the day and see how he goes. DH got some brewers yeast today so I'm finally gonna make me some lactation cookies to give my boobies a helping hand. Wish me luck!

    Babies Born ~ September 2014

I'm baaaaack. Been MIA with a clingy baby! David has been stuck to me since coming home from hospital but last night he slept 2 hours in his bassinet for the first time in a week. As much as I love him being close in the carrier, my back needs a break. I've pinched a nerve in my back & it kills with the carrier on at the moment.
I'll read through all the posts later but right now I'm going to make myself a coffee & drink it while it's HOT!!! Wish me luck. Lol

Eta I'm happy to do FB & this group.

Eivie- your fb post is funny, not so much about the bottles xx

We were using glass bottles and the other day when I put a lid on one the rim snapped off in my hand!! Safe to say I demanded a full refund for ALL bottles even without receipts and we had to do a mad dash to the shops and bought plastics. Was so scary to think she could have swallowed glass of I hadn't of noticed, because at first it just seemed like the lid went on crooked but it wasn't till I reopened it I realised it had broken..
And no breast milk for me to fall back on, lucky we had one bottle made up to get her through the last feed before shops opened although I was reluctant =(

I was so settled into her routine during the night that I woke in a panic this morning cos she didn't wake for a feed!! Even though she had made a noise in her sleep which is what woke me I still panicked! But all good she just had a really good nights sleep!! Such a scary feeling though!

GOOD LUCK Kalina with that coffee hope it was amazing xx

Re: Babies Born ~ September 2014

So scary wannabubby. DF & I tossed up the glass bottles. Kinda glad we went with the plastic ones from the start now though. I'd be paranoid as all buggery after reading your post. Lol at freaking because she didn't wake for her feed. I think we all get a bit spooked if they're quiet for "too long".
My coffee was FANTASTIC! I even got some housework done without having to reach around a carrier. He slept the whole hour & a half in his bassinet, woke for his 11 o'clock feed, had a bum change & cuddles & then I put him down awake but settled & he's gone back to sleep. Ds1 is on school holidays so we are now having one on one time doing some reading.

Wow Wannabubby, how dangerous! Lucky you noticed... I'm with you on the sleep/freak thing, past 2 nights we've gone to bed and not woken up until nearly 7. Mind you he's been an angry wombat until after 1 so it's only 5-6 hours but it's brilliant sleep.

Cattie I feel for you with the clingy baby, how exhausting. I'm glad he is settling today, a good sign he's feeling a bit better. Yay for hot coffee!

Super jealous of hearing about these blocks of sleep. The longest I have managed since zen was born was 3 hours. He is very unsettled, waking hourly, sometimes more, from about 1am onward so I try to nap in the day so I dont get all cranky sleep deprived. I thought I might get a different type of baby after DS1 but it appears DP and I make unsettled babies who scream when awake

    Babies Born ~ September 2014

I have an infection in the uterus. I'm glad it's figured out. They were going to admit me until I cried. Now I have oral antibiotics and have to check in daily. Fingers crossed it works. Can not imagine having to be separated.... :-(
One of those crappy days. Had a tooth pulled out yesterday too. Got to laugh really.

    Positives:
I am home with my family.
    I love my babies.
My DH is an amazing help.

Oh Phyrephly, you sound exhausted! I'm sorry to hear bub is so unsettled I've been having very little sleep overall too just got really lucky the past 2 nights.

Williever I hope the infection clears up quickly, it sounds awful. Glad to hear your man is looking after you.

AFM the lactation cookies seem to be working which is great! I don't have abundant milk but I do seem to have a lot more than yesterday. Just doing a lot of cluster feeding today which is nice bonding time. He's only had 1 bottle so far...
