    Babies Born ~ September 2014

Kalina- sounds like he is getting used to his bassinet, let's hope it continues and his naps get longer xx

Eivie- she ended up sleeping 7 hours, but I only slept the 6 cos that's when I woke up panicked!! But I will take it, I did a lot of shift work growing up so I learnt to sleep where I drop and I'm happy if I get 4 hours lol.

Phy- sorry to here Zen is so unsettled =( how long did it last with DS1?

Williever- sorry to hear about the infection but glad they found out what's wrong! And super happy for u they let u stay with ur babies xx

    Babies Born ~ September 2014

Wow sounds like there are some well sleeping bubs here!

It's interesting reading your posts and being a few days behind. Last week you were all complaining about being hot and sweaty at night and I couldn't relate. But after last night I completely agree! Hot sweaty flushes, especially around my boobs!
We have settled well at home, came home on the day Maya was born given I had no complications and it has been lovely. First few nights we muddled our way through but the last two nights have been a good routine of Maya feeding every 2-3 hrs (exclusively breast milk so I can't expect much more than that), then straight back to sleep in her bed. She loves sleeping on her side and loves sleeping next to a warm heat pack. I have heaps of milk but had to pump twice on each side for what felt like all day for 2 days to get it! Nipples are recovering, although I find it hard to help them as when I use the Lansinoh I find she doesn't latch on as good at the next feed. Fussy Miss!

Williever you poor thing, take care. I LOVE your positive list.

Eivie I am glad the cookies worked for you. Do they taste nice?

Re: Babies Born ~ September 2014

Jessica it's great you have settled into a good routine, shame about joining the sweaty mess club though - welcome lol. I'm still waking up sweaty but I sleep on a thick towel and have a change of clothes ready to go so it's not as gross and upsetting now, it's just become part of my new routine.

I made the basic recipe for the cookies with reduced sugar and I like them. They taste healthy so dh hated the one I gave him lol. I want to try with coconut oil instead of butter and maybe some shredded coconut too - yum. I tried the raw dough which is supposed to more potent but it made me feel a bit sick and gave me weird beer burps!

In breaking news I had milk for the overnight feed! I've had trouble even getting a drop overnight until now. Also I have milk from the very first drop now instead of colostrum followed by milk so it seems I spent a long time with transitional milk and after 18 days my milk has finally come in properly! Yay cookies! My next challenge is finding nursing tops that don't drive me mental...

Wannabubby, DS1 was unsettled at night until he was well over 2

Good on you eivie! Lots of patience and persistence paid off! I hear you on the nursing tops. Thank god its getting warmer, singlets will be my friend. Lucky I dont mind pulling my boob out whetever lol.

I had a visit with my MW yesterday which helped me feel better about managing zen thriugh the witching hour. I have a plan, go for a walk with him in the hug a bub with DS1 then get dinner ready for us, then showers for us all, then massage for zen then bouncing patting whatever until he is asleep.

Today I did the day care drop off with both kids, DP is back at work. I managed a small grocery shop and I'm about to goout for lunch to my old work. Zen has been sleeping so I expect him to wake just as we are leaving... wish me luck!

Luck! That sounds like a good plan Phyrephly, hopefully you can settle into a good routine, especially now dp is back at work. Remember Zen is a different baby and he won't necessarily follow the same path as his brother. Here's hoping he lives up to his name

Re: Babies Born ~ September 2014

Yaya yaya my baby is here. He is perfect. Huge feed after birth then 6hr sleep now on the boob again. Quick birth but we knew that would happen. DH and I in the bathroom, I was standing! No idea it was going to happen that quick. Was having less than 30sec contraptions that I thought just were not good enough to be doing anything. Then half way through one it changed to a push, his head. Lucky I make an unmistakable noise when pushing and DH pulled downy pants and supported the head. Maybe a minute later the body was out, DH passed him straight to me. then called the kids in to the room, then MW came 45mins later after DH text her to say baby was here placenta birthed about 10mins after MW arrived. Gee I love that soothing feeling of that coming out. 4kg, head 36cm, length 37cm. He is my most cooked and biggest baby and longest baby he is perfect and still without a name.
Sorry it's short and sweet but I know how much we love to hear the details.
I love Homebirth. Well I guess 2x free births
