My prize? A house. If I don’t go back to work full time we can’t afford the mortgage for much longer. I want the stability for B that owning gives over renting. I don’t want to ever have to worry about needing to find a new place. That and being able to go over seas periodically to see my family. I couldn’t give a rats about seeing my dad, but I miss my mum (even though she comes every year) and my brother…I’ve not seen him for nearly 5 years now…but we get to at Christmas! That’s my reward for going back to work…we’re flying home for 3 weeks!
As for MIL I’m with you. At first I kinda believed her because who on earth would make up having a stroke?? But the more I hear and see the more and more I convinced that she did make it up which is just….actually I can’t even think of words to describe what it is. I had a really close great aunt who had several strokes, her whole left side of her face was paralyzed after the first, and after her 4th she was basically a vegetable on the outside, but the saddest part was you could see that even though she was completely paralyzed that she still had all her wits about her, it was like she was trapped in her own body. Couldn’t move, couldn’t talk just really really sad.
I had to laugh at the look on her face though when DH told her B would never be allowed in a car with her and it would be years before he was ever left alone with her. You could almost see her working it through then trying to figure out how she could ‘un-stroke’ herself
