AFU - got a cold-ridden household, DS is being extra clingy and has woken at 1.30-2am for the last three nights and it's taken 2+hours to get him back to sleep each time, so we are all exhausted. Will be really glad when this cold is over with.
holly we feed once a day after brekky about 4 times a week. with kinder DD will do 3 yr old in 2012, not next year, so she'll be older (i think im the only one holding back) but she ill do toddler group next year with me. our kinder applications for out council are differnt to most in that u apply directly to the kinder, ours have nly just come out for next year, i strongly strongly recomment they do 3 yr old in vic as with things changing in 2013 i know at our kinder we have to drop an entire group to fit in the extra hours and if you havent done 3yr old at our kinder you wil have NO hope of gettin into our 4 yr old program, so even if they dont do 3yr old next year cos they dont get in try for 3yr old for the following year,,
Ahhh so quite a few of us are still breastfeeding!! Heaven, I do really love the cuddles and bonding when we feed during the day, but I do not like the complete dependence on it to fall asleep and all throughout the night to resettle. I actually can't stand it!! It's a real problem that L can't fall asleep without my boobs...I am having an operation in July and I need to be in hospital overnight and I have no idea how L is going to cope without me so that's why I'm stressing now about weaning, especially overnight.
Shell, I heard about people lining up too!! Was that Bentleigh West?? I have called so many kinders/day cares/elcs in our area and most have a cut off of 3 years by april 30th. HOWEVER - they cannot attend kinder until they turn three - so I will enrol Leon and he will miss out on the first 3 or so weeks but then he can start going. Mckinnon kinder is the one I wanted him to go to but their cut off is 3 years old by Jan 31st, which sucks!! Atm, we are going to look at East Bentleigh Preschool and Centre Road Kindergarten, coz they're the only ones that have a good chance of getting into.
Olive, a few people have suggested holding L back a year too, but I'm not sure - I'm going to see how he is in 6 or so months time and decide. If I do hold him back he will be 4 years old within a few weeks of starting 3yo kinder, which might be fine for him developmentally, but we'll see!! And yes, I've heard there will be changes - are they phasing out 3yo kinder to give more hours to 4yo or something like that? I also noticed a lot of kinders I've spoken to give preference to children who will also be doing 4yo there, and families who already have sibling there etc, which makes it even more difficult. Also, the day care centres and elc's are just waiting list only atm, coz most of their kinder spots get taken by the toddlers already there that are moving up.
So frustrating... and it's only kinder...I haven't even thought about primary school!!
Heaven, we do gymbaroo and Leon LOVES it - a few of the mums bring their younger ones and they just sleep in the pram. Siblings aren't allowed to use the equipment, so when DD2 gets a bit older it might get a bit hard trying to keep her distracted, and a bit unfair too!! Do you go to a playgroup? We do playgroup as well and siblings are always more than welcome.
det - omg at 70 houses! That must have driven you nuts at the time but worth it now you've found the right one. That's great the settlement dates are the same and you can extend etc straight away! will be chaos by the sound of it in 5 weeks time LOL!

Great to hear of those of you still feeding. It's awesome stuff! I am still sad sometimes that DS weaned and I often wonder if he would still be feeding if he hadn't had the disruption of DP being sick last year. Mostly I just focus on the positive that we got to nearly 20 months and it was a largely painless process from his point of view.
RE behaviour - DS does all the no stuff too. Mostly he is pretty good and if I can involve him somehow or give him a choice (like the be carried or hold hands mentioned) then we are both happy. I am not sure how I would go with more than one and dealing with this behaviour though. If there was an older sibling to also give attention to it might be a different story!
AFM - DS is doing really well and growing up way to quickly. He is sitting at the table at my parents place when we're down there to eat most meals and it won't be long before the high chair is gone for good. We are starting to trust him in more areas of the house so we might get rid of one of the safety gates soon too which will be nice. If you haven't seen the other thread, DP did well and the surgery was a success. There is heaps more treatment ahead and I've just read that there's about a 5% mortality rate for some of it which is a bit scary but trying to stay positive. We're not talking about the ins and outs of what's happening in front of DS this time and it seems to be working in that DS is much more settled this time around (plus he understands so much more now 5 months on).

Hi Kaz, glad to hear that DP responded well to treatment. I'm always thinking of you guys!! DS sounds like he's being a perfect little boy too!
Have been giving more thought to holding L back a year re kinder. A few other people have suggested it too. He is very clingy, and I can't see that stopping any time soon, so maybe it's better?
Holly- yep was Bentleigh West, very good there, we'll prolly just do occasional care (set day type) or day at CC or something next year then 4yr after that.
L might surprise you when you go into hossy and yr not there, may settle cause he knows no boobies there so won't try for it.
Kaz- Been following your other thread, alot been going on for you guys. DS sounds like he is doing well with everything going on.
Malyna- how you all going? Think you sent the colds over here.
Heaven- finding activities for both was always my problem, like Holly suggested try gymbaroo or kindygym, library story times are good, play group.
I know I am forever MIA...I am sorry...my world is just crazy...breastfeeding...yes but not DD1 lol...DD2 who will be 1 in May...where has that gone???? Have finally got them sleeping at the same time in the afternoon so I get an hour to sleep too! DD1 is such a gorgeous big sister even though the terrible 2's have hit!

Kaz - *hugs* - LOl at J, with sleeping on the floor. There's been a couple of nights where the only way I can get DS to sleep is on the floor, so I make a nest for him and put him down. The book is Young Adult - urban fantasy - so it's set in a real life situation but it has paranomal elements to it.

Wow, everyone's so busy organising things whether that be cc or events for little people to go to. I think I've missed a few posts so I do apologise but it is ridiculously early in the morning so forgive me.
Struggling at the moment with the role of superwoman that I've had to adopt. Really wish that DH would pick up his game, but I don't see it happening. Am at the point in my life where I don't need another person to pick up after. I'm just going to leave it at that. Tired and cranky don't make for good posts.
Edit: Sorry remembered some asked if we were over the colds. I'm not. I don't get any time to rest or sleep in, so the blasted thing has lasted 3 weeks.
