Arty sleeps in sleeping bags now it's getting cooler. He has never like being wrapped and sleeps like a star fish.
I got his first 2 light ones from best and less and then his grandma made him 4 more in a fleecy material and put gloves on them.
He just slept from 7:30pm - 3 am!!! 7:30 hrs. Not hating the no sleeping during the day so much if this keeps up!!
Well I got his ergo today and I dont think he likes it. When he woke from his first nap with it on, DP said he was starting to crack it big time because he couldnt move his arms lol.
X's needles went well, although his poor little face made my heart break. I felt so so bad, after the first needle he was starting to get over it only to get jabbed with another. Poor baby I wanted to burst into tears, but there were tons of people around so I held it back. DP can take him to his next ones, I cant stand seeing the poor boys face lol. He recovered fine though, stopped crying in about 30 secs then snoozed on me for our 15minute wait.
His been grizzly and sleeping on and off all day, and has fed so much. Its been nice snuggling with him hehe. Only just got him in bed, after waking at 5 from a nap he hasnt wanted to go down and has snoozed all up maybe 30 mins in that time. He's very happy though, he started laughing today! Well kind of lol, just the start of a laugh. I was playing peek-a-boo with him, it was so cute.
Well I'm off to check him and hopefully his still sleeping, I'm starving lol
Shan - Make your DP take him to the 12 month ones. They're the worst IMO as they are loads more aware of their surroundings and don't settle as easily afterwards. Lucinda has a bruise on each leg from hers as she moved when they were getting done
Shan, I felt like crying too! Sophie's face and her cry were so sad i could have bust into tears! I hope Xavier is feeling better and back to his old self.
I ordered a Wrap Me Up today as a friend suggested it, Sophie is starting to wiggle her way out of her wrap at night and i have to wrap her cold little arms back up so she'll go back to sleep. I hope it works.
Oh i'm so excited! a good friend of ours who is a photographer flew down and made a suprize visit yesterday to take some photos of Soph and they are gorgeous!! I cant wait to get them back. We had such a great arvo she also did some beautiful family photos aswell. She is comming back in July and i'm going to get dressed in my wedding dress (boy i hope it still fits!) and she is going to get some Trash The Dress photos hehe i can't wait!
Better go and do some house work before little miss wakes up!
We have our jabs next week, the little guy won't like me very much, but at least it's over quickly.
Samcougar - how great to be able to get some good shots. It's so lovely to have great photos in the house I think. Grandparents seem to love them too!
Mum+Mum - great news on the sleep. Better to sleep at night than not at all!
We use a Bubbaroo joey pouch which is like a light swaddle, his startle reflex is still too strong not to swaddle, but the pouch means he doesn't have to be tied up. Sadly though, we have yet to sleep much past four hours but every night he goes to sleep without crying from 7pm, so I guess I should be grateful for that as that means at the latest 7:30pm each night I have an hour or so to myself before I go to bed.
Hope everyone is surviving - I am loving the first day below 32 degrees since December. My little buglet is all rugged up and has been sooooo much happier today. I don't think he likes the heat or the resulting air conditioning!
Samcougar, how has the wrap me up gone? I thinking of getting one to try with DS. He really doesnt like the ergo, he cant get his arms up by his face how he likes. Which I should have realised before getting it haha.
Xavier has slept awesomely the last two days. He's slept much better during the day. Tuesday night he slept 8.30pm-8.30am with one feed at 6am. Last night he was a little unsettled and went down at 9.30pm, and slept to 9.30am! He had one feed at 5.30am, and another at 8.30am. I thought he would stay up at 8.30 like he does every morning, but nope he went back to sleep for another hour. Very happy with that!
Do your LO's have bedtimes?
Xavier is sleepy from about 6.30 onwards, so I try to settle him to be in bed at 7pm. Most nights he's in bed by then or a little afterwards, but he can be up and down a few times until he's asleep for the night anywhere from 8.30-10pm(on a bad night).
And I think curry is off the menu for me D: I made some in the slow cooker yesterday for dinner, and at his two morning feeds today he was REALLY gassy and struggling to get it out. Shame too, it was a nice curry that I'd love to make again lol.
Lairdoz, It's so much nicer with the cooler weather. The last few days have been cold and rainy, It's so nice to rug up!
Shan, The wrap hasn't arrived yet, I can't wait though i hope it will get here today if not it won't be till next week I hope Xavier keeps up his sleep habits for you thats a great sleep!
Sophie's bedtime is at about 8.30 - 9.00 and sleeps through till about 5.30ish unless she unwraps herself and i have to wrap her back up during the night but she goes back to sleep without a feed.
Bugger on the curry!! I can't have chocolate! If i have any the next day Soph has the biggest pains in the belly and just crys and crys! So i am dreading Easter when everyone gets chocolate and i can't have any
I'm dreading the day I find out that something I eat doesn't agree with Lucinda. I pray it isn't chilli or chocolate, though I have had both and so far so good.
Quick one from me.
Having a photog in the 'circle' is awesome for all the pics you get.
Arty has an uncle and 2 of my besties. Our house is filled with pics.
Infact I just lined our hallway with about 30 pics in all different coloured shapes and sized frames. It looks tops!
His uncle took my ticker photo.
We just had another shoot on the weekend, a surprise for my mums 50th. Of my siblings and Arthur. One lot of shots we did was like the Brady bunch. With us looking in all different directions... The mock up one looked awesome so can't wait to see once photo shopped.
Arty just slept from 7:30pm - 6 am with one feed at 2. That's the best night yet!!!!
Also. Has everyones skin gone to s h I t? I am like a spotty teenager. It's awful!!!!
mum+mum, gotta love all of the beautiful photos, you hallway sounds like a great idea. I may have to steal your idea if that's ok, our hallway is so boring. Argh.... my skin is sooo bad at the moment, i'm kinda glad i'm not the only one. I thought i was over being a teenager!! oh boy i hope it clears up soon! wow Arty had an awsome sleep! it's nice to catch up on a bit every now and then.
Lisa, I forgot about Chilli! I hope i can still eat that i may have to try some tonight
Ok question i feel a bit silly asking but how often do babies poo? Soph hasn't done one since Monday and i'm getting a bit worried but she seems her normal happy self. She wee's alot tho.
So agree with having crappy skin! apparently it's all our hormones getting back to normal but 8'm too old to still have acne!!
M+M my Mum has her hallway filled with famil pics with all different frames too. It has everyone from her folks,p, my sister and I, my wedding and now there will be my DD, DS and my DH which is lovely. I have heaps of family pics but found I was changing them all the time as I got new favourites every time I took photos of my DD!
Our sleeping is still fairly ordinary, but we're getting there. DS goes to bed at 7pm, sleeps to 10:30 then has a feed, sleeps until about 2:30, and has a feed, then sleeps to about 6am and has another feed before he sleeps again until we all get up about 7am which is our OK to get out of bed time in our family. If my DH does the 10:30 feed, I only have to get up once which I am very happy with considering what I have been doing. He has a cold too so along with his reflux, he's not been very happy.
Sorry for my mumbling, better get off to bed while I can. The little guy has been giggling and starting to babble so I'm a very happy Mummy
I'm another with shocking skin! I want to be pregnant again!! The hormones kept my pimples under control, and I my eczema disappeared. Now its back with a vengeance.
Sam, is Sophie formula or bf? As far as I've been told and read, its normal for bf babies to go a week or so without poos. Formula I've no idea though
M+M, your hallway sounds awesome! I wish we owned our own house so I could do something similar. We're renting though so I would have to ask permission to put them up. The photoshoot sounds lovely, what a great idea! I should ask my mum to come do one for me, I dont have many photos of Xavier & I together as I'm the one taking the photos lol. And what an awesome sleep from Arty!
Lairdoz, thats great your little man is slowly getting better with his sleep. Especially with having a cold.
Afm, Xavier had a bit of a reaction to the oral vac. Since having it his vomited at least once a day as opposed to once a week, and has had so many more poo nappies than normal. He's also been grizzly during his awake times more so than usual. But I think he's slowly getting better, the last couple of days have been better.
I plan to go tomorrow to Portrait Place and book in for the voucher thing that was in the baby bounty bag. I wish I had of done it while he was still a newborn, so I want to do it now before he loses more of his wee little baby look lol.
Hi girls.. Sorry I've been MIA, I just find I struggle for time to do much else but have a quick read of how everyone is doing It sounds like everyone is doing well and babies are settling in...
Shan23, sorry to hear your eczema has come back, I know that can be horrible... Is there anything you can use to help it? I hope you get some beautiful baby pics, I sort of wish I'd got newborn ones now esp as this is my last, but I was too tired at the time! Hope the vomiting stops.
Sam, I've read that babies on formula don't poo as often, maybe do a quick google search but I think once a week is normal. If you are still worried maybe speak w a child health nurse..
M+M, your photos sound just lovely..
Sorry I cant do more personals, it's so hard to keep scrolling back & Im running out of me time.. So much to do! I said to my hubby yesterday, if I want everything in the house as I want it, ie. clean & tidy, time to keep in touch w friends etc then I really don't have much down time to just read. W 3 kids now, if I get a spare moment where they are all sleeping I am using it to sleep!!
Lil Lewie is my best baby yet.. Settles well most of the time, most nights I put her down at 7pm (she sometimes is unsettled until 9pm) & dream feed at 10pm then sleeps through until b/w 2 -3 and then back to sleep until 7am when I get her up to start her day. But last night she slept until 4am which was brilliant but OMG my boobs. I would be happy if it was 5am as I could start my day then rather than trying to go back to sleep until 6 - 6:30 when the other little people get up. I am also trying to fit in at least 30 min to an hour of exercise a couple of days a week as I really want to get back to my fit pre pregnancy body, which is 20kg's away
Anyhoo, hope you all had a great weekend & got some sleep.
TUP - I didn't realise you had a LouLou too How cute. My baby girl gets called LouLou, Louberry, Blueberry or Little Lovely! lol. Mostly she is called Little Lovely. I hear you on the limited time. I usually multitask and go on facebook while I am feeding Lucy in bed.
Samcougar - Breastfed babies can go a fair while between poos. Lucy poos loads of times per day, especially on those days where I can tell she is more thirsty than anything. Apparently more foremilk means more poos (?) I could be misinformed there though but I do recall being told that with Harrison. If they drink more and get lots of hindmilk, they will poo less - apparently. It can't hurt to ask the ECHN or Dr when you're there next.
Hi everyone
AFM - No real time for personals right now. Lucy is fantastic but yesterday & today she has slept so much! It is great - kinda - but still worrying. I worry that she is getting unwell. She seems fine and has appropriate wet & soiled nappies so I shouldn't worry too much, right?
I am hoping to catch her on video tonight having a massive giggle. She does it EVERY night when she catches sight of our lightshade. It is funny because when I was in labour with her, I used it has a focus point to help me get through the contractions and when she was crowning.
Lisa, my little Loulou is actually a play on our last name "Lewis" as I couldn't come up w a nickname from her name, Miranda.. I also call her Lil Lewie & Lottie but haven't really decided yet.. Both my other little people have nicknames so I'd really like Miranda to have one..
QUick question, does anyone take multivitamins? I am just exhausted (to be expected) & just thought maybe that might help... Not sure if maybe it's just a waste of money...
Also does anyone use MCN? I am tossing around the idea of using them. Not sure if I should get one with snaps (OSFA) or the velco tabs. Any brands that are good or not? A friend uses Jax naps & LOVES them but she is in Tsv so I cant see them..
Anyhoo, hope your all getting some sleep I also think my signature thing is wrong b/c she was 2 mths (8 wks) last Friday so she should be 2mths & 3 days. Oh well..
Wow it's super quiet in here....
We are still feeding every three hours during the day and night which is pretty hard. We were doing four hourly at night, but for the last three nights its's been back to every three hours....
The little guy does seem to be very calm and happy generally now though which is a good thing. I was looking up some pics tonight of my DD a the same age and proved a point that my two kids look very similar at the same age as my DH assumed the pic I was looking at was our little man, when infect it wad our daughter at the same age. Can't wait to see what he ends up looking like!
Hi to all the Mums and hope you are enjoying your now not so little bubbies xxx
Shan. We own our house but spent 6 weeks painting 5 coats before we moved in so all our picks are stuck up with 3M picture holders like Velcro.
Expensive but no holes in the wall....
Everytime I sit down to write in here Piper starts crying so I am going to try and be quick... don't think I'll get any persies done though lol. Right now she is playing happily, we'll see how long that lasts. Well I finally got to take her to her 2 month check up today... mind you in the poring rain. Taking 3 kids under 4 out in the pouring rain is a mission I can tell you. At nearly 10 weeks she's 6kg and 58cm long so is going great guns according to the chn. In the top 90% for weight anyway my little piggy.
She hasn't her needles yet which I got a lecture from the chn but we have all had gastro followed by the flu and I refuse to get them done whilst she is sick. We are still having feeding problems but at the moment we are still persisting. We have a referral to an oral surgeon to assess whether she has a posterior tongue tie (LC thinks she does) and to see if we can get her lip tie snipped. Unfortunately the oral surgeon is a 10hr round trip away but if it saves some of the pain for my poor nipples I am all for it.
Piper is starting to interact more... cooing and smiling, she has the biggest smiles for her big brother. He gets most of them. Kind of feel put out about that. During the day she is feeding 1-2hrly... the tongue tie causes her to want to feed all day and its quite frustrating. At night she does about a 6hr block so that's all right, one night she even did 8 hrs. She is having a bottle of formula at night though. I get to the point where I can't stand to have her attached to my nipple anymore.
TUP - I take a breastfeeding and pregnancy blackmores gold multivitamin. Honestly I don't think it makes much difference. I have been sick almost continually since little miss was born, I am incredibly rund down and completely exhasuted which sucks but I don't think my vitamins are helping me there.
LAIRDOZ - My boys looked exactly alike when the were newborns... they look completely different now lol. One has blue eyes, one has brown. Little miss looked very similar to my middle child but she is starting to look different now. I swear none of them look like siblings lol
Sorry can't do any more persies... quite predictably little miss has started to fuss.
