Sarah, I'd be telling him you DON'T really like Alyssa....you might have more chance that way, LOL. Alyssa is a very pretty name![]()
Hey kitty have you had to stick to your gd diet this whole time? Is it s test to make sure it was only gd and the diabetes hasn't stuck around?
Wow DTD at 3 weeks, go girl!! Chloe is 2 weeks and I still feel too sore. I guess a week is a lot in c section recovery time, last week it hurt like hell to get out of bed, now I can do it pretty much normally.
Sarah, I'd be telling him you DON'T really like Alyssa....you might have more chance that way, LOL. Alyssa is a very pretty name![]()
Tams-i found that with s26 gold ella was to hungry so we put her on s26 original and so far she is feeding between 4-6 hours and very content but we do still have a wind issue and i am bot sure if it is to do with the cyst/bubble under her tongue maybe she is getting a good seal on the bottle and air is getting in.
We switched bottles and formula and are trying infants friend and bruers anti colic so i will give it a few days to see how she goes but while we are moving house i think she will be unsettled although she slept from 8 until 12:30 and then woke at 5 this morning so that was pretty good but she kept me awake with all the grunting and farting in her sleep she sounded so uncomfortable poor bubby.
She is not a screamer or much of a cryer just grissly when full of wind.
And i am also looking into other formula's to.
6 week checks i have never missed one and i religously have a pap smear every 2 years one of my good friends didnt have one for 4 years and has now lost her uterus ovaries and cervix and is having treatment for cancer in case it spread and her pap smear 4 years ago was all clear so it can flare up and progress quick in some people.
Breastfeeding-I was disapointed that Ella being my last baby that i couldnt even try because of her cyst i really wanted to experience that bond but i did what is best for her and i am fine with it i tried with my 3 boys so i know how it feels i just didnt get past the uncomfortable first weeks but i know my girl is happy and cherished so i have no guilt.
C section recovery time well i found the 1st week bloody awful had trouble getting up and down and going to the loo OMG! freaken painful but now i feel really good my belly is still tender to touch and a little swollen above the scar and my bleeding which had almost stopped has come back but very light.
I hate moving house i am waiting for the carpet cleaner to turn up then we have to go pick up the truck.
I bribed my son for some time on his laptop and DO DO internet thing for a humpty dumpty easter egg that i had brought myself lol kids.
well that just blows... had miss's 4 week check, was 2 questions off failing the pnd test thingo, she was going to pry with more questions, i ssaid im stressed about a mouse, she freaked and said it would upset her to...![]()
then put bub on scales.... she has only put on 100g in 9 days... lessthen half expected (based on adverage and her last gain of 350 in 10 days) i have to go back in 2 weeks but if i dont think the suppluys picked up, i have to go in one week. i knew it had dropped, but didnt think it had gone that lowthese cookies better work...
sorry total me post. be back tommorow to catch up, ds has his firtst school concert tonight, doin the lion sleeps tonight.
I think you should all be proud of your BFing achievements! In the beginning I was really upset and spent days crying about not being able to do it, but I had to make the decision whether I would keep trying or not before leaving hospital because I couldn't have the blood pressure meds I'd been prescribed if I was going to keep trying to BF. I knew that I had tried and that it wasn't working for me, it was so painful and I was getting more upset and H was so upset, and he'd already been FF from birth because of the diabetes so once I made the decision to FF exclusively I lost the guilt. I know my little boy is healthy, and TBH, I really love that DH can also have that feeding time. So, obviously I'm speaking only for myself here (although I really hope I'm speaking for our other FF mums!), but don't any of you worry about offending me by talking about your achievements! I think we should all be proud that we're doing our absolute best to take care of our bubbies.
Jaki H has been on NAN HA Gold since birth. He's not having any issues with it so I figured I'd just stay on it. On your MHN, just take what she says with a grain of salt. Thankfully mine hasn't made any comments on the FF, but she's a crazy old woman anyway so if she did I'd have trouble taking her seriously lol.
Kylz lol your "little piggy" is the same size mine was last week.. and yours is 3 weeks older :-P . On your MHN, see above lol.
Kitty good luck for your glucose test!
Mel I only saw your little girls name today when I read all of the births on Kylz's post. It's a beautiful name!
Aww Sarah FX the cookies work for you and she picks up some weight. Alyssa is a beautiful name! I kept bugging DH every time I saw him for the first week to agree to a middle name. I think he finally just caved to stop me nagging hahah
AFM Things are getting along here. I had my first outing with just H and I yesterday. It was just a trip to the supermarket, but wasn't that a new experience! lol. It's certainly not the quick 10min trip it used to be!
It's probably not the best timing considering I'm sick as a dog and the coughing is killing my stomach, but I decided to start on the cloth nappies today. The first one ended in a leaky bum (all over me hahaha), so I've tried another one done up differently and we'll see how that works.
How often you are all bathing your little ones? We're doing once a week at the moment, with a washer on the face and bum in between. Also, in a few of your facebook photos I noticed a bath bed type thing. For those who have them, can I ask where you bought them and how you've found them? My carpal tunnel is ridiculously painful at the moment so bathing him myself is impossible, and it's annoying having to wait for Matt.
Ack... little grumble bum has just woken up for a feed. BBL!
Sarah alyssa is beautiful. It was on my shortlist too!
Ali I got mine from Target for $12. it just looks like a white cloth nappy on a frame. i Put it in the normal bath. We shower with J every night as part of his routine.
Sarah - Mouse?
AFM - Just plodding along trying to work out why the world is so cruel.
Ali I got mine at a baby shop. About $17. You can get mesh ones, terri towel ones or hard plastic ones. W absolutely loves it. And it leaves me hands free
We bath him in his bath centre every 2nd night. And if he gets messy at nappy free time I take him in the shower with me on the alternate night. I've also had a bath with him in the big bath which was just lovely. So relaxing.
Sarah did you sort out your bathing issues?
We don't have a bath in our house. I don't know what I'm going to do when he gets bigger!
Laundry sink works well
Or once he holds his head up sitting in a bath chair in the shower could be ok.
Ali: I bought an elmo bath from target that came with the thing for him to lie on, it think all together it cost $30. I just stick that inside the bathtub. And now I feel like I wash him too much LOL Chase gets a bath every morningGood on you for the cloth nappies usage. I used them for 3 days and he got a rash on his butt from the bamboo nappy liners so I have to rethink on the type of nappy liners I'm using. He looked so cute in the cloth nappy though, I got so many photos

Sarah: hope your little miss puts on a bit more weight for you. those cookies sound good im gonna look into them. I wish I could just buy them from someone cos im super lazy LOL but i may as well bake them and the cake i promised DH at the same time
louise: as soon as Chase was out I was into the junk food and chocolate LOL Test was fine today, now I just gotta wait for the results. yeah its just to make sure I don't have diabetes for real. Yeah we were both keen to DTD after sooooo long without it![]()
My boobs have deflated again...he can't be going through another growth spurt could he? I think its all because he slept from 7pm to 4am this morning and when he woke up he practically ate my boob off, it hasn't recovered since this morning LOL. and now the other one is deflating as well...grrr...
He took two hours to get to sleep just now....it is so gonna be one of those nights.
Those of you who use sleeping bags... Do you still use a blankie ontop? I have trouble telling if he is cold or not when I chop and change all nite.
Also where do you get those funny worm looking ones their arms fold up in? Or what brand cause I'll need to get one online.
Cool, I'll google![]()
I was wondering about those wraps too, i need something for over easter as we are going away camping and i am not sure what to dress her in and want to have loads of options...
Kitty - re your boobs deflating, they will not stay the massive 'melons' that they are when the milk comes in, they settle down and 'deflate' over the next few months, they will not have that hard full feeling anymore - but there is still heaps of milk in there, your just not swollen as all your breast tissue is not so inflamed if that makes sense.
Re baths - we use a Tummy tub on days that DH is not in the bath with MJ, on those days (usually twice a week) DH takes her in the bath, the rest of the week i use the tummy tub - its fairly expensive but is meant to help with colic and wind as it mimics the uterus shape (really it is a glorified bucket with no nasty chemicals in it) - but it is easier to use when there is a little more head control...
Sarah - i was wondering the same thing ... Mouse?... i also love the name Alyssa - its beautiful... Also have you tried Activite? its like milo, you have it as a hot drink and involves no cooking, unlike the cookies! Sorry that you are feeling low, are you getting enough sleep? Are you eating OK? i remember reading somewhere that you wrote that you are not eating enough or forgetting to eat - make sure that you are taking care of yourself hun xx
Humm had loads more to write, but have forgotten it all now...
Can you all do me a favour... push your belly button, does it hurt? I dont remember this with MJ and i am quite sore and tender even to the lightest touch... Anyone else???
AFM - had a bad night last night, Aurora wouldnt settle after she woke for a feed at 3am - i got back to sleep at 5 i think and she was up again at 7am (typically MJ slept until 8am which is almost unheard of for her) so i am feeing kinda off at the moment...
Cant believe two weeks have gone already!
Have a great day everyone
Kylz, we have a mouse, or 2, not sure, it was coming and going, a few nights ago i was sitting on the couch and saw it ontop of the air con, watching medf taped up the holes we found and i havent seen it since.. fx its gone! they mowed the park behind us for the first time since we lived here (september) so i think it came from there, filthy thing, i get paniky when krystal gets tired (she only sleeps on the floor during the day for some reason) just knowing it could have been there, agh!
Jaki, nope she still hates the bath, its like shes being tortured i swear! even just water, no bath products.
MsKara, i gave all mine showers from arround 4-5 months in one of the baby seats, they loved it, my 1yo now has a shower radar, the minute its on, she is stripped of and either in, or bannging down the door!
Kitti, dont know if its coincidence or not, but i cooked the cookies last night (got the recipie off here) and for the first time this weel, my boobs were full when i got up thismorning! i had to wake her to feed her just now befor i cut them off they hurt! i was eating the dogh aswell, it said it makes 6 dosen, so make sure you have a HUGE mixing bowl!
Sammie, i tried activite, and realy dont like it! but i love baking, so gives me a good excuse, and df helped cook them lastnight, i was shocked! my belly was realy sore, felt like i had been winded every time i was touched there, even bub moving near me and bumping, dosent hurt now, but it did for 2 weeks i think?
to everyone else my minds just gone blank.... oh well!
oh, we 'spoke' about names last again night..... he did say alyssa a few times (yay) but then said he thinks it sounds to much like melisa (his sister) i dont think it dose, but then i just had a thought.... dosent matter if it dose, if it wernt for her, we wouldnt even know each other! see what he sais to that one..![]()
That wrap me up looks awesome! Thinks me has to order one. H loves his hands out, but he sleeps so much better when he's all wrapped up and he doesn't seem to shock himself awake so much
I'll have to head in to the shopping centre tomorrow to have a look at the bath beds as well.
Sammie sorry hun, my belly button feels fine! It's below there I'm having pain, but that's from all the strain to my c-section because of the coughing.
Anyone else feel completely overwhelmed about heading out with bubs? I'm not sure why, but I really have to push myself to go out now that it's just the 2 of us. It took me until I had no other option (ie I was down to my last mat pad!) before I went out yesterday. I don't even know what I'm afraid of :-(
ali i kind of feel the same - haven't been out with just bub and I yet, but dh goes back to work tomorrow so my time is nearing lol. i just find whenever we go out chloe poohs, needs to be fed etc...and i'm not confident feeding in public so we have to go to the parents room and dh and ella sit outside! not very exciting for a 3 year old. but i have just been approved for respite and dd goes to kindy once a week, so may get some trips out with just me and bub. will let you know how we go lol. it is a bit overwhelming at first, but after a while you wont remember what it's like going out on your own. and having a small handbag. and just deciding to go somewhere and head out without the hour lead up of pack bag, change bum, feed etc lol.....
sam - by belly button did hurt when i pushed it initially, but ok now, just a bit tender on my c section scar when i press
sarah - eeek we had a mouse here too, i am paranoid and have mouse traps hidden everywhere as a just in case, and we got one last week! i also hate the thought of a mouse being anywhere near the floor where kids are laying, playing etc...
kitty - hope your results are all clear
jaki - we have a snug as a bub or something like that, also am getting a woombie, waiting for it to arrive. they all seem pretty similiar to menot sure on the sleeping bag as dd2 hasn't used one, but with dd1 i never did...but the reason i got the sleeping bag was because she wouldn't keep a blanket on! lol
