Ali: I am kind of the opposite, I am shocking as I really started to lose it from staying home for those two weeks. I am now trying to get out every second day.. Truth is how awesome is the pram parking?
Sammie, wish you lived out this way.. I love camping! I need to find more people to camp with! Glad to hear your well. Love the name Aurora, went to school with a girl with that name. : )
Kitty, sounds like your doing so well. Whoo hoo to the long sleep from Mr. C!
Jaki, the wrap me up is awesome. I can tell the difference in K. He sleeps more soundly, as he loves to move his little arms. * It almost looks like he is trying to box with those cute little mittens on!
Ferrals: Sounds like Ella is doing well. Hope the moving is going good. I just switched to Karicare gold last night when doing up my batch of bottles. Mr. K had a feed at 7 and slept until 2:30. I have yet to notice a difference in the gas situation as of yet but the formula smells better and Mr. K seems to be fuller for longer. Will let you know.
Mel: Btw thanks for the offer to chat if needed. : ) Hope you eventually move back down to Qld. Would be lovely to have you in our group!
Kylz: when are we planning next meet up?
Sarah: I like Alyssa too. If Mr K was a girl she was going to be Corralee or Asha and middle names were Eve Josephine. I hope you find something to agree on soon. What do you guys call her in the meantime. My gf took 6 weeks to name her soon and he was still called his nickname until now...*He is 12 now! lol.
Maz, hope everything is okay seen your status yesterday. Thinking of you. Hope all is okay. Hugs. xx
Hope!: How you coping? I think of you often. Do you have much help darlin? xx
Iona: Thinking of you too. How is luke going with the baby? Hope your well. Hopefully a meet up will be soon! xx
Kate: Hope Mr. H is well and you too! xx
Jenna: Hope your well. Did you end up finding out if Miss E has colic? How is Mr. J going with her? xx
Sammie, btw did the belly button thing but no pain. I did for the first week.. My uterus?
Afm: All is well. Just changed formula and hoping that will make a difference. For all you bf moms! So proud. You keep going girls and even though I am ff I am happy to hear of your achievements! So share away! xx
ali: I go to the shops nearly every day I just love pushing him around and most times he gets a good sleep as well because of pushing him in the pram. It was overwhelming to begin with but the more I do it like louise said the easier it is getting to know what to bring and how quickly I can get us out of the house and then back again. To avoid feeding while out (cos sometimes it just a hassle) I go to the shops just after ive fed him. Then i feel better and know I've got at least two hours to buy all the crap I need and be home in time for his next feed.
sammie: that does make sense thanks, im such a worrier, I thnk I get it from my mum. Its just sometimes i can feel the milk in there and other times they just feel floppy so then I wonder if he is getting any milk. Then i stress myself out LOL its a vicious cycle. Where can you buy the activite from? Sounds like something a lazy person like me could try. No pain in my belly button I dont think..just had a fiddle and nothing.
sarah: eek mice! when we first moved in here we had mice so we set out traps where you don't see the mouse once its inside the trap but it snaps shut so you know one is in there. I had to make my DH touch them, I wouldn't go near them. Though on a weirder note we did own pet mice for a period of time last year Sounds like those cookies might work after all; I'll have to buy all the ingrediants first, could you get all the stuff you need from like woolies? or do I have to visit a health food store as well for that brewers yeast crap etc?
jaki: i just bought a sleeping bag thingy from best and less but I have yet to use it. Chase just sleeps in a jumpsuit with a blanket right now. I can't wrap him up becuase he won't sleep without his arms beside his head like they are in alot of my fb photos. when i do use the sleeping bag thingy my plan was to put him in short sleeved jumpsuit thingy inside the bag and then no blanket. Or just a singlet and nappy inside the jumpsuit and see how he went in that.
Kylz: how is J going??? giving you a little break?
louise: thanks I think the dr sends out a letter telling me to come back in if something is wrong so hopefully i get nothing in the mail from them.
And I'm proud to announce for the 3rd time in a row chase slept pretty much through the night Asleep by 10.30pm awake at 6.30am, can I get a hell yeah? LOL. Its so good not waking up every 3 hours during the night.
Can I join? I was in the April 16-30th BB group but my princess arrived a little early on the 30th March. She is now 9days old and everything is going fabulous. She is fully breastfeeding like a champ, having a few small issues with trying to keep mastitis away (I have a long history with it from last time) and over supply, engorgment etc. She is also pooping so much I have to keep the zinc up to her bum as it gets so red so quickly. We are getting plenty of sleep so I feel great.
I haven't read all the posts but hope its ok to come hang out in here with you all.
Brissie girls, i'm easy for a catch up to meet all our lil bundles
AFM - not much to report here, Jack is doing well and his sleeping is getting better. One thing tho is I so can't wait to be able to go for a brazilian - after seeing my vajayjay after sooo many months (mind you it's been 7 weeks since my last brazilian) it is in desperate need lol
Heya kylz, doing ok. Still screaming for hours each night. Infants friend crap too, did it take a while to make a difference in j or straight away? Hope all is good with you.x
I'm keen for a catch up anytime. I will get mum to watch ella so I only have to manage with the screamer and me lol. DH won't let me drive for at least another week though
Kylz I am actually in NSW I just haven't worked out how to change my thing.
Ellasmummy I am happy for you to send me some of your bubs screams to me. DD is too quiet for my liking. She is so sleepy still. Maybe because she was a little early perhaps. I wish she was a little more verbal. I gues when she is I wont be saying that. The midwife comes on Monday so hopefully she is fattening up despite been so sleepy.
Woohoo jak!!!! So happy for you and wyatt they will prob be a bit sore for a few days but will toughen up
OMG Mildez you are more than welcome to some noise lol. She was pretty quiet til about 8 days old then turned. Touch wood we are ok tonight, have gone back to infacol and,its helping her heaps this time. Or maybe its just a good night who bloody knows.
Good work jak. I tried to take it off and still nothing
I'm all for infants friend too. Found today didn't give to him and ge been bit grizzly again.
Jayden had his needles today. Was such a good bubba. Glad jus was with me though. No tears from me and Jayden only friend for like 1 min. Even got a bravery certificate that I posted on FB.
My check up went well lol asked me how I was told her all good. Git script for pill and told to come back for pap 2 weeks after af is back lol all too easy Hehe
Omg thanks to a lovely bb lady I now have in my possession a ergo sport carrier to try to see if I want one. Jayden loved it and so did I. Sunday will be the test. Sorry I didnt get there Tams didn't realise I be so long where I was.
Mildez - Heya, nice to see you in here Hehe, love the fact that our DD's share the same birthday lol Oh, and Elise is only really verbal when she has bad gas and the colic is playing up and she has a dirty or very wet nappy.
LMP - She does have colic, though it's not too bad, thankfully. Only had to give her the infants friend in the morning yesterday, but today I've been having to give it to her before each feed because it's been playing up again.
DS is loving her to bits lol, always coming over and giving her cuddles and trying to share his toys lol. Yesterday she spat her dummy out and DS climbed up on the arm of the recliner and reached into the Bassinet and put her dummy back in her mouth was cute, but not a good idea for him to clim up on the arms of chairs, which I'll explain below.
Sarah - I'm the same when we have mice in the house, and worse when there are spiders! We've had heaps of huntsman's and white tails coming into our house in the past month, and each time I get all stressed out thinking that one is going to end up in the bed and will bite me! Hope that mouse is gone for good.
Oh and I've started forgetting to eat too, so you're not alone there, half the time I don't even get the chance to have breakfast, and then I forget to eat lunch, and I can't be bothered cooking dinner so half the time I don't eat that either or just have a few mouthfuls of DS's dinner, though I do snack a lot throughout the day... crap food mostly lol.
And I love the name Alyssa too And don't worry too much about how much or how little weight she puts on, as long as she keeps on putting on weight that is all that matters, or at least that is what my MCHN told me with DS. I think I got lucky with mine, I get to see her again for Elise as well.
Lou - The infant's friend worked immediately for Elise the first time we used it, but sometimes it takes a whole day to start working or we have to use the maximum dose (10 drops, which hubby found out the other night that 2 drops = 0.1ml in a small 1ml syringe, so we have to give her 0.5ml some days).
Ali - We give Elise a full bath every 4-5 days, and just use a warm damp facewasher and cotton balls to clean her up between bath's.
With DS we used to have him in the shower with us every now and then too. And laundry sinks are great, especially when they are able to sit up on their own.
I haven't even left the house with just me, Elise and DS... I always have someone with me because I don't trust DS to hold onto the side of the pram while we're walking down the street.
Jaki - I still put a blanket on top when we have Elise in the sleep-bag suits because it can get rather cold in our house, even with the heater on all night, we tried just wrapping her up in a wrap with her arms down, but she hates that and prefers to have her hands up around her face.
SJ - My belly button hurts when I push it... don't remember that with DS either, but then I was moe focused on the c-section pain back them lol, but hubby has a habit of sticking his finger in my belly button and saying "Preggy" a lot (it's a joke we've had ever since we first started dating, poking each other in the belly button and yelling out "Preggy!").
Hi to everyone else!
Hubby is driving up to Brighton on monday, so if any of you Melbourne ladies want to meet up somewhere for a coffee I'm all for it
afm - OMG, I just got 2 big gummy & bubbly sleepy smiles from Elise lol she's been blowing saliva bubbles in her sleep and is starting to stir, opened her eyes and just gave me the biggest smiles, love it love it love it.
DS split his scalp open this morning, scared the crap out of me and was bleeding for a while He climbed up on the arm of the recliner to see Elise in the Bassinet and when I told him to sit down he stepped backwards instead, tripped over the other arm of the recliner and hit the back of his head on the base of the loungeroom lamp. Wasn't bad enough to go to the hospital, but was enough to rattle me and give him a bad headache, and we only have nurofen in the house which I've heard isn't good to give to them if they've hit their heads, so he's been a grumpybum all day.
Then not even 2 hours later, he's back climbing up on the arm of the chair to look at Elise again, his feet slipped out from underneath him and he fell down between the Bassinet and the recliner and hit the back of his head again. Don't know what I'm going to do with him at the moment, he must have a death wish because he's always climbing up on things that he knows he will fall off.
Other than that Elise has slept for 8+ hours for 3 nights in a row now, gave her a feed at 10pm last night, then a dream feed at 12, and she didn't wake up until right on 8am this morning. Was realy nice to have a full night of undisturbed sleep but my BB's were rock hard and sore when I woke up lol managed to express 200mls from them though, which is a first as I've only been averaging 140mls total lately.
Had our first breastfeed without the shield this morning too, only lasted 5 minutes as it was a top up feed for her before I expressed, and she fell asleep, lost suction and then dribbled milk all over me lol was a great feeling, though when I tried to get her onto the other boob this afternoon she didn't want anything to do with it.
And I'm so sick of this cold we've all got, it's combined with a sinus infection for me and a throat and sinus infection for hubby, so I'm on antibiotics for that and the antibiotics going through my milk are giving Elise the runs, the poor thing. Can't wait to finish them and feel better so that Elise can feel better too.
Also went and go the application forms to put DS into childcare yesterday, so hopefully we can get him in for 2-3 full days a week, which will give me some quality time with Elise and allow me to get out of the house without having to have someone else come with me to push DS in the stroller, really think I need to get my Learners License now so that I can drive hubby's car down the street while hubby rides his motorbike to work.
Can't wait for the baby bonus to come through now, I should start receiving it around the end of the month since we got all the forms handed in on wednesday. I want to get one of those slings to put Elise in so that I can have DS in the pram and can go out alone with both of them. I also need to get a new chest of drawers for DS's room as one of the drawers in his is broken and the others are on their way out, and I want to be able to put all of Elise's clothes in there so that they don't take up an entire shelf in the wardrobe and to stop DS from pulling them all out from underneath the Bassinet.
And the lawnmower died the other day just before hubby had finished mowing the backyard, so we need to get that fixed, and we need a new whipper snipper as well, and a new freezer, and the hotwater service really should get serviced too because the pilot light keeps on going out when we leave the back door open on nice days... so many things that we need to do, and not enough money right now to do them.
Have a good night all, not sure when I'll get back online again, finding it hard to get time to hop on at the moment and when I do have time hubby is usually using the laptop so I don't get the chance to use it.
I am getting my first baby bonus payment Woohoo! Going straight to the credit card though-boring!
Kylz I'm going to be driving by next weekend if I don't go crazy first lol. Never realised how often I drove until I couldn't!
Then its school holidays so mum can have ella whenever
Hi guys! Posting from phone so hard to do persies.
Mildez - welcome!!!! Congrats
Jenna - glad your DS didn't hurt himself too bad!!! We've had quite a few couch incidents here....
Jak - why don't you get the baby bonus? I'm not sure when ours will come in, had to borrow 2 grand off my sister to pay my midwife - would rather pay her back in instalments than my midwife.
Everything just went out of my head what I was gonna say. Trying to feed in bed with DS and dd2 being stupid and jumping around. So not easy to type!
We don't get it because it's means tested. We also won't get any FTB or any of the immunisation payments.
I could go on and on about why it's not fair and why it really Ps me off but I won't subject you to my political ramblings.... as much as I'd love to
