See u lovelie brissie ladies later
Hi to everyone
Ugh I'm bleeding again, how annoying!
Lol :D
Hope - I can't help not respond to you about the BF/EBM/FF issue. You have done a fabulous job, expressing is hard enough let alone having twins. I know what you mean about people getting funny about EBM. I've had that too, but most people now respect it as I have been doing it for so long and when they hear about how much I've tried with BF. I also had similar comments about the nipple shield...it's not breast feeding (my thought is #$*& off ((sorry ladies)) the baby is on the breast ). I have different people in my family who comment on I should be moving to FF given the troubles and others that think I should persist with the breast. I can't get it right for everyone. I think few understand the EBM method. If you want to continue with EBM it can help to try and make things as efficient as you can with the type of pump, being able to double pump hands free and feed a baby a bottle at the same time...I picked this up from one LC and has made my life so much easier. I completely understand and would respect your decision to move onto FF. I might be there myself soon.
Kitty - I would be doing the naughty foods too. I did before my GDD test because I was convinced that I had it as I had a few symptoms of it.
AFM; seeing the osteo today..yay! On a funny note we had dinner with an in-law and her kids a couple of nights ago. I had DS at the breast and the 4yo said what is DS doing. I replied having a drink. The 4yo said 'well where is his drink bottle then'. As a first time mum was not sure what to say:ROFL:
DS is 6 weeks old today...happy week birthday bubba. I love him so much. Apparently things are supposed to be better after 6 weeks...well we will see.
Lisa - I hope things get better for you soon. Just try to remember that at the end of the day, you are the one that has to be the most happy - not random family members that aren't the parent and aren't going through what you are. Unless they are walking in your shoes, their opinion is probably just as useful as boobs on a bull.
Have fun at the meet up today brissie girls, I'm still hoping to get up there next year!! Have to look into changing real estate agents to get one that will actually sell our place!
We had a crap night here last night, S didn't settle in the early evening she was so restless. Then I fed her around 9.30 on both sides and she fell asleep, then by that time it was around 10.30, so we got into bed and she woke up every 2 hours after that. Then the 16 month old was awake and in our bed, as well as the 4 year old, DH went to put 4 year old back in bed, 16 months old starts crying cos daddy is leaving the room and she's going through some hell separation anxiety at the moment, so her cries wake the baby that I just got to sleep, then the 2.5 year old wakes up for some milk. Urgh. I just want at least 2 hours sleep in a row!!! Need coffee through an iv today I think....
Some days I wish I just had one child! This happens to be one of them...
Sorry you had a crap nite Mel. You could buy one of those beer hats with straws for your coffee :D
Lisa happy 6 weeks to your wee bundle! I'm hoping things get easier at 6 weeks too.
Afm- we had a somewhat better night last night! Infect compared to the previous two!!!
Oooh now that's an idea jak
Jaki & Lisa - I was using the shield, but she screams just as much with that as she does with just the boob, though we had a bit more success yesterday where she spent 2 mins sucking before deciding to start screaming.
Forgot what else I was going to say yet again :(
afm - Elise put on 235g in the past week YAY! hehe, think the extra FF is what did it this week lol, have discovered that she's less unsettled after a FF fist thing in te morning and is more likely to sleep through with a FF last thing at night, which makes for a happy mummy and daddy, just need to get DS over his cold now and convince him start sleeping through again.
Internet went down on monday night, finally got it fixed last night and then had to spend the evening cleaning up the entire house as we had an evaluater come around this morning to see what the house is worth. Now to wait a few days to find out what he thinks it's worth.
Will be back later, feeding time at the zoo once again.
hi ladies.
Mel, i know exactly how you feel, i was contemplating taking fil up on the boys living with him the other day, they are driving me mad, constantly waking both the girls up when i finaly get them to sleep.
i feel realy confident i can take this whole BF thing past 3 months, for the first time EVER i actualy expressed some out!! only problem i had was keeping a seal around the pump, boobs are a bit on the small side. but 50 mls im so proud! pluss ive been forcing myself to eat at least twice a day instead of just dinner.
i had a freak out lastnight, A was feeding and milk started coming out her nose! i was to scared to go to bed incase something was wrong. when i finaly went to bed, she woke wasnt hungry but just lied there fussing for 2 hrs, have to try get her sleeping in her own bed at least half the night.
5.5yo and almost 4yo,free to good home, any takers??
Reading but have very crook son and step daughter here so havnt had a chance to post.
Well we are now up to formula number 8 the karicare lactose free was better than the others bub Ella is still moaning and groaning in her sleep and seems very uncomfortable and restless while sleeping and we have had a few episodes of arching her back and screaming with a couple of feeds so she is still getting pretty bad wind.
The chemist said try Novalac colic formula and Marina infant mixture which is a natural peppermint flavoured mixture that helps lower abdominal discomfort and colic babies so here we go again so far she is burping like a trooper and falling asleep by herself and sleeping a good 4-5 hours now if only we can get the moaning and groaning and uncomfortable sleep under control we will have a very content baby.
Hope- I felt like crap that i couldnt even give Ella one breast feed so she didnt even get the first antibodies (i BF the boys for at least a week) i still feel a little sad about it but it just wasnt ment to be because of her cyst under her tongue.
You should feel proud for what you have acheived.
Have to go the princess is awake.
