Mildez did you know the bubblebubs candies are on sale ATM? $20 :)
Jak - sounds great, enjoy your trip :)
Mildez - the funkybots are $10 each
Tams - what works for some may not work for you, it's totally in the cut of the nappy and tge shape of your baby, A is in nappys that MJ leaked out of. So I agree with Jaki, try one or two of a few brands first, if u know anyone with a big stash, see if you can borrow some. I can send you a couple of BBH bamboos OSFA to try if you like, but they probably will be too big and bulky at the moment - let me know :)

Thanks fo the tips guys. getting him to sleep on me isn't a problem, the little bugger falls asleep while I'm patting his back after a feed trying to burp him like he did yesterday. Its putting him down in the bassinet and then trying to get away thats th prpblem. It takes us minimum 2 times, I'll put him down and 10 mins later he will be awake, so I have to do it all over again which is the part that takes up time. When we put him down after getting him asleep on us we do pat his bum/back and he is all quiet but it doesn't last, I have to wait until he is completely knocked out. Maybe I should just pat him for longer...cloth nI'm thinking I might try the music thing, he does like music I think, we listen to Glee alot during the day hahaha
cloth nappies: I have a couple of minkybots newborn size and even though I only used them for I think 5 days max they didn't leak at all. They are super cute too :) I really have to try using the cloth nappies again. The other ones I've got are hippybottomus again no leaking but I don't think I've used them long enough to really guage that. And ones I haven't used are ones i got given at my babyshower called smart nappies.
argh supposed to be getting ready for the dr, diabetes or not diabetes hmmmm
sammie: that funkybots website is awesome, they are so cheap! just waiting for a couple more PPL payments before I go all crazy :) plus i actually have to start using cloth to see if I can keep doing it lol
kitty - good luck at the drs. another thing u can try is rubbing ur scent on a blankie and put in the bassinet/cot may help him think that he is still with u
jaki - have a great trip and hope the weather stays good
hi to everyone else
GL kitty!
Yaay on smiles jak, and sleeping - double whammy!!
Hope your outing goes well Mel.
Would you believe Chloe slept 6 pm til 7am, only waking for 2 quick feeds?!? Miracle!
Have my trial clothies ready to go! Just went to the chiro, so waiting for the next huge poo that chiro always induces lol. Then starting.
Lou: that sleep sounds awesome!! I had a 1030pm to 6am sleep :)
jaki: I forgot to say congrats on getting the big smiles from W :)
I don't have diabetes!!! Dr called me back because of my pap smear results which I guess is scarier than diabetes. But anyway, she said I have a possible first grade lesion (how do you spell that?) in my cervix. It means i have to have pap smears every year now to keep an eye on it. I asked what it means and she was like it could lead to stage 1, then stage 2 then stage 3 then cervical cancer. so im glad i dont have diabetes but just gottakeep an eye on this cervix thing :)
woohoo on not having diabetes kitty but boo on getting yearly pap smears - hopefully it doesn't progress into anything more
Kitty yeah for not having diabetes. My 6week pap showed cell changes after my last baby. I had to have it repeated after 3months (it was normal then) The Gyno told me it was most likely caused from the hormones of pregnancy and the most common time to see it is after having a baby. I've never had an abnormal one or any changes since then (it was 4yrs ago) I now have them yearly but my Gyno insists its not neccessary although I insist he do it. Not nice but cervical cancer is usually preventable so its a small price to pay.
Hi ladies,
Kitty - yay on no diabetes! sorry to hear about the yearly paps, but better to be safe.
Cloth nappies - we are using mostly bamboo prefolds and covers and find the absorbency is great. We just upgraded and bought the medium size as DS is a big bubba. We also bought a couple of bumgenius AIO, a BBH magical AIO & itti bitti. I like the idea of the AIOs but have found the prefolds to be superior in containing leaks. All 3 brands we've tried of AIOs have leaked earlier than what I would have expected. DS also leaks through his disposables at night, so maybe DS is heavy wetter, I'm not sure as this is my first bub so I don't have any comparison. I might look up some of the brands that you girls have recommended. Going away over Easter and having to use disposables...but I love my cloth.
We had our osteo appointment yesterday. They said that due to my long labour (25 hours) that DS spine was a bit compressed and that he also had restricted jaw movement. These things might be impacting on his ability to attach properly on the breast. We have another appointment after Easter.
DS also had yet another heel ***** test this morning due to a slight hyperthyroid. It breaks my heart as he screams the place down.
Anyhow, DS is not settling well so must go. Have a lovely Easter everyone.
Lisa what brand sposies are leaking at night? Wyatt can wear a huggies from 8-3 and it's fine, then leak out of a babylove within 2 hrs!
How much ebm would a 5week old need per feed?
Cause Wyatt loves the car and sleeps so much I've been expressing along the way so my boobs don't explode.
First stop he drank the 80mls i had and went back to sleep.
Second stop he drank 110mls and still wanted a full boob!
I asked the CHN about that when I was expressing and they said to go off the back of the formula tin and to keep in mind some babies will want more and some will want less. On the formula I've got it says about 120ml so Wyatt may just be one of the hungry babies :)
C went to sleep earlier than usual, he went down at like 8pm instead of the usual 10pm. I want to go to sleep but I keep thinking he is about to wake up any second because he went to bed so early. Catch 22 you suck ass.
Coolio thanx luv.
I learned after one early night for W to just go to bed otherwise you may end up waiting all night!
Well we are almost at the end of this trip, almost 16hrs in the car, feels like only a few! That's the one bonus to living in the 'bush' you get use to car trips feeling like quick drive up the road :D
Wyatt has not shed one tear god bless him! No tanties or anything! Just a tiny grizzle at gympie. He has had 3 feeds, I gave up on the pump after our 2nd stop cause I dropped it on the ground.
God I love my boy!
Oh wow Jaki, u guys did well and good on Wyatt for being so good.
Kitty - I'm the same as jaki, if jack is in bed early so am I
Afm - jack had had a sore belly the last couple of hrs. When he wakes he does a fart n then his legs go 10miles an hr an he starts screaming - the poor thing, no matter how much I try to watch what I'm eating there is always something that gives him a sore belly and then the only thing that really settles him is comfort sucking

Gosh! You girls talk a lot! :D
I have got to get me some if these bargain nappies! I need more coz I have wash so often ( I have more mediums than smalls). BBH bamboo osfa are huge on E. She wears them, but only at home.
I did have something else to say, but I forgot, im on my phone and E is fussing.
Bbl !(oh, still no new avi :()
I have been so sick with gastro OMG! i have never been sick with a newborn not fun.
I hope Ella doesnt get it.
Ella is 5 weeks today where does the time go?
Jaki-I do wrap ella she sleeps better when wrapped.
Mildez-i am waiting until 6 weeks before i start trying to lose my extra 4kg i tried on my size 10 clothes and they fit but i cant do the pants up yet and they look like they are painted on my size 12 is a little loose but more comfortable.
I made myself a promise to be back to 60kg by the 22nd of May because DH and i are going to my work to watch the david strassman show chuckies revenge so i want to look good when i see all my work mates.
Ella self settles when she is in her bed she will cry a little off and on then you can here her sucking her dummy and she goes off to sleep when she is over tired she will take longer and i need to pop the dummy in a few times and maybe change her position but i wont pick her up at night unless she is due for a feed or really upset and it is working a treat she loves her bed and goes to sleep easier and seems to know her bed is sleep time she hates being rocked or held to go to sleep which is great.
She has her bottle about 3am i put her back to bed and you can hear her gurgling and gooing and then after a few minutes she will whinge so i put her dummy back in and she goes off to sleep.
I found the perfect formula NOVALAC COLIC ella is feeding without the arching back and crying everytime a wind pain hits so i am sticking to it she has a bottle every 4-5 hours during the day and has one at around 10pm then 3am and then is up at 7am i hope this is it and we have no more wind pain.
OH! and marina's infant mixture for colic and abdominal pain THANK YOU to whomever discovered you.
Anyway i know my post is just an Ella post i have read everyones post's and am up to date with how you are all going seems we are all in the same boat working out our little ones cry's and routines and likes and dislikes and we are all busy so i hope you dont mind that i havent responded to everyone.
Enjoy your weekend ladies and Happy Easter.
PS-Humpty dumpty red tuplip easter eggs are only $3 at K Mart they are normally $6.50 so i brought 20 of them lol
Well done Weeman!!! What a good boy for all that time, I didn't realize you were driving for so long, that's awesome, makes our 3 hours look totally insignificant!
We are finally on the way, caravan packed early, but Miss A had a poo splosion and a projectile vomit and I had to do 2 full changes of clothes for her and one for me, then had to wait for the quick wash to finish so I didnt come back moldy clothes!
I'm a bit worried about A sleeping, SIDS and the cold, DH is sleeping with MJ up one end and me and A down the other... I'm putting her in the kindakot (which is like mini tent) on my double bed mattress, that way she is away from my blankets and also if tge canvas of tge caravan gets cold and damp she is protected from that too. Any suggestions any one???
Hope check in over tge weekend, but happy Easter to everyone, I hope you have a fabulous time what ever you are doing :)
