    Hey ladies,

Still no internet using son's DO DO thingy so have to be quick we have been told internet will be connected tuesday i actully had to ring today and go off my nut and cancel all my services with telstra before a manager rang me to say they have organised it all and fixed the problem.

Sarah-Yeh! on a name for your little girl.

Tams-i have tried S26 gold S26 SMA and all gave Ella pretty bad wind i was told the more casin the heavier the formula so harder to digest and more likely to get wind so we tried karicare and Ella brought that all up so next was Nan HA gold which is 100% percent whey No casin and she has settled down but seems to be hungry every 3-4 hours and because she is feeding so much gets overfull and uncomfortable so now we are trying normal Nan pro which is 70% whey and 30% casin so hopeing the whey helps settle the wind but the little bit of casin helps her go a bit longer between feeds hopefully 4-5 hours.
We have also received Ell'a birth certificate it only took 2 weeks.

Mildez-Yeh on making it to our march group i dont pop into out other thread very much just dont have time.
Ella has just started to smile it is so adorable.

Sorry for lack of persies i just dont have the internet time to go back through all the post's i have missed.

AFM-Ella is doing great other than trying to sort out which formula is gentler on her belly but the little fatty has put on 900 grams in 2 weeks she is now 9lb 6oz which is 4.25kgs she was born 2.9 kilos (2940 grams) so the 3 hourly feeds can easily go to 5 hourly without affecting her weight gain.
She is now 52cm long and her head cm is 35cm so she is still a little bundle my SIL baby was born bigger then her and she is 4 weeks old tomorrow.
We have worked out when she is tired and gets cranky she likes to be put to bed and left to fall asleep which is good no rocking or patting here.
She still hates her baths and her nappy off lol but is such a little sweety has the prettiest little face.
We have finally moved into our new house which is really nice way better then the other place but moving after major surgery with a 2 week old was really hard i got an abcess in my c section wound which was really painful it is looking really good now though and the scar is really good just a thin line and no overhang.

Jaki-Hi chick thanks for texting me reminded me of how much i have missed you all.

Anyway better go i will get back on when i can and hopefully my internet will be on next week.

    Good morning ladies.

I am over the moon at the moment, K slept from 7-2 and then woke promptly on schedule at 6! I want to pinch myself right now. I feel so much better with some sleep behind me!
Sorry but had to share with someone.

As for dh, he has been fabulous with K but I will also let K cry and I try not to tell him what to do. Think he got annoyed when I made a few suggestions, so now I just wait for him to ask.
He does get a bit flustered if K cries, which is rare but I told him he is just as much mine as his, so he best be figuring it out. LMAO. I am not taking one minute for granted though as not having family around is bloody hard, its only the two of us that looks at K with "that look" that family does. It has been a hard few weeks.. but we are getting there. : )

    Morning all.

Tams - yay for getting some sleep!

    Hi everyone else!

afm - I meant to do a whole heap of persies last night but can't remember what I was going to say now
So over expressing at the moment, I've been stretching it out to 4-5 hors between expressing as Elise usually sleeps for 4 hours or so when she does go down, but I'd much rather prefer to be BFeeding instead I can't even get her to latch on at the moment, all she does is scream and cry and get frustrated In fact that's all she seems to do lately when she's not sleeping, I really don't know what to do I don't know what's wrong or how to fix it or anything...
Going to ask the MCHN today as we're seeing her at 9am to get Elise weighed. Hopefully she can give us some idea's of what might be wrong because it's affecting hubby a lot and I'm starting to get down about it all

    Will be back later.

Hugs jenna, its so hard when they're screaming all the time and nothing consoles them
Does she have colic? Have you thought about taking her to chiro? I know its not for everyone but treatment from the chiro along with using infacol before each feed and stopping a couple of times for burps has returned chloe to an almost normal baby. Whatever that is lol.
LMP - so glad to hear k is sleeping so well my DH gets ****ty when I give 'constructive criticism' too hehe.
Jaki - she doesn't chomp, but when I stick my finger in the side of her mouth to break the seal, she sucks like its the last feed she'll ever get. So strong!! Ouch
    Hi everyone else!!
AFM have real estate inspection today. House is so not how I would normally leave it, hopefully they understand I have a disabled 3,year old s newborn baby and a hubby at work!

I am very excited and I really need to share.....My boys only woke once last night, I can't believe it. M feed at 8:30 and R at 9:30 than they both slept until 2:30 and than at 6:30 as normal. How awesome is that. I'm doubting very much that it will happen again tonight so I am lapping up this great achievement while i can. It's amazing what a little bit of sleep does for you.

JJ: GL at the MCHN, hopefully you can get some answers.

LMP: Congrats on K sleeping well last night. it feels great doesn't it!

Sarah: So are you paying the price for not sleeping. Sometimes you know you should be asleep but you are loving the bit of "Me" time - thats how i get occasionally anyway. I hope you get a more helpful medicare person to what i got.

Kitty: thankyou so much for all that you said in regards to my feeding delama (sp?). I don't know what exactly it is you said but it really touched me. Hopefully I figure it all out soon. I need to find a way that is easiest and best for both me and the boys. By the way, I understand exactly how you feel about DH at the moment. When DH is home of a weekend he is pretty much of no help to me. Sometimes I think he makes things harder. When one of them is crying he has absolutely no patients which ends up stressing me out. He wont change nappies and all he does is whinge at how tired HE is. I understand he works bloody hard through the week and he travels alot but I look forward to him coming home of a weekend in the hope that i might get 15 mins of timeout (which doesn't happen). He doesn't get up to them through the night and he actually manages to sleep through most of it and they are in our room. How hard would it be for him to get up and prepare a bottle while I change nappies. I have a huge milk stash in the fridge - it's not that hard. on top of that, he is on my case to be breastfeeding. lol, I think I just got carried away. I contemplated deleting all that but it actually feels good to get it off my chest, hope you don't mind. I probably just made it sound worse than it actually is. DH isn't that bad, he does help in other ways. When he is home, he prepares the meals which in itself is a great help and he will do a bit of washing for me. So he may not help much with the boys, but he does help out in other ways. I am so horrible!

hi to everyone else. Sorry i haven't done persies to you all. I think i got a bit carried away with me stuff!

Hope you are all finding a way to cope and managing lots of snuggle times with your bubs as well as all the other stuff.

Morning all! Been a bit MIA lately! Still trying to wrangle 2 kids!
Hamish doing very well was weighted and all that yesty - he had put on nearly a kilo since leaving hospital 2.5 weeks ago so that's great! He has also grown nearly 1cm already too! He is nearly 58cms!
Bella is slowly adjusting but has good days and bad. Sleep going ok can get 5 hrs bw feeds but last night he woke for bottle every 3 hrs! But DH did a few shifts so that was nice!
    Anyway feed time again!
    Hope your all well xo

just got back, Elise has put on 140g in the past week and now weighs 3.7kg, so glad she's finally over her birth weight.
She hasn't grown in length, but her head is now 35cm lol
Just glad that the booby juice is doing what it's supposed to.

Lou - she does have colic and we're giving her infant's friend for it which helps a lot, but she still screams a lot. Would take her to the chiro, but the waiting list down here is so long it drives me crazy. It's been 18months now since I went on the waiting list for my hip back an pelvis and I still can't get an appointment.

Will be back again later, feeding Elise and DS is trying to steal my breakfast and the EBM!

    Hey ladies,

Quick question, ordered Ks birth certificate. They would of received it by the latest March 30th and paid extra for priority service and still have not received it! Is this normal?
I got the regular one and the special one. I need Koltons asap so I can apply for his passport.

I haven't got Chloes yet and they would have received the paperwork by the 30th too. I have already got my first baby bonus payment so she must be registered, they must just take their time printing and sending them.
Jenna that totally sucks about the waiting list!!!

Tams - It took about 5 weeks for us to get DS's birth certificate, but that was over 2 years ago now. Australia Post has been shocking with delivering things on time in the last 9 months though, so it might just be something to do with Aus Post.

Just checked my bank account... I think I just got my first Baby Bonus payment they told me it would be about 21 days or so, and that was at the start of last week! feeling a bit overwhelmed right now, and can't remember if it's supposed to be fortnightly payments or weekly payments.

ellasmummy how much did your princess weight at birth? I'm sure the real estate will understand why the house isn't how it usually is.

Lactation cookies I made my first batch and they didn't taste fabulous. Cetainly good enough to eat as I ate all the ones I made (only 5) I think I will use a different butter as they didn't spread instead they looked more like rock cakes.

JJ sounds like we have been in a similar boat with expressing and unsettles bubs. What weight was Elise at birth?

Well I have been quiet as things went pear shaped a few days ago. Poor J was getting sleepier and sleepier and not draining the boob properly despite feeding for long periods. Hence the engorgement I had on Day10. Anyway that night my milk just vanished. I went from been hard as a rock to softer then playdoe. Then she lost weight (still not back to her birth weight) so the midwife came around (whom was hopeless) told me to bottle feed. So unimpressed. Anyway obviously with no milk I had to give some formula for a little while but we haven't given any in 24hrs now. So there is concern J has an undiagnosed cardiac condition which is why she is so sleepy and not feeding well because she tires so quickly with lack of oxygen especially with exertion. Which has lead to her not draining the boob. So now I am expressing and bottlefeeding EBM so she doesn't have to work as hard with a squeezy bottle so she doesn't have to work very hard to get it. I offer the boob first just so she remembers she is suppose to be a booby girl, then bottle feed her then she goes back on the boob for comfort. On top of this she has had very runny poo (like 15dirty nappies a day) and her wet nappies were minimal. Then she vomits alot. The formula helped clog her up a fraction (only 7 dirty since 3pm yesterday which is excellent compair to before) It seems like what ever she gets orally only comes straight back out one of the ends. She is weighed again tomorrow and if she isn't up in weight she will be admitted to paeds for investigations. She put on 40grams in a week. We are aiming for a very minimum of 50grams in 48hrs and that still doesn't get her to her birth weight. This is going to be a very long process and the expressing isn't going well. Where I live the only breast pumps are the avent hand one or tommee tippee which I have in the hand which sucks. Or should I say doesn't suck. I only get 50mls out at a time. Which I must say is better then I was getting 2days ago. I've half excepted it now but for a few days I have been such a mess. I BF my others for the 2yr mark and now J isn't thriving. My milk supply is also dismal with her not getting much and expressing just doesn't cut it with my crap tommee tippee hand one. No wonder I can't get much out. I was getting 250mls with my first baby so a measley 50mls is very disheartening. Oh well its up on the 15mls I was getting to start with. I'm on motilium and drinking as much as a racehorse, trying to do all the right things for milk production (including over induldging in the lactation cookies) I will be a complete mess is J's weight isn't up tomorrow. I want to weigh her now to see if we are heading in the right direction but that means going to work and having to answer a million questions when I don't want to. Arrr everything was going so great initially. My Poor baby.

Anyway thats why I haven't been around for a few days.

Thanks WMM. I'm still a bit surprised things came crashing down in an instant. Anyway hopefully at weight time tomorrow all is heading back uphill again. I have my eye on a few electric ones on ebay. The one I want doesn't come up for 3days but. If I can't get one soon from ebay I'll have to buy one from ABA. I was hoping not to pay $600+ for the one I want hence why I'd prefer an ebay one.

Is anyones babies doing real smiles yet? J has the prettiest smile but obviously its wind when she is sleeping. Ans she laughs in her sleep. Funniest sound ever lol. I can't wait til I get some real smiles. By memory my eldest 2 were about the 4week mark.

JJ that was quick with the baby bonus. I haven't applied yet. They don't back pay you from birth do they? I hope not. I had to take J to the Dr yesterday and I didn't have a medicare number for her yet so it cost me an arm and a leg. We haven't sent her birth certificate of yet either. Talk about taking our time.

Hope that is awesome your boys slept so well overnight. Hope they continue doing that for you. Clever little men.

Aw Mildez, I feel your pain. reading your post reminds me of when I expressed. Just a heads up. I was going to join ABA and found that their prices for rentals and even prices for the pumps was more expensive then I could get elsewhere. I was very surprised so just thought I would mention it. Good luck. xx
