Hmmmm, I am umming and ahhhing about putting Bailey in his cot in his room tonight, I think he'll be fine, if it was up to me he'd sleep in our room until he left home LMAO So its more can Mum deal with it (and will I actually sleep better or will I be up checking constantly LOL)
Had a great day today - Bailey was smiling and giggling all day long and he put quite a show on for Daddy when he got home it was so precious as he was so excited to see Daddy that he was giggling and squealing, Daddy was so touched he got a bit teary - what a lovely welcome home!!
BG - the baptism gown is simply devine!! The detail is amazing, she is going to look stunning on baptism day
...........ok just fed Bailey and put him down in his cot, so far so good! But was walking through the house and caught my reflection in one of the windows and realised that after his BF I hadn't pulled my top back over my bra - LOL DH didn't notice either, I swear one day after BF I will just forget to 'put myself back together' and leave the house :ROFL:
Bailey seems to have developed quite an awareness of his hands - eg that they are his and he is in control of them, but he shakes his hands/arms heaps now, is that normal? - eg I thought he was shaking with cold the other day - actually more of a shudder than a shake actually, its weird. I might post in the baby forum

Hi everyone!
How are we all.
I have been neglecting things in here haven't I!!??!! I've been super busy. Just started DS with swimming lessons, which his first one he HATED, but mean old mum is making him go back for more after the holidays.
Allira is still doing so so well. We had our worst night lst night where she woke twice between 10 and 6 and was awake or grizzly for about 3 hours. We didn't have to get out of bed at all, she only had the one feed, and we'd share her between us while we each got a bit of sleep... pretty fricking good really. haha. If that's the worst night we'll ever get, then I will be thrilled.
She's pooping like a champion now. LOL Every couple of nappy changes she'll have a mega explosion.
It's funny how much more aware of her surroundings she is now. It's great. We caught a smile on Hubby's camera a couple of nights ago which was great, as she's only really started smiling whilst awake during the last week. She has been smiling in her dreams since she was born.
Have her 8 week check up next Wednesday 8th. I cannot beleive how quickly THAT's gone! It's mad. The my big boy is 2 on July 28!!! Now THAT has gone SUPER fast! I still remember being on here and pregnant with him. I remember the day I got my BFP with him... everything. Treasure every waking moment girls, because it just goes by so fast!
Had my exercise classes again tonight. Hoping that will knock a few more kg's off my more than ample frame, but in no hurry. I'm just loving being able to get back into exercise, and I can't wait to start netball again!!
BG - I hope you don't mind, I had a squizz at your pics of Emerald, and she's just stunning. Congrats again.
JwithJ - Yay for the sleep!!! That's fantastic news and would make things so much easier for you!
Bridg - Bugger about missing your appointment! I don't know how you go with 3 kiddies... I find it hard enough with my 2!! Well done on going out on your own! I would do my 2 on my own... but because of the travel I have to do, I think it would be best I wait a few more months.
Amy - Sending you a million sleep vibes!!! I hope you get a half reasonable sleep tonight.
Vic - glad to hear you had a great birthday! The grunting is funny isn't it... I never know exactly what Allia wants.. I just guess. SHe'll grunt at me if I am wrong. I am lucky thaqt she really doesn't make alot of noise unless she is hungry or has a pain or a dirty nappy. She's such a quiet content little soul... I wish her brother would take a few cues from her!
Naomi - yay for the pro pics! I can't wait to see them! I'm forever stealing a look at everyone's pics on FB... your babies are just so gorgeous!!! Must be a May baby thing ;)

BG: Em is so cute! Love that FP outfit - bummer its too small already. Sweet that she knows her daddy. I'm jealous of all these smiles you guys are getting. Phoebe's are all wind-related or reflexive or something - she hasn't smiled at me yet.
Bridg: Hope the new teats do the trick. Woohoo for you, getting out with all three little-ies! I have only been to the shops with both mine without DH once. Was nerve-racking, but we managed. I think you're amazing managing with three :)
Naomi: LOL @ you not remembering to put yourself together again! In the first week DH used to laugh his butt off at me cause I'd walk around in BF singlets with my nipples sticking out after a feed so they'd dry, LOL. He said it was a great look... but don't get too close to the windows and give the neighbours an exhibition.
Could the arm flailing be a tired sign? Otherwise it could just be him experimenting with them to see what they do... Not sure sorry. But Phoebe is all flappy when she's tired.
Nicky: Eek, I am jealous of you too. Almost 8 weeks and you've only had one crap night?!?! Great about your excersise classes - what an awesome idea. What do you have planned for DS' birthday?
We went in to work today & Phoebs had cuddles with the boys. She had a big day. I'm hoping she'll sleep better for it and not worse... We'll see what tonight brings. Last night was a shocker. Ah, one day I'll sleep again :rolleyes:

Yes, Bailey does it as well and sometimes I am confused as to whether its a feed call (especially during the middle of the night when I am half asleep), but usually the feed grunt is accompanied by hand flailing LOL

Amy - nah, he's an arm flailer when hungry (or annoyed) but this is more of a shake/shudder, just a different type of moment than I've noticed before. Maybe its when he's all excited? LOL I dunno

yay on the big sleep Amy - i'd be going nuts if E was sleeping like that every night! she's such a gem of a kid - no full wake up last night from about 11 til after 8! she had a dream feed about 4 cos i heard her stirring - but nothing else. was fantastic! it seems to be that, once we get her to sleep at night (which can be difficult - she believes in cat napping - can't miss any action!) - she will sleep for 5 or 6 hours - am hoping she sticks to it!

Yay for sleep. We had an 11-8 sleep aswell.... no feeding or anything.
Allira made a few little noises, but everytime I went to get up and feed her... she'd have dozed back off. Love it, although the boobies were darn full this morning! She had a huge feed when she woke, and is out like a light again even with her brother tearing around the room.
Speaking of her brother, I better get him ready for his sleep, and then I can get onto washing all the clothes and strating to pack for the weekend.

Afternoon Mummas and Bubbas. This is my 3rd attempt to post in here since last night, so sorry if I forget anyone.
J- Yay for getting so much sleep.
Naomi- LOL about not pulling ur top up. Lucky u were only walking around the house. Have u got a baby monitor that u could put in Baileys room if u wanted him to sleep in his cot?
Nicky- I will add u to FB when Im finished in here. Yay for Allira only having the one unsettled night. Kids do grow up very fast. I couldnt believe it when J&Z turned 5 this month.
Snacks- The trip downtown actually went better than I thought. I was prepared for major disaster, but luckily all went good. It has given me confidence to do it more often now.
AFU, The last 2 nights, Logan has slept heaps better. I settled him at 1am this morning, after his midnight feed, then he woke at 5.15am, then at 8.45am, so guess who had to ring and cancel their appointment again? Im hoping he continues with the longer feeding times.
Just a quick question- How do u get babies into a routine? With J&Z they were in one since they were born, as SCN had to feed them at certain times, so when I brought them home, they were already in a routine. I need to get Logan into a routine that fits in with the kinder runs and other things.

BG: No reason why E shouldn't stick to that pattern, at least for a while. Natty used to do the same thing - catnap all afternoon and then settle around 9 and sleep for at least 5 hours, often more. By the time she was 3 months she was sleeping 8-10 hours / night. (Then it turned to crap when she was 4 or 5 months old, but no reason why Em should do the same thing!)
Nicky: Is your DS attracted to Allira like a magnet?!? I can't keep Natty away from Phoebe - she just wont be distracted. It is ok, except that unless I'm watching her like a hawk she does stupid things like lying on top of her or 'patting' her - quite hard! And Phoebe just does not reciprocate the love - she usually starts crying within seconds of coming into contact with her.
Bridg: There was a thread around here the other day about newborn routines. Will see if I can find it for you in a sec. I personally think its hard to establish a routine this early, but people do successfully do it. A good suggestion is to follow your baby's own pattern - if you note down when they want to feed and then when they get tired and need to sleep, you aparently usually find a pretty consistent pattern. I'll certainly be wanting to have a routine for Phoebe by the time she's 4 months.

Last night was better here. Had two 3.5 hour blocks and DH was at home today so looked after Natty while Phoebe and I had a morning sleep from about 8:30 til 10. Was sweet. Feel so much better for it.

Amy - awesome re Phoebe's bigger sleep blocks, sounds like she is starting to get a bit of a rhythm going there - Yaaaaah for you and your sleep
Jess - Hi right back at ya, hows the studies going!? Fabulous pic of Andy's smile - what a big grin that was!!
Bridge - re the sleep routines, I'm with Amy, its v. hard to establish them this young, but I have found that in the last two weeks, Bailey is sorting one out for himself, so I 'put him to bed' after his 7pm-8pmish feed by putting him in his sleeping bag, turning the lights down low and he goes to sleep pretty much as soon as he has his sleeping bag on - loving it. He then feeds about 11 or 12, then I am getting up about 3-4 to do another feed - I am hoping in another month or so he will drop the 4am-ish feed, but not planning on doing anything if he doesn't as if he is waking hungry, then I think he needs the feed KWIM. As for during the day - he pretty much feeds spot on 3 hours - so much so I could set my clock by him - I have been able to get him to feed earlier or distract him and fed a bit later to change the 3 hour rotation when needed although this doesn't always work. Hopefully Logan will fall into a routine for you in the next few weeks (as Bailey is 10 weeks tomorrow so its taken a while to get this routine happening, but its a very baby-led routine). BG - Have also been checking out Emerald on FB - she has really grown! She is so adorable, I love her fair features, such a girly girl
Ahhh, I still cant bear to leave Bailey in his bedroom, still with us in the craddle, even with the monitor on I still worry LOL. After leaving him sleeping soundly in his cot in his room the other night I walked into our room to see the empty cradle with his 'Bailey' bear in it and realised that he should still be in our room - by the time he's 21 he should be sleeping in his own room LMAO :ROFL:
He really loves sitting up now, LOVES to see whats going on around him, I might even change the bassinet attachment in his pram to the seat in a few weeks - see how we go
I went to the movies today - our local cinema have a 'spit the dummy' session but I didn't realise until after it started that they dont advertise it real well and most of the other cinema goers were not parents, at first I felt bad every time Bailey cried but then I though 'tough titties', if someone has a problem they can complain to the cinema for not outlining clearly it was a parent friendly session (although it didn't feel that way). I think next time I will go to Hoyts or Greater Union as they lower the volume, leave the lights on low and even put a change table in the cinema - much more parent friendly
DH has a gig on Sat night so has band practice for the next three nights and then the gig so I have four evenings with just me and Bailey - DOH! Might have to go to my Mums tomorrow night for some company and see one of my GF Fri or Sat night I think
I finally got Bailey out of NB nappies and into infant - he's growing so fast!!

BG - I meant to ask, when you give Miss E a dream feed, do you literally just feed her and then put her back to bed (eg no burping, nappy change etc)? Just wondering how the dream feed works?
When I feed Bailey in the middle of the night I keep the lights low etc but still do a nappy change and burp and he usually goes straight back to sleep anyhoo, but very curious as I have read lots of comments that dream feeds get babies to sleep longer through the night?

Amy - OMG Lachie is OBSESSED with his sister. If he couls hold her, kiss her smother her all day everyday he would. I was getting a bit worried at times because he's a bit rough without realising so got the portacot out and now I put Allira in her bouncer and put that in the protacot. I had to do it for my sanity and for my poor hosue that has been so neglected for so long (and my bladder which enjoys being emptied in a nice calm manner other than me trying to squeeze whizz out in record time in case my boy was jumping on my baby! HAHA) I didn't want to banish her to the bedroom, and I didn't want Lachie to think she just appeared sometimes. I also didn't want her to decide that day time was night time by being in a dark room. It's nice and bright out here with us and a darn sight warmer in front of the fire.
Allira handles Lachie pretty well.... I can see her brace herself when she hears him coming, but in the last week she has become really interested in him. She will stare at him for ages with a little smirk on her face. I can't wait until they can play together for real instead of Lachie sticking stickers to her forehead for fun. LOL
Bridg - It would be much easier if I had my same Last name. If you've got other people from this thread on FB, look for me through their friends. Otherwise, I can come and find you. hehe. Stupid common last name. It was Soooo hard thinking of boys names for DS when we've got this last name. Luckily Allira wasn't a boy, she'd probably still be unnammed.
Naomi - good on you for heading to the flicks! I have never taken the kids there....lachie doesn't do sitting still and he would NEVER have lasted longer than about 20 mins before he screamed the place down when he was a bub. Good luck for all those nights on your own!!! I don't know how I would cope. Well, I guess I would just have to, but I think MIL or my Mum would probably pop around at some stage. hehe. That photo of Bailey is just adorable!! I am struggling to catch any of Allira's smiles... she doesn't seem to smile heaps whilst awake at the moment, but LOTS when she's a sleep, although we got an awesome photo on Hubby's phone at 5am the other morning. Her best smile yet.
Well, we went shopping today (and I took MIL for backup haha). I still haven't braved taking the 2 kids on my own yet. With the massive drive (200km round trip), the weather, the fact that Lachie is an absolute nutter, and the ridiculous excuses for car parks (especially the lack of Parents with Prams spaces), I am just not too keen.
Allira was 7 weeks old today. MAD! I can't beleive it's nearly been 2 months since I had her, but I also don't feel like I was really ever without her. I find it hard to remember life before Allira. It's so funny how that happens. I know we had Lachie on his own for 21 months, but it's just strange trying to imagine it without Her in it.
Anyway, I've got lots of packing and double checking to do tomorrow before we go away on the weekend. Looking forward to it, but it's going to be very non stop from Friday afternoon until we get home Sunday night. My sister is going to meet Allira for the very first time and I'm quite excited about that. She'll be madly in love with her and she'll be in shock as to how much Lachie has grown.
Enough of my waffle.
