another sparkly new thread for us to chatter away in
sorry i've been so quiet lately. my spare time is spent unpacking/rearranging/setting up for Christmas, as well as dealing with E being unsettled. this last eye tooth is giving her so much grief!! earlier tonight she was feeding, pulled off and said "hurts here mummy" and pointed to the tooth. she has crashed from pure exhaustion, with no dinner in her tummy - we could be in for a long night!

we've been given the green light by the RE to put in a vegie patch (provided we maintain it - well duh!). this morning we spent a few hours cleaning up the area we're putting it in, and then building the "fence" for it. we took some leftover fencing materials from the old house and realised the easiest way to create a strong wall to hold the soil of the garden was to build a short fence - so E was on pencil patrol "here daddy, no I hold" lol, C was measuring and cutting, and i was hammering it all together. starting to feel it a bit now - more from the cold than that actual activity though i think. Tonight we have put up some of our Christmas lights outside. still have a star and five sets of rope lights to put up, but we were all getting way too cold and tired so we called it quits.

Emma - Funny, was my MCHN who seemed most concerned (mainly about the angle she holds her legs) but apart from the steps on Friday night - she doesn't stand unsupported at all or any steps - is a balance thing I think - she is very top heavy (big head and ribcage).

No walking since Friday - only lots of knee walking - and bum shuffling - is like she is tormenting me!!!

BG - I would love to have a veggie patch - we had some stuff on the balcony but possums ate everything

A couple of questions am sure you clever ladies will know the answer to

- does anyone know where you can get those net bags with suckers on you can use for keeping bath toys in? I tried target and no luck - don't want a bucket as need them to drain and get air flowing round them easily
- can you get battery powered christmas tree lights - our tree is in a place we can't get power to - but I would like to have some - and I can't run a cable to it either. Or would solar power work if I put on balcony in day time maybe?

We downloaded some Christmas songs today, and have been reading CJ Christmas stories - trying to get in the mood - is difficult because of the opposite seasons here, and have never been that into it - but mum says have to for CJ.

Emma - I've heard that the "professionals" don't tend to worry about a child not walking until they are about 2, unless of course there is obviously something that is holding them back (like foot or leg issues). My niece never was getting close to 2 before she would walk. She didn't even like to crawl very much. She preferred things to be brought to her. In the end it was bribery that got her moving, lol. We would put food or toys just out of her reach, haha!
Congrats on being debt free! That must feel wonderful

BG - I have a feeling that Kyson's eye teeth have been thinking about making an appearance at some stage. He had a couple of unsettled nights and then I thought I could see a white bump where one of the teeth would be, but now he's gone back to normal and I can't see the white anymore. Oh well, I guess they'll come in their own time.

Vic - Sounds like CJ is being a cheeky little monkey teasing Mummy with the walking I've got one of those net bags, but it's just a small one that came with a few little toys in it (foam farm animals that stick to the bath side). Not sure where you could get them by themselves. Hmmm, they look very similar to the net bags you can get to put "delicates" in to wash them in the washing machine. Perhaps you could get one of those and sew some little suckers into it. I'm pretty sure I've seem the suckers in the supermarket in the section where you can get hooks and things. Not sure about the Christmas tree lights though. Our christmas tree has the lights already through the tree which I love because it saves me having to put the on and position them until I think they are perfect, hehe.

J - Feed time with the new baby is the part I'm a little worried about. Although my worry is that because Kyson still breastfeeds I think he's going to get quite jealous and try to pull the baby away and just try to climb on me the whole time. We've been practising with the "practise baby" (a doll), but there's a huge difference between pretending for 2 minutes, and actually feeding a newborn for up to an hour! Hopefully Jamie will give you a better day tomorrow so it's not as stressful for you. You are doing some awesome brestfeeding work though!!!

As for us, Kyson is doing really well. He's picking up words really well lately and I love when he tells me what he wants when I ask him. He loves to take our hands and get us to do things for him. He'll even get his toys that have buttons and hold our fingers and make us press the buttons, hehe. He wanted to play a thomas game on the computer tonight so he dragged me by the had to the computer and told me "Mumma sit" then climbed up on my lap (what's left of it, haha) and told me "Dit dit!". Oh yeah, for some reason Thomas is still "dit dit", lol).

I'm still battling with this nasty pelvic instability. DH has had to help me walk on occasion and he's banned me from a whole list of things. I want to finish putting up the christmas deco's but he tells me off whenever he see's me on the little step ladder! Oh, and apparently I must be having trouble seeing past my belly, because I keep hurting myself due to not seeing things on the floor. First was my stumble on Kyson's ball from the ball pit which resulted in even more pelvic pain, and then a couple of days ago I managed to step on the triangle from his shape ball and bruise the bottom of my foot, and later kicked something in the garage coming in from the car and got a big ugly blood blister and bruise on the top of my big toe. Of course it's on the same foot too, haha. Very attractive I might add I really must be more careful.

Oh, and I started getting a little worried yesterday that the baby was thinking about coming. I've been getting BH for weeks now (actually, probably months), but yesterday I was getting them everytime I stood up, and sometimes while I was still sitting down. They were quite strong ones too. Not the type that just give you the tightening feeling, but the type that makes you stop and actually concentrate on breathing for a minute or two. I played it down a big so that DH didn't know I was getting worried, but apparently he was starting to wonder if she was thinking about coming too. Good news is that everything settled down again last night and I've just been getting the standard BH every now and then again.

I'm also a little nervous about tomorrow. I'm going to visit a friend of mine and her daughter (who is about 4 months younger than Kyson I think). A few weeks ago she went for a 20 week scan and found out that she had no amniotic fluid, that the baby's kidneys weren't working and that the baby would not survive. They had further testing done, but at 22 weeks her baby passed away and she birthed her little boy into the world. Tomorrow will be the first time I've seen her since it happened and while normally I wouldn't be nervous about seeing her, me being super pregnant makes me feel a little strange. Her and her husband actually sent an email out to friends and family which mentioned it it that they knew quite a few families that are expecting babies soon, and asked them not to exclude them from their journey, but even saying that it must be a little confronting when you just lose a baby and see someone close to having one. Both her and her husband are amazing people, and despite this being such a traumatic and devastating experience, they are handling things in a really positive and healthy way, and I am just amazed by their strength. The day of their memorial for their son I decorated a gorgeous candle and left it burning all day in his memory. I know feel that the candle is his and that his family should have it, so I made a matching card and will give them both to her tomorrow. I also got them a "shining star" bear so that they can name a star after their little boy. We did that for our angel baby and for me personally it helped me a lot. We also got one for Kyson and I have one ready for Apple Blossom when seh arrives as well. I hope my friend and her husband like the gifts and the spirit in which I give them...

wow u are getting close exciting not really sure about the sharing BFing thing but i do know that jamie likes to take the opportunity to do naughty things so it might happen with kyson

well ive been married for 2 years now it went so quick and now we have 2 gorgeous kiddies well today has seen the hourly feeds slow down im happy coz i was absoloutely stuffed but last night she slept from 11 to about 5 so that helped never had growth spurts with jamie so this is all a new concept for me

AFM: Ashy cant wait for xmas as he wnats his bike already lol Andy keeps trying to get the shiny balls off the tree. susprisesd my tree is still standing
