    Hi ladies!!

Yes, it is quiet in here, but I think that it's a good thing - it means we are all busy with our bubs and our lives IRL to spend too long on BB! I know I struggle to find the time. And when I go back to work (next week - yikes!) I will be probably only popping in once a week or so.....

    So .......

Cass - Marta crawling - wow! DD shows no sign of it here, hates her tummy time and will roll straigt back, but she will pull up (with assistance) and take weight thru her legs, so I reckon she is just going to wait till she can walk and skip the crawling all together! I had to laugh at everyone saying about needing to do some cleaning though, because I have been thinking that too!

Cherished - good to see you! Bad news about the cold, I hope it's better now!

HPL - how is Audrey going? She must be crawling now too, or very close?

AFM - well, DD had a snuffly nose for a week (I think it was hayfever, as she wasn't sick like a cold), it was just that she couldn't blow her nose, so she was all blocked up and couldn't feed, sleep or breathe through her nose. So poor mummy was very tired. Thankfully she is better now.
Our main "troubles" have been around sleeping - well day sleeps or naps - and for me they are still a challenge, but at least she goes to sleep for dad. I think she smells the milk on me, and just wants to suckle all the time because its nice.
Eating - she is enjoying her food, and likes feeding herself. She surprises everyone with what she eats (solid finger food only). If she does have a soft food like yoghurt, she won't allow me to use the spoon, she has to do it herself, miss independence.
And the biggest news - I am going back to work, just part-time, but still We have day care organised, which I am happy with what we have arranged, I just don't want to have to do it.
And the big plan is, after going back to work, we will begin TTC, so hopefully I won't be back there for very long!
Well that's us in a nutshell. Hope all you ladies are doing well.

PS. Is there anyway I can PM you guys a photo??? I don't have a facebook/photobucket/etc.

hi milly! i wish i was busy i just dont wanna hijack the thread hahahaha!

poor bubs with the snuffly gruffly nose . do you get hayfever too? do you think the "little fess" would work for her? (the snot sucking thingo). we also jack up the cot with the yellow pages when Marta is blocked up. i find that it helps.

and wow! back to work! part time is pretty good though, and yeah if you are TTC then you may just not be there long i am hoping to get part time work too. i would love for it to start next year as i am having a good time at home (never got to do it with dd1).

i had to laugh at the soft food...marta is the same, she hates it because she wants to do it all! and strangely she seems to spit most of it out! but give her a lamb chop and she cleans it right up

AFM: well the renovations are pretty much done. have to just wait on benchtops and splashbacks, but at least the house is FINALLY free from plaster dust and marta can crawl easily around. although on that front the poor poppet has bruises on her arms from commando crawling

Cas your renos sound fantastic, I love kitchens and ours is one of my fav places in our house, House #2 will be even better I reckon! You spend so much time in there it's great to have a nice space to work in I think. Cammando crawling hey! DS is no crawling, he is pulling himself up to stand and when we hold him he can stand for a couple of seconds without us holding him, he slips around and gets onto him knees , sometimes he rocks but mainly he is sitting up and moving around in circles depending on where the toys are that he wants to play with. Woohoo on Marta being home with you now, I'll have my fingers crossed that you get her into one closer to home when you need it. How are the girls going in the same room?

HPL if my eyes weren't already green they sure woudul be now! Sleeping through..... ahhhhh what a dream! We were into a 3 hr thing with the ocasional 4 hr stretch. The last few nights have been every 2 hours OMOG it's really wearing me down thankfully dh is right there by my side so it doesn't feel like I'm doing it all on my own. I dont' knwo how I'd cope if he was gone all day every day for work. Thankfully he's hone 90% of the time to help out as much as possible.

Belfie Hi hon so good to hear from you, Gosh it doesn sound like you've had a hard time. I remember your thread a while back, I hope things are looking up for you.

Milly reading your post about the nipple biting and your horrible day I feel really bad that I haven't been here to give you loads of cyber hugs How are you going with the biting now and are your boobies ok now? When does daycare start? It's just after Easter now, I hope you are OK I'd LOVE to see some pics! I doint' think there is a way to pm photos but you can create an album on BB that can only been seen by your friends When does work start?

OK now for the rest of the AFM.... I'm pretty good but have been on a huge rollercoaster with life really. Had a few marital problems connecting etc which I posted about a while back. Things ended up getting better and then exploded again last week. I think it's on the mend now as we've talked about everything and I think we'll be OK now....... I've been socialising a fair bit which is something I've missed over the last couple years. Have met loads of mums with babies as I'min 3 different mothers groups. I think eventually I'll jsut hang out with the girls that I like most and kinda have my own mothers group lol. DS is great other than this sleep issue and the cold he's getting over. Man does it break your heart when they are sick!!! dh and I are going to put into practice some of the ideas in teh no cry sleep solution book and see if we can't get hiim sleeping for longer stretches at night. re the food I'm no longer sure that I'm doing the right thing for DS. He is eating loads of different fruits and vegies but is still only having the brown rice and oats. I didn't give him the iron fortified rice cereal as I just didn't want to but now I'm worried about iron I am going to start giving him floravital and will pick some up today so he'll be getting iron there. He also hasnt' had any meat as we are vego BUT we are going to 'try' some meat. Dh has been vego for over 15 years and me for about 6. If we end up feeling ok with it then we will start giving DS some meat but it'll still only be a couple of times a week. As for food texture. DS likes it non chunky. I never made any of his food 'runny' I jsut mashed it up with the hand blender thing and added a smidge of water to things like mashed sweet potato so that it wasn't like clag that would get stuck in his mouth. Tehre are a few lumps in things like mashed avo or banana which he's fine with but anything bigger (even though the food is soft) he doesn't liek it and gags. I know he needs to get used to it but I thought he's be onto finger food by now? I've given him a chunk of mango and cooked carrot and a chunk of really soft juicy nectarine but he doesn't really go for it, if I mash it up and spoon it to hmi he loves it.

In other news I still want another baby! I am ovulating now for the 3rd time since birth and it's really strong. I'm loosely charting (CM only) and next cycle will also do OPK's and PH test my CM to see how alkaline/acidic I am. After I've done that for a few months I want to get serious about ttc a girl Anyway I think my time is almost up as ds will be waking up soon, I'll try not to leave it so long next time!! Now that I've caught up I should be ok to keep on top of this thread.

    Hi Ladies,

Firstly, I had the most BIGGEST post typed up a few days ago, I had gone back DAYS if not WEEKS and replied to everyone I was so proud of myself then I bl**dy well lost it all and was so pi**ed off that I just logged off!! And then well I kinda forgot!! my bad sorry!!!

Cherished: There is no need for green eyes any more my love... DD has decided she will wake up at 3am these days, in her defence she is teething but it sure is a shock to the system.... If you don't want to give bubba meat as your both vego has you read the baby book Top Baby Foods by Annabel something?? She has receipes in there that contain tofu (sp) I have tried it on DD, we eay meat, but though why not as her Oma is vego and she LOVED it... As with you and DH you just need to find different ways to provide DS with iron... Redbean wash, caramlise onions and garlic with redbeans mashed.... almost like Dutch food hahahah

Cass: Sooo jealous of the reno's we're still going hahahahaha, kitchen almost finished, but DF has now decided to turn our garage into a rumpus room and nursery... and then build a lockup carpark, plus wanting to do the garden lol... I think I need your DH though as mine doesn't seem to finish them just start new ones LMAO

Mily: I would LOVE to see photos but I have no idea how to lol... Sleeping is starting to become a little struggle atm but I am sticking ot my guns... She sleeps on her belly now unwrapped, but the routine is the same, whether she has just had a botte or not, we walk in I say Night Night (day or night) turn the sleep music on, put her dummy in, lay her down, cover her up, then I do pat her bum or rock her gently but only for 5 - 10mins, and to be honest I enjoy the time with her, it's what suits us and we're fine with that, afterwards, I walk away and she's fine... Maybe have to go in twice to put dummy back in but never pick her up again, she's not crying just noisy.... But i know a lot of parents having troubles with sleep... How's work been?? and kiny??

Belfie: Hi again, i can't remember if I said Hi already or if that was in my lost post...

AFM: Well Audrey finally has her 6mth needs she has just been too sick with UTI or Chest Infection to get them done, she was such a trooper so good.. The nurse starting do Peekaboo and DD starting laughing was priceless. Now heres the shocking thing well I think its funny, she's perfect for weight and height but when Ive said she's tiny this will make it clear lol... Ok so she is 67cm tall, HC 46.5cm and she weighs................ 6.90kgs LMAO she is soooooooooooo tiny my neice who is 1 day older than DD weight that at 2mths ... Ah well she a tiny cute bubba!! She has started teething again hence the shocking sleep atm, but what I'm really really really sad about is AUDREY HAS WEANED HERSELF OVER THE EASTER BREAK!!!!!!!!!!! I am 100% devo I thought it was just coz she was teething and liked chewing the teet but nope now I am lucky to get her to feed from me twice a day, I just cried and cried!!!! I really wanted to go to 12mths, but not now, maybe 12ths with BF and FF.... DD not interesting in crawling I dont think, hates being on her belly unless its to sleep, she just wriggles backwards and rolls over and pulls herself up to the sitting position, whats more scary is if im not careful she finds something to grab and pulls herself up STANDING can you imagine this tiny little 67cm thing WALKING umm no way... but I think she will walk and not crawl... She eats EVERYTYHING these days, chicken, pork, steak, noodle, mince, you name it she'll eat it.... Big piggy!! dont know wher she puts it though lol....

ohh better go bubba woke up... so tired from the needles... xxx take care

    hi girls!!

hahahaha, oh trust me girls dont be jealous about the renos lol. there is so much plaster dust around AGAIN! builder came by to install the range exhaust thingo and the plumber came by to rig up the instant hot water thingo and will be back tomorrow to finish the job (so no hot water tonight arrghh!) and to connect the stove. and still we wait for 3 weeks for the frikkin benchtops arghhhh! and now DH wants to throw us into a new round of mega renos and extension of the living and bathroom/laundry . i want to wait a bit hahaha i find it too tiring especially with a crawling bubba around that just luuurrves to eat anything in sight (including slugs...did you know that they have entrails? i do! pulling them out of your baby's mouth is so gross).

Cherished: argh! sorry to hear that you guys have been having a hard time of it of late. if it's any consolation DH and I went through a pretty tumultuous time emotionally after DD1 was born (even without the PND that i had thrown in). having a baby really makes one face alot of stuff and give the drive and determination to really nut out any problems/stresses that might of been there. try and see it as a cleansing exercise that will only make your relationship stronger and built on solid ground (still, it is sooo not easy going through it: also our MG found that we all had crappy times of it with our DHs around the 9 month mark after bubs was born...maybe you guys just got there a bit earlier? we found that it had alot to do with life getting back to 'normal' but there still being unanswered future life questions raised by the new human and new circumstances in our life ITMS).

man oh man it does sound like your little boy is keen to walk! far out! a mover and a shaker no wonder he doesnt like to sleep for too long a stretch...places to go, people to see Mummy! hahaha. seriously though, that is a tough gig that the sleep is not for longer periods. sounds like you guys are really holding your chins up through it all though xx

re the iron: my friends have raised their 2 sons without any meat whatsoever...i'll write her an email and get some tips...i know that you love to cook and she made gorgeous yummo food, so no doubt there will be some cool tips that you will be able to totally dominate (me on the other hand still struggle to boil an egg )

HPL: haha, no need to be embarrassed about patting her to sleep with me! i still feed marta to sleep for every feed lol. of course that means the ones at home, she is happy to fall asleep without my boobs when we are galavanting about thankfully.
and here i was complaining about the 5am wakeup....eeeepp! let's hope the 3am thing is just a brief interlude . we used to just bring DD1 (and now do it with DD2) into the big bed with us and have quiet time, where i quietly sing her songs and give her a feed etc etc until about 6.30 at which point i get up with her and have a cuppa.

and massive one of these babe re the end of BF that must be a bit tough xx (in fact, i couldnt imagine it...but then again, marta does seem to be cutting down a fair bit ).

Milly: ah sorry babe, other than the BB album i dont think you can post private pics without the use of FB or photobucket...that said PB is pretty easy to set up and can be made private with password access to visitors...

AFU: well, here i was thinking that crawling was intense enough...walk into her room this evening to catch her standing up with one hand only holding the change table leg. she was so proud of herself but i was a bit like this:
she also has a really sore throat today and bad cough developing poor wee poppet. i feel so bad, i just have been feeding her constantly and cuddling her but also had to give her some panadol tonight just so that she could sleep (only slept for a max of 40 mins today).

    Hi Ladies,

I had just written a long post... and now it's gone, gone, gone, ohh ohh gone....

OK, so here we go again...

Cass - we did try the "little fess" but I was HOPELESS with the sucker, so we just used the nasal drops. I have since been told about another type (like a straw that you suck??) but I have no idea what it's called or what it looks like (so if anyone knows... please post/pm me). Good news is, she is all clear now.
Yes, I do get allergies - that first night, we were both "snot monsters" (to steal your term) together!
Yay on the renovations being finished - that is very exciting!
Little Marta she may only be standing a bit now, but I think she will be running marathons soon!

Cherished - the biting has all but finished now - I think she was really just struggling to work out how to use her mouth with the 2 new teeth in it, as well as having sore gums. So it was only a day or two that I couldn't cope. I still get an occaisional nip, but mostly if she is tired or cranky - and these are quite manageable, thank goodness.
Don't feel bad about not being on the boards - its the nature of it, we will all be popping in and out as our schedules allow.
Sorry to hear things have been rough for you. I hope you and DH are OK now, and that the extra "outings" have been helpful for you.
I don't have any advice for you on the solids, sorry.
Hey cherished, are you making your necklaces yet?

HPL - sleep eh? it seems none of our babies have read the books we have, LOL. Are you sure she is weaning, and not just off her booby with teething? DD stopped feeding for a couple of days, and I just pumped it off those days so I wouldn't lose my supply. Having said that, if you have lost some supply, you can still get it back (pump, pump and pump).

AFM - We have been busy - swimming lessons have started up again.
But the big news is that today was the first day of 'alone' day care, although I now don't start work till Monday. And didn't mummy cry - OMG did I ever!!!!! DD did OK, only got upset more around feeding time (which I was arriving for in 5 mins anyway) and of course, sleep time. But she did have a sleep - one hour, so not too bad considering (well, not ideal - from 9.000am to 4.00pm, but she did sleep in the car on the way home, and went to bed early).
SHe didn't like their food very much, and they didn't potty her as I had asked, but I pottied her when I came down to feed her, but all in all, not too bad for a first day. Except for me, howling inconsoleably for the entire day. I hope I can be a bit more with it at work or it's going to be very hard not to mention embarrassing!

OK, photos, so how do I do an album here on BB?

gotta go, eyes falling out of my head....

hi guys! phew, it has been awhile! i had been *trying* to step back from BB for a little bit...can be sooo addictive at times lol! but here i am

HPL: so is little Audrey crawling around yet? did she get her toy

she sounds like she is eating some really yummo stuff! we might just pop on by if that's ok lol. As for marta, well she pretty much eats whatever we are eating. but she really likes vegie soup for some reason. although i have to say that it is one messy meal as she *needs* to put her hands in it and swish it all around hahaha.

Milly: how is little bubba girl going at childcare these days? i that she has found her groove and has a few little friends to play with. it is so awesome once they are settled and you can really see them just flourish in that environment. new toys, new people and then it is soo so so so wonderful picking them up of an afternoon *mwah* all those cuddles.

AFM: we are all pretty awesome here. marta is really on the move and is destructo baby 101. she can surf along furniture now and even climb up onto things which is a bit scary. thankfully she isnt walking on her own yet...but it truly doesnt stop her. as i type she is climbing up onto the shelf of her change table and throwing all her MCNs and nighties on the ground . goodbye baby and hellllloooooooooo toddler hahahahahahahaha!
she is also in desperate need of a haircut. her hair is sooo long now that hairclips are struggling. i do put her in ponytails etc, but she really can't see when it is down

hope you are all awesome! i am so blown away by how fast these little people are growing. DH is already clucky and apparently is just waiting for my green light lol! what about you guys? y

buggar boo I posted a big long post and have lost it So in a nut shell I started hiding under my chair wondering if I was still welcome in this thread as I left it so long ago But after the lovely milly popped in to say hello to me I got wondering how you all are? Then I went on to say that ds is great and a happy little soul. We are still co-sleeping and I LOVE it, the cuddles and kisses in the morning are my fav thing ever! He's only just got his 4th tooth pop through today... very slow teether! But they haven't given him too much grief either and because we are still breastfeeding I'm kinda glad they have taken a while to come through too. He's walking and talking and in general is a really healthy little man who we love to bits!

Hope you are all well xx
