Ginger, isn't there a whole forest full of trees up on the hill there? Must be some logs lying around somewhere. Get DH to do a quick reccie with the chainsaw half an hour before he heads out to work tomorrow. (Either that or a quick run to the servo for one of their bags)??

Loving the gas heater today, parked myself next to it with all my study bits (although at one point I did need an emergency hot chocolate).

Well i'm pooping myself since I got my metadata assignment back and I only got 60%.- I'm running loads behind on my forum contributions (ironic, yeah, I know) which are partly scored based on their frequency and timeliness (more irony!!) - I'm terrified of failing, not for the failing (there are worse things in life) but because I'm on the study scheme at work I would have to tell them. So potential failure and public humiliation all rolled into one. Fark why do I do this to myself???

i was out and about doing things for most of the day. i actually drove through sleet this morning to get to a friend's place. kids thought it was so cool! then when i dropped L off at kinder on the way home and J went to bed. the house was so cold and i didn't want to drag J out of bed to go and pick up L so i called dad over and he came and sat here while i went to pick up L so that little J could stay in bed
geez you dont get any houses around here giving away free firewood! as soon as a tree falls down everyone turns up with their ute and chainsaw and grabs what they can

There are loads of these spacky terribly obvious exercises to do (teeeeedious) and you're supposed to post your answers for the benefit of the other students. To "stimulate discussion". In a subject which is so devoid of interest that it has to be artificially manufactured.Anyway I'm supposed to have been busy on this for weeks but i'm so far up CBF'ed Lane I haven't. I'm now I'm sweating.

G, they have discussion boards similar to these where you can post questions and stuff too. Yay for firewood. It was cold here today too.
MD, I had to do that for one of my subjects last year and it sucked bigtime. But it was a major part of passing the course so you had to do it. An english subject I have now does it too and it's about stuff that is boring as bat**** but luckily we aren't being marked on it. Can you spend a day just catching up on the forum stuff?

Yeah, that's the other sucky bit. I'm totally used to being able to pull stuff out of my bum in a fraction of the time it takes anyone else but now post-chemo the cogs turn. oh. so. slowly. Everything takes about 4 times as long as it used to (even reading takes longer). The plan is to catch up in stages over the next week but I'm worried my score will be so low I may not limp across that pass line. Boohoo can you tell I'm totally PMTing here today?

The forum thing sounds horrible. I am very lucky in that our distance ed is entirely self sufficient - there are no group assignments or forum anythings.
Sounds like it is colder in Australia than it is here! We are amazed that it is mid may and we don't really need the fire on. There have been a couple of colder mornings but mainly I am putting it on to dry washing.
Just read all the posts but it has fallen straight out of my head. Barely slept last night, W woke at 10.30pm and didn't go back to sleep. I was lying at the end of his bed until 2am, but he was wide awake and couldn't lay there anymore so I put telly on for him. He was still watching when DH got up with A at 4am and he is still awake. He doesn't even look tired. Is there a genetic component to insomnia? I have always had a problem but I was hoping that the kids wouldn't get it
I just told the IL's I wouldn't need them when DH was away next month, but I can't manage if there are going to be no sleep nights! I am already wondering how to cope with all the wake-ups and the 4am starts without DH to help. Terrible, but do you think a Dr would give me a some sort of make-her-sleep pill for A? She is waking about every two hours, takes an hour to resettle, I get back to bed and an hour later she is awake again. Then she gets up at 4-5am.

Lu's first day at Kinder was great. There were lots of tears...... when i had to take her home.

Trill- You are so right, it is soooo much better not getting in the pool. I am trying to convince the lady S is fine by herself too. Wouldn't that be a dream.

wow i can't believe how much uni has changed since i was there. forum posts! unbelievable! i had enough trouble just getting my assignments in and turning up to the exams let alone anything else. i honestly don't think i could study now, you girls are champions for doing it i reckon. well done!

that food sounds amazing! so glad L is loving it so much
arte- i really don't know about the kids' sleeping and what to do. i mean, that can not be good for him to be awake all night like that. it must really affect his mood the next day. i would definitely be going to the gp for some advice.
