Happy Easter everyone! Hope you have all had a fantastic day. Easter egg hunt was a huge hit with L.
oh yeah i hope that everyone had a lovely day today! we ate too much food and way too much chocolate, and were in good company with friends, so all in all a great day!

Yeah, chocolate overload here. Funnily enough we showed my dad a video of the kids hunting their eggs, and he raved about how much chocolate they got BUT they actually gave the kids more choc than we did :lol: It just looked like a lot on account of the 2 dozen plastic eggs (which was about the right number becaues DD1 flits around finding them really quickly, need to put a lot out else missy E misses out)!
Now wondering what to do on our extended public hol...hmm, thinking thinking...
Hope everyone had a good easter/passover
Ours was pretty good. We went out to the bush for an easter egg hunt, decided it was good weather for camping so we went back home and got the tent and camped out for the night. We didn't do too much chocolate. I made about 20 eggs and choc lollipops which we wrapped and decorated with little stickers. I was going to make a big egg for W but decided his recent behaviour didn't need a choc boost!
Off to Wanganui for scan tomorrow. Still haven't decided to if I want to know the gender - kind of hoping for legs crossed so I don't have to decide. I do have a girls name picked that I like and I can get DH to agree with, so most likely it is a boy.
Hope all goes well with your scan tomorrow. Will it be an opportunity for some added retail therapy too? Your choc making efforts sound fantastic, well done. I must say you make camping sound pretty effortless, gosh I'm hard up just packing and getting the family ready for an afternoon across town!!
We have a crate filled with all the camping gear so it is only a matter of packing a few clothes and bedding and we are all set. DH did forget the tent pegs though and had to drive home again and get them lol.
Not much chance for retail therapy because the kids will be with us, but I am going to go to a big second hand shop there and hopefully they have some maternity clothes. There are no shops in Wanganui that sell maternity clothing except Pumpkin Patch and I don't want to pay a lot for clothes that I am sooooo not wearing again!! Getting pretty desperate though - I am down to two pairs of pants that fit, and one of them has popped the button and are now held up with a safety pin lol
Arte - did you find out the gender? I'm dying here!!!! I'm guessing boy!!!

Ginger, if I find out I will tell you. I have a girls name that I am happy with, but completely stuck for boys. I would love to have my grandfathers name as a middle name because he is one of my favorite people in the world - but his name is Gordon. Not sure how that will work.
I like that idea for the middle name, i like middle names for that reason, that you get to put in a special person's name for your kid. wish DH would of let me give the girls a middle name...even though it would mean a four barrel name haha.
MD: what did you end up doing today? the weather here has been just gorgeous, so we just soaked up the sunshine in the park and had some yummo coffee and pizza at brunettis.
AFM: well, we had a great long weekend! went to a small town about an hour out of melbourne called Maldon. the claim to fame for that town is the easter fair (the longest running fair in oz!). so we went along to watch the parade (gorgeous!) and watched the great egg toss. almost got done by some eggs lol.
and today was just sublime what with the sunshine and perfect temps. so we headed out to carlton for some coffee and book shopping. bumped into friends at the thomas the tank engine table and then made our way home. then friends came by and we headed to the park where we rigged up a flying fox for the kids and made a cubby house out of branches and had a wee little picnic. had a great time and marta LOVED the flying fox haha little daredevil lol.
Cholc overload here too. MD I love your idea of plastic eggs and think we will do that next year.
Arte I am thinking blue for you too. I hope your scan and hunt for mat clothes goes well.
I hope everyone has had a great Easter and loooong weekend. We are still in Sydney, meant to head home tomorrow but I have a newborn shoot in the morning so will head home on Thursday. Its been a great holiday but I am looking forward to getting home. DH will still have a few days off when we get home which will be nice.

mwah! i love it! Leila was so so tiny at well, just 100gms smaller than the bubba you are about to meet...i can't believe how fast they grow!
busy busy buy here again. Easter was fine - just a quiet one because DH was working night shift. But got a phone call from my sister on Saturday night saying that Mum was in hospital again as she got another infection in her foot and they had to take another toe off (same foot as before). So she is stuck in frikken Monash Clayton because she and my brother were down there for a week to have easter with my sister. So Monday I had to drive to Albury to pick my brother up and bring him home so he doesn't miss school and to cap it off he is a debutante partner for one of his friends so he also has rehearsals for that. We're hoping that they will transfer her back to wagga now they have done the surgery but they were talking about her staying in melb for a week to monitor dressing changes and mum is not at all impressed with that! She she is going to keep hassling them about coming back because if she stayed a week with my sister when she is incapacitated, she will either kill herself or my sister LOL.
oh far out Trill! how are your mum's spirits about it all? busy and stressful times for you :hug:
She is really low Cass. She is just so upset that it has happened again when she was doing everything right with her original wound. The Dr's seemed to think that it has something to do with her circulation because they went down by train so they had a 10hr train trip where she was sitting for most of that time and they think that the blood flow to her foot was compromised and allowed an infection to happen. It happened really quickly though but it's a good thing my sister is the massive pain in the arse that she is because she forced mum to go to the hospital instead of waiting till she got home to see her own Dr about it. And now she is in her element because SHE is the one who gets to run around after Mum and make all the phone calls and basically gets the world revolving around here which is the way she likes things. Trouble is she keeps telling us all the wrong information so we've (brothers and I) have told her not to call us, we'll just call the hospital LOL. But she can have that job - I've been there done that and it's hard! It's not as glamourous as she thinks it is
Trill, sounds like it will do your sis the world of good to have that responsibility for a bit (pity about the misinformation). So sorry to hear your mum is going through all this again. :hug: The train trip explanation sounds pretty plausible, but it means she'll have to be soooo vigilant forever more, which is a PITA too.
yeah that's what i was thinking too. goes to show our uber full on it all is...to think a train trip can set it off...does she have all the circulation stocking thingos etc?
i think this will be quite the reality check for your sis: even if you mum wont be there long...just doing the back and forwards to hossy thing is exhausting and emotional.
She didn't have the compression stockings, but she will have to get some now I reckon, even if she just wears them around home. Especially now it's getting colder and she's always been a shocker for feeling the cold in her hands and feet.

G, I know I am done - well and truly 110% done with having babies, but I still get insanely jealous when I hear about someone I know being pg or having had their baby and it is even worse when it is someone having their 5th, 6 of even 7th!. I guess it is just one of those things kwim? I think it stems from remembering how exciting and amazing it was to have a brand new little person in your life. So how was your trip away anyway?

the trip was the trip from hell. i hate camping. i hate being cold. i hate dirtbikes and beer and changing dirty nappies in dusty dirty conditions and no showers....i could go on for hours. let's just say that i won't be leaving our warm house with big tv for the next month.

Sorry the camping wasn't good. I also hate the uncomfortable sleeping arrangements. Usually the airbed half deflates so my hips are on the ground, kid in my bed steals the blanket and my ass hangs out in the cold etc. This time I insisted we take the foam double mattresses that we have, kids had one and we had the other (but I ended up with the kids), and ample sleeping bags to cover us. At least I was warm even if I couldn't sleep. Hearing kiwi's is cool for about a minute, then I am just lying there thinking STFU kiwis!! I want to sleep! LOL

we are wanting to do some camping in the near future. apparently there is a place just out of town that is uber cool and you can hire the whole grounds for like a $100. so the neighbours are all planning a big shindig lol.
Yeah I know where it is G - bugger going there at this time of year though - too frikken cold for my liking! I enjoy camping when it is just adults, but loathe it with kids.
LOL Arte at the Kiwi's. We had a similar experience with Mopoke owls and had to listen to "MO-POKE' all night!
yeah so as you can imagine it was f8888ing freezing and i just couldn't wait to get home. i imagine it would probably be quite nice if you were half tanked the whole time like my dh was, but for me, with 2 toddlers to run around after, not so good.

dh just called- he has just driven up the arse of two cars and has no car insurance. looks like good times have just gone real bad around here.
Oh ****! Is he OK? Fingers crossed that it doesn't cost too much. That is the other problem I have with camping too - it is a holiday for everyone except me. We used to go away water skiing for a week every year before L was born and camp out, and then we moved to cabin accomodation which was better, but by the time we had E it was just **** so we stopped going. I'm really hoping that I get time for a catch up in Melb. But I have to check that we will have spare time to do our own thing before I can make any definite plans. I will let you know as soon as I know though.

he's fine. he's in a tow truck atm on the way home. just really stressed about $. we're under a lot of financial strain atm. i don't really like to talk about money, but things are super tight around here. it's so hard on one wage. how do others do it? we are really struggling :(
