Hi ladies,
Sorry I have been MIA, I have been busy! As well as trying to have some quality time with DH and the kidlets, so no BB time...
Three full days work this week, woah, baby!! I am buggered. I fell asleep on the lounge at 7.30 this morning and slept til 6.45am this morning. No straight of course, still a million wake ups in between, but I was in bed all that time, lol! The kids have been sick again too, so no sleep in my house :( but nothing new...
Operation kids-in-their-own-beds was a dismal failure. DH gave up on it after three nights. I couldn't do it on my own. Liam is going into his cot for day sleeps and first thing at night. I try to resettle him each time in there, sometimes it works sometimes not. I usually end up bringing him to bed at about 2am. Last night there was 3 wakes before he went into my bed, he woke at 2am then he had a feed and slept til 5am then til 7am. Lily woke at 9 and DH resettled her in her bed, then 11.30 I resettled her in her bed, 1 she came into our room then slept til 4am when she wanted to get up and watch Dora. DH managed to keep her in bed til 6am then got up. So pretty *****ty really. I am now trying to prepare myself to get them both into their beds by christmas. I have 3 1/2 weeks off then (our centre closes for that long, not cause I want more time off!) so that will be time for me to do it. Even if I do it alone. I just have to get the idea set in my head. I will take their dummies too. And Liam can go into his bed, so no more cot. He'll be 17months so I think that should be old enough. Lily was about that age too when she went into her bed.
DH's holidays finish tomorrow. Back to work on Monday. Yuck. It's been nice having him home, though I haven't been home much, lol. But I have taken advantage of it and we should be getting some good $$$ coming in the next few weeks so that will be nice too. He's been cooking dinner and doing the daddy thing. Cleaning, not so much, but hey gotta start somewhere.
Sorry to hear some of you guys are having trouble with sleep. For me it's no different, so I'm over it, but for you guys who have half decent sleepers, then it is hard to go from sleeping to not! IYKWIM!!.
Kris, those pg hormones suck big time don't they! Make you do the craziest of things that you normally wouldn't. I hope you and DH sorted out your stuff. I'm sure you did. You guys have alot to deal with at the moment, so I guess you just have to take one day at a time. But on the other hand these men, they have absolutely NO IDEA!!!
Mel, my kids are in a bit of a routine, believe it or not! Lily wakes between 5-6.30am, has her nap at about 12-1.30ish, then bed time is at 7pm. Dinner is the only meal we have by the closk cause it's the start of the bedtime thing, so that's at 5.30, then bath at about 6, books/wind down time 6.30 then sleep. Liam wakes between 6-7am, morning nap between 9-10, arvo nap at about 2, no later than 3, then bedtime is 6.30 (or 7ish if DH is home). Dinner/ bed/ bath same a Lil. When DH is home it's easier cause he puts Lily to bed. Wehn he's not, I put on a DVD for Lily til Liam is asleep then I read her stories and lay with her to go to sleep. She's really good in that she won't bother me putting Li to bed and will watch the DVD til I come out which is usually about 20mins or so. If only I could get them to sleep all night!!!! Or at least only one wake up a night each....I could live with that.
Kaz, that AF showed her ugly head. I hope your doggy is ok. Maybe he ate something he shouldn't have?
Ok gotta go Li just fell over. He's walking with stuff now and was pushing the dining chair and fell over :(. And I should and dress the kidlets. We are going to watch my nephew play in his first soccer grand final. And tomorrow it's DH grand final. Fun filled weekend!
Hi to DisMel, Jen....and anyone else I have missed. Hope you all have great weekends!
-
Hi guys, another goodish night here - yay! Ben found his appetite again today too after not eating pretty much all week. Back to two sandwiches for lunch today :)
Jared was having a few sips of water out of a sippy cup this morning! Still spits most of it out, but at least we're making progress. I've just sterilised my pump so I'm going to try him on some EBM again this afternoon. Maybe, just maybe I'll be able to leave him with DH sometime this century!!!!
Kel, I bet you're glad to have your busy week over? Bummer that your DH is going back to work though. On the bright side, a soccer GF means that it's almost all over!
Kaz, hope your puppy is okay. Is Pip unwell again too? We are finally getting over illnesses here. J woke up without a snotty nose for the first time in a week this morning.
Both my boys are asleep so I'm going to duck into the bath while I have the chance. Haven't had a nice relaxing bath in weeks!
Hi to everybody else :)
-
Grrrr...looks like Ben is allergic to penicillin!
-
Oh no DG, how did you find that out? Did he have much of a reaction?
Pip still has his snuffles, I hate hearing that phlegm on his chest.
Trev's off to the Swans game today, I've finally got him out of the house with his friends!!! YAY!!!! Am wondering if Pip will be old enough to take next season? Would love for Trev to share it with his son ...
So this arvie I'm going to take him to a kids' park!
How's it going Kris, everything settled down again?
-
Kaz, he's covered in a rash which came up on day three of ABs. I'll be taking him back to the doc tomorrow as he's still a bit off today and the rash is still there. Doesn't seem to be bothering him too much, just a bit itchy.
I don't know what Pip would be like at the footy. I won't take Ben for at least another year, but Jared is really different and seems to really enjoy all the movement at the game. Don't know what he'll be like at 18m and 2years, but right now he's not too bad to take.
Ben won't go down for a nap now. He fell asleep on the way home from the inlaws and it looks like that might be it for a nap today :( I'll persist though, he is unwell and really needs some rest.
Jared looks so big to me today! His 5 year old cousin was holding him today and it really showed me just how much of a giant that boy is!
-
Awwwww, all that mumma's gold!
Hope he gets back to sleep, I hate it when they don't settle after a nap. Pip falls asleep usually within site of the house so has less than 5 mins sleep.
-
MEl- hope Bens rash gets better.
Kel- thanks for the tip on the routine. Am trying to get her down for an hour in the am and pm....didnt work yesterday but lets see how it goes!!!
Olivia has just slept 12 hours straight...a first! pitty her sister didnt follow suit! Bec went to bed at 9, up at 11, 2, 530 for good!
Better feed them...just looked over and bec is trying to climb out of the high chair!

Hi All,
I have a quick "me" post looking for some help - Beau has woken every hour on the hour the last two nights. He says his mouth is sore but I cant get in there to look. Its not ulcers as he isnt complaining when he eats (a little). Nuerofen hasnt helped, Panadol seems to a bit. On Saturday night he couldnt talk cause he had so much drool in his mouth. What teeth are due now? He has 4 molars already. Help?:wall:
-
The back molars are the last to come. Sorry but Liv teethed them for months and wasnt a happy camper. They are really big, I just gave her bonjella or sm33 with panadol and she seemed to be ok. Hope the cut quickly for you.
Me...am procrastinating. Livs at day care, bec is asleep. I have done the washing, dishes and tidied up. I should do bottles and book work but i have been on the computer most of the day sussingout my next move in the ttc for a boy campaign!!! Shhheeeezzz I just need to get over it!
OK got to be productive!!!!
-
Jen, sorry to say that Ben was like Liv. Those second set of molars are a real bugger! Ben's seemed to take FOREVER to come through. The Nurofen was the winner for us. Sorry I can't help more, it really is an awful time.
Mel, I could always ship you one of my boys :) They're irritating me today, although they haven't really been naughty. I think it's my problem not theirs! Good luck with the TTC info.
We spent two and a half hours waiting at the docs today. Ben fell asleep on my lap he was so buggered. The man in front of us was in there for an hour and a half!!!!! Seriously, who needs to see a doctor for that long? Anyway, Ben is allergic to his AB, a synthetic version of penicillin, but he will prob be allergic to penicillin too according to the doc. Seems like his ear has cleared up enough though so we're not putting him on another course which is good. The rash has faded a lot, but he's scratching at it more now. I'm over sick kids! My shoulder is very painful today too because Ben just wants to be held. Oh well, I'll get on with it!
-
Hello ladies!
We I am TIRED today. Nothing unusual! DH had a night shift and it was a bad night. They sooo know when he's not here and play up at night. I was up every hour or two last night to one or the other. Plus I was really trying not to bring them into my bed, but it didn't last. I was so buggered by 1am I gave in. I brought Lil to bed then. And at about 3am I gave in to Li and brought him in for a feed too. I just couldn't do it. They are both waking sooo much. I'm thinking cause they just want to come into bed with us and keep waking until they do. Though Liam woke a few times after I brought him to bed still. But Lily didn't. I should just bring her in the first time she wakes, since we didn't get her into her own bed for the night. At least I'd get more sleep. I yelled at Lily already this morning cause I'm so tired. But she got into the cupboard and was trying to serve herself weetbix and milk while I was putting Liam to bed. I gave her toast which she asked for, but didn't eat. So I left it on the table for her to eat. I'm so sick of wasting food for her. But she decided she wasnted weetbix now. Brat. I'm just soo tired. Ugh, very over sleep issues. But I can't fix it alone. Aaanywaayyy...you girls have heard enough about it all!
Dis, yes soccer grand final means it's over! He lost it by the way. He was so disappointed! It's the first one they've lost in 4yrs. Oh well someone's gotta lose! We were there for hours too. I was absolutely buggered by the time it was over. 4 hours running after the monsters on my own in a huge open space and it was hot too. Lily gave me a heart attack a few times. She's such a fearless daredevil. She couldn't care less if I follow her and doesn't even take a backwards glance to see if I'm there. And she's a climber and there was a little playground there. She tries to keep up with the big kids too  I was so glad when it was over. But now we have to find something for him to do for time out! LOL.
I hope J is taking to the bottle. Just a little bit! You deserve some time out for yourself. It was about 6ish months when I started to hang for some time on my own. Having a 3hour feeding baby night and day was so hard for me, as well as having Lily and starting work too. I felt like I had someone on me 24/7. I still do some days. Maybe if he doesn't take the bottle he will take the sippy cup with EBM?
I hope B's rash is better. Lily is getting some bad spots of excema (sp!) on her for some reason. I can't figure out why...
Kaz, I hope Pip is better. Lily has a chesty cough too. It just won't go. Just when I think she's getting better it comes back. Usually after a day at childcare.
Mel, don't you hate it when one sleeps well and the other give you a ****ty night! That's usually the way it goes in my house. It's either one sleeps well and the other doesn't or they both sleep badly! I don't think there has been one night yet where they've both slept well.
Jen, hugs hun. I think it's the 2yr old molars that he's probably getting. Lily took a while to get hers too. I felt like I was giving her nurofen or panadol for weeks because of them. BUt she got hers early at about 18mths I think, or earlier. I hope Beau's come up quickly.
Hi Kris!! And anyone else I have missed.
Ok gotta go and get ready for work....Yay, not!
-
Hi all,
Kel- hope things are getting better for you. I always complain about my two not sleeping, but at least sometimes I get sleep. Dont you hate it when they play up when dh is not around to help out. It seems every time dh goes away, the girls dont sleep. I want the opposite...dh goes away, girls in bed early...me sprawl on our king size bed for at least 8 hours of unbroken sleep. Dreaming!
Hello everyone else. I have a massive headache. AF came yesterday and I felt like I have had my head in a vise all day yesterday and much of today. I did get some decent sleep last night so cant complain there. I slept from 10 til 3 then from 330 til 6ish. I did hear Becca around 5am but could get out of bed so she must have put herself back to sleep and stayed asleep til 730. Liv was up at 615!
Yesterday I reckon I ate half a block of chocolate. I so have to refocus. Sometimes I get really bad during af and eat so much crud. Not feeling the slightest bit peckish for sweets now....still early though!!!
Well, cant decide what to do taday. Dont want another day indoors as liv is going to drive me bonkers. Its cold wet and windy here so no outside:(
Must get myself some breaky....have a good day
-
Hi ladies,
Everything is a bit better here, I prised Beau's mouth open and saw the top of his 2nd bottom right molar so we have breakthrough, yay! He seems happier alhough fell over before and got his first real grazed knee as we are in full running mode and shorts weather now. I feel really tired the last week or so, am trying to do too much I think, we walked to the shops and the park this morning and moved around the outdoor room furniture on our return, beau fell asleep on the couch which he never does and has just gone for his nap now! My belly is freakin' enormous too, so hard and full, people are shocked when I say i'm not due till xmas, it must all be extra fluid, I wasnt this big with Beau at this time and I have really bad discharge/leakage (sorry tmi)! But there you go!
Dis- Sorry to hear Ben has had a reaction to the penecillin, at least it has cleared up and he doesnt have to start on another round of something else. What do they give instead? Far out your doctor needs a time limit on appointments, c'mon thats crazy 1 and half hrs! You poor thing in the waiting room with Ben, hope your shoulder is feeling better, try and rest up a bit. When Beau says "pick up" he then says "too heavy" now cause thats what I say! Shame on mummy!
Kel- Still no sleep happening round with you huh? I put Beau in bed with us on Saturday night and one night was long enough thanks, I ended up on the spare bed cause there was no room, let alone two kids! Does the sleep routines bother your DH or is he happy to keep on this way cause you are the one dealing with it? Sounds like you might have to go it on your own, I mean you are getting bugger all sleep anyway right? Please give Karitane a ring, you know better than anyone that sleep deprevation is the number one trigger for depression, so who knows how you will feel once you start getting decent sleeps? Take care x
Mel- Hope you took some nice strong Nuerofen and ate the rest of your choccie for your headache! Apart from the wind it is a beautiful day here thankfully and we have been outside all day. Hope you found something to do that doesnt include you tearing out your hair locked up with the girls.
Hi to everyone else and catch you later x
-
HAPPY BIRTHDAY KEL- hope you have a fantastic day:)
Jen am glad you saw it was his molars. Hows he going with it? Your belly sounds devine...sorry about the leakage!!! I wish I could take neurofen...am allergic to it, as well as asprin and voltarin....I get anaphilaxis...not fun, so i stick to panadol and i think it doesnt do too much. Thankfully my headache is gone but af is real heavy (soorytmi). Has been really weird since I had Becca, starts off light and like old blood, then mid af gets heavy and yuck the stops abruptly...all the wrong way around.
Bec is still sleeping crap, although I cant really complain (Kel, you make my crap sleeping kids look great!). Just feel washed out from AF. Thinking of changing bec o forward facing in the car, but a bit hesitant. She sits up all the tim and arches her back now when I put her in. The only thing i dont like is she sleeps alot in the car so her head will flop down. AH I dont know!!!
Am feeling really comfortable and in a good place with the girls (even though I do have a winge now and then). So this morning I sat and daydreamed about what it would be like with a third. I just cant imagine it!!!!
Enough of me...got to go do the books while the girls are at care for 3 hours.

Hi!
Gosh, I'm a a shocker at keeping up at the moment...don't have much energy for much at all to be honest!!!
We're all well - I've just been tired but that's to be expected!! Boys are well...Ethans slept through probably every night this last weel - OMG - never had that before! Although Dylans making up for it by waking up a lot - he's refusing day sleeps most days (although he's having one now) and waking up earlier each morning..we made him cry this morning because there is not way he's getting up at 5.45am!!!! Ridiculous!! It's just not going to happen in this house!! LOL!
All is good with Michael and I!! I went out on the Fri night for dinner and it was so good to be heading out of the house! The next morning he let me sleep in and gave me a massage and brought me brekky in bed!! So spoilt!! Things have been fine since then - I think a lot of it was just my hormones and tiredness and his tiredness as well! LOL...it happens sometimes!!
Happy Birthday Kel!! I hope you have a wonderful day!! (and the kids give you lots of sleep!)
Mel - Sorry to hear you've had a bad af...Sorry to hear Becca is sleeping bad...Ethan's been forward facing for about a month now...but he really loves to sit up - I think he would be so frustrated to lie on his back now so I just go with what you feel comfortable. He falls asleep in there but his head surprisingly doesn't fall forward too often...when we had our big drive to bonnie (and michael was driving) I just lent back and pushed it back - LOL!!!!
LOL at daydreaming about having 3!! I think the biggest thing you can't predict is what they're personalities and temperaments will be like - that makes all the difference I think!! Ethan was a very difficult baby so having 2 older boys that could occupy themselves and didn't get into too much mischief was really great...now he's settled down and is really cruisy it's a lot easier...but who know's??? I've had 3 completely different kids - Dylan chucked all the time but I could put him down and he was happy - and he also would put himself to sleep (not he's my worst sleeper!) Louis was a horror to learn to self settle now he's probably my best sleeper - LOL! Ethan was my hardest baby - now he's cruisy and sleeping through the night!! The miracle of creating these little beings is so fantastic!!!
Jen - Wow on having a bit tummy already!! Hmm...the leakage doesn't sound to great - have you spoken to your dr??
Hmm...all of this talk with molars I'm thinking it might be worth checking Dylans out after last nights episode of sleeping!
Dis - You poor thing having to wait at the dr's! I'm allergic to penicillin - apparently I got a rash when I was little and have not had it since - they always have an alternative!! I've never had any problems!
Kaz - Hope you're well...
Ok...well it was a mini catch up - will chat later...xo
-
Hi ladies,
Such gorgeous weather here today and I have both boys down at the same time (!!!!?!?!?!) so I'm going to duck out into the sun to read for a bit soon. This will just be a short one. :)
Kris, Brekky in bed? Lucky you! Sounds like you had a really nice night and morning.
Mel, we still have Jared rear-facing, but we're turning him this weekend if we get the time. He's such a huge chunk of a child that his feet are touching the back seat and he looks totally squished in at the moment. He also screams bloody murder if we take him in the car when it's dark and I think it's because he can't see what's going on. He sits up totally by himself now so he has the head and neck control, but I'd still like to have had him facing back for a wee bit longer. He's just too big!
Happy daydreaming!
Jen, I thought about going from pantyliners to pads when I was pg with Jared, so I hear you on the discharge. It's so gross isn't it?
Hi Kel and Kaz! :)
Right, out to the sunshine with some choccy biccies (so totally have given up on weight loss) and a book! :)
-
Hi!
Dis - Ooh I'm very envious of you heading out in the sun! Although it is quite a nice day today I could not get my 2 big boys to sleep and Ethan only had an hour and has woken up soooo cranky!!!!!! He hasn't done that for a long time...Wow at Jared being ready to sit forward!! Enjoy your bikkies!
I've had such a shocker of a day with them that I actually can't wait for Michael to get home so I can go food shopping! LOL!
This is my main worry about being p/g again...I so wanted to be past these yucko tired feelings and getting my energy back so that I can be a great mum for them...I'm so not the mum I want to be right now! I'm actually thinking that's why they're playing up as well...kids sense this stuff...I feel like I've been telling them off constantly all day and it's just so draining...this just isn't normal for us...
Anyway...I can see this is all p/g hormones for me and it's CRAP! Why on earth does p/g do this to us??? As if the rest of it isn't enough to cope with - LOL!
Boys have been sneezing today and watery eyes...looks like they're getting sick again...hopefully it will just be a sniffle and nothing more...
What's everyone up to for the weekend?? Not much for us tomorrow but Sun I'm taking Louis & Dylan to watch their cousin play a football grandfinal (will be their first game to watch!) and then off to a friends for lunch!
Chat later!
-
Mel hope you had fun in the sun
Kris hugs...if you need anything dont hesitat to call. Am happy to watch the boys while you go shop...its not like youre going to be gone all day so I could manage a few hours with them and my chickies!!!
I just turned becs seat around and sat it next to Olivia...I hope it works out otherwise I will have to seperate them!!
Ok got to cook something
