Yay, got Jared down for a little sleep before swimming. Last week he didn't have a sleep in the morning and was in a daze for the whole lesson.
Kris, how does Dylan got at the Learning Eggs? I saw the books at the Newsagent yesterday and they look really good. I know they are supposed to be for 4+, but I think Ben would enjoy at least the first level. He knows all his letters and numbers (at Woolies the other day he was sitting outside reading W-O-O-L-W-O-R-T-H-S much to the amusement of passers-by). The packs are $20 each so I think I might just buy the first level and see how he goes. If he doesn't like it, it's not a great deal lost. You also get a 14-day free trial of the website with each pack you buy. I'm just looking for new ways to keep him amused! He drives me nuts sometimes - yesterday he told me I was going the wrong way to the duck park and the proceeded to tell me which way to drive, and he tells me what ingredients to use when baking and cooking. Very bossy!
We had a yo-yo night last night. I was up every hour, except for once when J managed to sleep for almost two hours. It was horrible! I don't know what is up with him at the moment, but I miss sleep! We've had a busy week this week so that might have something to do with it. Yesterday we spent the morning at the park feeding the ducks and then the rest of the day at my SIL's so Ben could have a play with his cousin. The boys both missed naps because of it so that might be why J had a bad night. Ben, however, slept for 11 hours, which was fantastic! J was terrible last night too when I went to netball. DH said he cried non-stop for half an hour - very unlike him. At least we won netball - 37-1!!!!!
I now have to go and psych myself up for swimming lessons!!!

Hi girls, I'm still around.
I have my nieces today and last nite - oh my I have never seen my house such a destruction zone. One is 5 who luke loves following around, has since day dot and the other is 2 1/4, she's 3 months younger than luke. Love them to death but oh my I am tired....
Mel - yay on winning tickets to the wiggles. Luke's nanna (mark's mum) is taking luke to the wiggles - so one that i get out of but mark wants to take him to the thomas the tank engine show...i guess it's never ending from here on in.
Not much else happening here - just plodding along. Hope all our lil ones are doing great and so are all you lovely ladies
-
Sounds busy Iona...something I am looking forward to! Are you going into the ttc thread much? I dont think I can do it this time around. The girls are agonising over every single thing they do, every symptom. It just makes things more complex. So I am out of there...might pop in but cant do it all the time.
However in saying they are complex this swaying for a boy is something else! I drink lemon juice, grapefruit juice, robitussin, take epo, will be doing opks and check my cm all the time! I have never eaten so many bananas in my life and tomato sauce on everything...salt yuck, but doing it! I have been pretty good...seeing its our last go! The only thing I refuse to do flat out is stick things in me to make my environment more alkaline.....its all very intense!!!
Mel- I had a quick squiz at the reading eggs and it looks great...will wait for Kris to comment though. Hope you had a better sleep.
Kel- i saw that Lil is sick again. Its been a horrible winter period for it. Hope you got some sleep though.
I am in a bad mood this morning, but feeling better after my coffee and a surf. I am just over Olivia hurting her sister, screaming and being defiant. I need a break. DH is working tomorrow, then next week he has a whole day buck thing, then the following weekend is going to the moto gp at philip island, then the melbourne cup weekend is a Boys weekend, then he has to go to his grandfathers farm in Maldon to lay a slab of concrete for a suprise 80th bday present. So not much time for me coming up! Thankfully the occassional care starts up on monday and I will have a few hours to myself...luckily Olivia is looking forward to that!
Oh did i mention we had a drafts man come over to look at our house....i think we will be building in the next few months...if not after the new year! Better go!
-
Mel - I don't pop into the TTC much, just follow it...your right how it's not the same as when we were in there!! Not sure what it is about it but I just don't feel at home with it. My lil sis is pregnant with her third (it was an accident) but it's another girl, so she will have 3 girls. I don't think her hubby was too impressed, he wanted a boy but you can't help these things.
Can understand the bad mood thing - I think mine is PMS but yesterday Mark rings just after 12 - hello i have 3 kids here that want fed. I can't look up accommodation for you right now!! and than today he rings and blames me that he has misplaced his license...
So glad he's going away for 5 days for work while I'm PMSing, might be the best thing!!
Well ladies, it's friday and my 1 week holiday from uni is basically finished and I didn't do much. Hope you all have a great weekend!!
-
Hi!
Kel - LOL at LIly at the play centre with just her undies on!! You poor thing getting so anxious driving to your friends house!! But you did it which is great - it will be easier next time now!!
Bugger on the early mornings...Hopefully daylight savings make a difference to the kids (all of our kids - LOL!
I'm with you on getting out and about now...I used to be non-stop with Louis and Dylan but now that I've had Ethan and we've moved I don't do much at all. Part of that's financial, part is because I can't take them to activities because I don't have people over here to watch the boys and the part is because I can't be stuffed! LOL! Ethan doesn't like the pram though so to go shopping is always hit and miss because he can very easily crack it and want to be held and when I'm there with the 3 it's just to hard. And now I'm going to have another one - I think I'll be a super hermit next year!!!! Over winter won't matter so much I suppose...Also, in those early months I don't really go out on my own because I bf...I had mum promise all this stuff for next year but now she's moving an hour away in the opposite direction of everything so I can't see me heading all the way to her house and back again for a bit of peace and quiet - also....anyway...enough of my whinghing! LOL! Good on your for doing what you can though!!
Mel - Yeah on the wiggles tickets!!! That's great! I'm sure it will be fine saying she's not 1 yet! Poor Becca getting hurt...it must get draining watching them all the time...
Omg on doing all that for making a boy...I hope you get one!!! If you have another girl and I have another boy we'll just swap - LOL (just joking!!)
Wow on your dh being so busy coming up - that's no good...Michael has one weekend in Oct he'll be away for 4 days for a work getaway thing which I'm not looking forward to.
Yeah at starting your house extension soon - how exciting!!!!!
Jen - Louis used to be a little like Beau - I was also worried that he would be the bullied kid at school...even though he's still quite sensitive having younger siblings to hassle him has definitely hardened him up! LOL! It's a fine line though because you don't want them to become like those other kids but you want them to be able to stand up for themselves!! He's only young still - he'll learn alot in the next year or 2 - especially when he starts kinder...
Disgirl - That's great you've got Ben using "stop" we've taught Louis that as well. Even Dylan now if he sees someone do something they shouldn't will tell they're being naughty! LOL - very cute!! Ben sounds very clever!! Yep - I would get the first set and give the 2 week trial a go - Dylan can do the first 2 lessons on his own and we haven't got much further than that - although in saying that he was helping Louis with level 78 the other day doing the dot to dot!! There will be some things he can do on his own and some things he'll need your help with. It's mostly getting used of the mouse to start with - Dylan was using to hand a couple of weeks ago and now he can do it with 1 little hand!! I'm very impressed with both my boys!! Louis has completed all 80 lessons now!!! We're going to start incorporating the readers and the activity books now and start them all over again!! I think for someone like Ben who is obviously picking up on all that stuff already (sounds like Louis at the same age!) then he will LOVE it!!
If you log on to the website I think they have a free trial though so that would be worth signing up for!! That's what I did initially and I only just started paying for it...
Sorry to hear Jareds not sleeping well...Yeah at winning Netball!
Iona - LOL at your destruction zone!! Welcome to my house everyday - LOL!!! That's great you've got family that want to take them to those events!!!
As for us...Dylan seems to be sleeping every second day or so which is a big improvement...he didn't sleep yesterday again though and fell asleep at dinner again...we have to watch him though cos he' sits on the big chair and nearly falls off! LOL! Louis got up quietly this morning though and he slept in until 8am!! Woohoo!! I actually got a sleep until 7.30am this morning solid from about 11.30am last night!! Yeah!!
Ethan has been sleeping through from 7-8pm until 6.30-7.30am for the last 2-3 months without exception - even through 4 teeth so I"m completely amazed!!!! It's so nice!! And MIchael gets up to the 2 older boys so a lot of nights I have a solid sleep - I was starting to feel guilty for Michael getting up and then I remembered I have to do it ALL OVER AGAIN very soon! LOL!! So I"m going to make the most of my solid sleeps while I can!!
Hmm...a few hours later I've just found this sitting here - hate to be vague and not post - LOL!! Just had to clean up Dylans poo from all over the floor!! GRRR! He so knows he needs to go to the toilet but it to lazy or gets to involved with what he's doing - drives me crazy!!!

Hi all,
Well today has not gotten off to a great start...thinking it's going to be a not so great day. I don't think I got more than an hours sleep at a atime last night. Both Lil and Li woke, one after the other. Soooo tired. DH was on a night shift and is again tonight too. Just feeling so washed out. Hating the monotony. This place is a MESS and has been for about a week, but I just so don't want to clean it. I want to do something for me, but with a friend or better yet, DH. But that ain't gonna happen anytime soon. I don't want to be here on my own, but have no money to go out with the kids anywhere and I've called a couple of friends but they're busy. Just feeling sorry for myself and at a loss. So over it today. I just want to laugh and have a fun day. I'm sick of feeling so horrible. My back is killing me cause AF is comeing and I have been carrying BOTH the kids up and down the stairs the last few days, at the same time. Cause Lily is sick and Liam can't walk up/down them yet. I feel guilty cause I'm already snapping at the kids and they're already bored. God how having no sleep changes me. I hate it :(
-
OMG, I just realised I haven't changed the kids nappies and they've been up since 5.45am. How slack am I???????????????????
-
Hi!
Kel - You poor bugger...sleep deprivation changes everyone!! I've been grumpy with my kids this morning and I had a solid sleep, so I've got no excuses - LOL! I can't imagine how hard it is for you to be on your own so much with dh's work...that's a lot of extra pressure!! Don't be too hard on yourself - have a slack day and don't stress about the house - you can always do it tomorrow or when you feel you have an energy spike...
It's also not going to be helping that af is on it's way...just to add to it all!
I can relate to just wanting to smile and laugh - I at times also wonder where my lightheartedness has gone lately - I hate that feeling when you feel you couldn't smile even if you wanted too...It's an underlying feeling that is hard to change...sometimes it can feel like the weight of the world is on our shoulders and we're going to be in this moment forever but there will come a time where we can have our lives back (even just a little) I look at my sister now who can head down the street to do her food shopping and leave her kids at home (they're 10 and 12 but she's been doing it for the last year or so), she can go for a walk on her own etc Oh how nice that would be - and it will happen. And much before that they'll be at school and kinder so we will have glimpses of time again...
I have told dh that I won't be in a rush back to work the first year the kids are all at primary school - I'm going to enjoy having some time to relax and have peace and quiet - I'm actually very lucky - dh's mum was a stay at home mum until he was about 10 so it doesn't bother him that I'm at home...he is very supportive of whatever I want to do and for some reason I've always rathered do my own thing than just have a "job" - like my dance school and now wanting to do life coaching...I guess I watched my mum and dad work their butts off (literally - probaby 50-60+ hours a week) only to have have the family fall apart, lose everything and have to start from scratch financially again - no amount of money is worth that in my opinion...
Ok...sorry have turned it all about me! Just wanted to let you know that I relate to how you're feeling to a degree...
Quiet weekend here for us - Michael is working both days for a mate and I've woken up with a crappy headache that panadol has done nothing for...grrr...

Thanks Kris  :)
I know what you mean and I know these feelings, our situation is temporary. I just feel like I'm not me and I haven't laughed or been fun or funny, whistful, spur of the moment, whimsical for sooo long....kwim? So much responsibility, seriousness, monotony, routine. Same old same old. Even when we do do something different, it's still 'eat sleep feed clean' for some of the time.
You're luck that you have the choice to be home for some of the time. I so wish I could. By the time we will be able to afford it, the kids will be in school! DH is adamant that I will go back to work full time then, but I'm not so sure about that. I want to have time to do things I don't want to feel like this when I don't have to. I feel rushed, always needing to do something for someone else with no time to do it in. Always forgetting stuff cause my mind is so cluttered. So disorganised and I'm not usually a disoganised person.
Ok gotta go the kids are killing each other...
-
Kel - we won't be able to afford for me to be home but I will anyway...we can't afford for me to be home now! LOL! Our m/g payment takes up over half of dh's wages let alone food and bills and fuel! We've just racked up our credit card again and I'm sure it will go higher before christmas! With the new baby coming along next year I desperately need a new fridge (ours is only 300 and something litre) and with having to buy a new car....crazy! Having said that - I definitely wouldn't earn enough working now to pay for 4 kids in child care- LOL!!!
Everyone's circumstances are different and I can defnitely see that doing some work would be beneficial for a lot of people to have a break from home and the kids and feel like a real person not just a mum!!
I was reading that catriona rowntree (from tv) had a babymoon after having her new baby in Qld and stayed somewhere beautiful with her mum and sister (or something) and was having facials and pedicures and they were all looking after bubs - wouldn't that be nice???? What money could buy as a mother- babysitters, pampering for us! I'm sure if someone whisked me away to a day spa today to be spoilt I'd be a better mum tomorrow - LOL!!!!! hehehehehe.
All us "real mums" can do is take it a day at a time and make the most of any little things we can do for ourselves...a bath, massages from our husband, at home facials...jumping into bed early to read a book (not on parenting!!) and my favourite - daydreaming about the future!!!! I have big plans and sometimes can get frustrated as I feel like I'm on hold having this bubba - although I feel very grateful to be having it and that everything is going well it is hard after 5 years of being p/g and bfing without a break to be going back again! LOL!!
Ok...enough of my dribble (I think it's a bit of therapy for myself writing all this down!!) Chat later!
-
Woah its quiet around here......it is windy as all get out here so we are indoors today!
Been dropping in to read but have been doing practice Drivers Licence tests when I have a spare minute on the computer. Have my pre-gestational diabetes test tomorrow, because Beau was big it is even longer than normal...oi! DH is having the day off to care for B, had my lactation consultation yesterday at the hospital too, which Beau came to and was very well behaved eating and playing with cars:D She was kind helpful I guess, just giving me the number of the local branch of the aba and talking about preparation etc. Its really the mechanics of BF'ing I need help with which is when the bub is here LOL! She reccommended a 4hr seminar on BFing, but I'm not sure if thats the help I need IYKWIM???? I was concerned too seeing as though I will prob have the baby around the 18th Dec, is anyone going to be around to help by the time I get home??
Beau is ok, really snotty for the last week which is a teething cold for sure. we are having a social weekend so I hope he is ok for it.
Anyway, hope everyone is ok and feeling good....and drops in to chat!
-
good luck at your pre-gestational test tomorrow Jen.
Not much to report here but with all the dust storms we have had, Luke has a nose, ear, throat and a lil eye infection!!! Plus it doesn't help that the day after we had the first dust storm, behind across the road they decided to start leveling out the ground and digging the dam/lake bigger!!! So more dust continuously.
Would love to do personals but heading out the door.
Chat to you all soon!!
-
Yep tis quiet in here....
good luck tomorrow. Is interesting to see what you got out of the lc prior to giving birth. I hope it works out for you though...i am on the count down til becs 1st birthday and no more formula!
We have had a hard few nights. Rebecca is doing the same thing Liv used to do and stay awake for ages! She did 11pm til 4am then last night was 11 til 130a,m, followed by liv up at 230. I am so tired. I can see a tooth coming through, so am hoping this will settle soon.
Hope everyone is well
-
Hi girls,
I'm around, just busy this week. And tired, and feeling yuck...af is here, so well, I'm sure you all know 'that' feeling, bleugh!
Working extra days and DH has been home so just doing things together, nothing special. Everyone is good. Though Lily has another ear infection. She is on ab's and I have to take her back to the doc when they are finished. Poor monkey.
Now I'm sooo cold and I'm going to have a bath. The weather in Sydney is ridiculous! Hope everyone is well.
-
Hi all...must be quick, as I have been trying to post in here for the past few days. Things seem to be looking up a little after the horrid few weeks we have had with illness, Olivias tantrum and Rebeccas refusal to sleep between the hours of 11pm and 4 am. Olivia is doing well with no nappy, still no undies. I have occassionall care on board with me to help me out on the 8 hours shes there over the week. Just means I dont have to wait til holidays to properly train her. Anyone doing night traing as well? Becs cutting another tooth...its horrid, shes full of snot clingy and doesnt sleep., shes cruising the furniture and holding on to things with one hand. I cant believe shes nearly 1! We are still ttc despite me having a meltdown last week and totally loosing it at Olivia.....I just need to breath! Am waiting to ovulate....seesms so clinical! My cycles are longer now so should be oing soon....within 2 to 3 days. Just need to time it right. I feel like i am about to i have heavey pains. Maybe baby has me ferning but my opk says negative!!!! OOOhhhh! I was getting so excited!
Ok better go, got a million and one things to do before I go pick up Liv....hope you are fantastically well:)
-
Hey All,
Havnt been around much, we went up the blue mountains to my mums for the weekend for my brothers 40th and I got really sick, been to the doctors last night and I have bronchitis, so I have antibiotics and a puffer. No sleep, I begged DH to stay home this morning at 5am so he did and I had my midwife appt (no pg diabetes yay).
Um, got my L's on Friday too:p
Anyway hi to everyone, hope you are all better than me xxx
-
Yay Jen!!! Congrats on getting your L's! And on the no GD too!!!
How are you feeling now? We've had a nightmare fortnight with illness too.
Take it easy, it's hard enough breathing when you're pg, and that's without bronchitis!
Mel, good luck with TTC this week. Sounds like a few of us have had horror runs lately. I wonder how much of it has to do with the weather. We're still not trying to TT Ben just yet. He's been so sick this past week that it hasn't even crossed my mind. When we're back from hols I think I'll get into it properly.
Kel, Hope Lil is feeling better. It's been such a bad time for the kids and sickness. I blame the change in weather.
Hi everybody else!
Well as I mentioned, we've had a horror run. Jared had teething issues and a mystery illness last week and just at the end of the week Ben got croup. It is the most awful thing I've ever seen. Gasping for breath and not able to stop coughing. He just kept saying "Mummy!" which broke my heart every time. I hate feeling so helpless. :( Anyway, he's doing much better today and has even been eating again, which is a big improvement.
I"m now getting a cold, which I could really do without!
I had my Intimo party on the weekend and it was really good. I signed up as a consultant so in my very few spare moments over the past few days, I've been trying to get a bit organised in regards to that. The company requires all new consultants to have 8 bookings in their first three weeks, which is a bit insane, but I understand why they do it. You have to have them lined up before they sign you up and send you all your gear, so I'm trying to do that. It's pretty hard, especially since most people haven't even heard of Intimo before. I'm sure I'll manage though, I've got five lined up, but the next three are going to be tricky. Anybody want a party  If only you all lived closer I'd talk you into it  It's a good excuse to get together with a bunch of girlfriends over a bottle of wine and I think we all could use that right now!!!
Oops, there I go again! I'm so excited about it all I ramble on about it at every opportunity! Sorry about that!
Hope you're all doing better!!!
-
Hey Jen congrats on your ls and also on the gd results
mel- it has been terrible over the past few weeks. Livs had me in tears, I hate having sick kids, and bec has a bad cold now. TT is going ok. She had a good test today as we went to the indoor play centre. She wet herself once and I also had to change a dribble! But all in all shes doing well.
As for ttc....well i still dont have a positive opk yet and dh is going away for the weekend tomorrow night. I am on cd19, so if i o while hes away...he is in big trouble!!!
I have no idea what to do for dinner! Mince...... got to google it!
