Misty - I'm so glad Baz is sleeping better!!! You will find that he just keeps improving :). I've been wondering how you've been getting on, thanks for letting me know! I'm sorry you are going through a rough time atm :hug:.

I hope everyone had a lovely Mother's Day! I had a busy day, I went out for brekky with my little family (to Maccas LOL), then had lunch at MIL's then visited my Mum. Alana was over it by the end of the day the poor thing. She is going well though, she's almost at cruising stage now which is scaring me! She's very happy and chatty. She tries to copy sounds that we make. She can say "Dad", "Nan"," Bub", " 'ello" (while waving heehee) and "Yes", but she still can't say Mum :doh:. I can't believe how fast she is growing up, our babies will all be turning one before we know it :o.

Hi Everyone, remember me? LOL
I have had a quick browse over the thread - we are quite the chatterboxes aren't we. It's great to have the support of other Mum's with babies of same age. I have a lot to catch up on! I hope that you all had a lovely Mother's Day. Miss Z and I are still at my parents place in Queensland - 4 wks this weekend, time flies huh. I don't want to go back home but will probably have to go back in 2.5wks time.
Yaay to all the clever babies reaching so many developmental milestones. Crawling, standing, chatting - just amazing isn't it. The night we flew out we landed for our first stop and she started saying "dad dad dad" couldn't believe it. That was adding to her bub, mum (and recognising that I'm mum), la and luv - I was trying hard with Love so she could say it to anyone and it would be cute. She is also saying nan and what we think is an interpretation of grand dad and woof woof. When she is hungry or wants more/different food she kind of cups her hands and sweeps them towards her saying meh meh meh haha it's soo cute.
The day after we arrived she crawled just twice. But the following day she was off and hasn't looked back. She is pulling up on things - only if she can get a good grip. Standing on all fours (with arms and legs extended) while playing over things is her latest favourite. Nappy time is getting harder and harder to keep her in position.
Teeth are being a nightmare and had her to the local hospital the other night as temps of 38.5 even with panadol were persisting. They gave us a script for antibiotics to fill only if she got a productive cough, which she has :( It's horrible when they're trying to cough up so much mucous and her tonsils are red. I told her there was no need to be generous and share with me but she refused and insisted that mum be sick too. Nappy rash is horrid, I'm guessing because of all the mucous, antibiotics, panadol and teeth??
I you are all well and will endevour to catch up on all the activity over the last month. xx

Ellee - Miss Z is quite the chatterbox. M only says dada and not even all that often. She makes heaps of noise but none of it recognisable. One cute thing M does is copy the dogs barking. When they bark she makes a noise too. Our dogs bark a lot LOL.
Trish - howdy stranger!
Think we have more teeth coming through. There's a white spot on her lower gum. Also a lot of ear pulling and restless sleep!

Sorry I havent had time to read through the latest posts, so im afraid this is just an 'us' update, ill get around to reading them later, when lochie is asleep (im currently waiting for his lunch to cool down - lentil and cheesy bake...YUM!)
Anyway, we have baby sleeping through...YAY! He has done it for almost 2 weeks now, so we are stocked! He goes to bed at 7pm (seems to be the trick!) and wakes at 6am (yes, very early, but we get heaps done if we get up at this time!). Its amazing! The new routine is working wonderfully, im so happy. Of course, I know things can change so quickly with little ones, and im almost certain there are new teeth about to appear, so I dare say we have a few restless nights ahead, but thats cool, thats babies!
Will bbl, lochie going batty over here!

I have been a bit unwell lately, and am very tired because of it. Unfortunately, as you would all know, there is no rest when you have young children. Oh well, I seem to be on the mend, just exhausted is all.

misty - sorry to hear that you are sick :cold: Hope you get better soon.
Had the afternoon off because M was sent home with a runny nappy. She hasn't had a dirty nappy since so I don't think there was anything wrong with her. I can appreciate that they need to control infections but sometimes I wonder if they do overreact. DS was sent home on Monday with vomitting so there is something going around.
Nothing much happening. M is crawling really quickly and pulling herself up on everything. There have been a few seconds of solo standing.

Hi ladies,
To all those who are sick and/or have sick babies/children....GET WELL SOON!!!! We have not escaped the illnesses over here, Lochie is sick with temps, runny nose, bright red cheeks (teething) etc etc. Im sure another tooth is about to appear at any moment.
Lochie is now standing on his own! Mum caught him standing (without leaning on or touching the window) at the back window today holding a toy in each hand. She reckons he did it for about 1min. Then my Dad called out, 'hey look at this, he's standing on his own!'. I looked around and sure enough he was standing next to the coffee table with a toy in each hand again...just standing there, looking around. I managed to catch that one, after being at work all day. Yes, I started teaching today, my first time ever! Just relieving for now, but it felt great!!!!! Im working again tomorrow. So, thats our 'developmental' news for the week. Im sure he'll be walking in no time at all....gosh i dont think im ready for that yet! Apart from that, he's off his food, only eats brekky at the moment, but has his 4 bottles. Im going to give him a top up feed before I go to bed tonight, because he didnt eat today. Sleeping is still going great, bed at 7pm up at 6:30am (although this morning was 5:30am!) Sometimes I have to go in at around 2am to pop the dummy in, but then he's back to sleep till morn. Not sure if this will continue tonight, just cause he is so unwell, and hasnt eaten. Poor little fella!

Hello everyone,
Sorry I've been so slack but have had a terrible time with Moo lately! His sleep has just gone downhill & every night is worse than the one before. I don't know if its teething, separation anxiety or just a phase he's going through - he just screams & cries through the night. I'm up 3 or 4 times each night with him for up to an hour each time! Feeding doesn't calm him down , I mean it helps but it doesn't stop it all the time. So am tearing my hair out & don't know what to do anymore! My DH is now on night shift for 3 nights so will probably just keep doing what I'm doing until I can have some support to make some changes next week :dunno:
Other than that Moo has had pretty bad separation anxiety in general over the last few weeks! I can't leave the room or he freaks out & comes after me. He hates DH doing anything for him lately too - it's all about Mum :rolleyes:
But on the other hand he's now saying "woof" & "mum", has about 6 teeth I think, is crusing along furniture & is a little daredevil, oh & obsessed with our cats!

Cheezel - sorry to hear Moo is upset. Makes it very hard when you don't know how to make it better. Hopefully you can get some rest. Do you think co-sleeping would help him? Then again it might not be a routine you want to introduce.
Issy - congratulations on getting work. Must feel really good to put your studies to use. Congrats to L for standing. Now he just needs to lose the toys as a counterbalance.

Issy - Lochie is so clever standing for such a long time! So cute! I hope he feels better soon, lots of hugs...
Chezel - Eli is exactly the same with our cat LOL! 6 teeth here too! I hope moo settles for you soon, it must be extremely tiring and distressing for you hun. Eli is up 2-3 times, but just has a quick feed and sleeps again (as he co-sleeps ATM( so I don;t get too tired. I may have missed it in your post , but does Moo co-sleep? or has something major changed in his routine? Wishing it all settles soon :hug:

Trish - so cute...she says 'ello'! Eli mainly says mum, mumma and dad dad dad... that is about it ATM.
AFU - Eli is as cheeky as they come! He has just discovered biting, although he cries when you tell him 'no' so I think he understands it is not on ;). We'll get there. He is super fast at crawling and can balance a little by himself. Keeping me busy that is for sure! Must go as I have work tomorrow! Hope everyone is well, Rach xx

We've been MIA recently too - mostly cos our laptop died :( We've now pilfered Dp's mum's computer as a temporary measure so we're back in the land of the living :p
Also had a round of illness too - I'm on some strong immune herb concoction now cos I was getting a cold every 3rd week for the last 4 months!
Congrats to all the babies crawling and standing :clap: Orla is also pulling herself on things and can stand unaided for about 2 seconds before landing back on her bum. No more teeth yet - still sporting a lonely 2 bottom pearlies.
Must go back and read these recipes - I'm running outa ideas here!

Ellee - Join the club on the nightmare nappy time. We usually have to chase Lochie around the lounge room floor, and the change table is becoming a nightmare too.....argggghhh! Hope you and bubs are on the mend.
Saffi - Thankyou, working is going great, Im really loving it. Its nice to have something different to do each day and although I miss my litte man, the time apart is good for both of us. So, any more teeth yet for your bub? Did they come through? Still no more for us, just the 2 for now.
Cheezelmonster - I hear the separation anxiety is pretty normal for this age, although it doesnt make it any easier when they are continually following you around, hanging off your legs, or crying for you, and only YOU can fix it....oh dear! Lochie gets particularly bad around dinner time, just when I need my space in the kitchen, and has just started crying when DH comes home, says hello then walks to the bedroom to get changed. The poor little fella cries till he comes back - breaks his heart to think Daddy is leaving again.
Rach - Miss you heaps hun (and Eli, of course!). Lochie is a biter too, but does it when he's angry! He bites furniture, Isaac (alot!) me and himself...sooooo naughty! Cant wait to see you again...xxxx
Koru - Hope you are feeling better, and the may the dreaded cold/flu stay away!!!!!!! YOu poor thing....

AFU - Lochie is practising standing on his own more and more. He has even taken a few steps this week, about 2 steps at a time on his own, before launching himself at the nearest piece of furniture, person or wall! He is babbling a lot more, and says Mumma (clear as a bell), mummy and mum (a few variations of this one!), Da, isss (perhaps the beginning of Isaac...not sure) and bubba. He is also copying us a lot more, like poking out his tongue when we do (in the most hilarious way, I must get it on video), putting both hands on his head when we say Uh-Oh, and shaking his hands when we sing the dingle dangle scarecrow. He is so much fun at the moment, I love this age.

Hey girls - Sounds like everyone / bubs are doing well! Sorry to those that are sick! It is the horrible weather for it! Keep your fluids up and keep warm hope your all feeling better soon!
Not much has been happening here... Eli is runnning around like a mad hatter! She's just so full of life and crazy! It's awesome to watch, but I am wanting to know hwere my baby has gone! She can say so many different words and issss sooo cheeky hehe. I am so behind in uni ork... Which i am ment to be doing right now, but i just can't get into it!

Had just started typing and realised that I was supposed to be at preschool picking up the girl.
I have been sick (again - it's a never ending thing with me) this time withsuspected food poisioning, or possibly just extremely bad gastro. I couldn't even get out of bed, so dH had to ring up my boss and tell her I couldn't work (I couldn't deal with her trying to talk me into working regardless, or finding my own replacement - that is what she always does to anyone else; I have never had a day off due to illness before either). I might be chicken, but it was much better that way, she started to tell DH that it wasn't her problem, so he cut her off and told her it wasn't his either and that I wouldn't be in. And what do you know, they world didn't collapse because of my absence and she managed to find others to fill in for me. DH my hero. Funny how he can do a better job standing up for me then I can.
Anyway I am better now (mostly) and back to work saturday morning.
Baz is such a chubby little gremlin. He is becoming a real little toddler rather then just a baby. He is sooo cheeky too, and will actually intigate fights with his big brother and throws temper tantrums when he doesn't get his own way. All amusing now, but I can see he is going to be a handful. He is such a fabulous sleeper now, sleeps through every night :) (yes I'm gloating :P I have too, my 2.5yr old is still the worlds worst sleeper and wakes us up continually :lol: )

misty - glad that you are feeling better now. Gastro's not fun. I had to laugh about Baz picking fights. I can just imagine how he's going to be once he really starts moving.

How much do the girls weigh now? M is a whopping 10 kg!!!! She's pretty much all in 0 and I think if I tried she'd fit into some 1s.
We are getting better with finger food. DC sent a note home the other week suggesting that I might like to try her on some. So far she's had cruskits with vegemite, a cheese stick, and some vegemite toast. Has anyone tried their bub on egg yolk yet?
Got to go and put some clothes out. This will be the third load today. Run out of pegs and line space :wall:

Saffi - 10kg huh?? Wow, D isn't much bigger now at 11.5kg. I've given D eggs (whites and yolks) twice now, no drama. I'm following the more recent advice of not delaying foods for too long. So far, so good.
Misty - I wanna know how you got him sleeping through?! D is very sick atm, but once he's better DH and I have decided to really try to get him to sleep through.
Hi to everyone else. Had a horrid week here, all three kids sick, D is still quite unwell but is on Abs now so hopefully he'll be better in the next few days. But I think I'm getting it now :wall:

Willow - Just wanted to say goodluck with the sleeping issue. We decided we had to try and get lochie into better sleeping habits. He was always such a great sleeper, then at about 5 months, it started to go down hill. I left it till 7 1/2 months, then decided he really needed to learn to sleep, more than 3 hours at a time (which is where it was heading!). It was the best thing we ever did! Now Lochie (when he's not miserably sick) sleeps through every night, 7pm till 6am. We had to teach him to settle laying down in his own bed, without feeding or rocking. It was a week long process, but we got there in the end. So, GOODLUCK hun.
