Hi Hannah - you poor thing, wonder what is causing her vomiting, is it reflux? What do the doctors say? You sound like you're coping well considering, you're such a trooper and you have a great attitude. Hope it gets better for you really soon which I'm positive it will, probably another Wonder Week! That book is awesome and they are going through one at the moment Week 12 so they go all funny again. Amelia chops and changes her sleeping too don't worry, some days she sleeps right through, others she wakes, but I just put the dummy in and she goes back to sleep thank goodness.

AFM - Amelia's started trying to blow raspberries, it's just the cutest thing ever and today I got my first giggle, melted my heart to say the least! I'm hanging out for her to do it again now!

I went to the mums and bubs movies today with my aqua friends and saw Valentine's Day, gosh it was great, only about 20 people in the cinema and Amelia just fed and slept, no dramas. Highly recommend it girls and it was only $8.00 too! The movie itself was great too, lovely chick flick.

Hi Beany - have we heard anymore about catching up with Tilda? I bought the Laugh and Learn Puppy you have for Michael today, it's so cute huh - good price too I thought, $40.00. Hopefully Amelia will like it.

[Tuesday's Child]

Hi Alison. Don't you just love those first giggles? I've been singing little green frog to Amelia. She giggles through the first verse...I think she finds the word "galoomp" funny. So cute!

I haven't taken Amelia to the doctor. If she was vomiting after every feed, I'd be there in a heartbeat. But she's so happy during the day and we don't have any problems. I don't think its reflux as that has been getting better.

But I had a brain wave tonight. She's been swallowing bath water! She loves her baths, but isn't content to just lie with her head on my arm. She's always trying to sit up, can't quite get there yet, slips and ends up with a mouthful of water. The first time she did it she got me completely by surprise and both her nose and mouth went under....scared us both. I might have to change bath time to mornings when DH is home so I have an extra set of hands. She didn't swallow any tonight and has been down since 8:30

Oh, and my fluffy mail arrived today. After trialling a few different cloth nappies, I finally settled on some Baby Beehinds Bamboo Fitteds and Multifit Pockets. I want to get Amelia out of sposies. Everytime I use them she gets horrendous nappy rash...her bum actually looks burnt. It gets better when I use bamboo prefolds, but I don't have enough for fulltime use.

AFM - I have a killer headache today and am exhausted after our first day of toilet training. Craig is getting there, but not quite getting it in the potty or toilet But no one expects their toddler to get it on the first day. We'll see how he goes tomorrow.

Hi girlies!

Alison - I haven't heard anything else about catching up. That puppy is great, isn't it! He loves it! I think he likes the flashing red heart. I've been trying to teach Michael to blow raspberries...he's not even close! Ah well, plenty of time.

Hannah - Oooh, I wonder if that could be it? Would be easy to fix at least if it was! Whats this Little Green Frog song? I have to say I only have a small repertoire (sp?) of songs I sing for Michael...its usually Wheels on the Bus, Doe a Deer (from Sound of Music), Eidelwiess, This Old Man, Michael Finnigan and the Grand Old Duke of York! I should really learn some more.

Suz - Wow! What a chubbikins! Thats fantastic, you're excusively breastfeeding is that right? Must be such a wonderful feeling to know that its all because of you that he is growing so well.

BS - Are you all feeling better now? HOpefully that was just a one-off! Thats sooo good that your feeds are starting to space out a bit more now. Yes, I must say, its one of the advantages of FF. As soon as I started him on it he started sleeping longer, such a massive difference. But then I don't get the wonderful feeling of BF, so there is a bit of a trade-off I think I noticed it one of your pictures that Eva had hold of something in her hand...how long has she been doing that for? Michael hasn't got the hang of his fingers yet, most of the things he does with his hands are with closed fists...except he sometimes has his right pointer finger out for some reason!

Big hello to all you other mummies!

AFM - GRRRR!!!! Its bloomin 38oC or whatever here and the power in our suburb decides to go out for 3 hours during the hottest part of the day!!!! I was sweltering. Poor little moo was so hot too, he couldnt' sleep. But he was such a good little boy, just lay in his cot with a damp flannel on his belly looking up at his wall stickers smiling. Gosh I love him.

Ohhh, feeding is becoming a nightmare He's going through some funny phase where he's getting really fussy. He'll be fine for the first part of the feed, until I come to burp him. Then he cries and cries and carries on and won't take the bottle back (he does eventually tho thank goodness), and stiffens out. I'm wondering if its wind. I do burp him and most of the times get a burp or two. I dunno what else it could be.

Beany, if you go by the book wonder weeks they have a fussy period around 11-12 weeks so sounds like you're getting there...it will end - he should start grabbing on to things soon after that and paying more attention to stuff...Eva has been grabbing stuff for about 3 weeks or so now...she has just recently actually been able to keep things in her hands for a bit and get them into her mouth, but sometimes she just gets a hold of somthing, shakes it and it drops, so she is not totally there yet I would say she really started reaching out and holding stuff at 3 months. In the FB album you can see the first picture has her grabbing her toy - that was when I noticed she was really reaching out and grabbing things on purpose - like looking at something, reaching out and grabbing...I also read in the book that some babies are more physical and some more observant...I find Eva to be a bit less physical but she makes so much noise and stuff - she was blowing raspberries since she was about two and a half months and imitating us by sticking out her tongue etc...But she won't roll over, for example...I am trying to give her naked time before the bath in the warm bathroom so she can see her feet more, try to roll etc....She has started trying to sit up unassisted too, so I put her flat on the changing table and she grabs onto my fingers and pulls herself up (I have to pull a bit then when her arms are staright she pulls herself to sitting)...But seriously all this stuff seems to have happened OVERNIGHT! She had a very fussy week right before I noticed all this happenning - That's why I am so happy to be reading wonder weeks - I find it to be spot on! (Thanks again rose ) - so as for the raspberries and all that, just do them for him and he'll just surprise you one day and do one back. I make noises and 'chat' with her since day one, like full adult conversation and I find that now she actually reacts when I say stuff...So I'll say, hey did you have a nice sleep, pause, and she'll go grrr oooohhhh.....so it is cute It is coming with Michael, just pay attention - they change almost overnight.

Suz, toilet training, breast feeding, 2 babies, you are a star You're doing so great balancing everything - hope the headache goes away fast!

Hannah, huh, that sounds like it could be the culprit! She is filling up on bath water...so spit up the milk, probably to get the water out...Try filling her bath less - I have been doing that lately with Eva since she kicks up a STORM now! She was more calm before just flaoting in there but now she kicks and kicks and turns her head from side to side so was getting water in her eyes...just fill it less and hold her almost sitting...It also helps to have all your supplies really close by. I took over the guest bathroom just for her bath and have everything lined up before I start to avoid having to look away or stretch my arm to reach for something! I am glad you figured that out though!

Did you ever think of getting the reflux meds for Amelia? Eva literally changed THE DAY she started taking it. I have nice feeds and no crying and naps (except for when she has gas like last night but I hear the little farts so I know it isn't reflux!)

Alsion, very cool idea going to the movies...Was it not too loud for her? Or did they put a lower volume in the theater? I guess and action movie would be out of the question That is so cool getting out like that with her!

Kanda, how are you doing?

AFM - out for a walk again today - ONE HOUR offroad so I got in a great workout - Pushing a stroller up and down hill and on dirt road gets you tired! So I hope to keep it up! Started raining right at the end though so I had to put the rain cover on her stroller for last 15 minutes so she didn't have much of a clear view. She is really loving those walks, now when I get her into her warm suit she just starts cracking up and wait patiently in the stroller to go out and when she sees me putting on my coat she gets all happy I can't wait for spring!

DH and I are planning our first weekend away with her the first WE of march - off to paris the city of lights We are preparing the baby bjorn and travel bed and will drive down for his grandfather's birthday. This shoudl be exciting and maybe I'll buy one or two things for myself in a bigger size - I'm tired of dressing all crappy...

Ok, so off to get my thank you cards out (I am so late on everything!) and get some work done while my well behaved calm little baby takes her long afternoon nap (that medicine has saved my life).

Morning everyone!

Well guess what, I had a crap night!!!!! The first in a long time and when you're used to 10 hours straight it's a killer really. Makes me realise even more how lovely the sleep throughs are. Not sure if it was something I ate yesterday - I did have cabbage, a growth spurt or the full moon but Amelia woke up at 2.30 am, I popped the dummy back in her mouth as her eyes were still closed but she kept waking up, I tried this a few times for an hour and then put her in our bed which I haven't done in ages, she didn't really sleep properly though, every time the dummy came out she woke up. So at 5.30 am I gave up and got up, she's had a bottle and is now in her rocker blowing friggin raspberries!!!! I feel shattered, funny how we get used to sleep again so quickly. Oh well, hopefully that was a one off for this week. I'm really glad you had such a great night with Abbey though and 12.5 hours is fine, Amelia's done that before. Her average is 9 hours but I get 10-12 every few days or so. Fingers crossed you get another like that tonight!

Well, it's going to be 41 here in Perth, it's 6.00 am and already warm out there. DH has taken the day off to go on the boat fishing with his dad, idiot! He said it's cooler out on the water but I was trying to explain that yes but the sun is still blaring the same. As he walked out the door I heard, I'm not 12. Anyway, we'll see how he goes....I think the'yre idiots personally and besides, as I said to him last night, it would be nice if you could have a day off to spend with us. Bloody men honestly! lol

Hi Beany - yes Amelia likes the flashing heart on the puppy too, I showed it to her last night and she smiled, will get it out again today. And yes, BS is right, the Wonder Weeks says it's fussy time so I think our bubs are just being normal......Amelia hasn't been fussy with her food but her sleeping has definitely changed both day and night the last few days with last night and the 2 nights before that waking at 4.00 am. Hope it's over soon so we can get back to our usual ha ha.

Hi BS - you're so good with the exercise, I so wanted to go for a regular walk but it's just been too hot, we're in the high 30's until late next week here in West Aus, not bad considering Summer finishes on Sunday! I did walk around the shops for a couple of hours after the movies yesterday so that counts for something, I try and walk fast too, probably looks funny but I don't care. As for the movies, they have the lights dimmed but not off as usual and the sound is supposedly turned down but we all found it quite loud, not sure if it's because we're not used to it or not but Amelia was fine with it after the initially sound blared out. Your'e right though, action movies could be too much I think. They had a promo for another movie coming out with Jennifer Lopez about her getting pregnant when single by a donor and then meeting someone, it looks hilarious, definitely one for us girls to see! Can't wait till it's on at mums and bubs movies.

Hi Suz - ha ha would be rather difficult with a toilet training toddler, there were a few girls with bubs and toddlers but I assumed they were in nappies. I only heard one little one crack the poops and get dragged out by mum.....guess we've got all that to look forward to! I did wonder if it's harder to take the bubs the older they get as they are more awake etc. I'll keep at it until it gets too hard.

How awful is this story about the little girl who was murdered in Bundaberg, I've noticed since having Amelia even though it would've saddened me before you don't really relate to it until you have your own child and it makes you feel sooooo sad for the parents. Poor little girl.

Hi girls!

Liam is napping right now - hopefully he'll stay asleep long enough for me to actually write some decent replies. Had a really bad day with him yesterday out of the blue - he was crying in the afternoon for about two hours straight I don't know if the heat was getting to him or what. Thankfully he had a pretty good night last night so I got to get some decent sleep, which I sorely needed.

Alison - Sorry to hear about that bad night. Hopefully it was just a one off and Amelia will be back to sleeping through tonight. How much is this weather sucking, too? Argh. Glad we have air con, but as it's evaporative it tends to conk out during the day a bit. I plan on hibernating for the next week or so until it cools down properly! It's annoying, since it means that I can't get out walking. Yay for Amelia giggling - I don't think we've had any overt laughs out of Liam yet, and I can't wait!

BS - I hear you on the overnight development. I swear, one day Liam was fussy during tummy time and could only just lift his head and the next, he was loving being on his tummy and could lift his head and shoulders up for ages. It's amazing to watch.

beany - Liam's been pretty fussy about feeding again the last few days as well. I'm guessing that it's just part of a developmental or growth spurt. That's totally awful about your power being out Fingers crossed it stays on today and tomorrow.

suz - I still don't know how you cope with a toddler and a baby, especially with toilet training thrown in! You're a champion.

Hannah - Baby Beehinds are awesome, aren't they? They're my favourites with Liam, along with Itti Bittis. I assume you got them in the BBH sale that's on atm? The cloth nappy hunt downunder is on in March, too - lots of bargains to be had! I have a feeling my credit card is going to take a battering. Though so many stores have sales at the moment, it's already pretty bruised!

AFM - Feeling generally pretty exhausted and blah. Things have been getting on top of me again a bit, probably just because I'm a bit sleep deprived after Liam having a very fussy few weeks. He's been better at sleeping this week, so hopefully I can catch up a bit. DH was away the night before last, and naturally Liam decided to have a super fussy night and day. Gah. He's been better this morning, though, so hopefully it bodes well for the rest of the day.

It's so amazing watching his development, as I'm sure you all know from your own bubs. He's so interested in the world now - he's actually interested in toys enough to reach for them a bit. He still loves things that play music the best - I think we need to get some more! He's definitely been having a growth spurt, too - weighed him yesterday and he was 6.2kg, up from 5.8kg a week before!

suz - Goodluck with the toilet training. Friends of mine started toilet training their daughter right before their son was born. But as soon as bub came home, she regressed and wanted to wear nappies again because thats what the baby wore. At least by now Craig has had time to get used to Ryan.

beany - It might be a wonder week. I find Amelia gets fussy feeding around those times. But I also find the heat upsets her too. The little green frog song goes:

BS - I got into the habit of deep baths when Amelia was really unsettled as it helped her to relax and just hadn't thought to go back to shallow baths now that she's happier. Amelia's reflux seems to be much milder than Eva's and I think she's growing out of it now. I'm just really strict on keeping her upright for half an hour after feeds. Its not so easy at night, but once she goes back to sleep I just stay up and watch tv. A trip to Paris sounds divine. Definitely will do you and DH the world of good. And what's a trip to Paris without shopping? Enjoy.

Alison - I feel for you girls with the heat in Perth. I think its coming our way this weekend. Keep cool.

Rose - I did get the BBH in the sale. I love the softness of the bamboo. I've got a couple itti bittis to try as well as I want something less bulky. I'd better be good until March then, my credit card's pretty battered as well. Liam may have been fussy from the growth spurt. Hopefully he'll settle back down again now.

AFM - Well it Amelia didn't swallow any bath water last night and we had a much better night with no major vomiting. I'll just have to fill the bath less. She keeps turning her head to look at me and actually tries to put her head down to lick at the water. This wasn't a problem, but now that she splashes around so much, she swallows quite a bit. The night wasn't perfect. She woke at 6am so I picked her up to feed her, but she went to sleep right away. When I put her down to wrap her, she woke and started crying and wouldn't settle until I gave her boob. She went back to sleep after only 5 minutes and woke again at 9. Now that I've worked it out I hope tonight will be better.

Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to pop in and say hello as I have not had time to write. It's about 8:45 on Thursday night and I finally have a little time by myself...Funny, the last time I sat down to write to you all was last Thursday, I even cut and pasted it into my email so I could keep writing yet it is now so out of date and I have thrown it in the trash...!

Firstly I would like to give Hannah a big hug. You must be one hell of a strong lady and you also must take after your mum. I am so sorry to hear that your Mum's cancer has spread but it must be good news to hear that the chemo is working.
Have you got a monitor that does movement as well? I have one and I find that it's so comforting to know that she is OK and breathing when I am in my own bed. Which is funny as when Lila was a little baby I relied on it but never really knew what to do if I were to go in there or the alarm went off and she wasn't breathing, so I enrolled in a first aid course through St Johns (they do classes specifically for infants) and It was very good.

I am not to sure who was talking about chocolate but I was in the same boat and have steered clear of it, even the white stuff...mmmmm yummy..... And I have noticed a big difference. I have a very low threshold for silicates and amines and I would not be surprised if it is inherited. (my sisters kiddies are ultra sensitive)

I tried another mothers group last week too. I have got a group who I go out with every so often but never really clicked with anyone, so I went and there were 3 people there and they couldn't really speak English. I was gutted! It took me forever to get there too.

AFM, Sienna is now sleeping quite well in her grow bag, I often go in and find her a little grunty or sucking on her hands but it is amazing to me how well she will sleep now without being wrapped in her 'miracle blanket' (we had Lila in one of those for months).
I have been waking Sienna at 7 every morning just so she has a consistent start time to the day and it is funny as the first few weeks I had to wake her yet now I find she is waking almost to the minute around 7.…

Being a 2nd Time Mum is soooo tricky some times and I think the hardest part of the jealousy thing may be over, but Lila was absolutely shattered for a few weeks there, she had trouble sleeping and was kind of p*s*d off at me. Yet I think it might be getting a lot better. When Sienna smiles or does anything now she laughs so I guess now she is getting to be more interactive which is great.

DH and I have been getting our house evaluated and we were thinking about selling... I cannot believe how much house prices have gone up in Sydney, (we bought around 4 years ago) and I have no idea how anyone like myself and DH could afford to buy a home now in Sydney..it's just insane..but we would love to move to the beaches...fingers crossed!

I don't know if you all remember but I have had some pretty shocking PND (and prenatal) depression going on. I have been getting a lot of help from my family and it all seams to be helping. My Dr has upped my dose on my anti depressants and I am feeling better which is great considering next Thursday I am going into to get a final test on some nodules in my neck that I had discovered during pregnancy. The test sucks as I have to not breast feed for 48 hours after, so the next week I am going to be pumping like crazy...the things we do...

Brussels have you been to Ikea? I noticed some of your nursery furnishings were quite similar to ours! (I love that place by the way...just not on the weekend)

Hi Kanda - great to hear from you, I love your FB video of Sienna, she's such a cutie. Glad to hear your PND is on the improve but sorry to hear about your nodules. I'm sure you'll be fine but keep us posted on how that goes.

AFM - I'm stuffed, been out shopping with a friend who lives the other side of the city to me, long day! Also just to whinge, I met a friend for lunch Monday as she's moving o/s tomorrow and she's just mentioned to me that she's spent the last 2 days in bed with a stomach bug so I hope to god she hasn't given it to me or Amelia, she was even holding Amelia at one stage and we hugged goodbye. I'm so angry as it turns out she got it from her sister who had it on the weekend. I'm hoping I have avoided it, wonder how long it takes to catch, hopefully I would've got it by now. Fingers crossed. People like that annoy me, you'd think she would've told me before I met her given I have a baby and all. grrrrrr. Some people are inconsiderate!

It's so bloomin hot here today it's just disgusting and hot for the rest of the weekend! How is everyone else today?

BS - I can't wait for my Wonder Weeks book to come...I wish it would hurry up, Amazon is saying I should get it March 5th. Booo. Haha, yes I have the same sort of conversations with Michael too! I also have been reading him Beatrix Potter, Mr Men books and a few other books too. I LOVE how he stares at me when I'm reading to him, as if he's hanging on to every word I say, not that he would understand anything I say, but that look in his eyes, it melts my heart That must be so lovely to go out walking, I'm stuck in the house since its so frigging hot here right now. We just have to stay home in the aircon! I'm itching to go somewhere! Oh and I'm sooooo jealous you're off to Paris! How lovely! I've been holding off buying clothes until I lose a bit more weight too, but since the weather will be cooling down soonish (it better flaming well cool down soon!!) I should really hop to it. Baaaaah.

Alison - we had a bit of a funny night last night too. Michael woke up howling around 3am, but he was still asleep so he settled down. then he woke up again at 4.30am, I put the dummy in and he slept till 6. He'd had a couple of nights of sleeping till 6am, so was surprised that he'd woken so early. He's had a real funny day today too, so who knows what tonight will bring. Hopefully Amelia will sleep through again for you! And OMG!!!! I would SOOO have been furious with that girl who didn't tell you she had been sick! Honestly, its just common sense people. GRRR!!!! Yes isn't it just gross weather atm? I hate it when its like this, a few hot hot days in a row. Everything is just yuck and the aircon doesn't seem to have much effect (we only have evap). Booo.

Rose - oh my, 2 hours straight? What did you do? I always wondered what you're meant to do when they're like that. How was he today then? You know, I reckon sleep is so very very important in a new mothers life. HOnestly, having a better sleep can be the difference between me feeling confident that I can handle the situation, and feeling like I can't take it anymore and I"ve had enough, etc. I've been doing some thinking and I reckon things aren't meant to be like this...babies are meant to be brought up in communities where family is always there to help, so the burden is shared. In modern day life it all falls on mainly the mother, no wonder we get stressed out!

Hannah - Oh thanks for the word to that song! I'll have to give it a go see what Michael thinks! Fantastic link too, thanks for that! It looks like it was the bath water then, fingers crossed its better for you tonight too.

Kanda - Aren't grobags just the best? I love it that you can put them in them and not have to worry about whether they've kicked the covers off and getting cold. Oh I just love them! Thats exciting about moving house! I hope it all works out for you Good luck for your test, I had a lump on the back of my head last year, but turned out to be an infected gland. Was all rather interesting...apparently when the gland went down, what was in it comes out as pimples on your neck and back! Anyhoo, I digress... Glad to hear that you are coping with your PND.

AFM - not a lot to report. Just been stuck at home the past couple of days. MIL had her bone marrow test today to see if the chemo has worked. I think we get the results in a few days.

Michael is going well, he was so placid this afternoon (esp considering he was awake for 4 hours with only 20 mins sleep) that I was actually wondering if there was something wrong with him. I wish my Wonder Weeks book would hurry uuup!!!!!

Hmm...embarrasing confession coming up...DH has gone to get the food shopping so I did Michaels last feed at night (DH usually does it when he gets home from work), and he fell asleep on me...I was just loving holding him while he was asleep, and I was thinking about how I"ll miss him being this small when he's 5...10...18 And I started crying!!! I had tears pouring down my face! I get that from my mum, I swear.

Hi Beany - ha ha that's not embarrassing I think that's really sweet. I've had a couple of times where Amelia has smiled at me and looked me right in the eye, I got a flutter in my chest and I started crying. I'm like you though and I think these are just the most special moments and times that we'll ever have, there'll be moments when they drive us crazy, moments they'll test us and moments they'll make us as proud as punch. This is being a parent, I always wondered what it was like and now I do and I love it!

As for the heat, I'm wondering how on earth I'll cope at aqua aerobics tomorrow, it's in a small indoor heated pool and it's hot on the best of days.

Alison, I hope that was just a one time thing too...I know how nice it must be to get some sleep (even though I am totally not there yet!) - I hate when people are sick and touch your baby then go, god I have a massive cold! UGH!

Rose, Isn't that wierd how they seem fussy when DH is out? DH had to be out in the evenings three nights this week and she gave it to me good! Crying, gassy anything, she is even starting to get too clever and she knows when she's about to go to bed and starts bawling when she gets to her bed! I thought I had a bit of time left to go before she resisted going to bed - but I understand, she is so amazed with the world right now - she just wants to be carried around in a front facing seated position and grab stuff and stare...But man, she needs to sleep a bit too! I had a migraine by the end of last night and DH was not in so I passed out on the sofa with her on me. He came in and took over walking around with her and put her to bed, but I slept with an all night migraine and woke up with it until 3pm...just awful...sining to a baby is not the same when your head is pounding.

He's out again tonight so let's see what happens.

Hannah, glad she didn't swallow more water - Eva does the same - she sort of tips her head to the side - I think it is for her ears - it changes the sound...I notice that when I talk to her she dips side to side, side to side - I am guessing she is playing with the sound...But she def licks her lips when her face is wet...Try to go more shallow, not too much, but I am sure she won't notice if you go down bit by bit.

Kanda! I am so glad to hear from you! I think about you very often - so glad that lila is doing better. I read an article last week about girls and their mums and though of you - they were saying that girls have an enormous attachement to their mothers, they need them immensely and imitate them and want all their time. So maybe for Lila it was just hard having to share her mother - then the article went into how later the girls start wanting "to steal" their fathers from their mothers etc...so they detach from their mothers...all this complication with females - but they went on to say that the detachement is very hard for young girls but very good for them or else they sort of imitate their mother's lives instead of starting thei own...so in one way it must have been awful for Lila but on the other hand, she is going to start taking on a new role as a big sister and help you and learn to share you and DH. I am really glad you're doing better. I hope you get on her more often!

I got the rug, little chair and closet from ikea I love that rug! I did not think I would find a nice rug there and when I saw that I loved it! I love Ikea (not on the weekends is spot on! I refuse to go there on Saturdays!)...We mix all of our furniture with bits and pieces from there - you just can't go wrong and the prices are amazing!

Beany, I totally agree that it takes a family to raise a baby...what I would do to have my sister here but luckily I have MIL upstairs and she loves helping out - she's been on vacation for two weeks though and I feel the difference! Can't wait for her to get back Saturday and me to get back to the gym (I had to cancel all my weekday training sessions for two weeks and only go on Satuyrday when DH could watch Eva)

Are grobags, sleeping bags??? In Euorpe and the US they almost require you to use them since they say covers can cause SIDS...I have two cute ones for Eva but use a little cashmere blanket sometimes too...I cheat

I'm a mush too lately - I just watch her starting to grab things and talk to her dolls and want to cry - I am so happy but then I think, god she'll grow up one day and have her own life and I totally understand my mushy mother now!

AFM, apart from the migraine today which was hard, I noticed that Eva is really grabbing stuff now! I went into her room and she was gripping her doll and nibbling on the leg! And she is holding her head more steady - it is just crazy! I can leave her in her playpen and she just touches stuff and chats to herself and laughs...I remember when she was just a grunting little worm

Off to read another chapter of wonder weeks - with the migraine I sort of got stuck

I am also getting her new bath chair today - she has gotten too big for the baby bath - she fits in but hits her head constantly so I am going to try to put her into the big bath with this little recliner I found online from BEABA (a brand I LOVEEEEE!) - it is like a little recliner in a towel material that gives her liberty to move but holds her in place in the bath in a reclining position - I'll let you guys know how it is! I'll probably post pictures on FB - I am just ridiculous with my pictures, aren't I? lol...If I don't though my mother calls me complaining

I have just realized we have a new thread.
I have missed notifications.

U girls have posted long posts the last few days.
This will only be a quick one for me as I am feeding and typing.

Jett has been excellent lately. He is 3-4hr feeds during the day with at least an hour sleep sometimes up to 3hrs through the day. At night he is anywhere between 4-hrs with a feed then straight back down for another 4hrs. He did hrs last night but tonight he has done 3hrs a dream feed then 5hrs and hopefully straight back again after this feed.

Jett has discovered his hands n loves them, he is also responding to us with goos and gahs. He is grabbing toys but doesn't seem to hold onto them for too long. He has a book that makes a crinkly noise when u touch it and it is his favourite.
His giggles make me feel all fuzzy. I just can't believe how quick the time is going. They are not little babies anymore

Alison I also went to mum n bub movie session last week with some of the mums from antenatal classes we also saw valentines day. I really enjoyed it and Jett was really well behaved. He had a feed then did a massive poo that went everywhere then went to sleep.

Talking of Jett doing massive poo's, yesterday on our way home from the shops he was crying n he was only just on 3hrs so I wasn't sure why he was so upset when I got home I quickly realized he had a poo explosion that was all in his car seat, the poor little munchkin. He has gone from not pooing often to now going once a day and they are good ones.

Since Jett is now in a pretty good routine I have been getting out n about quiet a bit. I love going out however I am not getting alot of the housework done, that is on the list if duties for today. On Thursday it was mine and DH wedding anniversary, so we went out for dinner I fed Jett put him in the car when we got to the restaurant I wrapped him up n he slept the whole time we were out he only woke when putting him in the car. I have not mastered that yet (getting him into the car n him staying asleep).

Sorry for a me post. I will try my hardest to get on later today n write some personals.

Hi Girls!

Hi Lani - hee hee isn't that movie gorgeous! Jett's massive poo explosion had me laughing, they pick their moments don't they!

AFM - I have had a nice weekend so far, enjoying it being a long one as it means I get an extra day with DH at home tomorrow lol. It was my oldest nephew's 20th birthday yesterday - I remember changing his nappy, scary though ha ha so we went to my sister's for a barbie and a swim. Because it's been so hot here the pool was 32 degrees, beautiful! Amelia loved it as usual and in the evening when she was having a sleep I had a very relaxing swim....I love night swims and I just floated and chilled, gosh it was beautiful. Today we're just slothing at home, I've done a bit of Amelia's scrapbook but it takes ages just to do one page - I'm not very good at it so am a bit indecisive with what to do......anyway DH wants to go to the nursery now and get some plants. Amelia's been good although I think we're going through another growth spurt, she's been hungrier than usual - gone back to 3/3.5 hourly feeds instead of 4 hourly feeds and Friday she had a rather grumpy unsettled day - guess the heat didn't help but I did stay home in the aircon so I don't think it was that. She's been waking more again at night, not for a feed but just a little whingey, doesn't cry as such just whimpering, the dummy normally fixes it but it's still hard getting up a few more times to do that again when you're used to sleeping through uninterrupted, how rude lol!

Anyway, best go make myself presentable if we're going out in public. Hope you're having nice weekends, aside from the crappy bits some of you are experiencing! xx

gee it's quite in here, maybe everyone is having such a great weekend that they have no time to post! Lets hope so.

Brussels, when does the stealing my DH start.. ?I so enjoy Lila wanting my attention yet I find it so hard to attend to both kiddies at the same time. I guess I need to give her time to adjust. I think she may be coming around though, I keep saying that "sienna is smiling at you" and "your the best big sister" and heaps of other encouraging words and I think she is coming around. I could go on and on about how proud I am as her mummy, she is such an awesome daughter and I love her more and more everyday. It's funny to think that we will be going through the same things with little Sienna, that she will be talking and eating and "chucking wobblies" all the same... it's all such an amazing journey.

Lani, have you seen the 'number 3's' commercial? If you haven't i am sure you can youTube it... I think it's for baby love nappies.. very funny...
Sienna has that moment about 2-3 times a day...we are really going through the nappies here...as well as the washing detergent!

All you guys in Perth I know it has been so hot over there and I hope your all OK with your littlies. I can be so hard when they are hot and unsettled. We do not have air con in Sienna's room and it has been a consistent 27 for the last few days... that's OK but if we get one hot day, it will skyrocket and she sleeps so poorly in the heat.
I have seen B.S's pictures on F.B and really envy the snow out your windows!

Beany...Yeah I am loving the grobags (yep, sleeping bags) ..and have looked on eBay for the cheaper ones from the UK too.. they are heaps cheaper! ( I don't remember who suggested that but thank you!... Sienna seams to be less gassy as she can move her arms and legs around when she is in them (although I still wrap her tight if she is having a shocker!)

We had my family round here today for lunch. I have one Brother and one Sister, both married and my mum and dad. My Sister has 2 kid's, a boy & a girl and my Brother has one daughter and expecting again in August.

Mum & Dad are leaving tomorrow for Italy and are spending 3 1/2 months in a house in Tuscany ...wow...lucky ducks! so we threw them a Bon Voyage party. I did a 7.5 hour leg of lamb in the oven followed by the most delicious caramel mud cake and this yumyumyum sweet desert wine...mmmmmm. Then we all jumped in the pool. i am really going to miss my mum. I am glad my sister & brother will be here still...we live within 10-20mins of each other...
The awesome thing is that DH and my lovely girls are heading over there in May for 3.5 weeks..yipee!!!..we will stay with Mum and Dad for two weeks and travel around and have their house as a base. I have no idea how the plane trip will go, or what we are going to pack but i am so excited, it's going to be a great adventure.
My scans are on Thursday and my Mum is convinced I am getting them done after they leave so she can't cancel her trip but I am so sure all will be fine, it's just such a bugger that I have to express for 48 hours! (did I mention DH killed my electric breast pump by washing it in water!!!!!!!) so I am considering buying another one...but I do have at least 9 tubs of milk that I have expressed in the freezer. I guess I am just freaking out at the whole process and the only thing I can control is how I can look after Sienna...

Oh yeah, and the WIGGLES are at my work on Friday, so hopefully (fingers crossed but who knows~!!!) we are all going to go in and have a great morning, (if we get on the telly i am sure I will facebook it!)

Hi Girls,

Yesterday, my DH rang saying he had come off his dirtbike (he was out bush riding with mates) and was going to hospital to make sure he was OK. They sent him home, but called him back today after a specialist looked at his X-Rays and noticed that he had air in his chest cavity (as well as several broken ribs). After more X-Rays today, the specialist was happy that the amount of air hadn't increased (therefore didn't need to be extracted with a syringe!). So I have a sore and sorry DH, a hyperactive toddler that I can't get to sit on the potty, and a 3 month old baby who decided to feed 2 hourly during the day and sleep all night (so my boobs are going haywire).

Sorry to whinge, I know most of you have it a lot tougher. But OMG I am exhausted!

Kanda - I hope you have a great morning with the Wiggles on Friday! Craig only got really in to The Wiggles recently, but we'll be watching Sunrise that morning. Keep up the praise with Lila, she will come around. A Mum from my Mum's Group had a really jealous toddler who would keep trying to hit the baby, but he's been great the last couple of months (bub's now about 5 or 6 months old). I know what you mean about Ikea! We're planning a trip soon but it will be a week day for sure. How awesome that you get to go to Tuscany! Something to look forward to Good good luck with your scans on Thursday. Bummer about expressing and that your electric pump has died.

Alison - Sounds like you had a lovely weekend. Maybe Amelia's having a growth spurt, Ryan's been feeding lots too.

Lani - The giggles are just beautiful aren't they? Jett sounds like he's doing fantastically well. That's great you were able to get to the movies and that Jett behaved. Such a great idea. Don't worry, I still don't have the moving of sleeping children to and from the car working with my eldest, maybe they just don't want to miss out on anything?

Brussels - Ah Ikea, can't wait to go there again (but not on a Saturday). How's the migraine? I've ordered Wonder Weeks too (meant to buy it with Craig but it was out of print then and impossible to get). How did Eva go in the new bath chair? I should check FB Hope you enjoy Paris, it will be so good for your little family to get away.

Beany - Way to go with the second hand sleeping bags from the UK. Are they Dreambags? The Grobags are so expensive. I wish my Wonder Weeks would hurry up too!

Hannah - Thanks for sharing your brand of breast pads, I've got my order in and hope they arrive soon. Love that Galumph song, I'd forgotten all about it and used it tonight to settle a cranky toddler at the hospital (waiting for Daddy to have his X-Ray). There's only so many times you can sing Big Red Car... How's Amelia's nappy rash going now you've got more fluffies?

Rose - Too much internet shopping. My poor VISA! I'm thinking of going to MCNs for Ryan so I should check out the 'nappy hunt'. Maybe they do training pants too? How's Liam going? Two hours of crying would have been awful, maybe it was the heat?
