Just popping in quickly, apologies for the kind of selfish post.
I've had a bad week. Started trying to step down on the Zoloft on Monday, and by Thursday I was a mess - in the throes of full-blown PND again. I've gone back onto my full dose again, and all is well. That was totally unfun and unexpected, though. I guess at least I know the medication is working. I'll be talking to my GP in a couple of weeks to see what my options are. Worst comes to worst, I stay on the Zoloft and just put up with the side effects.
Oh, and for those who asked re the dairy challenge. I'd gone dairy-free for a few weeks to see if it helped Liam at all with sleeping or grizziliness, and did a challenge by having dairy for a couple of days. I've still been having some dairy, and he hasn't had the green poo again. So I don't really know if it's a problem. He's had a bad week with teething pain, so it's possible that it just was some teething stuff.
Suz - glad to hear you're all better I plan on going to a few sewing classes hopefully, I'm just beginning to wonder when I'm going to get time to do it all!
BS - oh I hope you find a better pill, thats no good making you sick And I LOVE your new hair! Looks great!
Hannah - sorry to hear about your mum, how did the bone density scan go? That sounds great making those little legging things! They look sooo cute. I'm so glad you were able to be upfront with DH about needing more support...I'm having similar trouble but I don't want to say anything to DH because he's under enough pressure at work at with his mum still sick - I'm having problems with my anxiety and he doesn't seem to understand. Ho hum.
Alison - oh you poor darlings, I'm so glad you're feeling better now. Poor little Amelia. Sounds like a yucky bug. I did hear theres something going around Perth like that. I hope we dont' get it. Wow, so when Amelia wen tto bed at home at 10pm, she slept as normal?
Willow - I never know the difference between roman and holland blinds either! I have to admit tho...I am a beginner sewer, I can prolly sew in a straight line, and thats about it. So I'll need lots of practise and going to classes, hopefully I'll be sewing away in no time! When I get time that is...sewing machine is still in its box! How's the extension work going?
Rose - sorry to hear your weaning didn't work If you ever need anyone to talk to or anything, I can come over, kay? And thanks for the explanation re dairy challenge...makes sense!
Hi everyone else!
AFM - well...I think we may be approaching the next wonder week Ugh. Just as we finally get over the teething trouble too. He's been a bit odd yesterday and today. He only slept for 25 mins this morning, and has been extra cranky...tho that could be cos he hasn't slept much. I had a look at my WW book, and yep...bang on 22.5 weeks is when its meant to start. I have noticed he's doing a lot more different things now - he's reaching out to touch things like mad...we've really got to keep an eye on him now! He has flipped from tummy to back 3 times but I think its more by accident than anything. He's extremely chatty too!
Just wondering....does everyone still have their jelly-belly? I still have mine And yet again I was asked "when are you due?". So depressing. I dont' know how to get rid of it tho, the physio at our MG said no sit ups. Any suggestions?
I've started going to a physio myself actually - the left side of my neck/shoulder hasn't been right since he was born. Then I went and did something to it last week and could barely even move it. He said all my ligaments are really tight and in the wrong position or something, anyway, I have another appt tonight so I'll see what he says. Nice getting the massage tho!
Alison - I'm so glad you and Amelia are better. Lets hope you don't have to go through that again anytime soon.
willow - Is Harry settling back down yet? I just want to say that I think you are doing a fantastic job. I don't think I would've been able to cope with as much sanity as you have with hourly feeds. I don't blame you for feeling a little cranky. I know several women who gave up breastfeeding because they couldn't deal with 2-hourly feeds. Well done, honey Only one more month until Harry can start solids.
Rose - So sorry weaning off Zoloft didn't work. I hope knowing that its working makes it easier to cope with the side effects.
beany - I still have a bit of a belly, but not enough for people to ask when I'm due (how rude btw ). Sit ups are a no-no, but you can do pelvic tilts....tighten your abs as you pull your buttocks in. Really focus on bracing the lower abdominal muscles. These can be done lying down or standing. I try to do a few while in the shower or doing the dishes. And thanks for asking about my mum (see below).
As for DH, has he been to any appointments with you? It seemed to help DH when I was first diagnosed....he knew I was unhappy but didn't realise how serious it was until he spoke with my doctor. Also, I've stopped complaining to him and started telling him what I need. For example, he's been busy lately getting a couple of project cars on the road. He finished one last week so was planning a relaxed weekend. I asked him if he could spend a few hours with Amelia so I could do some housework uninterrupted. I woke up Saturday morning and DH had cleaned the bathroom, swept the floors, done the dishes and 2 loads of washing. Then Saturday, he still spent a couple of hours with Amelia while I got some sleep AND then cooked tea. So instead of me complaining about being tired and not being able to do anything (hoping he'll take the hint), he responded to me having a plan and telling him how he could help me put it into action. It might seem simple (and you might do this already) but for me its been a little epiphany.
AFM - We finally got some good news today. Mum's bone scan was completely normal . It's the first bit of good news since her diagnosis. It's helped her feel so much more positive about the new chemo treatment.
Amelia has also been sleeping at night for the past week. I have to be careful though. I need to start our bedtime routine at 5:30ish. If I leave it until around 6:30 she won't go to sleep until 11-12. She'll wake around 3:30am for a feed but goes straight back to sleep until 7:30ish. Also, she's been having a 2 hour nap in the late morning. Still catnapping in the afternoons, but at least I know I have the mornings and evenings to get things done.
