He has now been crying hysetically for the last hour on and off, to the point she is almost vomitting. When I cuddle her, she starts laughing at me. It is all a game. And she has been up since 1pm this arvo as she is falt out refusing arvo sleeps.

J has also been crying hysterically in his room, wanting cuddles and just generally playing up. I have been going from one room to the other, as I am home alone.

I think I am about to go cry hysterically too

Oh Meg you poor thing, you must be about to scream. Is DH there, I can't recall, is he away at the moment?? You need to share some of the effort! Hope they both settle for you soon.

SJ - that's fantastic about DD and her sleeps. Wish Isabel knew what lie down meant! She just doesn't listen to us... You sound like you are really getting there, good on you.

Ali - good work on getting a little bit of extra sleep. I don't think I've tried putting things in DD's cot... but maybe we will try that next time she is wide awake too early. The good thing about DD's late nights is that she has been waking late, which has been nice... this morning it was 8.15am so I was up and ready for work when she woke, worked well.

Olive - how was your reunion with S?? Hope miss M was ok today - I know what you mean about early starts stuffing up the rest of the day... But good work with only one resettle! Hope tonight is ok for you.

Pinny - interesting about the biting! Hope it sinks in soon. How long til L can go off fishing, lol! Mummy can have a sleep in then I can't wait til DD is old enough to do things with daddy as I may finally get some decent sleep ins

Holly - great news about the dinner, the good night and the house! Sounds all very exciting at the moment in your world! Maybe he will just grow out of needing to suck the BB dummy all night every night

Kaz - one of Isabel's teeth took a good three days to come right down - there was a sharp little corner first, then it took another two days to be fully through, one line of tooth. So sorry its been a bit tough for you... hope its easing up soon

AFM: thanks for all the well wishes and enquiries about my day! Today was actually fine - didn't get in til 10.30am, went to meet my new project manager at 1pm, picked up my new laptop at 3pm and left at about 4.15pm. Thankfully the heat didn't kill my train - I had a nice air-conditioned specimen that ran on time to the appropriate destination.

I had to park a fair way from the station tho and the walk back just about did me in - I now have a blister on one foot that rubbed itself raw and I was so hot by the time I got to the car I almost passed out. Not nice!

DD was fine - she was with my MIL and had a great day. Didn't miss me at all! Only had one bottle of EBM which was good as I attempted to express at work and got about 20mL. And that was 7hrs after I b/fed!!! Don't know what to do - think we might be dropping the day feeds when I am at work...

    Hope everyone else is well!!

OP, what about a formula feed instead? That's what we'll be doing. I won't be able to express enough for a full feed so L will be getting a formula feed, unless my mum is able to bring him into work and I can feed him there (however that is all subject to what mum's plans are and L's sleeps and my lunch breaks and all that!)

Lilima I hope they are both sound asleep right now and you are having a rest.

Heaven, that's great that DD is understanding more and easier to settle. Hope it continues and improves

Ali, how fantastic that A can amuse herself like that! If I turn my back from L he cracks it !!

Olive, yay about DH coming home Hope M's sleeps are good tonight and she wakes at a reasonable hour (not 4:30am!)

Pinny, hope the sleeps improve. L is a biter too but me saying no gets no where! Might have to put him down on the floor too if it will teach him (I'll just have to put up with the screaming!)

AFU, last nights sleeps were not good...he didn't want bbs as much but he was very irritable and restless from about 3am onwards (when dp left for work). Hope tonight is better. You should see him at the moment! He is lying flat on his tummy, arms and legs spread out like a starfish, in the middle of our bed in nothing but a nappy

I've been meaning to mention, often at night when I'm feeding him in bed and his eyes are getting sleepy and closing, I look at him and have this burst of happiness and excitement and I stare at him with this huge smile in awe and amazement, that I can't believe we have created this little person who is just so precious. I pick up his hands and look at his fingers and stroke his arm and kiss his little (boof) head! I'm just so in love with him! He is growing up so fast, I barely even remember him as a newborn! I just cannot believe our babies are almost one year old!!

ANYWAY, enough blabbering! Talk soon xox

Meg - how did you go last night? I hope everything is ok.

Olive - Yay on the sleep

OP - Good to hear work went well. Did you tell them about being pregnant (or is it obvious?). I really felt for you with the heat. I can't express much either so I give Miss J a formula feed when she is at CC.

Holly - that is so sweet. I think the same - however not when she is screaming at 12.30am

We had a disturbed sleep last night after a few good ones in a row but tooth #8 popped through this morning so I guess that is why. Got to go - taking G to see the Princess & the Frog on our date this morning

OP- Glad work was ok... when I was a work I had trouble expressing at first and needed to be quite relaxed only thinking of DD, I also took a photo with me, help me get a good let down and the milk would flow then, I would only get about 100mls but was enough as I also expressed in the morning one side and DD had other side. Good luck with it. DD eventually only had bb at morning at night so that was even better. LOL at the fishing!!! Can't wait till they both can go out on the boat!!! But just not yet,

Nai- Have fun at the movies, I am going to take DD to a movie soon
Olive- Fantastic Night!! I bet you feel great, good on her especially as it was so hot

Holly- Love what you wrote about L, you should write it down some where to read back on when he is growing up..

Lilima- hope ur ok? must of been so stressful...I had major sleep issues with DD when L was 5 weeks old, used bribery in the end, let me know if you want to know what I did, hoe it improves for you

AFU- Had fantastic day sleeps yesterday but struggled over night with the heat...so did I, ended up on the couch and him in pram infront of air con. slept a bit better then, L seems to be so hungry theses days can't seem to fill him!!!

Can't wait for the cool change to hit... but need my washing to get dry first.

Meg- sounded like a rough day/night. Hope you are okay
Olive- Possibly the end of this wonder week/s??
OP- Glad you had a good day at work
Holly- What a lovely post. I sometimes do the same thing. The year certainly has excaped us and we have all learnt so much! I think I have learnt more this year than any other year in my life! Being a mum is hard work.
Nai- 8 teeth is incredible. I am jealous! Tomorrow morning I am actually going to go to my MCHN as I want her to try and have a look to see if DD really is teething or if its my imagination! Have fun at the movies today. Nice and cool there!
Heaven- good work on the sleeps. SOunds liek some hard work starting to pay off.
Pinny- Ouch on the biting! I am not sure what to do buthope you can squash that one sooner rather than later.
Kaz- what time do you think you are going to go to the meet up??

AFM- I had 2 kids yesterday!!! Wow it was hard work but lots of fun!! It was great when they were playing but when it came to feeding them it was hard work as I only had one high chair. Then they got so messy from eating mango I had to bath them but had a good thing going with that. I just bought the change mat and out it on the bathroom floor so I could get one out, dress them and then do the next one.

Need to do a heap of running around jobs today. I cant believe that when I looked at my medicare card yesterday when I needed to fill out something they stuffed it up again. This will be the 4th attempt for me to get them to send me out a medicare card to my address that is not incorrect! How hard is it!!

How are the first birthday organisation going? Smile box do the most wonderful invitations to be sent via email. I did one last nigth for DD even though I wont send it out for a while at least that is organised and saved.

We opened a bank account for DD on the weekend. So cute that she has a dollarmites bank book!

Hope everyone has a good day and stays cool

Meg- how did your night end up? Is Dh on days off today? Try get some just you time if you can.

Ali- I remember having dollarmites account! how cute didn't know if they were still around. Starting to think of birthday, just BBQ we gonna have, nothing big but 1st birthday is exciting. We made it thru there 1st year!

Nai- have fun at the movies, everyone seems to be seeing that one, might have to think of taking Ash at some point.

Holly- ikwym, Df and I often say to each other how the hell did we create these gorgeous girls, they're so amazing, their personalities coming thru, birth is such a miracle.

OP- Glad work went well, what days are you working? How long til you're back on mat leave?

Heaven- glad things are improving there sleep wise after all the trouble you had and good on you doing it your way too regardless of all the comments your family has made over the time.

Question for you girls who are working on night weaning just interested to know what your goals are in terms of how many hours you are working towards getting from them? Emily is on bottle but still iks over the place of when she'll wake anywhere between 3-7. Plus do you offer water in the night? I'm thinking of doing that cause last night even tho we have air con she woke at 1am wouldn't settle I made her a bottle and she only drank half so prolly just thristy.

Holly - I think the same thing about DS all the time, especially when we're having a "settled" feed!

Olive - WOW on that sleep. That's awesome stuff. I hope you caught up a little too.

OP - I'm glad your first day back went well. DS tooth seems to have taken about a week so far Still not through.

Heaven - Your DD sounds pretty smart to me!! I'm sorry you've had rough sleep lately too. I saw a previous thread of yours where you had an amber anklet but were thinking of buying a necklace. Did you get the necklace? Did it make any difference?

Lilima - Massive I would have been crying hysterically too hun. xx

Ali - I think I'll try to get there by 10:30 or 11am. I'm allowing about 2.5 hours travel time. I'm looking forward to it but also feel a bit nervous about meeting everyone! I'm pretty shy and generally take a while to warm up and feel comfortable. I meant to ask you earlier - what brand sippy cup do you leave in the cot with DD? DS thinks they're toys mainly and manages to flick water everywhere even if they're supposed to be non-spill!

Pinny - Hope your washing gets dry! which reminds me about mine.......

Nai - Enjoy the movies! Hope you don't get eye strain from being up the front!

Shell - Not trying to night wean yet but I reckon I'll start trying after our holiday next month. I have tried the cuddle to settle instead of feed a few times in the evenings and that works sometimes but I am only trying to avoid feeding him every 40-60mins and he still feeds a lot overnight generally.

AFM - I am so over my whinging, whining, non-sleeping, unhappy boy!! It's a combination of heat, an evil tooth that will not break through the gum and god knows what else. I love him to death but he's doing my head in. No panadol for days now but he's still not himself so maybe I should be dosing him more? He's doing these 40 min naps during the day (2-3) and then not going down until quite late and then waking every 40 mins until midnight or later and then still waking to feed between then and 7am I ordered an amber necklace last night. DP thinks its a bit hocus pocus but I'm prepared to try anything at this point. I told him he can't give me any ***** until it doesn't work so now I'm it works for more reasons than one!!!!!!

waaaahhh lots to catch up with!!

pinny how did L go in the pram?? did he sleep better today?

ali i saw your photos on FB looks like they had fun, how did you go when it came to sleeptime?
i cant believe medicare can stuff up a card 3 times, thats crazy!
been meaning to ask too, how is DP fave going after the incident???

shell when i was following Jay Gordan, i would still feed if she woke before 11, but not between 11 and 6 but im not sure how confusing that is for her, lately she hasnt been waking til sometime after 12am. i give her lots of cuddles when she does wake, i offfer her water, she eventually takes it but is really after boob, ive just been persistant, i fed her close to 6am this morn as it was light, so im going with i'll feed only when the sun is coming up, but its not set in stone, i'll assess each night as we go, but the aim is to not feed at all.

kaz i find the best sippy cups are the kala ones, they really dont leak! different spout to what you'd normally see but they are great. can you and ali and the kids have a photo together please and post it on FB???!!!
    how is the tooth going????

    meg hun how was today?

Nai how was today? how ws the movie? thinking of taking S but worried it may be scary

AFM blimy it was hot last night and today oh my is all i have to say! though M slept well, so go figure. went for a swim today at my brothers, though the cool change came in about 15 min after getting there was nice though!
i *think* we may finally have a tooth on the way !! top central incisor!! can see a little hole thing happening!

Last night ended up sorta ok. DH ended up moving J to the spare room when he went to bed while he was still sleeping so that I could catch up on some sleep. J slept like a dream and woke up surprised that he was in with Daddy, but he always does that if he is in with one of us. If we had left him in his own room he would have woken. I just don't get it.

with E, I got her back up and gave her a cuddle, she was giggling and playing around..... it was all an act to get out of bed time. Put her back to bed and she started crying again!!!

I worked today. DH had the kids and they were well behaved. Both in bed now so fingers crossed.....

Olive - J took nanna to see that movie for her birthday. He was enthralled by it. I thought it might be a bit girly but he loved it.

Holly - I hear you on loving them so much, they are just so adorable. Even when they are behaving badly, you think - they just want to be loved.

kaz - you have nothing to lose trying the amber necklace. E wears one, and so far has teethed 4 of the 5 teeth without me even knowing.

Shell - I am not feeding overnight, so not sure I can help you there.

E's first birthday is not going to be anything fancy, but was thinking about using smilebo. You just reminded me.

I never thought about sleeping in the pram in front of aircon. I was thinking about putting the portacot in the hallway as it is cooler.

How did G like the movies Nai?

Hello to everyone else. Gonna go watch survivor. Oh - and the rain just started POURING down here!!!

    Evening all,

Waiting for the real Survivor episode... I hate when they do stupid "catch up" things...

Meg - I never thought about pram in front of air cond either. Poor DD, it was so hot in her room... we thought about portacot but figured she'd just scream... at least we could have rocked the pram... Hope work was ok and your night tonight is going ok!!

Olive - I hear ya, it was so feral last night... I feel like I only got 5 mins sleep. Tossed and turned all night. Couldn't believe it didn't cool down! Glad I wasn't working today and could laze about at home. Maybe a tooth? Exciting.

Kaz - give the necklace a go. I'm thinking about getting one too - DD's two last teeth were pretty rotten when they came through! Don't want to face that again! Have fun at the meet up and yes please take a photo with Ali and the bubs!

Shell - I'm working Mon, Wed and Thurs - only 60 actual days of work, spread between now and June 3rd. It isn't long at all, thank goodness. Don't really want to be there!

Ali - GL with medicare! Hope they get it right this time!! You have fun at the meet too!

Pinny - pram in front of air cond would have been good for us yest, I didn't even think about it! I tried to look at photos of DD but it didn't seem to help. I'm wondering if it was the heat yesterday - maybe I was dehydrated? Will try again tomorrow and see how I go.

I've decided if it all gets too stressful for me I'm going to feed her before work, as soon as I get home and then right before bed. That's still three milk feeds a day...

Nai - so glad you had a lovely day with G! Love the idea of your "date"

AFM: didn't do much today. Attempted to go to an indoor play area with MG but it was stinking hot inside so didn't last long at all. Back to work tomorrow, should be fun getting back into a normal routine - no more late starts! I'll get there!

Hope everyone else is going well - gotta run watch the proper episode of Survivor before DH gets sick of waiting for me!

Hahaha girls, I'm not very photogenic, although DS is so maybe he'll help me look better?

Lilima - Your necklace sounds great, it's nice to hear from people I "know" that it works - 4 out of 5 teeth aint bad odds. Hope it works for us too!

OP - I have a mate with an 11 month old (5 weeks older than DS) and he is on two to three milk feeds a day and she hasn't gone back to work so he has been dictating how many feeds he has. I know they're all different but just wanted to let you know that three feeds a day is in the ballpark of reasonable/normal at this age.

ETA - Olive forgot to say, thanks for the sippy recommendation. I'll google them now and try to find a local stockist. DS gets water into the spout and then uses his finger to flick it around. It doesn't sound much but adds up when he does it repeatedly!! Although this afternoon he was actually seriously drinking properly from it for the first time (not just a mouthful here or there when prompted) so maybe he is getting it. The heat probably helped too!
