Kaz - last night must have been the night for monster babies - I thought I had alex settled at 8pm, but he woke up and partieied until 12, then was up at 7am and was crabby baby all day! Woot on the necklace!

I agree with Jols - forget everything else and look after yourself, and nap or just lay down when J does.

AFU - I went to the sleep clinic today for a quick visit - a 20 min drive took me 40 and I was late - had to stop 3 times with cranky baby..

    gotta go

Back... and now I've forgotton personals...

Hol - your plans for your 21st sound great.
Ali - what was it last night? baby witching night?
Heaven - OMG with the knowing where noses/ears/mummy are... the only thing we get is daddadda and cat - so I don't exist - LOL.

HOpeless crappy memory.. sorry girls - I'm such a bad journal buddy. Alex still isn't solo walking, crawling is faster, although he goes all silly when he walks, thinks he's the hottest thing since toast.

    Kaz- totally understand mate.

Lilima- i think you are right on crap nights all round.

DD went down at 7pm woke at 10pm (just as I hopped in the bath I ran with a nice Lush bath bomb) and she was SCREAMING like I have never heard her before. I tried to feed her whichsatisfied her a bit then she would just scream more. I gave her some panadol and she was quiet for about 15min on my lap and then she wanted to play so she played in the lounge room until 12:30 when I gave her a bottle as I had no milk left and she went to sleep only to wake at 4:50am ready for the day!!! Feel like crap today!

Catch up on everything soon. She's screaming in her high chair now! GTG

    Love the name Holly!!

Ali - That SUX. I really hope you get a better one tonight. Do you have to work tomorrow?

Malyna - How did sleep shcool go?

Kaz - I have the amber works for you. It seems to work for us.

Nai - I am glad that the sleep is improving for you all.

Heaven - Awesome on the stepping! so walking here. Still just walking on the furniture, and climbing EVERYTHING!

Olive = Did she do better this arvo? lets hope you have a good night with her like last night.

Ok - so how many feeds a day are people doing? We are still doing 5, but I am now substituting 2 with bottles. One is a small bottle of 100mls (equivilent to morning tea) and one is about 200mls. - I really don't understand how big the bottles should be as I have not done bottles before. But I really want to start day weaning now, and just do first thing in morning feed and last thing at night
    A) because I have been offered a job 3 days a week and B) I am over it. - It is so strange for me to say that I was was not over it whatsoever with J, but years of it and I have had enough.

Meg - congrats on the job offer.....no offence, completely understand the staying low. that's one of the probs with written communication, it's only 1/2 the story - or maybe that's just the way I feel.

I can't help with the bottles. You know I think you should just go with what feels right, what Miss E is wanting etc, trust ur instincts.

have to wait for sleep school until the end of the month... the lady I spoke to was looking at me like (so your baby gives you 6hrs sleep what are you doing here)... I had to say that in october when I wanted to be refered here, he was sleeping at least 3hrs in his cot, now he just screams in his cot and only co-sleeps.. I spend my nights getting hit in the face, pushed out of bed, grabbing hold of a baby that is sleep crawling etc....

Meg- I must be so oblivious or not visiting other threads often enough cause I've not noticed much! Make sure you keep coming in here just check yr subscribed threads and check out those instead.
As for feeding we are on bottles and she has 4 still, usually bout 180mls not always finishes, once night feed is weaned we'll be down to 3 which I think is ok.

Ali- oh god what a crap night! Did you get that bath? Hope tonight is better.

Malyna- how was sleep clinic? Are you getting some helpful advice?

Holly- that sounds like nice plan for your birthday, still quite a largish group.

Kaz- hope you get a good night and make it to yr meet-up. Any difference now with the necklace or still too early to tell?

Heaven - yay on the walking! With regards to #2, I felt similar, was so worried bout poor Ash. Look tbh some days esp in the beginning you do find it really hard to find time for both but I made sure I included Ash in everything and she enjoyed helping out with the baby. We also try to do stuff just Ash and I.

Malyna, L isn't even crawling! Hope A has better days tomorrow.

Ali Hope you fitted a bath in tonight (for you!) and A sleeps like a log!

Oh lilima, I sooo hear you on the boohoo I'm offended threads

Look, I am a respectful person and the last thing I would ever want is to offend or make someone feel embarrassed/uncomfortable/insulted/whatever. But where do you draw the line?? I am getting tired of walking on eggshells too! I just think, if something offends you, move on, it was most likely done inadvertantly and therefore the person did not intend to offend you, didn't even direct it at you, and you can just put it down to them being thoughtless and ignorant (although I don't even think this...they are just using words that are the social/cultural norm for them). So we have to consider every potential reader's individual circumstances before we post something otherwise normally perceived as innocent and harmless? Blah, I don't know...but this forum is getting way too sensitive and petty. There is no way I would let words on a screen, not even directed at me and clearly said without malice, from someone I don't even know, affect my day.

I think I'll just lay low too

I agree, we could all go crazy trying to write something that everyone would not be offended by. names are just names unless you allow them to hurt you.

Hi kaz, let me know if you are going today because if you aren't then I will probably give it a miss. We had a crap night again! Its definitely teething. I can now actually feel a sharp line on her bottom gum and buldges on the top gums.

And my dog had to go out 4 times last night! must have eaten something that upset his tummy so between the two of them, not much sleep!

    BBL to catch up.

Malyna - at A going silly when he walks! I hope you get in to sleep school - it sounds like you are doing it tough

Ali - I hope your dog is ok and that you get some sleep.

Meg - I am doing 4 feeds a day: morning late morning, afternoon and evening. No feeds overnight. Plus 3 meals and snacks - it seems that she is eating all the time!! It's hard to say anything these days without someone taking offense so I try my best not to offend anyone but if I do I just apologise and move on. I can't live my life walking on eggshells. Congrats on the job!

Kaz - I would probably wait until you are back from holidays with the sleep thing. I waited until we were back from ours so that I could put in a big effort and know that we could stick to it for a few uninterrupted weeks. It might work but then get all mucked up with being away etc and you then have to start over.

Ali - Sending you a massive Teething really sucks. At least it does in this house so far and we've only got one that just popped through. I hope you had a good time with your mum today. Sorry I didn't get in here this morning - we slept in!!! I said yesterday when DS got up at 5am, I bet he sleeps in tomorrow! My alarm didn't go off and he slept til 8am so it was a mad crazy rush to get out the door! I was very disappointed not to meet you and DD but completely understand. We'll get to meet one day

Lilima - No offence taken at all. I think this sort of stuff goes in cycles. It happens every now and then - a few times a year. Nothing wrong with lying low for a while if it's doing your head in! Please let us know how you and the kids are getting on though
Congrats on your job too. Very exciting! Is it in the same field? I think I remember you saying a while back that you were after a change. DS's feeds are all over the show but I'm blaming teeth atm! Normally he has about 5 too. I'm going to try and night wean soon too and would love if he would drop back to a morning and night feed. That's my dream anyway he's probably got other ideas

Kailani - Read Lilimas!! You've got a great attitude too btw. It's so true, if someone means to offend a person, they usually make it pretty clear and direct!

Malyna - walking and crawling, no wonder he thinks he's hot stuff DS isn't moving much yet although he tries very hard so it won't be long. I'm sorry you coped the attitude from the nurse! They can be a bit insensitive at times. I hope the next 6 weeks flies!

Shell - we had a 5.5hour block of sleep last night - first one that long in about 2 months so maybe it's working already??

GTG - DS not sleeping (again!) and crying

Ali - sorry to hear that you didn't get much sleep.
Nai - i'm going to give gordon a go when we get back from sleep, if I don't have any luck with their ideas.. Alex just screams when he goes into his cot, I have absolutely no idea what to do about it.

Kaz - yeah he's been walking/crawling for ages now - the last few days, he's been free standing (when he's not thinking about it, distracted by toys etc), so he can walk, I think he's just being too lazy or maybe not enough confidence.. that will teach me for saying that I wanted a baby that didn't walk until he was 19mths - LOL I should have learnt when I got the opposite of the birth plan

What have you girls got planned for 1st birthdays? Any thoughts? I have no idea, was thinking about having a BBQ, or just a picnic somewhere, nothing big and splashy - only know one other baby that would come along

Olive- is she usually TT at night? Thats pretty good, Ash still needs night nappies, think will be long time before night TT.

Malyna- nothing big here for the 1st birthday, BBQ with few friends and family.

Kaz- how did the meet up go? It can be quite daunting meeting people for the first time.

Ali- hope you had a better night.

Beautiful cold day here, think I need put a jumper on.

Nai- omg sounds like you're having awesome success with the night weaning?? So did you follow the plan just like it said?? Any tips?
Holly- I am totally with you on the people being offended all the time!!I haven't even commented bc I'll offend someone, pmsl.
Kaz- Oh yay on the 5.5hrs of sleep! So jealous!!
Malyna- pmsl at DS going silly when he walks. DD hasn't taken any more steps either. Needs to get her courage up! I think we're just going to have a BBQ for DDs b'day.
lilima- I have no idea how many feeds here. AT LEAST every 3 hrs still!! The last few days it's been even more, I think it's coz of teething.
shell- thanks. That seems to be what everyone says, make sure you include no 1, so I'm going to remember that.

Well we had a crap night! It was alright until 3.30am but then she wouldn't go back to sleep until about 5am!! I don't know what it is, this is the second night in a row. Usually she just feeds back to sleep easily. Teeth maybe. She keeps pulling on her ears and sticking her fingers in there too. How would I know if she had an ear infection??

Heaven - pulling ears can be teeth - you could take her to the dr to get them looked at to be sure.

Olive - sounds like your going to be busy.

am laying on the floor typing and Alex just 'crawled' over my back like a car going over a hill - LOL - he didn't stop, just kept going..all the lure of the wires behind the TV

way to go olive, 11 hours uninterrupted... wow

AFM - I have sent the boys otu of the house for a few hours - I wasn't coping and I'm finding that the gap between episodes is becoming more frequent. I'm so angry at everything at the moment, battling depression without meds is really tough - i think i forgot how hard it is...
