Olive - Yep we are oging to get a DVD player for the car... Any recommendations? love the tongue clicking

Alex loves to blow raspberries - he usually does it with a mouthful of yoghurt, so whoever is feeding gets covered. I know i should not laugh but its so funny.

I should be at swimming classes but I'm over driving the 70km return trip there (I have to cross the territory)... I'll try locally next term (term 2) but I'm just over things at the moment.. I'm sure I'll get back into the swing of things soon.

Malyna - That's a long way to go for swimming lessons. I'm also travelling about 70km each way for ours but my mum's group all go at the same time so there is social incentive there. Hope you pick up soon. Yay for A doing so well in the car. We're going away in a couple of weeks and I've been wondering how DS will go. He's still riding backwards too!

Olive - squealing is no fun. DS has been doing it for months, mainly when he's tired! He also likes to play the giving game and says ta or ta-ta-ta. Too cute!

Ali - bummer about the movies being sold out. That would drive me nuts. Did you do something else nice instead?

Shell - meant to reply to you earlier that the meet up was good. It was daunting walking in but was nice to meet so many BBers and put faces to names. The time flew by and I didn't even get to talk to everyone! Social things are so different with kids and I only have the one to watch and he doesn't even move yet and I still struggle LOL!

    Kailani
    - that sucks about your leave, I agree with Malyna - the wording was confusing. RE: the food, DS has been doing this the past couple of weeks. He never ate heaps and now he seems to eat even less. I have varied his food a little bit. He will always eat cheese and yoghurt. We're in the process of changing his dinner (and possibly breakfast) routines so that he is eating with us cause he seems to eat more when we are too.

Who else was there?? Can't remember. Sorry Hi to everyone though!

AFU - Better sleep last night finally! He went down at 8:30pm, fed at 1am and again at 5:30am and got up at 8am. I feel so much better for having had a 4 hour block in there. DS had a massive morning sleep of over 2 hours too today and I think he's gone down again now. About his eye colour - I think he's got dark blue eyes (or grey-blue), DP doesn't think they're blue but more of a dark hazel. My mum agrees with him. My eyes are hazel (more green than brown, some people would say they are green iykwim) and DPs are blue but do sometimes change to have brown in them. Anyone confused yet? LOL!

Have a great Australia Day tomorrow everyone!

Holly - my manager is fairly flexible - he has 4 daughters but he realised they would have to pay me for my first day and I wouldn't be there as it would be a public holiday so that swayed him.

DP and I had a date day today with the girls in childcare which was lovely - we went to the movies and then out to lunch and drank too much. We cycled there and back - it was a perfect day. I think the last time we did that was almost 5 years ago.

Miss J has been screaming during the night for a few hours on end which has been tiring although last night was slightly better - thankfully! Her latest tricks are that she can now say "Hi" when she sees you - it's sooo cute. And her favourite toy is now a baby doll that she calls "Beybee" in a slightly french accent She will crawl around and look for it when I ask where "Beybee" is.

Kaz - I know I'm being lazy re the distance, but I'm just exhausted with everything at the moment, so I'm just letting the things that bug me go and things will change, I'm sure.

Nai - your date day sounded fun.

AFM - keep your fingers xed for me, I've started to put out query letters to agents.

    Olive!

    Welcome back Pinny

Malyna - good luck with the letters. How exciting!

Miss J (after 3 nights of screaming for hours in the middle of the night for no reason) actually slept 12 hours straight last night! Actually i heard her grizzle at 5.30 and she turned on her musical aquarium and put herself back to sleep I hope it's a new trend but I'm not counting on it.

    hey girls
    still here
but had a big few days
DD severly broke her elbow!! so after 3 days and two nights in hossy and a couple of pins being put in- she is finally home!!
DH had to stay in hossy with her as i am still feeding boof- it was the first time i havent been there for my kids when they were sick or for their operations- it was soo hard staying at home whilst the ambulance took her away!
i was a really nasty break and because of that she was seen and operated on straight away- she had no pulse in her hand until they put it back in place and pinned in together again-plus it was an interesting case for the surgeons so she had heaps of docs in on her op .
she is very sore still and still on heaps of meds- but getting there slowly!

boof and DS1 have been awesome esp being in a cubical for 10 hours yesterday. But man i am spent
boof still hasnt slept a full night here- ah well it will happen one day!
sorry for a selfish one - but been pretty full on here
got boofs first birthday get together on sat nite!! Can believe he will be one in a week!!!!
this time last year i had spent australia day in hossy having monitoring as i was in sporious labour!! Time flies when you are having fun!!!!
    take care girls

det im glad DD is home, what a way to end the holidays!!
how long is she in plaster for??

nai very clever of J!! woooot on 12 hours!

AFU im not sure if maybe DD's sudden (past month or so) new habit of fallen asleep on the boob at feed before bed may have something to do with her night waking she seems to wake and not be able to resettle without boob to make her drowsy again wont be allowing the falling asleep stuff tonight, as lovely as it is!

Det, so sorry to hear about DD! Poor thing Hope it heals up nice and quick. Have a great time for boof's birthday!

Malyna, good luck with the letters. My fingers are crossed for you. Lol at the blowing rasberries with food in mouth. L does that too and it is sooo gross!

Olive, M is a very clever girl, all those new tricks! Good luck with breaking the feeding/sleeping habit - L does that too.

Kaz, glad you got a decent block of sleep the other night. Hope it continues!

Nai, woohoo on the sleep! Hope she doesn't go back to the screaming phase! Sounds like a lovely date you and DP had the other day. Your manager seems very accommodating - it's so much handier when they have children of their own (helps even more if their kids are hard work, not that I wish that upon anyone!)

Pinny, glad you had a good trip. Good luck to you too with breaking the feeding habit!

    Hi to everyone else!

AFU...well I'm taking the plunge and RESIGNING FROM WORK!!! Yep, spoke to my manager, told her it wasn't going to work out. I'm just really not ready to go back and it would create far too much stress than the money is worth. She is going to get back to me on if i can extend my leave, but I doubt it and she knows I will probably be resigning. I just have to get the letter in asap. Phew, it is such a relief. Not looking forward to job hunting in the future though...cross that bridge when I get to it

Gtg, L is awake and I can hear him straining, creating a parcel in his pants for me lol.

Kailani- I bet it is a big relief to not have to go back, I felt the same and that's why I extended my leave...I'm already dreading that in September!!!

Nai- Sounds like you had a lovely day with DH, I need to do more thimgs like that I feel like I almost put him last these days

Malyna- How are you going??? Did you speak to your MCHN?

Kaz- Not sure on the eye color, i tend towards more hazel, but might just be the photo...

Heaven- Any more 8 hour blocks??? We got 7 hours last night!!!

    Hi to everybody else!!!

L is really starting to get vocal, lots of new sounds happening here!!! ANd loves to copy us too, loving this age!! Too cute.

    H iall,
A quick drop in. I am reading the posts, but not really posting much anywhere at the moment.

Holly - I am pleased for oyu. I did the same thing when I had James. I resigned. I found a job fairly easily when I was ready though. Second time around I have been working for a while now, but as DH is a sift worker it is not like leaving them in care.

Nai - I am pleased that you got some sleep!!

Olive - I hope you are ok. You seem quite stressed lately.

Malayna - I too hope you are ok aswell.

Ali - Cute pics on facebook!

Shell - I notivced on FB that DH is back at work. The hols go so fast don't they?

Det - I saw on FB that ayour little girl had broken her arm. Poor little thing. How did she do it?

I hope our preggy mums are doing well.

Not much here. James had his kinder orientation (he got a late offer, so got in!!) That went well. Just hanging at home today. Activities start again next week, so playgroup will be back as well as swimming. Yay as J gets so bored!

Det - hope the arm heals quickly.
Holly - woohoo on resigning, hard decision. You will find work down the track, when you are ready for it (or it will find you).

Haven't spoke to the MCHN, but have spoken to a heap of experienced mothers who have said "Oh phooey" to what I was told - SIL bub (who is off the growth charts) went for a few months without gaining weight, but gained in length, another one told me that her daughter was just petite (which is better for a girl but not so good for a boy, unless Alex wants to be a jockey). I'm just going to let Alex be Alex and unless he shows signs of illness, I'm not going to worry about it... He will be who he will be.

Plus A got his two top teeth through, so we have been going through the yoghurt (the only thing he will eat with sore mouth).

Alex is using my toothbrush on a box of clean nappies.. sigh.. he figured out how to open the drawers and the doors in the bathroom cabinet, so everything non baby friendly is out of his reach (for the moment).
