hi girls
just a quickie as its been another looong day!! LOL
DD got her pins out of her arm today- only had to wait 4 hours in outpatients to be seen!!!
boof doing well and walking heaps now- thinks he is soo cool!
kids love it when he walks over to them and throws his arms around them- wonder how long it will take for the novelity to wear off and he starts to annoy them lol
happy birthday miss G!!!
the big 4!!
HUGS TO EVERYONE !! it will pass i promise
we dont have any issues with sleep- he just doesnt sleep lol
still havent had a full night sleep and if we get 1 X 1 hour sleep per day then we are doing well!! Overnight he still wakes around 6 times!!! Usually i give up around 3ish and chuck him in with us lol
none of my kids were sleepers and i am not either so cant expect him to either!!
To tell you the truth i figure i can either fight it and insist that it is an issue and worry about it- or just accept it and go with it- and that is just what i do! So much less stress!!!
had our 12 month check up yesterday
weight :11.5kg
height : 80 cm
teeth - 8
so yep he is a big boy!!
The MCHN asked me about foods I give him and i said that we have done BLS from day one- she didnt know what it was - wtf!!! Had to explain to her what its all about- hmmm
Also asked her about playgroups in the area (see i remembered Ocean Princess!!) and she suggested i join the natural parenting group. Has anyone heard of them?? Maybe it was a polite way of telling me that i am a hippie -lol
Boof puked tonight- it was like the 4th time he has ever vomitted- got him zzz next to me watching him so hopefully it was a oncer!!
OP - wow you are busy!! fingers crossed for your sister and your dad. Dolphin cake.. wow... I've put the MIl and DH in charge of Alex's birthday cake, because I only ever make frisbee's (my cakes are duds).
Det - I have heard of natural parenting group - think htey have a website - also heard of monerossa (not the right spelling i know) playgroups... but I'm probably confused at this time of the morning.
AFU - took Alex to lollipops and put him in the ballpit. He got in one of those flintstone cars and proceeded to push himself backwards. Then his Gran had him going down a slippery dip (I was holding him). I forget what an agile, muscular little bub he is... I'm goign to take him to the YMCA gymnastics (because he loves to climb). Ohh and considering he was one of the first in this group to walk along furniture, he still isn't free walking yet! He'll zoom around with a walker but not on his own. he walked three steps the other day because he was distracted but that's it.
My fav quote at the moment is:
If you're going through hell, keep going. ~Winston Churchill
nai wow at G riding her bike!! what else did she get for her bday??
has the gastro left???
det, glad the pins are out,how is she coping with the plaster??
malyna lol at the cake frisbee!! you cant be that bad!!\
AFU M woke late today (7.45am) so only had one sleep and i can tell you she aint ready to cut down to one everyday she was in bed at 6pm! played with the girls in the yard this morning, M can climb UP the slide unassisted and the tanties OMG shes just like me
shes just gorgeous though!!! she has been waking a few hours after going to bed the past few nights and rather than feeding her like i normally would ive been resettling her, its working still up around twice overnight, we dont fight it, days are ok lasts around 3 hours before needing a sleep.
DH is on hols this next week, lots to do before the party next sunday, nothing organised except sending out the invites
OP how'd i miss you sorry chicken!
i saw the pics of your nephew!! very cute, did they know what they were having??
we need to see pics of the cake too
Malyna- 3 hours woohoo! Maybe its turning a corner with these longer sleeps. How did he go last night? I'm hoping the sleep promotes sleep is true and hopefully you've had a great night. With his weight do you have to get him weighed so often? Does he seem happy that hes not going hungry or anything? Just thinking along the lines of avoiding stress over it.
Olive- you sound slack like me, I've texted ppl bout Emilys party and thats it! I think poor Emily, when Ash was turning 1 I made beautiful invites on microsoft publisher and made it big event.
Det- no not heard of them but sounds good if they have parenting styles like yours. Maybe google them see if any near your area.
OP- congrats on being an aunt, I saw the pics on FB, he is so cute! How is the cake making going?
Nai- that sucks working on their birthdays. I guess lucky in my job can roster my shifts around birthdays, means I never work on my own either!
Holly- how is L doing? Has the temp settled?
Emily bit off, grizzlier more than usual and woke crying 3 times last night, dont know if tooth on the way or coming down with something. Time will tell.
Shell - I dont' hve to get him weighed so often.. I think it's just the way the MCHN is keeping track of me. I've had a few really high scores on that depression test they give (my last one was 20/30 and they consider anything above 10 high).. gotta go bubs is unsettled.
Hi girls,
Such an exciting time in our group with all the babies and families celebrating their 1st birthdays.
RainbowRaver- A big Happy Birthday to Bella Nai- The photos of the party are beautiful. Looks like a fun day by all. J looks so grown up and like she knows its hers and her big sisters day! Just adorable! I am going to have to work on DD's birthday as well. Its a CC day and my work day so not much I can do. A bit sad about it Malyna- Awesome nap by A! I looked at your stats. DD had a period the same as A where she didnt put on any weight. Maybe 10grams. i just figured that she was doing more things and she was happy and eating and drinking. I wasnt going to the mchn though so no one really told me if it was good or bad. She has picked up again though and is doing fine. thats exciting that he took some steps. Sound like he would love Kinder gymnastics. Shell- Hope you have a better night tonight with E. Olive- We had a day this week where DD wouldnt go down until later for her first nap of the day (like 12:00) so she only one day nap and she was not ready to cut down to one sleep either. Hope all the party organising this week goes well. At least DH is there to give you a hand and make sure he does! Det- Is boof better? Vomiting is nasty and they are so helpless. OP-Hope the party goes well tomorrow. Make sure you put some pics on FB. I bet it was funny holding him realising you will have one that small again very soon. Oh I miss those days that flew by so quickly! Kailani- Annoying about mothers group time. makes it difficult for you. DD is in the toddler nappies now as well. Has been for a few weeks. Any more news on the house and furnishing it and everything? Kaz- I hope you are having a nice time away, I cant remember if I said it earlier or not as I cant see far enough back but I am so sorry about your dog. I am sure it will be strange coming home to the house without her there Heaven- the pics you have been putting on FB of DD are so gorgeous! You have quite a skill for photography and a good subject to photograph! Pinny- How are you? havent seen you pop in for a while unless I have missed your post. Ellie- Hope bubba number 2 is baking nicely and that you are well.
if I have forgotten anyone.
AFM- Lots going on. Many of you have seen my thread that DD is fully weaned now and we had our last bf today. So special and I am very proud of the two of us. DD is settling into CC better, she isnt really sleeping there though. Maybe an hour tops a day! I am struggling with work and my friend that I am job sharing is as well. We just have a really bad mix of kids in our class. they aren't all bad kids, they just dont mix well together. Not much we can do but just try and get through each week as best we can and make sure we get pick of the crop next year! I also have the flu and AF- great combo there! Not! We had our landlords here Thurs and Friday doing work on the storm damage and repairing other things that needed to be repaired in the house. Still more to do but at least no water is coming in the house.
AFU - I was gardening this afternoon and I stabbed myself with a sharp saw. I looked down and saw the blade in my ankle. I pulled it out and DH got a bandaid for me. I was trying to put a bandage on the wound, and I felt like I was going to faint - so I looked away, then had to look back again and this went on for five minutes. DH had to put a large bandage on it, so I can't see it!! I know who will have to put the bandaids on Alex's wounds!
Malyna- DD weaned herself and has been over the last few months. I feel like I have been clutching to straws with it the last week and then she went two days without it so i just thought its time.
You poor thing with your finger. Ouch! I must admit I remember doing something like that when i was younger ad cutting flowers of a bush with scissors and actually cut through part of my finger, I didnt realise until I saw all the blood and then the pain set in and I freaked out. Hope you are okay. that is so sweet DH put a band aid on you!
As some of you have alreday seen on FB, my sister had her baby, finally!!!! Only two weeks over! The poor thing was so keen to get things moving once they arrived at induction day and then she gets to hosp at 7am and has to wait 3hrs just for an AROM!
Anyway little Mason finally arrived earthside at 5.53pm. He was pretty big - 4410g or 9lbs 11.5oz so she did well to birth with just gas, on the syntocinin drip with continual monitoring (she had wireless which helped a lot as she could walk around). She did tear, but not badly, just sort of in an awkward spot (internal) that hurt a bit to get repaired.
The MW said I was a great birth partner Woo!
So then we had our crazy Sunday with DD's birthday - counted last night and we had like 82 people for breakfast in the park! Didn't feel that hectic as we were outside and people came and went but gee it was crazy. We are not doing that again - from now on birthdays will be small!!!!
I'm totally wrecked!!
The cakes were awesome - I will post some pics soon, everyone loved them and they were almost completely devoured in about 15 mins post-cake cutting! So glad I made two!!!
My sister was discharged about 10.30am yesterday then lo and behold turns up at DD's party! Scene stealer - turning up with her day and a half old baby still wearing her hospital ID tag Just kidding of course - what a trooper, she said she didn't want to miss it! Bless her!
Will post this and try and do some catch ups... good way to pass the time at work
Maylna - woo on 3hr nap!! Hopefully its the start of something good Ouch with cutting yourself as well!! I think I would have passed out if I had a saw poking out of me! I know what you mean... can't believe a year has passed either! Our babies are all growing up!
Kailani, I saw on FB all the cooking you had done for L's birthday - you are very organised!! How is he, is he any better? Fever gone away? When is the party??
Ali - hope you are ok with the weaning! Sometimes I think it'd be easier if DD did wean... but I'm happy to keep going for as long as she wants it. How is she going at CC? I saw you'd posted some photos, I will check them out. With regards to her sleeping at CC, most of the mums in my MG who have their kids in CC said that to begin with they didn't sleep but then once they adjust they will start sleeping better.
Thanks for the comment on my nephew - I agree, he is a cutie Poor you with AF and the flu!! And stress about work too, not good. Hope you got some rest this weekend! Does the return of AF mean you're contemplating TTC any time soon?
Shell - hope Em has settled down a little for you!
Det - how is Boof?? No more chucking I hope. I've got some info on some more playgroups, though you can go to your "hippy" one if you like
Nai/Olive - how were the parties over the weekend??? Can't believe our girls are almost one - what do you guys have planned for Thurs? Nai, I know you are working - so what's happening once you finish work? I'm not sure what to do - just dinner I guess. Might ask mum to make a cake but it might be a bit crazy in their house with the new bub and m dad...
Speaking of which, I should ring my mum for an update - dad's surgery started an hour ago.
Hi to everyone else, sorry for the lack for further personals, I can't see any further back!!
