Malyna- DD weaned herself and has been over the last few months. I feel like I have been clutching to straws with it the last week and then she went two days without it so i just thought its time.
You poor thing with your finger. Ouch! I must admit I remember doing something like that when i was younger ad cutting flowers of a bush with scissors and actually cut through part of my finger, I didnt realise until I saw all the blood and then the pain set in and I freaked out. Hope you are okay. that is so sweet DH put a band aid on you!

Hi all,
L's had a temp for more than 48 hours now. It's mainly been around 39.5C degrees but has gotten to 40C and then down to 38C...Just when I think it's getting better it shoots back up again. He's asleep now and dosed up so hopefully tomorrow he will be better.
Ali, I had no idea DD was weaning! She seems all grown up now. How are you feeling about it? That sucks about your difficult class. You teachers do an amazing job! Don't know how I would remain sane...re the new house...we are moving in in April. Mil has told us not to buy any furniture yet as her partner is sending a lot of stuff down (he lives in QLD and has a furniture removal business). Apparently he has stuff like a fridge, washing machine, lounge suite...I dunno...but who has that much spare furniture lying around?! Good for us though as we really can't afford anything at the moment.
Malyna ouuchh! Hope it's not too sore!
Det how is boof today? Glad DD is finally fully recovered! And nope haven't heard of the playgroups either :dunno:
OP, wow you certainly are busy! Have a great day tomrrow!
Nai, happy birthday to your girlies! Saw the pics - very cute :) When L is better I think I'm going to try and do the one long afternoon sleep like DD2 does too. It worked really well for us...the one time he's done it!
Olive, you sound like me...all I've done about L's party is send out invites and planned (in my head!) what food I'm going to make/prepare. Mum's insisting we make the cake after the rude shock we got when we bought my 21st cake (they are so expensive...!) so great...there's another task (gotta do a trial one first). Gotta clean the house - I mean serious cleaning. Mum is renovating, the place is a bloody construction site, there's plaster stuck to the floors, drop sheets over furniture, dust on every exposed surface, debris everywhere and random house stuff/furniture has been moved around to wherever is out of the way of the tradies (the treadmill is in the hallway!). The kitchen is going to be ripped out next, so I'm just hoping the cabinetmaker starts after the party :o
Arghhh anyway, enough ranting and raving. Hi to everyone else. Random question... but those of you with just the one bub - do you reckon $150 a week on groceries for the 3 of you is expensive?? That doesn't include meat (I'm a vegetarian).
-
I just discovered a website with great baby/kids gifts. If any of you are stuck on what to get for upcoming birthdays seriously check it out. I am in love with the wooden toys! I can't choose what I want to get L, there's too many things!

Kailini - there are places where you can hire novelty birthday cake tins (I know there is a couple in the ACT) You sound pretty organised to me. I emailed everyone the invite for Alex's birthday.
Alex loves balls, so we got him one for his birthday, a hi5 dvd (coz he likes the colours and music), a spiderman little kids sofa, bag of blocks and something else but I can't remember.
DH bought a large lamington tin, and we(well he) is going to bake a large sponge and cut it into the shape of a one. We were going to hire a tin for $15 for two nights but DH has decided he wants to be creative and since he is the cook, I'm not complaining.
Happy birthday babies - can't believe a year ago I was waddling around wondering when bubs would arrive.

Hi ladies
As some of you have alreday seen on FB, my sister had her baby, finally!!!! Only two weeks over! The poor thing was so keen to get things moving once they arrived at induction day and then she gets to hosp at 7am and has to wait 3hrs just for an AROM!
Anyway little Mason finally arrived earthside at 5.53pm. He was pretty big - 4410g or 9lbs 11.5oz so she did well to birth with just gas, on the syntocinin drip with continual monitoring (she had wireless which helped a lot as she could walk around). She did tear, but not badly, just sort of in an awkward spot (internal) that hurt a bit to get repaired.
The MW said I was a great birth partner :D Woo!
So then we had our crazy Sunday with DD's birthday - counted last night and we had like 82 people for breakfast in the park! Didn't feel that hectic as we were outside and people came and went but gee it was crazy. We are not doing that again - from now on birthdays will be small!!!!
I'm totally wrecked!!
The cakes were awesome - I will post some pics soon, everyone loved them and they were almost completely devoured in about 15 mins post-cake cutting! So glad I made two!!!
My sister was discharged about 10.30am yesterday then lo and behold turns up at DD's party! Scene stealer - turning up with her day and a half old baby still wearing her hospital ID tag  Just kidding of course - what a trooper, she said she didn't want to miss it! Bless her!
Will post this and try and do some catch ups... good way to pass the time at work ;)

Maylna - woo on 3hr nap!! Hopefully its the start of something good :D Ouch with cutting yourself as well!! I think I would have passed out if I had a saw poking out of me! I know what you mean... can't believe a year has passed either! Our babies are all growing up!
Kailani, I saw on FB all the cooking you had done for L's birthday - you are very organised!! How is he, is he any better? Fever gone away? When is the party??
Ali - hope you are ok with the weaning! Sometimes I think it'd be easier if DD did wean... but I'm happy to keep going for as long as she wants it. How is she going at CC? I saw you'd posted some photos, I will check them out. With regards to her sleeping at CC, most of the mums in my MG who have their kids in CC said that to begin with they didn't sleep but then once they adjust they will start sleeping better.
Thanks for the comment on my nephew - I agree, he is a cutie :D Poor you with AF and the flu!! And stress about work too, not good. Hope you got some rest this weekend! Does the return of AF mean you're contemplating TTC any time soon? ;)
Shell - hope Em has settled down a little for you!
Det - how is Boof?? No more chucking I hope. I've got some info on some more playgroups, though you can go to your "hippy" one if you like :D
Nai/Olive - how were the parties over the weekend??? Can't believe our girls are almost one - what do you guys have planned for Thurs? Nai, I know you are working - so what's happening once you finish work? I'm not sure what to do - just dinner I guess. Might ask mum to make a cake but it might be a bit crazy in their house with the new bub and m dad...
Speaking of which, I should ring my mum for an update - dad's surgery started an hour ago.
Hi to everyone else, sorry for the lack for further personals, I can't see any further back!!
-
Thanks for the list shell!!!
Looking at it makes me realise how many have dropped off... :(
Oh well, to be expected I guess!
-
OP - wow you were busy -82 people!
shell - thanks for the list
Kaz - hun hope you get the parcel soon.
AFU - alex took 8 steps on his own across the lounge last night - I think he's going to free walk for his birthday!
Just seen my avatar - love it!! a turquoise dragon - just want I wanted!! Fly dragon away from here!! yipee!!

Hello all,
Just popping in for a min. Have a terrible head cold, and E's birthday party is this Saturday! I felt that bad that I actually fell asleep on the floor this arvo, with both kids jumping on me!!!
Just realised E's name is spelt wrong on on that list. It is "Emilia" not "Emelia"!!! Saying that - a friend had ababy on the weekend and called her "emelia Rose" -Doesn't she have good taste!!! :)
OP - Congrats on the arrival of your new little nephew.
Miss E is so close to walking. She just stands up in the middle of the lounge, but seems to cautious to take that first step. She has a trolly that she wheels around, and gets so upset when she gets to the wall as she can't turn it around. She stands there and howls!!!
Hoilly - is L better now?
OK no time for personals. Need to sit down. Desperate Housewives tonight. I hope I can stay awake long enough to watch it!
-
Lilima - you must have been tired to sleep on the floor being bounced on by two kids... Hope the cold clears up in time for the birthday party this weekend.
Aren't babies amazing - they are so clever.
-
Thanks for the list Shell...hard to believe it's a year already!
Reading but not alot of time for posting...just so damn tired and DH working all the time and feeling like a single mummy at the moment :(
Miss A is waking at 2am and every hour on the hour after that???? Has been going on for a few weeks now...I just have to pat her for a few minutes and she settles but man am I stuffed! I have no idea what is going on...I've tried more food, less food, more day sleeps, less day sleeps...I'm stumped!
-
Hi Everyone!
Well I survived the party on the weekend even though we got rained out and had to have it at home. The house hasn't recovered yet and I am still finding presents everywhere. Thankfully it's only once a year!! The girls had a ball though.
Miss J has been a bit cranky at night recently and waking up screaming. I looked in her mouth and can see what looks like the start of a molar bulging against the gum - oh joy! I guess once the molars are through we are on the home stretch but they are just awful when they are coming :( Poor little monkey.
Holly - when there were 3 of us I spent $150 a week on food (I'm also veg so no meat included there) and now I spend $180 a week - the girls are eating machines!
Ali - on the weaning. I'm glad you got to enjoy your last BF. When DD1 stopped she was sick so she just stopped one day and never went back which I hadn't expected. I hope I get to enjoy Miss J like you did with A.
OP - congrats on your nephew! And well done on surviving the party - LOL at you sister turning up - show off ;) I think on Friday we will just go to Taco Bill for dinner. Miss J doesn't know it's her birthday so we will just go straight from CC to dinner with some of her playgroup buddies.
Det - I hope Boof is on the mend!
Malyna - has Alex taken more steps? I don't think we will have a walker on her birthday - she is still cruising the furniture!
Meg - Wow on Emilia! She will probably be walking for her birthday too! You must have been tired to fall asleep with the kids on you!
Ellie - I hope you get some decent sleep soon! I'm not sure what that would be about but it sounds very tiring.
-
Nai- just noticed on your sig all the weight you've lost. Thats heaps! Good on you! I've been trying eat better and exercise for last month just to tone up, think there some improvement.
The cakes from the party looked great, seemed like fun day!
Ellie- thats sounds exhausting, what happens if you don't go in? Does she get worked up?
Meg- how are you feeling? E sounds just like Em with the walking business.
malyna- yay on 8 steps! How is your ankle?
OP- wow 82 ppl! I was thinking if we have 20 that gonna be way too many!
Holly- we spend roughly $200 fortnight on actual groceries then meat and vegies not sure cause Df goes buys them. How L doing?
Ali- how you feeling with the whole weaning? can be hard at first.
Who else is finding this age quite hard? Lately i just think I can never get anything done or barely even be able to eat when Emily is up, she is either wanting to climb on and off me, getting into everything and anything or screeching bout something!
Forgot to strap her in the highchair this morn, turnned around to make her toast and next sec she climbed out and sitting up on the tray!
-
sorry been MIA,very busy DH is home this week, doing stuff around the house etc.. been painting tonight.
M slept through sunday night :o, woke once last night, sort of expecting twice tonight, but will see how things go! party this sunday, birthday thursday :o

-
Hi guys I've been reading but not posting....
We have had some terrible news FIL had a heart attack this morning...I'm praying he will be ok.
L's birthday on Thursday too and we are having a party and naming day on Saturday that I still have heaps to do.
Anyhow will be back soon. Hi to everyone....
Love me
-
oh no pinny  hope FIL is ok
-
Oh no Pinny that's terrible - I hope he recovers quickly!!
Olive - don't feel bad for doing a selfish post, the rest of us seem to to do it much more frequently than you :D Hope you and DH continue to be productive with him at home! Have a great day on Sunday!!!
Shell - know what you mean, Isabel gets really whingey when she wants to be picked up/put down/whatever! I think for us it'll be a lot easier when she's walking... famous last words perhaps??? ;)
Nai - I'm another who has been watching your weight loss, you go girl!! Bummer about the party being rained out but at least it is over for another year :)
Ellie - if it makes you feel any better we're getting a similar thing with my DD - this morning it was 2am, just woke up crying and carrying on. Sometimes going in helps, sometimes not. Sometimes a drink helps, sometimes not. Who knows what is going on? All I know is I am exhausted too!!!!
Megie - how's the cold? Poor thing getting it right before the birthday. Hope its clearing up...
Malyna - love the avvie, its awesome! You were right, its not the typical one but its beautiful! How's A going with his walking???
AFU: as I said above DD woke this morning at about 2am and cried on and off until about 3.45am. Then my alarm went off at 5.45am. Sigh! Eyes needing toothpicks today. Not good! Going to work from home tomorrow to try and at least get a bit of a sleep in. Don't know what the matter was - I gave her a drink, held her, changed nappy... she just seemed miserable. Poor pet. Gave her some panadol about 3.30 and held her until she was asleep. So tired!!!!
Enjoying lots of newborn cuddles with my nephew - he seems so tiny, so hard to believe DD was ever that small. She was actually smaller! Also so hard to believe that'll be me again soon enough. Where has the time gone????
-

OP - I wish I knew where the time has gone. Woosh!
Happy birthday Millie and Lewis and Isobel.
AFU - Wondering why it took me 5 seconds to get the flyscreens off the window and fifteen minutes to get them back on?
-
I have come in to wish the birthday kiddies an absolutely wonderful day!
And congrats to all you mummies for surviving the first year
-
Happy Birthday to Lewis, Isabel and Millie!! Hope they all had a fantastic day, although I'm sure they were oblivious!
Malyna, I gave up trying to put the fly screens up a few days ago lol. Someone else managed to though because they are up now. I think it's difficult getting the pins into the holes at the same time especially if it's a big window (which ours is). Mum just had the look of the windows changed...they used to be 4 smaller rectangular panes but now just one big one.
Olive, woohoo on the sleep through! Has there been a repeat?
Pinny, so sorry to here about FIL. Hope he'll be okay.
Shell, saw on FB that DD1 had a great day today. Must be a relief to you! Did you enjoy the peace?
Lilima, how are you feeling??
Ellie, hope DD stops the waking at 2am thing. You're doing amazing to be managing the sleep deprivation and pregnancy!
OP, hope DD is feeling better, especially considering it's her special day. How lovely are those newborn cuddles! You'll be there again very soon :)
Hi to everyone else!
Thanks Nai and Shell for your replies about groceries. I am trying to get super organised and doing a meal plan. At the moment, lunch and dinner is always up in the air and left to the last minute. Anyway, I went onto Colesonline and did a mock shop of what we'd (DS, DP & I) need for one week and it reached about $140 and that's just for food, not toiletries or cleaning products or anything else (however that included free range organic eggs...didn't realise how much they were!) I was a bit shocked  We are moving into our own place in April and it just made me realise how much money we will have to dedicate to groceries! Right now we just pay board/rent to my mum as a regular direct debit thing and she sorts out the standard groceries (although, if we want something in particular we'll go and buy it ourselves). Anyway, at least I'm prepared now...
On topic...did I mention that L had been sick? He had a horrible fever followed by roseola and meanwhile teeth # 7 & 8 have cut through. Poor bub. He is a lot better now thankfully. I'm glad it's all out of the way before his birthday next week.
Tomorrow I'm calling iSelect and getting some health insurance!
Goodnight all xox
-
thanks for all the birthday wishes!! m had agreat day!! shes almost officially walking :o scary!

Pinny's FIL is recovering well too!
-
Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes for Mr Lewis!!!
Happy Birthday to Millie and Isobel.
Lewis had a lovely day.
My FIL is recovering well as Jols mentioned, he had amassive heart attack on tuesday whilst in hospital so we are very lucky to have him with us. We went to visit today so he could see his baby grandson for his birthday, I think it made his day.
Will try to get back on tomorrow if not Happy Birthday Juliette, hope she has a wonderful day!!
Also this time last year I was getting ready to birth L into this world He was born at 11.34pm !!!
-
HAPPY BIRTHDAY jULIETTE!! hope you have a wonderful day!!
pinny i snuck in at 7.51pm and took a photo of M asleep!
we've officially known each other for a year!!
-
Happy Birthday to my beautiful little girl! This time last year I was complaining that my back wouldn't stop aching and it was really annoying me  Silly me didn't realise Miss J was starting to enter the world!
-
Nai- I remember this day last year. Didnt you go out to the park with another BB member and your back was really hurting and they said go to the hospital?? We are so lucky you are still with us. thank goodness for a fantastic team at J's delivery. A big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Juliette! :birthday2: Hope that today is a fantastic day for the whole family!
-
-
Happy Birthday to J!!!! Hope she has a fantastic day :D
-
:happybirthday: HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Isabel, Millie & Lewis for yesterday and Juliette for today :happybirthday:
 Sorry girls, I have been MIA for ages. Haven't been into BB since the 6th Feb :o
Holiday was good, although DS is teething again with three on the move (only one cut through so far) so he's been waking pretty much 2 hourly for about 2 weeks now. *yawn* So exhausted I feel physically unwell at times and have been getting headaches etc. After particularly bad nights I actually feel quite depressed but I think it's just sleep deprivation cause I feel better if I get more sleep in that day. DS loved the beach though and started crawling (finally) on Monday of this week.
Pinny - I hope your FiL is making a speedy recovery.
Shell - If you go into my fb homepage into the albums - in the one called The Block, there's a great shot of our dog. She was a bull terrier cross dalmation.
Hi to everyone else!! Sorry, I have skimmed through what I missed but it's all a bit of a blur now. Have a great weekend everyone. xx
ETA - Malyna - Thanks so much for that parcel  I'm going to pm you about postage.
-
-
Happy birthday Miss J!!!
I remember lying in hospital thinking "I'm going to be induced tomorrow...noooooo.. I need to get some sleep"
-
Happy Birthday Alex!! Congratulations on getting through the first (and hardest) year Malyna!
-
Loving all these birthdays! So many memories for everyone.
:birthday2: Happy Birthday Alex!!!! Have a fabulous day! :birthday2:
