OP - You can get the two lengths of bed rails at Target. Just buy the long one, and then a shorter one, and it should fit thw whole way down.
Sorry you had a fight. I hope that you manage to sort it out with no ill feelings.

Olive - sounds like you are back having rough nights.

I have really only skimmed the posts.

Emilia is wearing James' old shoes. A tad boyish, but they are ok.

J is still not himself. He is eating much better, but is being really naughty, meaning that he is getting better, but still not that well. He always becomes MEGA naughty for about a month after major illness.

E has been waking in the night again. Generally I can ignore her and she will go back to sleep, but I think that she is a bit put out on the attention that J has been getting.

OK back to work tomorrow *sigh*

Thanks lilima, that's where we got the short rail from so I might go back and have another look.

Sounds like DS is on the improve. Hope he's back to his normal not-so-naughty self soon!

My DD is waking at night too. Maybe its this age as well as the attention thing?

    Hope work tomorrow is ok!

AFM: feel very average today. Have posted in the boohoo area, won't rehash it all here.

Hope everyone else is going ok - pretty quiet in here at the moment!

OP- will have to go read the other thread after this, hope you're ok.

Emily is in size 4.5 shoe. Was thinking of reusing Ash's shoes but want to be able to give them there first pairs when they're older.

Ohh OP- hugs hun- so sorry to hear about your fight with your sis- I know how close you two are! Hun just playing devils advocate but maybe she is finding harder than she thought having two kids. She is probably dead tired and feeling a bit on edge about her coping with an extra kids anyway. She is trying to look like she is doing fine, but its hard and i bet she doesnt want it to look like she is feeling it! Can you suck it up and just agree to disagree with her- her pride may not let her admit she over-reacted.

cant believe Ms is going into a bed- if you want have a contact to get matress and base at wholesale price- let me know and can give you details- they deliver too!! Miss you guys soo much too!!

4 more days of a cathether for DS1_ whoot and then hopefully no more medical stuff for a while pls!!! In at the RCH again all day next tues and that should be it for a bit!!!

Boof been all over the place-spewed on mond 3 times and once on tues- not like him at all- he has been grumpy for a couple of days as well and not sleeping - but thats nothing new for him! a lot better today so hopefully back to normal self to stay now!!
He is starting to say quite a few words now- you can actually start to understand what he is trying to say most of the time lol!

btw he is size 6 shoe- been wearing DS1 shoes since he was walking- i have soo many of them as i had a bit of a shoe fetish when i had him- so boof has boat shoes, blundstones, sandles and sneakers in every size from size 4 upwards lol - i think he has more shoes than me lol- Love blundstone boots on babes as they find it really hard to get them off lol

my nan finally came home from hossy today whoot!! and DS1 has settled into school really well - phew- just annoying to have to go up twice a day to empty his cath bag grrr
now just gotta get through my FIL and my mums ops!!

Hi girls, sorry I have been a bit MIA.

Thans for all of your thoughts over the past couple of weeks.

DD is sick again. Has a viral rash all over her. Not much I can do. She seems okay apart from being whingy but hard to know if thats related LOL!

Nai- Such little feet! DD's Shoe size is about 4.5

Olive- We have had a couple of shockers as well.

Det- Glad things are gettign better with the family health wise for most of the family members. I hope Boof gets back on track too.

OP- Massive hugs hun. Did you guys have a chat tonight? I should o back and check your other thread for that answer.

Lilima- I am finding DD is so needy of my attention lately. Even if I am in the same room with her, if I go to sit on the couch instead of being on the floor with her she coems over all grizzly and whingy.

Kaz- How is work and CC going? Been thinking of you and J. Love those pics you put up on FB.

to everyone else. Sorry to those I missed.

AFM- You might have seen a couple of pics I put up on FB of DD on the weekend. I decided for mothers day, I am going to get my mum and Dp's mum a mug with a pic of DD being a little lady and some twinning boxes of tea. Thought I would share with you girls in case anyone else wanted some ideas.

Not sure how much I will be around the next couple of weeks. I have heaps coming up. I need to pick up some extra work as I am so behind financially at the moment and I have a prac students starting on MOnday for a couple of weeks so thats more work and also need to start writing reports. Might have to put a ban on myself on BB soon as it is so easy to get distracted.

Olive- saw on FB you had night out with hubby, I love Olinda, I so want to move to Dandenongs but Df says no, party pooper.

Ali- Emily had that too, the rash after the virus, I find the kids get it right at the end so she should be getting right now. Hope work isn't too hectic for you. How does it work picking up extra work with teaching? Cause I'm just thinking if they have set teachers for classes where do you get to fill in?

det- I saw on FB you were back at RCH, hope the catherter is sorting itself.

Thanks Shell. Good to know. Ash's rash is gone now, just a bit of a clear runny nose so she is definately going to CC this week.

With work, I have my set days and had organised to do some casual days last week for a teacher who was at a course, but they just had to call and get someone else. I have also said I am available thurs and Fri this week (if they give me notice) if any teachers are sick, I can go fill in on their class.
Casual money is good. Its about $250 a day with minimal work load so its good if I need a bit of extra cash. In saying that though, its nott reliable and you dont get paid holidays for it.

ETA- Have found a way to keep DD in bed longer in the mornings when she wakes up. When I put her down at night I sneak a couple of books down the end of her bed under a blanket and she has been finding them in the morning and staying in bed and reading. LOVE IT! Thought I should share!

BB - my niece has just had a bout of roseola - a viral rash thing. She was basically really clingy, whingy and sleepy for a few days, then had a rash all over her and was still a bit grumpy, then she was fine. Sounds like it could be going round!

GL with getting some more hours at work. We are bit strapped financially too... I'm thinking about picking up some work with my friends MCN shop, doing some stuff from home - she gets lots of questions via email and doesn't get a chance to respond, so she wants me to help out. Could be good to get a bit of extra cash...

I love the mug idea, where are you ordering it?? Will it be here by Sunday? I was going to do a photo book for mum/MIL - but I ran out of time

Olive - woo, a night out? Sounds lovely! Its DH's bday on Thurs and I offered to take him out for tea, just the two of us, but he's all "can't afford it, too hard to find a babysitter for DD, etc etc". And now his folks want to have us over for dinner so that's an easier/cheaper option! Oh well!

Shell - I love the Dandys too but couldn't live there! I grew up in outer Melb, but north eastern outer burbs and it was a bit tough as I got older and wanted to be in the city and stuff. So much easier where I am now, still nice and leafy but only about 30-40mins to the city. But I do love my trees - need greenery around me!

How's everyone else going?? Hi to all!

AFU: not much going on, had a hectic weekend but still didn't get DD into her bed. But we have the cradle back from SIL so that's great, give us some extra breathing space if we need it.

I'm in for my 32 week check on Fri - how quick has that gone! Four weeks of work left after this week... hanging out to finish!

DD still suffering pretty bad nappy rash, just won't clear up. Seems to get better and then worse... trying some new nappy things to see if it helps. Other than that she is a happy girl, most of the time! Constantly amazes us with her developments - new words for the moment are car (CA!), dark (DA!), turtle (which actually sounds like turtle when she says it), she is making horse/monkey/tiger sounds and making crab hand signs. She also has a sound she makes when she is hungry now (which sounds strangely like horsey LOL) and she says "Dink!" for drink, which is so nice to not have to try and work out why she is grizzling, food or water? She just makes the sound or says "Dink!".

She can also pick out some of the flash cards if we ask her too - as in mix them all up on the ground and say "Where is the turtle?" and she will look through them and find it. She is clearly gifted and I have no doubt the next Nobel peace prize winner

Taking my tongue out of my cheek now, she just amazes us every day. Love this age!

One funny thing I have noticed though (as in ha-ha, not weird) is that she is starting to refer to herself as "Bubba" - which DH and I call her. We must use it too frequently - we say "Hi Bubba", "what's wrong bubba?", "Where's Bubba? I can't see Bubba!", "bath time for bubba!" and now it seems she thinks she is called Bubba! She'll pick up my water bottle and I used to say "No, that's mummy's bottle, where is Bubba's?" and now, she picks up my bottle and says "Bubba? Bubba?" looking for her bottle. So cute.

Ali- lol thats what I do, and when she wakes I get Df to take her in a bottle so then by time she drinks that and has a play I've got to lay in a bit longer. extra days sound good, at least if its casual you can do it as it suits you.

OP- Hope the nappy rash clears, I use sudocreme and lather it on after every nappy change and change often. Sure you tried everything tho! I can't believe you're getting closer and closer to your due date!

Heres a tip if anyone needs help getting these toddlers eating vegies, mash it up and put into a sandwhich, lol. I tried it tonight with Emily cause besides potato and tinned food she won't eat her vegies!
