Olive- What did the Dr say? She feeling any better? How is DD1 doing?
Ali- oh wow, so did you decide to take up the job offer? Congrats, great to hear all the hard work you've put in is being noticed. Hows the runny nose issue? Is it from CC? I know kids who have started and had runny nose for months afterwards.
Ellie- how is everything going, I feel for you I still remember clearly how hard it can be with a toddler and a newborn. Just take each day as it comes, thats what I tried to tell myself, don't get caught up in the little things just concentrate on what has to be done.
OP- how are you doing? You coping ok with being heavily preggy and chasing after DD1? You getting time to rest/ put up your feet?
Meg- you'll have to put a pick on FB up of the necklace, sounds really nice. You're lucky you have that gym thing near you, I need to find something here that is open in age groups, so hard to do anything cause every class I look at is by ages and one child doesn't want to just sit and watch all the time. How is the sleep going with E?
How is everyone going with eating, well their toddlers and eating, Emily will not eat meat and veg meals, occasionally she may eat bit chicken if we hide it in a sandwhich but thats it. We offer every day, then I offer her shop baby food which she used it eat but refuses that too. She just wanst to live on breads, dairy and fruit!
shell no chest infection....yet, but gave me a script incase she gets worse and we cant get an appointment, he checked DD1 as well and although she sounds like a chain smoker, chest is clear, not contagious and can go to kinder this week! yippeee!
food.. DD is a great dinner eater, eats really well, meat is ok sometimes great sometimes not, eats faster than DD1 and has normally eaten diiner and dessert before DD1 has finshed first course! brekky is 1.5 weekix and sometimes toast... lunch is the worst, shes just not that interested!
Hi ladies,
Still here, still in one piece. Coming up to 39wks... was sure it would have happened by now as I went into labour with DD at 39+3 and my body has been giving me all these signs that its happening but then nothing. So I've booked in for some acupuncture tomorrow morning - thinking it might just tip me over the edge. That and I'm going to put the hard word on DH tonight  Sorry for the TMI... I'm just getting so over it, I'm really really sore and so tired, I'm sending DD down to the MIL tomorrow for the day just so I can rest around my acupuncture and osteo appointments.
Enough whinging! It'll happen soon enough. On the nicer side of things, DD has been giving me lots of lovely cuddles and snuggles, so I feel good that we can have some nice one on one time before DS arrives!
Olive - you poor thing, I can't believe the bad run you've had with sickness at your place! Hope it all settles down soon!
Shell - DD is really hit and miss with food and eating. Every morning its a trial to see what's going to go down that day. Brekky I generally try her on toast or weeties - toast she might eat about half a piece, sometimes a whole piece. Then she might eat some fruit or yogurt before her sleep but days like today she wasn't interested. Lunch is always an adventure... I try sandwich with vegemite or cheese spread, a bread roll or some sort of left overs... or I make up some pasta.
Dinner we try and give her whatever we have, or leftovers... and I always try and include some meat, but lately she has been turning her nose up at it. It is so varied, stresses me out a bit to be honest! I do worry that she's not eating enough some days!
BB - congrats on the promotion, sounds like it could be great for you! WRT DD's runny nose/constant cold - we went thru that a few weeks ago, DD's nose was just constantly running. I felt terrible when I took her places, like people were looking at me and thinking "That child should be at home where she can't infect other kids" but it was just a runny nose! Thankfully seems to have passed now...
Lilima - how has sleep been in your house?? How's your cheeky monkey going?
Ellie - wish I could get some more sleep hun!!! The other night I got like 4hrs before waking for a wee break and then was up every hour  Hope your big outing to the nurse goes well on Friday!!!! Good luck!
Hope everyone else is going well :grouphug:
I haven't read back everyone's posts yet - sorry!! But wanted to say I am going to book a hotel room for the sydney meet up and wondered if there was anyone in here who wants to share?
Shell - DS often rejects meat too, especially if it's chunks of meat, like in a stir fry. He'll occasionally eat mince but half the time won't go for that either. He lives on cheese and veggies and pasta. I'm trying not to stress about it and just keep offering it.
OP - :crossfingers: you go into labour TODAY!!!!!!! lol!
lol girls
if it is any help- when my twins were little they would only eat yellow food!!!
seriously!!
Yellow pasta, yellow cheese, yellow chicken nuggets (home made of course) yellow cereal, yellow bananas, yellow chips, yellow corn, yellow pineapple, yellow mango- even yellow apples!
this went on till they were like 5 years old when their tastes matured and changed
now their diet is a bit more colourful!!
if not got ole hide the vegie and meat game is fun. My twins ate lots of mince, sausages - esp kangaroo snags, as are soft and easy for them to chew and digest. Also crumbed lamb cutlets are good and guess what- they look yellow when they are cooked lol!!!
ah gotta love it!
 morning sickness has definitely kicked in today. I think I'm 6 weeks today and I'm pretty sure I had my first spew when preg with DD at exactly 6 wks too. Not fun. But makes me feel better though. When I had the m/c at 8 wks (before DD) I never got morning sickness. So things must be going alright in there at the moment. I really have no idea how I'll hide it until 12 weeks though. I look pregnant already which is seriously ridiculous!! Must be really bloated.
OP- thinking of you and hoping your little dude makes an entrance soon!!
Ali and Kaz- Can't wait to meet you guys in August!! Ali you said july in your post though. It's August though, did I say the wrong month? Or maybe it was just a typo?
ugh I can't remember what else, gtg lie down while DD watches Dora for 20mins
Heaven- MS kicked in for me smack on 6 weeks as well. Arrrh the joys....! I did know that it was August so not sure why I said July! LOL!
Det- Love the post about yellow food! How funny!
Kaz- I am coming to the Syd meet up but probably just the Friday night and maybe a day thing if all of us want to meet up during the day as well.
OP- lots of labour vibes!!!! I am hanging out for your BA and to see pics of your little man!
Olive- Lunch is the worst here as well. She likes picking at things during the day.
Nai- We are starting to hate the high chair as well! Would prefer to sit on her little seat and sit at the coffee table of and feed herself weetbix which is a disaster but I cant get over how much she wants independence!
Shell- Just accepted it yesterday but have to keep hush hush about it from the rest of the staff until all of the proper procedures are done. Might be announced Monday or Thursday!
I cant see further back but :hello: to everyone.
Ooh I forgot to say Ali congrats on the job!! That is so awesome!!
Anyone else's bub having a growth spurt? I think DD is. My god, she is eating EVERYTHING!!!! She is having twice as many breastfeeds and eating and eating allllll day. It is nice to not have her throw her food down though and actually eat her vegies!
Heaven - I too got sick at 6 week! Augh - It went on till I was about 16 weeks!
Ali - Yay on the job!
Det - funny about the yellow food!
For us food is not so much of an issue. Sometimes she doesn't want anything, and sometimes she will eat from dawn till dusk. Especially my home made spaghetti. Both kids LOVE it, and it is jammed packed with veggies that they don't know about.
E is STILL waking. Sometimes crying, sometimes chatting. Last night I think she was awake for a while, but funnily enough I have learnt to just sleep through it. I only know because DH told me that he got up to her overnight.
It is going ot be COLD in Melb this weekend. THey are saying a top of 10 for tomorrow, which means it will be about 7 is Gisborne!
Thanks for the replies on meals, tonight was the first night she actually ate her dinner, we nearly died in shock, lol. Was a salmon pasta df had cooked and she actually ate all parts of it, salmon, avacado, mushroom... :o Hope it continues otherwise it'll be back to toast for dinner!
Meg- Its funny how she does that, I'm sure if she was upset you would hear her they definately let us know! guess she is a bit of a night owl. I laughed bout your DH getting up cause isn't it usually the other way around the woman hears them and the men say they didnn't.
Heaven- growth spurt hmm, maybe thats why my DD actually ate her dinner tonight! m/s sucks I had til 16-17 weeks with mine but meant to be a good sign apparantly with all the hormones. You won't be able to hide it too well if you're spewing alot! Can't have that many "tummy bugs" ppl will get sus.
Det- I had to laugh at the yellow food. You put food dye in things to trick them out? My nephew was like that but with white food so he had a high carb diet! How is everything going there?
Kaz- i'll be at the sydney meet! Will be great to meet you! Already have a room booked tho. Did you end up finding someone?
Olive- How is the sickness at your place?
OP- Hope you are in labour or somehting! Come on get going, I want some baby news!
We're all sick, Ash has been unwell all week, seems fine in the morning hits a wall at about 3 then ends up with temp in the evening and coughs all night. Now I feel I've got it cause I've been coughing all day. Emily has a gunky eye, hoping not conjunctivitis, I find sometimes when they have colds they rub snot up in there eyes and they get bit gunky for couple days. Thats my whinge!
Nup shell still here :( Oh well!
Hiya,
I have absolutely no hope of catching up on the news so I'm just going to say congratulations and comisserations and woohoos and yippees and all the very best of everything to ya all.
When is the sydney meet going to happen? It's just down the road (well 3 hrs).
xxoo :grouphug:
shell glad the food is going better! maybe just keep offering her what you have, she'll get there, DD2 eats more than DD1 and can eat main and dessert before DD1 has even finished main! hope the snot leaves your house soon, will be nice to have DP home for a few weeks too!
OP come out baby! hope things get moving soon for you chicken!
Heaven i got it around 6 weeks to til around 16, i used seabands and drank ginger and lemon tea, for the bloating i loooooved de-gas, best stuff!
Malyna the meet up is the first weekend in june!!
lilima tis cold this weekend! didnt make it past 10 yesterdaym, is slightly warmer today at 11.6! i love winter though.
AFM DD slept through last night! 6.45 til 5.45, she resettled herself at around 9pm then DH resettled her at 5.45 for around an hour, so i got ....... 7 hours straight sleep! thats the most ive had in ages!!
shes still a little crackly in the chest but not contagious anymore which is good, trying to get her to sleep at the moment, not going so well though  at least shes not crying... at the moment!
Olive - Opps sounds like I've missed the catch up... Yipee on the 7 hrs sleep. can't wait for that day :-D
You haven't missed it it's queens birthday weekend next year! They have an annual one each queens birthday weekend, the sydney will be the 3rd year running. If you go to meet-ups there is a thread.
Olive- yay on the sleep!
Em didn't eat tonight so back to old self, and now Ash is being picky suddenly not liking things for silliest reasons, driving me nuts.
Sick with head cold and lots snot.
Shell - I could have written your post! I think I spoke too soon about e eating pretty well. Past two night, it has beeing either a struggle or nothing at all. what do you do shell? give her something else that you know she will eat, or say that's all that there is. Tonight with E, she just ended up having nothing, as I know that she just wants to fill up on yoghurt and stewed apples. I am not playing that game. J was the same. I left his dinner in the kitchen and told him that there would be nothing else. He ended up eating it about an hour later when he knew I was being serious.
Olive- YAY on the sleep!
Lilima & Shell- We do have our nights where DD isnt hungry and i have offered her dinner. Tonight she picked at her dinner but wasnt fussed with it so I gave her strawberries and yoghurt because she normally eats well, I dont worry too much if she has a bad night or two.
DD has the worst nappy rash today! I have never seen it that bad, makes nappy changes even worse.
