Kaz  How are you holding up? It can be really easy to be uber busy caring for DH and not looking after yourself. Let me know if you need a hand - I'm just down the road. I mean it.
I'm sorry to hear the news. It friggin' sucks. Feel free to let it all out here with us. Sounds like you have good support, although you need to reel those grandparents in - pepsi max - that drives me crazy! I'm sending you guys a truckload of positive vibes/prayers.
Olive I just saw your countdown to christmas. EEK!!!
Det - I like your style with the kids in the car. I was sitting in the car, doors open, a few weeks ago (Alex had fallen asleep in his carseat and I was too chicken to wake him) and the parcel delivery guy scared the crap out of me when he came up to the car to drop off a parcel.
We seem to have bad hayfever here. It sucks.
The only way Alex eats is at one of those small tables. It takes him at least an hour to eat his food - he's a grazer, like me. He usually feeds his lunch to the cats when he's not giving them a hug. One of the cats has learnt to meow as soon as he gets close to her to let me know that she's been pinned by Alex.
He's not saying a lot of words but understands a lot. Walks around with his finger on his lips going "Shhh", does a really great "Oh nooooo".
Still not sleeping through the night. Still addicted to boobie. Started to jump off the lounge. Throwing Tantrums. Managed to gross Alex out the other day by kissing DH on the lips in front of him. Alex screwed up his face "Oh nooo" he exclaimed.
MIL put a video on facebook with him facepalming at the horrible out of tune singing at a birthday party for me.
Update on our front. We sold our house to a developer, contracts exchanged so it's all going ahead. They haven't even walked through the house, because they will bulldoze it and build units. Kinda sad but over living in a shoebox.
Writing 50,000 words this month for a writing competition. DH is going for a new job. Got a housewarming combined 40th birthday party in early december. Figured buying a house was enough of a celebration for my 40th.
Take care of yourself. You girls rock!!
-
Alex's latest stunt at the gym creche was to take his shorts off and while the little girls were yelling "He's taken his shorts off" he tried to stick them on his head. I'm blaming DH.
-
Hey all
Will try and remember what i can on the phone...
Malyna, is the competition NaNoWriMo??? If so there's a thread around here about that...
You've probably already found it!
How cute about the "oh nooo" when you kissed DH!
Congrats on selling!! We are getting sick of living in a shoebox too. Ahh house hunting... Grr.
Olive - I'm going to take mine into the city maybe too now that you've reported back! Sounds good!
Miss M sounds similar to Miss I - tells us when she has poo but hasn't done it on the potty yet. Same with wees. At least we have summer and can let them run around nudey rudey!
DD was weighed at the GP last week, she's 13.5kg. Didn't get her measured - I really should buy one of those growth chart things.
Kaz - how's Dp going? How are you going? I think of you guys often and am praying for you.
Lilima - it has been quiet in here yep! How are the ears?? Hope everyone is feeling better soon.
Det - g/l with the opens today! Hope you get lots through!
Um what else, can't quite remember!
Will update us in a bit... DD wants to get dressed and I should have a shower while DS is sleeping...
-
OP indeed it is NaNoWriMo. I'm involved in another forum group. Thanks for the hint.
-
Oooh good luck then Malyna!!
-
Hi all . Went and saw the Santa parade today and both Kids loved it. And we didn't get wet!
J still has ear infection , and E is cutting eye teeth ATM. She was up 3 hrs last night. Hope it was a once off!
-
Malyna - Good luck with your writing! You sound like you are doing really well with it. All the best for your 40th too! Mine is next Dec so am already trying to decide what I should do for the celebration.
OP - How are you going with Miss I's hitting etc? Miss J has started getting really physical and pushing her big sister around a lot, scratching and hitting!! She had an altercation at CC last week and came home with a big scratch on her nose but I'm sure she gave as good as she got. I think I have a little bully on my hands :(
Lilima - You are brave going to the parade! We are getting the girls to do letters to Santa at the moment to post them in Santa's mailbox
Det - I hope your house sells soon - it would be so hard with 3 kids to keep it neat for inspections!
Kaz - How are you going?
Olive - you do have another skinny minny on your hands  Miss J is 12kg and 85cm tall
AFU - Miss J is saying a lot more and telling me when she has done poos and wees but won't use the potty. She can also tell some colours - she knows yellow and green - and she is starting to string words together and sometimes I can even understand what she is talking about :p
-
Hi Nai - We caught the train in and went straight past your house. I waved. Did you see us :P
On the subject of Santa letters - does the one that you do write back? If not, does anyone know where you can write to get a reply??
Yeah - parade was great. We really enjoyed it.
E slept pefectly well last night, so thats good.
So far, E has not been a hitter or biter, so lets hope it stays that way. She is speaking in sentaces as well. Now when she says good bye to someone, she says "see ya - catch ya later!"
-
Meg- yes you were brave going! I decided i would wait til both girls are older lol. Letters to santa I just got leaflet in mailbox the otherday. Look up letters to santa there somewhere in melb apparantly you pay $5 and santa will send a letter, not sure how great they are I was considering getting one for the girls and sending one to my nephew.
Nai- sounds like miss J just isn't going to let anyne push her around! Emily has been trying to assert herself here with Ash but ends up losing poor thing.
OP- Good luck with the house hunting, I think prices might drop soon, so many auctions around here have passed in, seems no one wants to drop their prices but people don't want to pay sky high prices anymore esp with rates going up so someone has to give in.
Malyna- pmsl at the shorts on his head! Already the show man to the ladies lol. Good luck with the writing competition. Sounds like there is alot going on there at the moment, busy busy! When will you move into your new place?
Det- Good luck with selling your place. I reakon it'd be bloody hard to keep clean for inspections! How are houses selling out your way? Like I mentioned to OP around here alot are being passed in.
We're in process of doing up the girls bedrooms, atm they're pretty plain so DF is painting pretty pink feature wall (easier than painting whole room lol) and for xmas I will buy pretty curtains, lamp, wall stickers. Easy presents then.
-
Hey girls,
Everyone sounds very busy! Esp. you Malyna! Must be the time of year. Good luck with the writing comp and the house move. Are you still going to the gym?
Lilima - Glad the sleep thing was a one off for you. DS is waking 2-3 times a night and staying up for 30-120 minutes each time. It's wearing thin........
det - good luck with the auction hun. Sounds stressful but something will catch your eye and it will be just perfect for your family and meant to be.
AFU - DS is also understanding and saying more every day. He puts two words together a fair bit but sometimes even three that are understandable. I asked him as a game yesterday where daddy was as we came home from care and we looked in different rooms til we found him and DS answered saying 'I don know'. He has a memory like an elephant, if I do something once, he knows and remembers next time  He is telling me most of the time when he has done a poo but wee's are still a long way off except I think he is telling me when he does one in the bath lol!! He has only used the potty once by accident but we haven't been into a routine with it yet. He loves to say 'ready, set, go' and then do something (like jump on us on the lounge or jump off something in the yard) but only the 'go' is coherent, we know what he's saying from the intonation. This is such a fun age, every day there is something new he can do or say. So far I don't think the tantrums have been too bad but maybe it's still coming? He can usually be reasoned with and will do something brief for me in order to get what he wants afterwards. The main issues we are having are sleep (as above) and he's had separation anxiety triggered (which could explain the evil sleep too) with everything that's been going on. DP is home again now which is awesome but I think it's all caught up to DS and he must be worried that if daddy can just disappear then maybe mummy will too. He still saw DP every now and then but it wasn't for long and he wasn't acting normally because he was so unwell so it's understandable, although hard work to go back to screaming and whinging at every turn when I leave him or walk away or have a shower etc. DP is doing much better than this time last fortnight. We are still taking things day by day and every now and then the enormity of it hits all over again but it feels like we're starting to get into a routine. Hoping to get back to my mum's group tomorrow for the first time in weeks :)
Hope you are all well and have a fantastic weekend planned! xx

Very quiet in here lately!
Good to hear from you Kaz. Glad your DH is home now, must make it a bit easier that you guys get to see him more. I agree, this is such a fun age! So much learning and their little personalities really coming out!
DD is toilet training at the moment. She just decided she wanted to. She always follows me to the toilet and then decided she wanted to sit on it and do a wee. She didn't at first but thought it was fun, lol. So I got her a little toilet seat and she loves it! She just seemed to get it straight away. I wasn't planning on TT until after she turned 2, so it was unexpected. She hasn't worn a nappy during the day at home for the last week though and isn't having accidents for wee's anymore. She only really had a few accidents the first couple of days when she was distracted or eating or something so I guess she was just ready?? She comes and says 'tooook!' (toilet) and I take her and she wees and claps and says 'wee wee, see it!' and then 'wipe' and 'flush' lol. She's a bit scared of poo's though, lol. She says she needs to go when she knows she needs to poo but she keeps sitting on the toilet and then it's like she's about to do it and then she gets worried and wants to get off and then comes back a bit later and tries again and does this a few times until she really can't hold it and she eventually poos on the toilet. Or else she has an accident if I'm not quick enough or not paying attention, lol. She gets really excited when she does do it though I think it's just actually doing it she's scared of for some reason, strange.
She seems to be able to hold it for a while aswell now. She doesn't want to wee in her nappy. If we're out in the car or something she's tell me she needs to go to the toilet and if I say just wee in your nappy she gets all worried and doesn't want to do it and ends up holding til we get home and goes to the toilet.
I don't really know what I'm doing though with this TT thing, I'm just doing whatever I think, I wasn't really ready for it.
What is everyone getting their kids for christmas?? I'm trying to think of something for DD! Might go browse the shops a bit today.
-
Hi everyone! Just popping in as MIA as usual...still reading but not alot of time for posting :(
PND alot better...my big worry now is Miss A not talking...a few words...so we're off to see the Speech Therapist...otherwise just getting through the day with two lots of nappies and feeds and sleeps that happen at the same time...sometimes! Still sleep deprived but all in all doing ok!
Big hugs to everyone xxx

Just saying hi and I hope everyone is well. Olive and Shell wanted to let you know E loved the Santa train at Myer.
All ok here. J had his needles and was great. E seems to be starting to drop her day sleep. I seem to have something on every weekend now till Christmas.
Take care lovely ladies xxx

Hi ladies
Selfish post - DD is doing my head in with sleep times. She still definitely needs a day sleep but it is generally a constant battle. I've been trying to get her to sleep today since about half past ten. :wall:
Tuesdays are the worst as I try and get her to have a sleep before our playgroup... but I think today will be the last time I attempt this.
On a normal day she'll go down at about 1pm but it is still a a battle. I'm trying some new strategies which worked great yesterday but today I have returned to the screaming banshee. I hate it and I hate screaming at her but I'm so tired I just don't have the patience to be patient with her. That sounds ridiculous.
Nights are the same, a screaming match generally ensues.
Please tell me its her age and someone else is battling with sleep... please...
