Thats great news Tracey, I'm so glad to hear he is coming along well. He has a guardian angel looking after him.
Malyna- After all the drama I hope you're now settled into your new place! Had to laugh at your story bout talking to the groceries sounds like something I would do.
Nai- We love having a playroom, the best thing to shove all their stuff in and send them in there. We turned our study into one, now we have laptops dont really need big set up.
Ellie- how are you? has hubby managed to get home? gets hard on your own doesn't it, esp when you're not feeling well.
Merry Xmas to you all. Can we believe santa comes tonight! We have very busy weekend planned so trying to just have quiet relaxing day today, have wrapped all my gifts, santa sacks that I made myself completed so putting my feet up.
Hi everyone! Hope you've all had a great Christmas! Hubby made it home...just! DD1 was beside herself and doesn't want to know me at all now he's home:( I'm not allowed to do anything...not even change her nappy...shame lol! Catch up on all the goss soon. Exxx
Merry belated Christmas and New Year,.
I hope everyone is good.
E is beinga pain lately. Up all hours of the night. Last night she slept in with me, and DH, bailed and got in with J, as she tosses and turns..... Hope we have a better night tonight, as DH on night shift.
Spent some time down at Rye as my sister lices there. It was great, but teamed up with Christmas, the kids have had too many late nights.
Had a NYE gathering here. Nice and low key. E fell of the deck and hit her head, then fell off a chair and hit her head again. Today she was bouncing on my bed, fell off and hit her head agaon. She has so many bruises. Also one of the older kids gave her a glow stick on NYE and it broke. She got it in her eye, and SCREAMED for about an hour. Luck DH has stuff to treat her, and they are non toxic. Poor little bub she has really been in the wars.
She starts CC one day a week soon, I don't know how she (or me for that matter) will go. She is very social, but lately has become very clingy to me.......
Hi girls,
I am so sorry I have been such a bad buddy lately
I don't think I've been in BB since my last post. It seems I've missed heaps. to all who have been sick or injured lately.
Tracey - hun, reading about Matteo has made me teary with happiness for you! I know I'm a month late but a million congrats to you and your family. He is doing so well too!
AFU - we had some good news right before Christmas. DP's PET scan was clear :hooray: So that means the lymphoma is all gone!! He still has a few cycles of chemo to go but we are feeling very lucky and relieved that the treatment has worked so well. I am now trying to wrap my head around the worry that it might come back at some point. Still working out how to deal with that and still processing stuff that has gone on the past 5 months or so too but we'll get there. He will be monitored every 3 months for a couple of years and then at greater intervals up to 5 years.
As for DS, he is pretty good. Sleep is hit and miss but has been ok this past week. We travelled around the countryside at Christmas time back and forth a bit so he was all over the show and we had some really rough nights. One night he hardly slept at all, just grumbled and whined the whole time. DP and I nearly went bonkers because we were at his parents place and all in the one room. It was horrible. No idea why but it's just a bad memory now thankfully.
It is sounding like some of the bubs are in their own beds? Am I reading that right? I probably didn't go back far enough in the threads, sorry, but how do you know if your bub is ready for a big bed? I am starting to think that part of the reason DS is still waking at night (at least some of the time) is because he is rolling around and whacking into the sides of the cot. He never sleeps straight though so won't he fall out of a big bed? Also, he is not a climber and hasn't even tried to climb out of his cot yet.
Happy New Year to everyone!
What great news Kaz! I suppose it will always be in the back of you mind. Have you thought about speaking to a counsellor? It might be a good idea. THey can work with you about how the experience has been for you? You have had to be the strong person, maybe it it time for you to debrief.
E is still in a cot, but it converts to a bed. At the same age, J was already in a bed, but E will be staying in this cot/bed for as long as she fits. We will prob convert it in the next few months. No rush, as she is happy.
HOT HOT HOT here. It is killing me!
Hey team,
Been a while since I posted in here too. Will try and update as I'm on the computer for once, with two kids asleep, yay :cheer:
Tracy - thanks so much for the update! What a fighter little Matteo is. You must be just loving basking in that newborn glow. Well done hun on getting to 31 weeks and trusting your obs. Big hugs
Kaz - YAY, that is FANTASTIC hun :confetti: :leap: I have been thinking of you guys often and remember you in my prayers... try not to let the shadow of what may be hang over you too much, just enjoy this wonderful start to the new year.
As for beds - we moved Miss I when I was pg, for obvious reasons! But I would have had to move her out by now for sure, if I didn't have another bub... she is much too wriggly for a cot now, she is too big and also she can climb in and out, as she has proudly shown us with DS's cot!
So yes, she is a wriggler, so we have put the bed against the wall on one side and on the other side she's got a Target brand safety rail, to stop her falling out. It doesn't go the whole length of the bed, it only goes about half-three quarters maybe (not at home so can't check). We also bought a pretty cheap mattress (but still an inner spring) and have it under her bed. We pull it out at night time so if she does fall, she falls onto that. She's been in the big bed for almost a year now and hasn't fallen out. Touch wood! We're still not confident enough to remove the rail as sometimes we do find her smooshed right up against it... but its strong and holds her.
Lilima - I know what you mean about late nights. We struggle getting I down before 8.30pm at the moment. Combination of Christmas/travel/different sleep places/daylight savings I think. We've also began a bad habit (IMO) of laying down with her to sleep, as it worked to get her to sleep in the places we've been at over the holidays. I'm not looking forward to going home as she's in for a rude shock when we stop it!
I know what you mean about being in the wars. I is constantly banging things, tripping over, getting bruises... her poor little legs are covered!
Good luck with CC!!
Ellie - hope you had a good one with DH home! Gotta love that "No mummy, I want daddy to change my nappy!" LOL
Nai - how did you know about the molars? I keep looking in Miss I's mouth but can't really see anything??
Hi to Olive, shell, Malyna, Kailani, Det, Heaven, Ali!! :hello:
Not much to update here. We are still plodding along on the slowly slowly TT bandwagon. We let her tell us when she wants to do wees or poos, not much luck on the poos but if she's got no nappy on she will wee in the potty or toilet. Once the nappy is on though, she forgets! Ah well!
Down at my IL's beachhouse ATM with the kidlets and my ILs. DH has gone interstate diving for the weekend so left me here as I have the ILs on hand to help with the kidlets, which is great. Bit weird being here without him but its only til Sunday night. And it is beautiful down here which helps.
Miss I's vocab continues to increase at a rapid rate. She consistently amazes us! Her behaviour is much improved too - for the most part she has cut out the pushing/shoving and doesn't bite anymore which is great. She is starting to understand a bit more which helps.
She has started saying "Go away Mummy/Grandma/Grandpa/whomever", which I don't like. So today I explained to her that it wasn't nice and it made mummy/grandma/etc sad when she said that, so will have to see if she gets it.
Better dash and do some more posting while I have the internet, woo. 3G sucks down here...
Lilima - we had like two days of hot weather here and now back to cold, rainy and drizzle. I swear it's winter here all year round :( I'll swap with ya!!
OP - Fantastic news that Miss I is no longer shoving or biting. That must be such a relief. DS went through a stage of saying 'go away' too. Enjoy the beach! So jealous of you girls with beach house access and sunny weather. DP and I are planning a holiday when his treatment finishes and I can't wait!
Happy New Year.
Kaz - great news hun. WOOHOO!! What an awesome Christmas present.
Just take it one day at a time and enjoy the time you have with DP. Ain't no use worrying about DP having cancer in the future, all you do is waste your precious time now. A counsellor might help - have a chat with a social worker at the hospital for a local reference, or maybe find a local cancer support group.
Alex is still co-sleeping. He communicates mostly through body language and some words.. So he'll point to a picture of a monkey and make a monkey sound and a movement that goes with the sound, but won't say monkey.
lilima - All the best with the CC. Congrats on getting a place.
I'm so tired, my brain is refusing to function. I'm working hard on my book - I feel like all I do is edit. Back to the backspace, comma and quote keys.
Hugs and love to you all...
Happy New Year everyone!
Kaz - that is great news!! I know it's scary thinking that it might come back - my mum's words of wisdom for you as she has been living with my step father being in remission for over 10y is to "live life to the full in case it does come back but also live like it never will otherwise the worry will just disrupt your happiness"
Lilima - we are the same, DD1 has moved to a big bunk bed but Miss J still in the cot. I asked if she wanted to go into the little toddler sized bed and she said "No, Juji in cot!" So I guess until she says she wants the bed she can stay in the cot  I don't mind, she isn't the best sleeper so I can only imagine the disruptions being in a bed will cause!
OP - I knew they were molars because I could feel the point coming through  Although I sort of guessed they were coming because she was sticking her fingers in her mouth and chewing on them all the time and she did say "mouth hurt"
Malyna - well done on the Writers challenge! I am in awe of people who can write so I am very impressed!
AFU - we spent a week at the beach and had a ball. I'm back at work now and looking forward to CC starting again next week - Miss J has been clingy and whingy and been very "assertive" with her sister. She is hitting and pulling hair and they have just been fighting in general. She has spent a lot of time in time-out recently! I think some time apart will be good for them. DD1 starts school in 4 weeks so I am having some extra 1 on 1 time with her to get her ready.
Thanks Nai  I'll get there. I've put the short version of 'the story' in a thread in the plat/life member section if any of you are interested.
Hi everyone,
Congrats Tracey on the birth of Matteo!
Kaz, so happy and relieved for you
Happy new year to everyone!!
We are in the midst of toilet training here as well - although it's not really going anywhere yet. He doesn't like sitting on the potty unless he's got his pants on  He tells us when he's doing poos but not wees, and he often wakes up dry but will refuse to sit on the potty and just wee on the floor if I leave his nappy off. Oh well, we'll get there!
Second birthdays are coming up! Wow time flies - can't believe it's been 2 years. Would really love another one soon but it's just not the right time and we can't afford it :( All the mums in my MG are pregnant again and one's just had her second and it's making me so clucky! Anyway, good things come to those that wait, so here goes to waiting!
Catch up with you all soon (although I keep tabs on FB anyway!) xox
Hi everyone!
Kaz...such fantastic news!!!
Tracey...huge congrats on the arrival of your little Matteo xxx
Big hi to everyone...we have just moved house for the 3rd time since August and I am stuffed!!!! Girls are doing great...thank GOD!!!!
xxx
Elli - Far out! You must be sick of boxes!
Kail- I get clucky then I remember the early weeks and the clucky disappears.
Gotta go, DS wants something
Ellie- 3 times! How come you need to move so much! Glad your DH got outta the floods in time for xmas.
Holly- Are you still studying? Back to uni soon? Good luck with the TT I cant be bothered even trying yet! Lol.
Nai- I hear you on the kids fighting, I find the day Ash spends at CC and I only have Emily at home its so peaceful!
Malyna- How is your book coming along? Seems you have put soooo many hours into it, I hope one day to read it.
Hi to everyone else.
Emily is getting way more assertive here and she is such a drama queen. Makes me laugh some days.
Shell- I've been editing it for a while. I've written two others books, working on a third and poking around with handful of short stories. I'm hoping to send out query letters within the next few months. I'm actually a bit nervous about the query letters - they are so tricky.
Had a few tantrums - Alex hunches himself over on the floor, hiding his head, but he's generally pretty good.
Hugs to everyone.
xxoo
How is everyone? Who is our first bub to turn two??? I can't believe they are nearly two! Anyone from Vic fancy a catch up?
Hi girls, Sorry I havent posted in a while. I do keep up with everything on FB and read in here as well but always forget to post.
Det- so sorry to hear about your friend.
Kaz- Hope everythingwith DP is still looking good. I think you two/three need a holiday now after a very hard year in 2010.
I go back to work FT tomorrow. Had a break down about it last night to DF and he was so comforting to me and I am okay now. I am excited about starting the year with a new bunch of kids and having my own class but I am going to miss my baby girl so much. :(
Anyway better get to sleep. But hope you and all the almost 2 year olds are doing well.
I can't believe it's been two years. It's flown by.
Ali, sorry to hear you have to go back to work fulltime. That sucks.
AFU - not much new here... Alex is enjoying the creche at the gym.. I've put his name down at a couple of childcare centres, but no luck getting him in. I've just accepted the facts and stopped fighting it and moving on with life.
Still editing - will it ever be finished.
Happy second birthdays to our bubbies! Well done mums!! You all rock!!
hey girls
still here but been a bit over the place at the moment
surviving school hols - just lol
boof has started the terrible twos- gotta love the tantrums - just started here a couple of days ago- apparently its his iphone and its his tv and everything is HIS!!! Its funny as twins never went through this stage- he will get where its at again soon lol
He is coming along with leaps and bounds with his language and learning- gotta love sibling influences- he now can count to 10 and knows all his alphabet and can recognise all the letters- he amazes us with his letter recognition lol
i think we are the first 2nd birthday here- next wednesday the 2nd! Time flies !!! have no idea what to get him yet as still have the house on the market so extra toys and clutter are out-anyone got any ideas lol??
grr at house not being sold yet- had about 20 inspections and heaps of open houses- grr takes me about 6 hours to get the house up to scratch so i have to it when kids finally go to sleep and settle each night so dont get to sleep till like 4am those nights. then 1 hour after open house the place is trashed by the kids again grrrrr!!! not happy jan!!!

hi to everyone else
any more news on tracey and her little man??
mwah mwah mwa
Det -I'm so sorry to hear about your friend  Boof sounds like a very clever little cookie - J can't count to 10 but if DD1 says a number she will say the next one  I think you do have the first 2yo birthday - I can't believe they will be 2 in a matter of weeks! It only seems like yesterday that they were born.
Meg - I would love a catchup!
Ali - I hope you get a great bunch of kids this year to make F/T not too hard for you.
Malyna - Yay on Alex enjoying creche - hopefully a spot will come up somewhere for you soon.
AFU - I am busy preparing DD1 for her first day of Prep on the 7th Feb. She is so excited and she turns 5 at the end of her first week at school. Miss J is also going through the "mine" stage. Everything is "my book, my mummy, my dinner". She is really well mannered though which is so cute - "my dinner please mummy?" "thank you mummy". I bought her a hand puppet the other day and she said "thank you mummy, I love it" - I had a little tear in my eye it was so sweet. I can't believe how fast my baby has grown up :(
we're also going throught the mine phase lol!!
no counting but shes 'sings' along with DD1, shes talking more and more, loves playing with her sister and in love with her doll
no TT here, shes not ready but she is in a bed now! we got the little wrought iron one from ikea, so apart from nappies no baby stuff here anymore :(
still feeding, just this week ive managed to cut out the prebed feed at night..still feeding after brekky and feeding to sleep at lunch... getting her to sleep at night isnt fun but she is sleeping all night. shes loving swimming again after chrissy break.
cant believe my baby is almost two :( im very sad tbh but thats life, shes very cute but is going to be my problem child :o bites etc.....!
was lovely to see nai and cory last sat for lucy's memorial, better circumstaces would have been great but it was lovely all the same
soooo what are you buying for 2nd birthday pressies? im getting a runbike, a muddly ruffles skirt, i already have a tea set for her... theres something else but i cant remember what
Malyna im glad A is liking creche, i assume you're liking gym?
Det im so sorry about your friend
Ali good luck today at school, will be thinking of you today
Lilima what are you buying E for birthday?
Heaven how are you going darl, not long to go!!!
Det - Sorry to hear of your loss.... *hugs* Glad i'm not the only one with a booby monster still.. There will definitely be an acknowledgement in there for you guys..
Nai - hmmm.. enjoying the gym... I have my days when I think "ugh!" but on the whole, I go because Alex gets to play with the other kids, and some days that's the only motiviation I have to get my butt off the chair, and to stay on the treadmill for an hour.. but I'm starting to get bitten by the exercise bug.
Oh gotta go, Alex has taken off his nappy.... again... sigh! Even though i put them on backwards... Where's the gaffa tape?
Hi Girls,
I'm doing the Mother's Day Classic to raise money and awareness for Breast Cancer. My sister-in-law was diagnosed just before Christmas, had a mastectamy (sp?) and is doing chemo. There is a 5km walk or a 5km, 10km run.
I know you're not all in the ACT but I thought it might be a fun way of us getting together, walking/running in our different states. Anyway the website is mothersdayclassic.com.au
Love ya all!
Ok - Malyna, I'm in for the Melbourne one. I think we can do 4km or 8km so I will see if I can train up for the 8km run!
8km is pushing it for me! Nai I was looking at yr surfing beach pics on FB just yesterday thinking how active you were, was telling myself I should get more motivated and get mu butt doing stuff.
Malyna- waitlists for childcare can take ages, usually after kids go back to school is when there is a big turnover. At least the gym is giving you bit of a break atm.
Det- Im really sorry to hear about your friend, very devastating. Terrible situation.
Ali- How did you go with first day back at work?
I better get myself organised for Emilys birthday, was going to book rotunda at the local park, have BBQ, no mess to clean up then. Not sure on presents tho, thinking nice furniture for her room.
He peoples. hope you are all keeping well. E is now in a bed. It is the cot converted. But she should fit in to it for a while. So far she has been really good about going to bed too, and not trying to get up etc.
I am sure that there are a few of you that must be busy with getting ready for the kids going back ot school.
Happy birthday Boof. I think it must have been about now??!!
Happy Birthday to boof - for yesterday - 2 years have gone so fast!
Oh wow, it's that time already!
Happy belated birthday boof! Hope you guys had an awesome day Det.
I know DS is the last birthday in here but already we are not planning to do much. :hiding: There will be presents etc and I will probably make him a cake but it will be little or low fat or something cause I'm just newly back on the weightloss wagon. We're probably not having a party for him though. We go away on holidays the next day so I'm figuring that he gets over a week away at the coast near the beach and there's a pool and there'll be other little boys (3 and 5) to play with/follow around......is that bad? I feel a bit mean but honestly I don't think he'll know one way or the other. We will have a party with my IRL mum's group and we'll catch up with family at some point next month....I dunno, I feel bad but he doesn't really have any mates yet and pretty much all our friends live in far flung places......listen to me making excuses!!
kaz DD isnt having a party, were doing a family thing and thats it
DD1 has only had one party so far and shes 4, shes having one for her 5th though
Hi ladies
I'm such a bad buddy...
I haven't checked in for aaaages... I'm so sorry!
On the 2nd birthday front... We aren't having a big one either, we will probably have a cake at playgroup with her friends there... Then do something small, just our family. Can't be bothered doing a big one, we're in the process of moving, renovating, urgh!
We won't even have a proper back door. It's on order but won't be here for 5wks and our current "door" is a nailed on bit of wood. So we think no big party for DD!
Hope everyone is going well!
DD went to Boof's party at Maccas yest - she loved it! Flipping hot though!! Curse you broken air conditioner!!!!!!!!
So funny - the twins call her Boof's girlfriend  As we were getting ready to go they said "L, your girlfriend's leaving!!"
Happy belated birthday boof.
Al is having a thomas party this year.. but it's more of a friend gathering than an actual 'party' thing - like last year where we just put out a table of food and let everyone help themselves... Okay, I'll admit it, I like thomas the tank engine, and the party really is for me, so I get to play with a bunch of other little kids.
Kaz - nothing wrong with not having a party. I didn't have a birthday party until I was 16 - and that was four friends.
OP - LOL they have already been set up by the twins
Kaz - Miss J is just going to the zoo with family and 1 friend, then back to our place for cake so nothing big here either.
nai we're going to healesville on the sunday morning for DD's family thing, pity we're not going to the zoo! what day you going?
DH has shingles... again... last time I ended up working full time while studying full time.. this time, I don't know what we are going to do.
oh no Malyna :(
I haven't written in here for ages either!!
Malyna- :hug:that sucks, and your poor DH :(
Happy Birthday Boof!!
I can't believe it's been 2 years already!! OMG!!
We're not having a party either. Well, not really sure what will be going on and when the baby will come anyway. We'll just prob have family over for lunch or dinner or something and have her cake. Have to go and get her presents this weekend so we're ready!
Not much else to report here, I love this age!! It's so cute!! DD is talking heaps all day. It's so cute listening to her talk when she's playing and I love all the imaginary play, hehe. Yesterday we got home and she walks in and holds her arms out to the dog and goes 'Hello mate!!' pmsl. And she comes up to me 100 times a day to ask 'Mummy, doing?' (what are you doing?) with her head on the side like she's really interested, lol.
Oh no Malyna - He must get it pretty badly.
No party here. Just family coming over for a cake. I didn't do a 2nd birthday for DS either. As long as there are pics of them having their cake, that's all I want!
E is getting a balance bike, a teapot, and a shopping trolly. Oh - and J chose her a little farmyard Lego set from him.
happy birthday boof!
thats cute heaven!
lilma we were going to get DD a balance bike but may now leave it untikl christmas as they are too big (and she isnt short)
