Kaz - does the hospital where you had bubs have a physio dept. Our local one has free physio for women who had their bubs there for 12mths (from pregnancy). Physios don't work for me.. prefer osteos. but guess it depends what the issue is.
Ali - glad to hear the injection went well.
Holly - call the local MCHN if you have any concerns. I know BF babies tend not to poo all the time and can go for 2 weeks without a poop - hate to change that nappy.

Last night he was on for 1.5hrs, took him off, thought yipee he's asleep, put him down and bingo he's wide eyed.

Nai- I used sorbolene and just rubbed that into the scalp. I use it for everything!
Tarkine- Yep you've got a booby monster there, Ash used to be exactly the same thats why I was so for using the dummy straight off with Em, I hope your getting rest in between, you must like gardening cause personally I wouldn't consider that a break, lol.
Always settling for the night is my annoying dummy time, think I've replaced it 10 times. I tried the 3 times and your out but the screaming started, shes fed, been winded 3 times. She does this everynight!

nai i lather millies head with moogoo scalp cream then wash off an hour or so later inthe bath, but its hard cos she has lots of hair too.

I've been using dummies since about 5 weeks and they are an absolute godsend at times, but hoping to reduce them by 3 months. Posy is starting to reject them anyway.
Holly - will be interested to hear how you go at sleep school and if it helps you both get a better night's sleep. The March Melbourne mums are thinking of getting together in June. Let us know on the other forum if you'd like to meet up (if you're not too exhausted!) - will probably be in the city.
Tarkine - what have you been reading? I've been trying to read Barack Obama's memoir for weeks but find during feeds I just like to sit and stare (and do my pfm exercises ;))
DH and I went out for dinner last night to celebrate the 4th anniversary of our first meeting. Posy was lovely - very happy in her sling - and had one feed. DH and I knew very quickly that we would have at least one child together. Funny how you can just be so certain so early in a relationship. Anyway, we were feeling very nostalgic about our first date, first kiss, etc, etc ;)
Det - so great to hear about your successful trip to QLD and your nan's surprise. Did you hire a car with a baby capsule? I'd like to go to a conference in June but uncertain about transporting her around, etc.

Wish Alex was a dummy baby.. we tried it in hospital (when the nurses weren't looking) but he just spat it out... tried putting maple syrup on the end of it, and he sucked the stuff off and then spat the dummy out...
I think Alex didn't read all the baby books before he was born!!
He had a major upchuck last night - then a snack and slept from 9.30 to 3!! OMG.. I was in shock, of course didn't get to sleep til 1am, coz I was sure he was waking any second :rolleyes: then he slept til 7.30am!!

Shell, how did you go last night? We have found a dummy that L will take. He has been using it to go to sleep when it's hard to settle him, and then we take it out once he's asleep and so far he hasn't woken up wanting it. Saw the MCHN yesterday and she's happy with his weight. After gaining only 70g in 6 days, he gained 90g in 2 days this week - I just can't keep up! He's still 75th percentile for weight so it's all good.
Mhami, I replied in the other forum and yep I'm in for a meetup! Happy anniversary!
Nai, how come you have to get the cradle cap off? Sorry if I sound silly....but I don't know anything about it! Does it irritate them? I've heard it can be itchy? I think L has some too.
Ali, thanks for your support :) So QV oil and sorbolene seem to be a favourite I see! Does sorbolene have parafen/mineral oil in it though? My DP gets bad eczema and I think sorbolene made it worse :wall: He can't use anything with parafen/mineral oil.

Holly, the cradle cap looks bad, I think it can spread and also get infected so it's best to nip it in the bud. She also has it a little on her eyebrows :(
I went to book club last night and left DP with the kids - they were asleep when I left. Anyway Miss J woke up (which she never does) and was unsettled so he gave her the expressed milk I had left but it wasn't enough. So he tried to settle her for 1.5hrs until I got home. Boy, you would think I was the worst mum in the world theway he carried on. I was gone for 3hrs in total - my child is highly unlikely to starve in that time surely! Anyway I fed her at 11pm and she slept until 9am - she must have been exhausted.

Tarkine - enjoy those Twilight books! I saw the movie with my 12 y.o niece and she thought it was the best thing she had ever seen.
Nai - let us know how you go with the cradle cap. We haven't had it but did have sticky eye for a few weeks there. Very unattractive!
Rainbow Raver - I didn't know about the 8 June meet-up but always wanting to meet other mums. Are there any more details yet?
Posy is waking up for one feed around 4 am then eventually going back to sleep. For a while there she was sleeping through until 6. Very keen to have that happen again! But I know I am very lucky.

Hi girls,
Jacob had his shots yesterday. He was an angel all day and fed/slept well aside from one 15 min period of screaming. He had a raised temp for a while but it came down quickly. He is having another good morning this morning too - feeding well, feeding faster and going down straight away with no dummy. Lets hope his magic number is 8 weeks and this new improved feeding routine continues :pray:
Went to my first WW meeting last night and much to my surprise I didn't know anyone!! According to my scales I've already lost a couple of kilos since I started late last week whoooohoooo!!!! :clap:
I've also spent heaps of money on more MCN and still need to buy more fabric to make a few more. Shhhh......don't tell DP!!

Mhami - I saw the Twilight movie with my sister, I'm 28 and she is 30 :lol: But there were mainly tweens there (10-15 y.o.) and when it finished they were all saying things like "THAT WAS THE BEST THING I HAVE EVER EVER EVER SEEN" sorry but it required caps - they were beside themselves!!! My sister and I thought that was quite funny :D
Oh congrats on your anniversary! Sounds like you and DH had a great night and Posy was nice and accommodating :D

AFM: well we've migrated DD into a sleeping bag. Rugged her up a bit warmer last night and then into the sleeping bag. Went to the pub for DH's birthday - had a counter meal and then played some trivia, DD went to sleep in the pram (still in sleeping bag) with the cover on so it was nice and dark and slept the whole time we were there!
Then she woke as we were transferring into the car etc, so when we got home I fed her and we put her back down. She slept til about 1am, then a quick feed and back to sleep and woke at 5.30am. So that was pretty good!
DH brought her in for another feed around 8am, at which point I realised I'd been so tired the night before I'd done three feeds off the same side and the poor neglected BB was like three times the size of the other one and was leaking everywhere :o
Feeling very tired today. Really hoping Isabel has a good night tonight as tomorrow is my b'day and I don't want to be a zombie.
We've also got people coming over on Sat for a birthday barbie and I feel like I'm getting a cold... here's hoping I make it through.
And then there's Mothers' Day! Sigh!

Em had her needles today she settled pretty well after only couple mins crying and seemed ok for rest day. I'm happy only 2 needles, when Ash was that age it was 3 but seems now they've combined 2 of them.
Ash been bit naughty, we go library story time each week and today she kept running round being loud and being rude to me when I told her to be quiet, even library lady asked her 3 times to be quiet anyway in end she practically got asked to leave and so there I was trying to carry Em and drag Ash out while she had a tantrum over having to leave!
OP- Lol at feeding off one side, the other would've been quite uncomfy by that stage, you doing anything for mothers day?
Nai- Don't think men realise what we have to deal with on a daily basis. If Df has Em and she carries on it always 'what do I do?' or makes out its a huge deal, my comeback is always 'welcome to my world!'
Holly- sounds like his weight gain is fantastic there. How is he sleeping now?
mhami- sounded like a very nice relationship dinner, sling great to use to keep them quiet to enjoy a meal.

OP- What sort of sleeping bag do you have? I have a few, but hey are not till she is 6 months old. I think I need to get one for now though.

Tarkine - I used to do that. Stay awake anticipating. Not so much with this bub as I did with J though.
So the kids are playing tag team today. one will start up, I go settle them, then the other starts upo/ On top of that, E was awake on and off since 1am, so a tired mmmy today. Oh well - Thats life hey :)

total number of feeds overnite wed nite from 10pm - 6am= 6
total number of feeds last nite from 10pm -6am= 4
amount of time Levi has been asleep today= 45 mins and 10 mins x4
amount of sleep i have had since monday nite = 12 hours total!!!!

Oh god Det, don't tell me that we're just starting to make progress here with settling easier!
My white noise CD has actually been quite good, now when I see tired signs I wrap her, pop dummy in, put CD on, put her in the laundry where irs dark and she has been settling quite easily, still can't go into 2nd sleep cycle tho without alot resettling.
Meg- ikwym, I always find each day if its not one child giving me grief its the other!
Kaz- A couple kilos already is great! BFing will help too hopefully with dropping the kg.
AJP- slow down! That doesn't sound good, how are your iron levels?
Ash was bit off this arvo had a bit of a temp and just spent the arvo lying down, once panadol kicked in she was back to her crazy self.

Sorry, haven't posted for a bit. DD hasn't been sleeping very well during the day even in the HAB for the last few days!! And she's been up at night at least 3 times. But last night she only woke once!! Slept from 8.30 - 2.45 and then until 6.30!! So now I'm feeling human again I thought I'd come in here and post!!
I hope everyone is doing well!! OMG det I am not looking forward to 12 weeks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Went to the Dr the other day to talk about vaccinations and came away without having any! I don't want her to have them all and esp not all at once so the Dr is looking into which one's she can get seperately for me.
DD's christening is in 2 weeks!! Family is coming up from NSW which will be good! We have already picked 2 godparents and I just found out one of them isn't baptized and apparently they have to be. Great. So I don't know what to do about that, lie? Good start hey, lol. But I really want her to be godparent and I don't care she's not baptized, as far as I'm concerned it's just some stupid church rule, not anything from the bible!! Hmm.......
Well, that's all for me! Oh, and we have a new car!!!!! Finally. We only had a 2-door one, not fun with a baby! So we feel pretty flash now, haha.

DS is staying onernight at mil. woo hoo, then we will pick him up and do a mothers day arvo tea. J has been having terrible nightmares the last few nights. He actually isn't awake, but is screaming in his sleep. Poor little man! Anyway a night at MIL just might be enough to jolt him out of the routine of waking. It ususally does. Of course he then woke E up (although he obviously didn't mean it!) So she was up at 2:30 and 6. Then I put her in with me till 9, and DH got up with J at 8, and left for MIL. DH goes back to work on Monday after having the last month off. Boo Hoo! There goes my extra pair of hands (that is when he is not off on "boys weekends" etc)
I have already started to sell off my baby stuff on ebay. I know she is my last, so I have started selling bundles of clothes that she has grown out of. Also boys clothes that she won't wear.

With Ash they also had in the specifications that they need to be baptised and one person who is like a regular church goer, well they were baptised but none hadn't been to church service for years but they don't check up. We chose the ppl for a reason so that was most important in our eyes.
Meg- Ash has nightmares too, not fun getting up to 2 kids. I haven't been able to bring myself to sell baby stuff yet tho I know its our last, hoping my friend who has had 3 m/c gets pregnant and has a girl so I can give her lots stuff.
Anyone elses bubs react to needles? I've just found Em quite unsettled since, she has her happy times but then screamy times and harder to settle at night, waking up more, could just be coincidence tho.
Heaven- ikwym, I was thinking about how much stuff was going in at once, there like 8 different things she had, think the rotavirus might have upset her tummy or something cause she has been pooing alot more and seems unsettled in tummy.

Shell - I was told the rotavirus could upset the tummy a bit. Miss J didn't have any reaction but I know others have had a slight reaction with updet tummy and runnier (if possible) poos.
Det - eeek! I had better read the next lot of wonder weeks to prepare for that 12 week stage as we are nearly there.
Med - woohoo on having J stay with MIL. Hope it helps!
Heaven - woohoo for you too on the new car - what sort did you get?
Miss J has been getting better with her day sleeps but worse with nights - go figure! Her neck is so strong now and she even sat in the Bumbo seat when I put her in there for a minute. I think in a few weeks she will be ready to sit in it as she loves being able to watch DD1 and wants to see everything that she is doing. She just watches her and laughs - it's so cute.

millie is great!! shes such a lovely little bubba!! quiet content, only really cries after her bath when i give her tummytime and roll her onto her back to dress her :think: youd think she' rather not be on her tummy :lol: strange child!
she really should go into her cot now as the bassinette is too small but im stalling...
we get weighed on thurday, swimming for the first time tuesday (if i go buy some new bathers in time!!!)

what a man- the ironic thing is that when he is awake- he is not whingy just happy to be awake and taking everything in- at least he wasnt screaming lol
levi loves his bumboo seat- highly recommend this product- you can get them with the tray for free at toys r us or there are plenty of them on ebay as well
he sits up on the table when we eat meals - lol looks so cute eating his fist whilst we eat our dinner- i am sure he would have a go a food if we gave him a chance, but just gonna hold off a bit longer, but man its tempting lol esp seens he is feeding soo much at the moment

Emilia is still awake. Has been since 2:30pm. Now SCREAMING> I need 5 mins to myself. So she is just gonna have to scream in her room, as I HAVE HAD ENOUGH. DH is out for the evening, and I have had her whinging all day.

Hope DH is doing everything today and you are in bed sleeping.
Det- I've seen those seats quite cute they are, how much do they cost? I felt they were expensive. Em loves watching us eat it, she seems so mesmorised by it, she'll just stare at me during meals.
AJP- Yeah she seems more settled, just vomiting alot more than usual thats why I'm putting it down to the rotavirus. Keep up yr iron tabs and lots big juicy steaks!

I'm on my own, Df been out drinking all weekend, I can't be too hard on him cause he's not coping so well bout his dad dying, just think alcohol is not the way to go about things. So another dissapointing mothers day for me.

He took his dad out in a wheelchair to the footy friday night and it hit him then about how unwell his dad is and he just not really coping. His dad much same, very weak and lethargic and gets quite vague at times but he enjoyed the footy apparently, I knew the Bombers would win for him.

You asked about vax a while back, Isabel was really unsettled after the vax for a few days, grizzly and grumpy and had extremely pooey nappies too. She was in my arms on Anzac Day while we watched the footy with my fam and some people and she filler her nappy so loudly that everyone could hear, even over the footy! It'll pass...
AJP, I have no idea how you are doing it - two kids, low iron, you poor thing! I'm exhausted and I've only got one and normal iron... Hope you are feeling better soon!
Meg - how is little E today? Hope she is being a good girl for you on Mothers' Day.
Nai, sounds like J is going really well! Isabel is still working on her neck... the baby chiro has helped but she has to build the strength... How cute about the two of them interacting and DD2 watching DD1!

Someone asked about sleeping bags - we've got Isabel in a Grobag, 0-6mth size. Its almost to small for her - tight around the neck, lol, fatty bub!
AFM: Isabel is sleeping better at night, only waking twice, once around 11pm-1am, then again around 3am-5am. DH has been getting her up then when she wakes around 7am and when she goes back down she sleeps til around 9am.
I'm hoping the first wake up time will start to move back, last night was 1.15am, and maybe she'll only wake once.
Had people over for lunch and dinner for my and DH's bdays, looooooong day that started at 7am with cleaning :rolleyes:
I'm a bit sick too so feeling pretty average for my first mothers' day, ah well!

Det - whoohoo on finally sleeping! Levi sounds too cute.
Shell - Hope your day has been ok without your DP. It's such a tough time for him but sounds pretty tough for you too. Take care. With the shots, J was great on the day of the shots - sleeping and eating really well but he turned full-moon ferral the following day and we've had a few periods of ferral each day since.
OP - That's great that Isabel is sleeping better at night now and :rofl: about the poo! J has had two poos escape his nappy in the past 2 days - one was a sposie and one was cloth so it made no difference what type it was. Wonder if it's related to the shots he had last week?
Heaven - Yay on the new car!! We bought a new car before J was born because we weren't all going to fit in my old one. They're great.
Meg - I really hope E settled for you soon after your post. That's a long time to be awake :o and for you to cope with screaming - hope you're having a much better day today!
AJP - Slow down darl!! I know that's probably not possible but you need to find ways to take it easy and rest a little. Maybe push to get your iron levels checked sooner? They could be decreasing again :(
Nai - Where do you read about the wonder weeks? Have you got a specific book or is there an article in BB? I hope J settles at night better soon!

AFM - DP asked me what I wanted for mothers day and I said more sleep so he got up for the early morning feed this morning and gave J EBM and I got to stay in bed and sleep in to 8:30am!!! It was doubly good because he'd topped up J with a small bottle before he put him down for the night so I was in bed for about 12 hours and only had to get up once for the middle of the night feed!! I got about 5 hours straight sleep in that time and the rest was broken. :hooray: Feeling awesome today and we even managed to get a good walk in, even though the weather here is pretty crap today. DP is even cooking me dinner too!

meg- :hug: for you today with DH going back to work. Hmm...sounds like here at the moment, DD is not sleeping well during the day at all!! Just wants to be awake!! Will wake up after only 30 mins and scream until I get her up!!
shell- yeah, i don't think the minister will be able to check anyway, she's only meeting them 1/2hr before the service. I hope Em's feeling better after her needles.
Nai- a ford falcon, it's really nice, feels a bit flash for us after our little barina, pmsl. Feel like a family now we have a family car. DD is the opposite!! Getting worse with day sleeps and better with night. I don't know what's going on but she's really hard to keep asleep in the day I almost have to rock her the whole time!!!!!!!!!!!
AJP- ooh....I have to look into swimming lessons. DD has the cutest pair of swimmers!! haha. Someone bought them for her. They're so tiny she's probably grown out of them already and hasn't even worn them!
det- Glad to hear the sleep has improved again!!
OP- Your nights sound pretty much the same as mine, last night DD woke at 1.15 and 4.15. Thought 2 night ago she only woke once!!!!!! Bliss. I wish it would happen again!

Well DD still will not sleep anywhere but the HAB during the day and I'm over it!! The last few days she hasn't even wanted to sleep at all!! Wakes up after 30 mins and is so restless when sleeping. Why does she sleep fine in the basinette at night but not in the day?? I can't put her down :( she wakes up straight away. And if I do manage to put her down she will be awake again after 30mins. She seems to go into a deep sleep at night when I feed her to sleep but she won't feed to sleep in the day!! Arrgggggghhhhhhhhh..........what do I do!!!!!!!!! I want to be able to have a nap myself!

Kaz - the Wonder Weeks is a book about your baby and their weekly development across their first year. It tells you which weeks they are likely to be fussy, grumpy and unsettled. 11-12 weeks is a "wonder week" where they are likely to be fussy and sleep less.
Miss J has a new routine and it is not my favourite - she goes down at 7.30pm, wakes at 12.30am and again at about 5am. So I just get back to sleep and DP's alarm goes off at 6am and DD1 wakes up about 6.30am so I am basically now waking at 5am and not getting back o sleep :( Miss J on the other hand goes back down and sleeps until 7.30 again! She's not bothered by the other stuff.
I had a lovely Mother's Day - DP and the girls let me sleep until 8.15am (big sleep in!) and cooked me an omlette for breakfast. Then we drove to Ballarat to see my Mum and then back through Sunbury to see DP's mum and then to friends house where we opened a bottle of Pommery (real French champagne) which was a lovely way to end the day. I got some new runners from the girls and will try them out at the gym today.
Have to run - got to go to the Dr AGAIN for Miss J's granuloma. I just wish it would go away once and for all. I hope she doesn't have to have surgery like your little man Meg.
