Could you see where it was coming from? Was it in her poo? I would call your MHCN straight away.

Could you see where it was coming from? Was it in her poo? I would call your MHCN straight away.
Yeah it was like mixed in with the poo. Not much of it. She doesn't have nappy rash at the moment or anything. She does strain a lot when she poos though but I don't know why, how can it be hard to get out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Heaven definitely check that out!
Hi everyone, haven't had time to read all the posts sorry! Just quickly, not having a very good run here. L has bronchiolitis, been havibg coughing fits and coughing up his feeds and having a hard time breathing! My little sister has pneumonia and has been admitted to the Children's and my other sister is suffering really badly with a panic/anxiety disorder and has done something really bad and is in trouble with the law and is being held in remand :( Really sh*t mother's day!
Will try and pop in again soon. Hope you're all well and had a good mother's day xox
Hi all
Isabel slept last night from 7.30pm through til we put her in the car to come home at 11pm, she went back to sleep once we got home and slept through til 3am! That's almost 8 hours!!! Amazing!
Here's hoping she can repeat it tonight... silly me didn't go to bed til midnight! Will definitely hit the sack earlier tonight...
SJ - sounds a bit scary, definitely get it checked out!! Hope it has settled down by now. Sucks about the day sleeping, would you consider getting a sleep consultant person in??? They might be able to help!
Holly, you poor thing, what a difficult time  I hope you found some joy somewhere in the day.
Nai - sounds like a great one! Nice french champers! Hope Miss J's granuloma is ok after the Doctor today.
Kaz - sounds like a nice Mother's Day in your camp as well. Good work on the sleep in!
Hi to everyone else!
Det - gulp on the lack of sleep.. we are in week 12 this week.. I'm going to runaway!!
Hope you all had a good mother's day..
DS has been clingy today, just got him in the bouncer, but he's not happy about it... sigh.. maybe the 12 week thing is starting.
Hi girls just got back from the gold coasT! Been a busy 5 days! Ashlyn was pretty good in the car. On the way up she only cried without me being able to console her for the last half hour and on the way back she was a star and slept most of the way, now I jsut have to get to sleep tonight! :o Wish me luck with that.
She was a star up there and was so good for my parents when DP and I went out for my sisters 21st!
You girls have done so much talking so npot sure if I am going to be able to catch up but have been thinking of you all.
Now I have to get back into routine here and have a stack of washing, groceries, cooking, etc to catch up on!! It will ahve to wait until tomorrow as I am buggered!
Ali - Glad she went well.
Holly - I'm a little worried about you, as I also chat on the other thread. I really hope you are getting enough support. I know bubs isn't well, but I am concerned about YOUR health as well. Please pm me if you want a chat. I am happy to give you my number for a call, or come to your house, as I know you don't drive. I don't mind travelling.
tarkine- hope the clingyness is short lived.
OP here's hope for a repeat performance tonight.
Heaven - do you have cracked or bleeding nipples at all? E had blood in her poo, as she had done damage to one of my nipples. I just didn't realise that she had until close inspection. Did you call the MCHN?
I am flying solo tonight as DH is back at work. He will be home around 9am tomorrow. So far I have 2 kids in bed, but I am dreading them waking in the night. J still has nightmares, and my worst fear is that he starts crying while I am feeding. Then I am not sure what I will do?\
ETA - I meant to ask. Does anyone else's bub HATE tummy time? Seriously I get about 1 minute out of her before she cries hysterically, and i have to go rescue her. She will never learn rolling skills at this rate, nor will she develop her neck muscles like she is supposed to.
Hi everyone,
Im taking up BB's offer to get banned for couple of days.
I REALLY REALLY need to catch up on a few things and give the kids some attention!
Hope all is well with everyone, will catch up when i get back xx
I will miss you laura but I'll catch up with you on FB
lol it would be hard to miss me, ive been pretty slack with coming in here lately :hide:
Anyone feel free to add me on FB
my name is Laura Beere
ETA: Ali - Glad to hear you had a good break! I forgot to tell you about that 'THING' its all good... ;)
I thought that would be the case :) xo
Thanks guys. There hasn't been any more blood since. I don't have the number for my MCHN! I was going to go to the Dr if the next nappy was the same but it hasn't happened again. I read that it could be from straining and it's nothing to worry about unless it's persistent or a lot which it wasn't. But I'm still going to talk to the MCHN about it who I see on Thurs.
Well I have just got DD down in her bassinette :crossfingers: we'll see how long this lasts. Maybe I just need to be more persistent. I get too frustrated and give up and just use the hug-a-bub. Also, I feel like she won't get enough sleep if I don't use the HAB. She will wake up after about 30mins in the bassinette!! That's not enough!! How long does everyone else's bubs sleep in the day?? What do I do if she wakes and I can't get her back to sleep? Just keep her up til the next feed and then try again after?? She'll be so tired and cranky by the end of the day!! This is the only thing that's bugging me, day sleeps, otherwise she's a great baby, hardly ever cries or anything. But mummy needs her rest too!!!!!!!
Heaven, I'm glad it was a once off! With the day sleeps in the bassinette I just wrapped Miss J and persisted. If she woke after 20min I got her up and put her down again when she was tired. Yesterday she did 2.5hrs in the bassinette so she will sleep now.
Laura - I hope you get your things done and have a nice break. We'll miss you!
Ali - glad to hear you had a great trip. It sounds wonderful.
Miss J's granuloma is finally getting smaller and may only ned one more treatment - yay! Last night I ignored her sucky noises at 5am and she went back to sleep until 7am so I think she wasn't actually hungry or she would have cried - she was just in a bit of a habit. Hopefully she will be out of it soon. And the big news - she rolled from back to tummy last night!! I was amazed as she has done tummy to back but not the other way and DD1 didn't roll back to tummy until she was about 5 months old!
Hi all,
Meg - I hear you!!!! Isabel HATES it... I've tried playing music, singing to her, I put her over a mirror, I shake her favourite rattle, I praise her excitedly when she raises her head... but after a minute or so she cracks it and starts screaming.
I really thought she was getting better since our baby chiro sessions and I'm sure she is... but I look at video footage of my niece at the same age and she is on her tummy, laughing and looking around, pushing up... and then there's Isabel. Sigh!
I don't know what to do!
Ali - glad your break was a success! Sounds like you all had a great time.
Laura - have a nice break :D
SJ - Isabel hardly every goes through to the second sleep cycle either. I try - I tuck her back in, pop the dummy back in and tell her to go back to sleep, soothe her, sometimes it works, sometimes not. Yesterday she did 2hrs, that was pretty good. I figure persistence is the key - they will get it eventually.
Nai - yay on the extra sleep! I did the same at 6.30am and got a bit longer too. Woo! Yay on the granuloma as well!
AFM: feel pretty crappola today, got a cold. Anyone know what decongestants I can take that are safe while BF?
OP i dont think you can take anything! the joys of breastfeeding!!!
sara glad the blood has stopped!!
sometimes i persist with more sleep other times she puts herself back to sleep, she did 3 hrs on sunday, its hard with two as she we go out a bit.
nai glad the belly button is improving and wow on the rolling!!! sophie was the same never rolled b-t til around 5 months!!
ali glad you had a great trip!!! your mum must have loved seeing miss A!!
im ment to be taking millie to baby play at our swim centre today but i think she;ll be in bed when were ment to be there! may have to go next week
I feel so much better today, for once a decent night sleep, Em woke at 2am and 6:45 so feel normal! walking round Safeway yesterday thought my legs were gonna give way under me.
OP- I used a nasal spray and didn't even think to check if it was ok. oops, hope so! It helped me sleep at least, we had shocking colds here a couple weeks back.
Nai- Wow thats impressive! What a clever little girl doing all that rolling already.
Heaven- Our sleep cycles pretty much last 40mins to the dot, I go in and if she still looks sleepy I try resettling but if she is wide awake I just get her up. Usually try resettling for maybe 20mins and on the odd occasion it works other times she just wakes herself up too much, so just get her up and wait til she is tired again. Throws out the whole feed, play, sleep thing cause then it'll end up she due for a feed when she is asleep.
Laura- Enjoy your break! Yeah its amazing how much I get done if I stop myself from coming on here in the day, lol.
Meg- I've had that happen, feeding Em and had to get up to Ash, was hard work went in there with Em on the boob, trying to feed while cuddling Ash, wasn't easy!
Em hates tummy time too, maybe I get 2-3mins. Ash was never a big fan either but she still did everything and alot things earlier than other kids. I think thats how she learnt to roll cause hated it and rolled herself back onto her back. So not worried. I hold Em sitting up and she has great head control.
Ali- Sounds like you had a nice time, was weather good up there? i getting bit sick of the cold weather her in Melb.
Holly- Sounds like you are having such a hard time at the moment. Is there anyone you can talk to? Maybe take up Megs offer and give her a call, might do you good. You don't live far from me either so if you ever wanted to catch up for a coffee or something and unload let me know.
Not much to report here. We just taking each day at a time. Trying to explain to Ash that FIL won't be getting better, she doesn't understand she keeps saying give him ice-cream and he'll be better, very sweet.
I let E self settle in the cot. THen she usually does one sleep scycle, then cries and wants up. I try and resettle, but for no longer than 20 mins. Then get her up, and put her back when she is tired again. She has been doing up to 2 hours in the morning, but the afternoons, the max I get is about 40 mins.
E doesn't roll or do anything like that. I hope she isn't lagging behind.
Oh well - you can take Millie next week AJP.
OP - Get better quick.
Nai - Gl;ad it is getting smaller, and you don't ahve to go down the path we had to with J.
Hi everyone else.
Laura have a good break from BB
Hi Everyone!
I know I say it everytime I post ...but gosh I wish I could get on here more! It is so reassuring to read similar things going on for others and their bubs!
DH has had a late start today so I get the laptop for a bit yippee!!!
Anika is going great guns...sleeping from 8pm to 5am...making for one happy mummy! Has just found her hands and sucks them like nothing on earth...but I figure she would still scream if she was hungry...right??? And with that...she's awake and wanting the boob 'sigh'...oh to be able to do a decent post!!! Exxx
Heaven-how did you go this morning with Grace in the bassinette? Its hard isnt it. I have actually set up our portacot in the lounge room and have been putting Ash down in there during the day. she seems to sleep better where there is the noise of me passing through or the tv.
Nai-That must be a relief that Miss J's belly button is finally on the mend. Cant believe she is rolling already!!!
OP-Hope you get better. I think you can take nurofen or panadol to ease the pain. I think some nasals are okay as well.
Jols-waht do they do at baby play?
Shell- Is is hard to explain. Maybe a book might help. I cant think of one of the top oif my head but start a thread and I am sure someone will help with suggestions on how to explain it to children in ways they understand. Big hugs to you and glad you got some sleep.
Holly- Big  to you. We are all here for you.
Megie- DD is the same with her sleeps during the day as E. She doesnt self settle yet though. I think that will take awhile for us.
Ellie- That is great she is doing so well. Does she wake for an overnight feed at all?
Kaz- how are you? Glad you are getting out more now.
:hello: to everyone else.
AFM-today i have caught up on all the washing, shopping, did some cooking, cleaning and even had a bath this arvo while Miss A was asleep so I am now in my pj's for the rest of the day and am putting my one foot up (the other is bouncing A in the bouncer) and relaxing!
Just want to say HELLO ELLIE! Have been thinking about you often and wondering how you are. Great to hear Anika is going well. Your old belly buddies are still going on another forum. Can PM you the link if you want it.
Hello everyone else. MM and OP - Posy doesn't fancy tummy time much either.
Holly, where in Melbourne are you? Let me know if you do need anything, like Meg I am happy to travel if you need anything.
Ellie, great to hear from you. It sounds like Anika is doing great!
Ali, I hope you got to relax a bit.
AFM - I am stuck at home today with a sick DD1 who has a bad cough. Thank goodness for ABC Kids!! Miss J slept last night from 7.30pm to 6.30am woohoo!!! I woke hourly from 3am to check that she was still breathing - d'oh!
Morning all
Still feeling average today... have developed a cough, nice. Trying so hard not to cough or breathe too much on DD... I'm finding it very hard to be enthusiastic mummy today, when she got up this morning I put her in the bouncer and let her talk to her toys... bad mummy! Need to be more interactive... DH is only doing a half day which is good, he can play with DD and look after her when he gets home.
Nai, hope DD1 is feeling better soon. I'm terrified that I've made Isabel sick - not sure how I'll deal with that! So jealous of the sleeping, what a great effort!
Ali - I'm still in my PJs at the moment, think I'll stay here for the whole day. Feels a bit decadent sometimes!
Meg, sounds like our house - morning is pretty good, but afternoon generally only one sleep cycle.
Shell, I second the book idea, at my local library they have "situation" books that can be used to help explain difficult situations. Maybe check that out?
Ellie - what great sleeping!
Hi to everyone else!
OP - I hope you feel better soon! DD1 keeps breathing on Miss J and sticking her fingers in her mouth - if Miss J doesn't get sick it will be a miracle!!
Oh Nai how would you deal with both of them being sick??? I don't know what I would do!
op i hope your colds gets better soon! isabel probably wont get it as your body will make antibodies to it an pass them through your milk!!
nai hope G gets better as well, and keeps her fingers to herself!!! hows J's belly button?
ali sounds like youve been a busy beever!!!!
ellie awsesome sleeps there!!!!! :D
shell poor ashleigh it must be hard for her to understand :(
meg hows J's nightmares going?
hi sara, mhami, amy, holly.... hope i didnt forget anyone!
were off to the nurse this morning for weigh in will post aftert whta she weighs!
millie slept from 6.45-4.30 fed and is still asleep at 8.20!
I had Ashlyn weighed, etc yesterday.
She is now 5.35Kg, 59cm long and 40cm Head circ.
She has put on 600g in 3 weeks. The MCHN seemed happy with that.
Ashlyn also laughed this morning. So cute! :)
OP- how are you feeling today?
Nai- How did J go last night? Hopefully she slept through again. I had a chat to Miss A this morning and asked her to sleep through.
Jols- SOunds like some good sleep over your way as well!
Good Morning to everyone else! Hope you all have good days! :)
back from the nurse!
millie is 5.860g up 610g in 4 weeks
61cm long
39.3 head!!
i also had to wake her at 9am to feed and go to the appointment and she was so ready for bed again at 10am :o shes obviously having a growth spurt!!
ETA ohhh ali great stats!!
Can I ask how long on average everones bubs sleep overnight between feeds? I feel like I'm the only one waking every 4hrs still. Last night I tried dreamfeed at 10:00, made no difference, fed at 1am.
Another question how many feeds are they all having in 24hrs? We still have 7-8 feeds.
I need more sleep!
JOls- DD has a bigger head than Millie! and there is 3 weeks difference! Ashlyn is now in the 75th %ile for all stats so she is proportioned though and doesnt look like she has a massive head on a little body!
Shell- My MCHN asked me yesterday how many times a day i feed and I hve no idea i just said 8! LOL! Will count today.
Ashlyn sleeps normally 7pm till 11:30pm then wakes again between 4 or 5am. But it does vary. Two nights a go I fed her 3 times during the night. I dont bother with the dream feed as it makes no difference and she will still wake up an hour or 2 later. The 7pm bedtime works for me because then I can watch H&A and then DP gets home at 11:30pm so it works well. I wish she would sleep through the 5am wake up though!
shell millie normally does a long stretch, say 6.45-anything from 12am-3am, then can feed 4 hourly til morning, some nights we feed once others twice. last night was good! she still has 7 feeds a day yesterday she fed 2 hourly during the day.
ETA  ali!!!
millie is 55% for weight
45% for head
75% for lenght
Shell, come over here and have a big hug
We are still doing 4hrly over night too. You are not alone. I am desperate for more sleep and I think that's why I've gotten sick.
Let me count feeds yesterday from 6am to 6am... I think 10 :o We're feeding 2hrly during the day, or thereabouts, then 4hrly over night. Gosh, hadn't counted in a while... that's a lot of feeds. Maybe a growth spurt?
Last night I tried just resettling with dummy when she woke at 10.30pm but she kept crying so I fed... and she went to sleep, so she must have been hungry. At 3am I just gave up and fed. We are lucky if we get a long stretch at night. I tried a dream feed too and it didn't work so I'm just following Isabel's lead.
AJP, thanks, feeling better this morning, still stuffed up but not running so much. Sounds like she went well at the MCHN. Though Isabel weighed 5.8 at her 8wk weigh in LOL. You're getting some great sleep!
Ali, good stats for Ash! LOL that she has a bigger head than Millie :D
Isabel sleep about the same - 7pm to 10 or 11pm, then wakes between 3 and 5am. Then back to sleep til about 6 or 7am.
Isabel is off to be weighed on Monday. Will be interesting to see how she goes!
AFM: As I said above feeling a bit better but I think Isabel is definitely getting sick. She sounds snuffly when she feeds and hasn't really been interested in playing much today, just seems to want to feed, be cuddled or sleep. She's been sneezing a bit more than usual too...
She woke at about 10am just now, she was cooing in her cot so I left her for a bit, got her up at about 10.15, she had started crying, real tears, so I cuddled her and she stopped, then when I put her down to change her nappy she started crying again. So I was as quick as possible, then fed her and when she had finished she was looking at me and then just started crying. Put her up on the shoulder but no burp or regurgitation, just more crying. She settled down, put her on the floor to play but she just rubbed her eyes and started crying again so I've put her back to sleep.
Poor little poppet. I feel really bad for her.
awww poor chicken :( its hard on the little ones when they get sick
OP hun you must request a avartar from trillian!!!! im hanging for you to get onE
I requested it last night!!!
Soon hopefully..
Ooh the poppet is awake. Let's see if she is happier...
OP- DD is the same today. Maybe she is getting sick also. SHe is getting really upset coming off the boob but then doenst want to go back on, doesnt want the dummy, doesnt want to be put down, cried during nappy change (i have never tried to change a nappy that quickly before) and is now asleep in her bouncer. I cant wait to see your avvy as well.
I am also very upset today as I just had to stop my dogs from eating a baby blue tongue lizard. :( They were chucking it up int he air and barking so loudly at it. I am out there crying and screaming at them with a broom to get my dogs away, AShlyn was inside crying, I rang DP to come home. I wish they would stay out of our yard. I love them but my dogs think they are play toys and I cant handle them being hurt. The little bluey has a head injury with blood soming out the top of its head but it is moving. I'm so angry at my dogs. This is the second one in 3 weeks. And both have been babies.
yay OP!!!! hope isabel is happier!
ali awwww thats not nice doggy play :( poor lizard.
MCHN wants me to go see me Dr sooner rather than later too, worried about my fatigue and the fact i have bee teary lately, worried about PND again..hope it isnt :(
Oh AJP please go hun, even if just for your peace of mind. Get things checked out. If it is PND, you need to start talking to someone about it.
Let's organise a Melb meet up from this thread! I'm always a bit intimidated by the bigger BB get togethers... I like the idea of starting smaller. Interested?
Ali, you poor thing having to deal with that. I would be heart broken too. I'm so glad my cat doesn't bring presents home to me... that way I can pretend she doesn't kill anything. My old family cat brought home a pigeon one time, my sister and I took it to the vet to try and save it but he ended up putting it down, I cried!
Well Isabel is back down again. She didn't cry during nappy change and feed this time at least... she had a little play on the floor and I read some books and then the eye rubbing and yawns started. She only lasted 35 mins! She's still awake in her cot, gurgling and sneezing ( :( ) away. Not crying at least. How can they be so tired but then so awake in their cots?
Here's a question - how are all your bubbas hand movements going? Isabel seems to have started rubbing her eyes when she's tired, which must be a intentional hand movement but doesn't seem to want to grab at anything yet. Does that sound normal?
Nai- Thanks for that, I just get to frustrated, I don't think I'm patient enough so I just resort to the HAB :( Yay on the rolling!! How clever. Hmm......I don't think I give Grace enough floor time or tummy time.
OP- :( Hope you feel better soon. Sucks that we still can't take anything when we're sick!! DD is only learning about her hand still, she's fascinated with them and is obsessed with sucking them, she doesn't grab anything yet though either.
Jols- Oh man, 3 hrs in the basinette, bliss!! I just can't get more than 30mins :( The other day when I gave her all her sleeps in the basinette she was cranky all day and not her usual smiley happy self so then I felt like a bad mummy for forcing her to sleep there and making her unhappy.
Oh no, are you ok?? Do you feel like it might be PND again?? I hope not
Megie- How on earth do you get her to self-settle!! That would be so good. DD won't at all, it just snds up with screaming!!
Ellie- :hello: good to hear from you!
Ali- I got her to have 3 sleeps in the basinette the other day, they only lasted 30mins each so she was grumpy for the rest of the day :( Oh man, how did you get all that house work done, super woman! Oh no! Naughty dogs!!
shell- you're not the only one! Actually you have it better than me!! DD has been waking 3hrly for feeds overnight :( I don't know wtf the deal is atm but she's not having the one big sleep like she used to!!!!!! I'm so tired!! We still have about 8 feeds I think.
Got DD weighed today too:
5.84kg - up 310g in 2 wks
length- 60.5cm
HC- 40cm
She's only put on 155g a week this time, is that ok? Does it usually slow down about now? I'm used to her putting on about 220g a week.
Jols- are you feeling similar to how you felt last time leading up to PND? Hope you are okay. I think the tiredness is probably making you teary as well
OP- DD swipes at things alot and reaches for things, she has also started to put her hands near her mouth with control. When I was at the MCHN yestereday I was reading a chart saying they should have alot more time with their hands open now which I have noticed DD does.
Heaven- They are great stats. Still a great weight gain. DD sleeps mainly in her bouncer during the day. Probably not the best but it works and I am happy with it, she really likes the vibrating thing in the bouncer! Reminds me of an episode of Sex and the city! It is good she likes it in their as I sometimes put her on the dining room table and she watches me cook or iron even when she is awake. I think it was the best thing we have bought! It is my life saver some days!
Kaz- How is DS going with his weight?
heaven- That weight gain sounds great. More than Em puts on at weigh ins. 3 hour feeds don't know how you do it when I'm struggling with 4. I try stretch it out but end up too tired so just give in and feed.
OP- Sounds like Em she does the eye rub and holds the dummy in her mouth but won't grab at things. Melb meet-up sounds great, we could all try meet somewhere central, if weather was warmer we could've had picnic somewhere.
AJP- Yeah i think would be best to go see Dr to get checked over, better to know sooner than later if it is PND again, could be just a combination of low iron and exhaustion but better to know one way or other.
Ali- great weight gain there! Eww at the lizard, I wouldn't know what to do! That'd upset me too.
Nai- How is G doing?
Em's been bit off today too, been more unsettled and unhappy than usual. Must be something in the air.
I was thinking today how we've nearly made it to 3 months, well some of us already have gone fast in a way. I tell myself already made it this far and another 3 months time they should be all sleeping alot better (unless they are like how my DD1 was).
Ali- I have a rocker with the vibration too but I never put the vibration on, maybe I should. I always think wouldn't it make you itchy?? pmsl. Like when you fall asleep in the car with your head against the window and the vibration makes your nose itchy hahahahahahaha
shell- me too, I'm just so tired and i know feeding will put her back to sleep so i do it which i guess just perpetuates the cycle, lol, damn! I can't believe how much DD has changed in the 3 months and can't imagine what she'll be like in another 3 months!! omg, she's growing up too quick!!
