My DH wants to get the snip, but they have been trying to talk him out saying that he is too young. (he is 32)
My Df is refusing the snip cause for some reason he has in his head it'll make him less of a man. I guess no sex here cause to be honest I'm struggling with the 2 kids I have, god knows how I'd do 3. Maybe once they're in school but Df will be too old then!
Nai- Thats where that whole difference with men and woman, we told to do nothing we still have to do things or the place will fall apart, men literally do do nothing.
Poor J and her cold, its awful when they're struggling to breath esp when feeding and they can't do it properly.
Meg- Yeah thats way early, Em decided to be awake 6:30 today and I thought that was just too early, I layed in bed next to her tho while she chatted away and had a little nap.
My supply seems to have improved, no top up required today or yesterday, still waiting for her to go longer at night, 5hrs is the most I can get and thats if I give her formula at night othewise I'm lucky for her to get 4hrs.
we had first trip to hospital last night, we thought mille had croup :( but they think by the time we got there her air way had opened again, lucky too that they see wee bubs quickly! so poor thing was awake from 6pm-12am with only 90 mins sleep but slept til 7.30, then til 11.30, hope shes ok tonight!
Jols- how scary for you. My mum told me I had croup as a young baby 2. Apparently quite scary. Glad Millie is okay now. Hope tonight is better.
Shell- Men do get it pretty easy even though they whinge that they are hard done by. They have no idea what hard done by means! LOL! I dont know what our plan for more kids is. I def want another one but not sure exactly when. DP said he would like us to have more money which is understandable. You are doing a great job with your girls. Glad your supply has been better.
Nai- LOL at your DP taking it completely easy and doing NUDDA! They are literal beings arent they! Hope Miss J's cold clears up. You guys have hads a bad run with thecold in your house.
Megie- That 5am wake up must be awful! I dont think I could handle that. Hope you get a better nights sleep tonight.
OP- you get used to the co-sleeping and your body becomes less stiff. I actually sleep so well now. (touching some wood right now). In regards to DTD it still hurts for me as well but only in the beginning. Also way TMI but I make sure I am in control IYKWIM ;)
Tarkine- hope you caught up on the washing. Sounds like you had a great time away witht he family.
Kaz- what a great sleep from J!!! IS he in his cot or bassinette? Glad things are going better for you hun. Ash is still being a bit funny with feeding. I really think its my supply. I am struggling to drink enough water now its cold.
Raver- How was your trip? I know what you mean abouut losing your post its so frustrating. I am copying this before I send it!! Hope all is going well with you and the kids.
How much water do you girls drink a day??
AFM- Had mothers group today it was really good. Stopped in at work yesterday arvo so they could see Ashlyn again and I could catch up on the gossip!:) Cant really think what else. Atleast I got my personals done. Apologies to anyone I missed. Just did what I could see on this page.
:grouphug:
Hi all,
Might be putting co-sleeping on the agenda. Thanks for all the tips!
Had a good chat with Det at Mother's Group today about DD and her lack of good sleeping overnight, she says I need to listen to my instincts more and stop freaking out so much!
She is super, that woman :D That was until she called me a chicken for not going to the meet up yest, LOL.
We got three and a half hours between 1.30 and 5am today, then she woke again at 6am and we co-slept til 9am. That was nice. We're off down the beach house again this weekend so we'll see how we go.
Ali - it sort of hurts at the beginning for me too. Maybe I need to "be in control" ;) Re the water - I have a 750mL bottle that I refill at least twice a day, sometimes more. I'm trying to drink a lot more as my intake dropped off a bit.
AJP - oh no, poor Millie. Hope she is feeling better and gets some good rest tonight, poor thing.
Shell - that's great on the supply. Don't stress about overnight, whenever you feel tense about it just think of me and be glad you're getting 4 hours :D
Nai - poor DP, LOL! Did you tell him you didn't get to "do nothing" after your c-sec??? Poor little J with her snuffles. Lots of cuddles I reckon.
Meg, 5am is definitely too early! Hope that settles down soon.
Hi to everyone else! Isabel has gone down fairly easily tonight - in bed and asleep by 7pm, without needing to be rocked or anything, yahoo! We'll see how the night goes.
Wrote out a post and then lost it..argh
Ali - I drink at least 2L of water a day - have water stashed whereever I feed Alex
Shell - on the overnight feeds.
Nai - hear you with the DH on going overboard on taking it easy.. men hey?
OP - go with your instincts. Great Aunty is a nurse who looked horrified when I said I cosleep with Alex, just like the MCHN nurse did. I just sit there and say whatever with placate them and then do what works for us. I'm getting whiplash from all the different opinions on everything baby.
AJP - hope Millie is better
meg - 5am?! I'd like to say is there such a time but I now know there is such a time :D
AFM - Alex has been clingy today.. spends hours a day on the boob. i had to hand him to the lady in centerlink yesterday, because he didnt' want to sit in the pram while I sorted out the stupid family assistance crap. Of course he went all quiet when he was out of the pram looking around.. remind me to kick DH in the behind, for getting Alex started with this manovre!
Hi Ladies
Just popping in to say 'Hi' and see how everyone's doing? Hope all mums and bub's are doing well...ground hog day here lol...all in all...doing ok.
Exxx
Meg- Wow, that is so special having a christening gown that old!! DD wore the one my brother wore who is also her Godfather.
shell- it feels like my supply has been down a bit in the last few days too but I think it's just coz DD is having a growth spurt and feeding so much and also that I'm getting a cold and not enough sleep.
det- Thanks det. How long does this last? Will it be over soon?? I need sleeeeeeeeeeepp. I feel like a zombie. I have 4 mouth ulcers and now am getting a cold!! Great. I thought the MCHNs were supposed to tell you no solids until 6 months?? Yay on the rolling!! Clever boy!!
Kaz- omg what a great sleep, I'm so jealous!!
tarkine- good to hear you survived the outlaws
OP- Poor DH has been kicked out of bed for the moment while DD is being so annoying, lol. He's on a mattress on the floor When this growth spurt is over he can come back but atm I have her in with me so i don't have to keep getting up or turning the light on to feed her. I'm like you, I don't have enough room and feel all stiff in the morning with her next to me so I need more space so I can move away from her!
Nai- aww....hope the cold goes soon. I have one now and I really hope Grace doesn't get it!
Jols- omg how scary!! I don't even know what croup is!!
Ali- I have no idea how much water I drink but not enough I don't think. Wish I had a mothers group!! I'm going to start going to the ABA meetings I think.
ellie- hello!!
Well, I was soooooo tired yesterday that DH had to have a sickie, lol. I was all dizzy and he said I was slurring my words, pmsl. So he was too scared to leave us alone. haha. So I got to sleep all day yesterday and am feeling better now. I hate this 12wk period!!!!!!!!! omg.
Jols - how scary for you! Is Millie ok now? I remember the 2am rush to hospital with Genevieve - it's awful and we are only 10min from the Royal Children's but it feels like it takes forever :(
Megie - I thought they only tried to talk men out of it if they were under 30 and childless. Nobody tried to talk DP out of it - but he is 40
Shell - good to hear your supply seems to have improved!
Ali - I'm bad with water too. I always forget and then end up drinking 3 big glasses at a time to make up for it.
OP - LOL at Det calling you chicken ;) Next time!!
Heaven - hope you get some sleep soon!
Hi Tarkine & Ellie - good to see you both!!
No news here - have a busy weekend with a wedding and 80th. Fun fun fun!
Oh also, RLT can help with milk supply if you have any left from when you were pregnant!! I just found that out. But I was drinking it coz I actually like it, hahaha. I still have a bit left.
my supply has been bad this week too with millie been a little off, not feeding well with a stuffed up nose etc.. untill yesterday when she fed well then slept 11 hrs over night and man my (.Y.) were HUGE!!! i havent been that engorged for ages!! had to feed her one side and express the other, then she slept anther 3 hours so the side i expressed was full again!!
the hospital was great, though hoping thats the one and only time i do night hospital trip!!
nai sounds like a busy one! have fun!!
sara sounds like your very rundown are you taking any vitamins?????
sorry for the selfish post
Jols- OMG 11 hrs over night. When is it my turn!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes, very run down :( I have been slack with taking my multivitamins and iron tablets. Off to take them now, thanks for the reminder!!
:hide: she was up late the other night with the hospital visit so i think she was still getting over taht, im sure i'll be up twice tonight!
sounds like you also need some viatmin B, so get into some vegemite!
I am home alone! Sent Df with both girls this am so I could go right thru the toy room, and tidy it, throw stuff away, all done, sorted all the baby toys into one tub, looks alot better. Df was bit anxious bout taking them both, lol, tried to talk me into keeping Em here but I have to do it with both everyday so he can learn, tho he nearly left without the nappy bag, without sending Ash to toilet first and putting shoes on her!
AJP- How is Millie? Hospital visit would've been scary, glad she sorted herself out quickly.
Heaven- How are you doing? Does sound like you're quite run down. Bit scary you slurring your words. had you eaten? You could've had low sugar levels.
Tarkine- Hows that booby boy? Hope he is giving you a break.
Ali- Every day I tell myself I'm going to drink a glass water each time I feed but never happens I really do need to drink more but being cold I don't feel like it, want cups tea instead.
OP- Ikwym, I find it easier to trust my instincts 2nd time around just cause I guess I feel alot more confident, with Ash I was always second guessing myself cause every man and his dog had an opinion on what I should or shouldn't be doing.
I am so stiff and sore from my wii fit but it is alot fun and get fit at same time without having to leave house. Just not happy with my body, don't really want to lose weight as such more lose inches and tone up those problem areas (bum, thighs, hips) and get fit. Might measure those areas weekly just so I can see if I am making progress.
Jols- eww.....vegemite, lol.
Shell- hmm...yeah I think it was before I'd eaten. LOL at ur DH trying to get ready.
Well, I think the growth spurt is over!! Thank God. Last night she slept normally again, 5hrs, then 3hrs, then 2hrs or something. Feeling more rested. Now to get rid of this cold. I hope she doesn't get it!!
Ali - i should have said that I drink really weak cordial and keep a 2L jug in the lounge where I feed during the day and sometimes I'll go through two of them and othertimes, I'll be lucky to get through 1/2 a jug.
Heaven - glad the growth spurt is over :D
Shell - well done on getting DF to take both kids. Booby monster is going good at the moment - only 2 or 3 wakes during the night - settles down anywhere between 6pm and 9pm and then sleeps til around 1-3am then up again at 5am and then again at 6-8am. Still catnapping during the day on me (when I put him down he's wide awake). So I watch loads of movies (drives me crazy but am getting used to just letting my impatience and my need to do something all the time just go). Think his teeth are starting to move, coz sometimes I feel sharpness when he's feeding, and he chomps.
What sort of car seats have you girls got?
Bought a plaster of paris hand/feet impression kit today - now that's going to be fun!!
Hi girls!
AJP - Glad Millie is ok. That's a stress you could've done without!
Shell - WHoo hoo on a morning to yourself to organise things.
Nai - Hope you enjoy your social weekend and that Juliette gets over the cold soon.
OP - Hope Isabel sleeps better for you when you're away this time.
Tarkine - You lucky thing! I keep meaning to hire out some movies to watch while feeding. Daytime TV sucks! So did your pram arrive finally or was that the loan one you were talking about at C'Link? Car seat - can't remember - think it's a safe and sound. It's not a capsule. It's black! Like that matters
Heaven - Get those multi's into you girl! You sound very run down. Take care. Hopefully now the growth spurt is over Grace will sleep longer for you at night. Apparently the 3 month milestone can be a real turning point for lots of babies.
Ali - What was it like going back to work? Glad you enjoyed your mothers group darl. Jacob is in a basinette in our room but he wiggles around so much and is sleeping much straighter so he's fast running out of room.
Ellie - good to hear from you!
Meg - Are you still off to sleep school? You'll have to share all your tips!
Who have I forgotten? I did all that from memory - sorry  I'm sure there's someone!
AFM - How quickly things change - last post I was carrying on about how well J slept....today he has not slept since before midday!! :o He had one 15-20 min nap in nearly 9 hours. He is wanting to feed every 1.5-2 hours. He is generally ok when awake - gets most grisly when he is in his basinette. This has been going on for a couple of days now and he is feeding a bit more at night too. I've tried white noise, the torch aimed at the ceiling, rocking, dummy, topping up, patting....nothing is working. His eyes are literally hanging out of his head tonight.
On the upside, we had a presentation at Mothers group last week about toys we can make for our bubs that focus on visual and tactile stimulation so I went shopping today for all the supplies! Still have more nappies to make too  There aren't enough hours in the day. I take my hat off to all of you with more than one child. It's no wonder everyone has a cold! Hope everyone gets a great sleep tonight
sara  about vegemite! i take it your not a fan!!
glad grace slept better for you last night!
shell im liking that you sent DF out with both girls, i think its time i did that to DH
hows ash going with TT?????
tarkine car seats we have in DH's car a s&s meridian convertable and in my car currently a s&s capsule, soon to be meridian, sophie is in maxirider.
were having millies hand and feet done on tuesday at twinkle toes!! cant wait, we had sophie done at 15 weeks so getting milllie done at teh same age!!
kaz you jinxed yourself  what toys/stimli are you going to make?? please share
ARM millie seems good, still a little junked up but oh so cute  loving her!!
Kaz - the pram is the one that Babyco leant us from off their showroom floor (after I kicked up a stink) - we've had so many flat tyres on it, that we ended up going out and spending money on the darn thing - DH is planning on swapping out the thorn proof tubes before we take it back - at $20 a tyre they are pretty darn expensive!
Tarkine - that is ridiculous beyond words! I think they should give you the pram for free for being so very patient with them.
AJP - This morning I made up clear containers (small water bottles and a round jar with different levels that screw together) with coloured water and little coloured beads and gold shapes that float. Its all superglued in there! This afternoon I'm hoping to keep working on a cloth book. All the "pages" have different colours or different textures (silk, corouroy, terry, velvet etc) and I'm going to superglue foam shapes, wool, letters and that fluffy feather wool stuff to some of the blank pages and also put different material between the pages - so sewn inside. Things like shredded paper, sponges, netting etc. I haven't sewn any of it together yet though so I'm hoping it works! I also want to make a mobile for over the change table for when he gets 'difficult' - this will be out of CDs, beads, fishing wire etc. There's other stuff but I haven't got to that yet! I hope Jacob plays with it all. I'm a bit worried he won't like them for some reason
AFM - Jacob slept really well last night and of course I kept waking up and didn't sleep quite so well :wall: He slept from about 10:30pm (finally!) through to 5:30am. He is up now but has had a 2 hour and a 40 min sleep so far today so it's already better than yesterday. Hope you're all having a great weekend girls!
Kaz - Glad the zzz's have been better today.
Shell - great that you can have some time for yourself. I hope you get ar est as well as cleaning up the house!
AJP - Glad Millie is doing well.
Tarkine - I would be so pi$$ed about the stroller.
J is off at the zoo with my parents today. I am sure he is having a blast.
I had my high school reunion yest. A bit strange 15 years on. Was good to see some of the girls I went to school with thouhg. (I went to a girls school)
Ok I just wanted "birthday" on Foxtel and when the baby was born, I burst into tears. The ladie's birth was pretty much the same as mine.
Meg- I love all those shows, always get teary watching the births. You been seeing all the drama about Jon and Kate? Everyone is watching the show closely now.
Kaz- Ooh thanks for that, I reakon would be fun to make the feely book, think even Ash would enjoy it cause she still loves when I borrow from the library all the feely ones. I better get creative, I could get Ash to help me make things for Emily.
AJP- Yeah TT going well, still have the occasional accident but overall doing well, doing poos as well cause we started the sticker chart as a reward.
Tarkine- You should also get tv series that you want to see, I been catching up on scrubs during my feeds.
Em been bit unsettled last night, just wanted to suck constantly either on the boob or her dummy so not much sleep plus sat night seems to be when the neighbours get noisy, talking at top voices in the street, car horn tooting at 2am, and I actually live on a quiet street, its the kind of street you only drive down if you're going there cause it just leads back to where you came from.
:grouphug:
:hello:
Shell - My neighbours had a party last night too! Also E has been doing the same. Just wants to feed and feed. I don't feel I have enough to keep up. That plus the catnapping with no proper day sleep. I have had a headache for about 4 days now. And a runny nose. Just not feeling myself.
Yep I have been following John and kate. Looked it up on the internet for more info. There is talk that it is a stunt to make people tune into the new series. But I dunno - I think I too would go insane being married to her. She is a bit full on
Hi girls,
I am a bit exhausted so will do personals tomorrow but had a great day at a christening for my cousins daughter and seeing some family that I ahvent seen in ages. Ashlyn sleeping pretty well the last 2 nights. She went down at 7pm woke at 9pm, I topped her up with a feed seeming she was awake and then she woke at 4am but instead of feeding her I put the dummy in to see how that would go and she fell back asleep until 5:30am so she actually slept 8.5hours without a feed! She then fell back asleep after her feed until 7.
How many feeds a day are you girls doing now and how far part are your feeds during the day? I think Ashlyn is atually only really doing 6-7 full feeds a day. Need to take her to the MCHN this week for a check up.
Hope you are all well. Chat more tomorrow as I am exhausted and need to go and cook dinner.
:grouphug:
Meg - HS reunions are a bit weird. I remember at mine, I had heaps in common with people I'd hardly had anything to do with at school and the people I hung around with at school I had less than nothing to say to. It was bizarre! Hope the headache nicks off soon.
Shell - That's a great idea and killing two birds with one stone. Getting Ash to help make the toys would be heaps more fun than just doing them by yourself like I am. I just finished platting a multicoloured woollen 'snake' and stuck it on a page. How annoying about your neighbours! Who toots their horn at 2am? Seriously.
Ali - Jacob feeds between 7-9 times a day. Occasionally 10!! I do the dummy thing overnight too. It's mainly to give me time to go to the loo but sometimes he has fallen asleep again by the time I return.
Quick question - aside from how many feeds a day your bubs are doing, how long do they feed for? Jacob seems to have gotten really quick all of a sudden. He will feed 5-7mins on each side then pull off crying and carrying on. Won't re-attach to the first side for love nor money (even though there's still milk in there) but will immediately feed from the second side when offered. I can't even usually get a burp out of him until the end because he just screams. So the feeds are lasting 10-15 mins and he will just cry if I continue to offer either side after that. Does that sound normal and like he'd be getting enough? He is gulping steadily the whole time he's on.
Anyone else's bub recently discovered TV? Jacob will stare at it for ages. Not sure how I feel about that!
Kaz- Yep sounds like Em, feeds can be so short sometimes I just think she can't be finished but she must be cause I just can't get her to keep going. Only at night she feeds for longer, prolly being for comfort also where in the day she's too busy to feed for long.
Ali- 7 feeds here generally. Hoping to get rid of one of the night feeds tho. usually 3 hrs apart in the day, sometimes she might want earlier and other times if she is asleep might be a bit longer.
Meg- you sound quite run down, its great your mum helping out and doing things with J, hopefully gives you time to rest. Hope you get into sleep school soon and they get some plan sorted for you.
Thanks girls. Good to know other similar aged bubs are doing the same thing. He is weighed again on Tues so that should calm me down too!!
Speaking of calm, whoever said feeding babies in the bath was relaxing???? Tried it tonight for the first time because Jacob is growing a bit too big for the baby bath - he wants to kick and sends waves over the side!! Anyway, he was starting to grumble for a feed so I started feeding him in the bath. Had a thought that I hoped he didn't poo and 20 seconds later......he pooed! All over my leg!! It was so gross! So then DP got him into the shower then out of the shower, then I got in the shower, then Jacob spewed all over himself and DP while DP was drying him so everyone cycled through the shower again. Phew! The bathroom looked like it had been hit by a tidal wave by the time we all finished. At least the floor got a wash  Won't be trying that again in a hurry.
 Kaz - that is hysterical! I learnt my lesson doing that thinking that I would give Miss J a quick feed during her naked time and ended up wearing it - not my finest hour!
Well it looks like DD1's childcare has just had its first confirmed case of swine flu so I won't be sending her tomorrow or probably for the rest of the week - I hope we all survive the isolation.
thats a classic kaz  !!! i dread every night when the girls bath together that millie is going to poo!! hasnt happened.... yet...
nai thats a little too close to home, id be keeping her home too!! we cant have you in quarantine for saturday nights meet up!!
shell glad ash is going well with TT sophie is too!!
ali glad teh christening went well
meg how did j like the zoo??
who asked about feeds? we feed 2-3 hourly during the day at teh moment and 1-2 times over night, she had 6 today feeding 3 hourly!
millie has ring worm on her face  just a small patch
Right, time to do this!!! (im catching up from as far as i can see back.... im sorry if i miss anything :(

heaven - Glad to hear everything is going back to normal for you! hopefully you dont pass that cold on!
tarkine- i have a mothers choice car seat i have used it for both kids and i love it :)
those plaster thingys are fun!!! goodluck lol what a PITA about the pram!

hellooooo to everyone else!!!
AFM - ok as you all know DF (now ExDF) and i split up, but you know what i have never been happier!! things are going really great!
Bella is a little trooper - smiling every chance she gets!! but i havnt heard her laugh just yet!
no signs of her rolling over just yet either!
Logan is turning 2 on Wed :( i cant believe my little man is growing up soo quick.
I had a birthday party for him on Sat and he loved it! (posted pics on facebook)
I actually got to the gym today, i felt so good afterwards! I have been on a diet and using the biggest loser shakes (YUMMO) and also taking duromine and i have lost almost 3kg!!! WOOT :)
To all you ladies that are still BF'ing, i think you are amazing!!!!! xxx
hi there girls
would you all mind if i jumped in here? i've popped in and out a couple of times before, but i'm begininng to feel like i really need some support with my little one...
can i ask you guys a couple of questions...
1) how many sleeps a day is your baby having?
2) how is the main way that you get them to sleep?
3) how long are they awake for between sleeps?
sorry to be such a pita, but as you can probably guess, we are having real sleep issues here and i really need some help and support xoxox
Sure RF - you can jump in!
1) how many sleeps a day is your baby having? 3-4 depending on length - 4 x 45 min or 2 x 45min and 1 x 2hr
2) how is the main way that you get them to sleep? Normally BF to sleep and transfer although she will suck her thumb to self settle if I'm not with her eg, if DP is looking after her. She will also self-settle in the car
3) how long are they awake for between sleeps? Anything from 1hr15min to 2hrs.
AFM - DD1 is now at the GP getting tested for swine flu as she is exhibiting symptoms - fingers crossed it isn't!! If it is I will be under quarantine for a week :(
thanks for your reply nai
my ds seems to get super tired after about 45mins and it's doing my head in! i can't get him to self settle at all.
omg i'm so sorry to hear about your dd1. when will you get the results? what will it mean for dd2? i really love your girls' names btw, v pretty.
Nai- how stressful for you guys. Hope all will be okay and little VV will be okay
Kaz- you had me in hysterics! I had often thought about that as I bath with DD almost everynight. I better touch some wood tonight that it doesnt happen!
Rainforest- Glad you made it in here again. With day sleeps it is really hard to give an amount as DD is a major catnapper and beause we dont have a set routine at home with sleeps she just sleeps whenever, whether its in the bouncer, car, pram, my arms.I get her to sleep by feeding, or dummy or bouncing her in the bouncer or craddling her really tight against my body. Mainly in the bouncer though as then I dont have to worry about putting her down. We have one of those vibrating bouncers and she loves it. Minimum 1 hour awake, mostly 2 hours though! :o Night time we co-sleep and this works really well & seems to be getting better each night. Hope you & little Jimmy are well. Its hard when you are tired.
Heaven- I am starting to feel like you a bit where it is all of a sudden hitting me when I have to get up in the morning just how tired I am. I feel asleep on the lounge last night at 8:30 for 2.5hours!! Should have gone to bed but had things to do
Jols- How have you been feeling lately?? Have you seen your doctor yet? Let us know if you need to vent or get anything off your chest about how you are feeling.
Holly- how have things been over the last week or so? I really hope things are getting better for you guys
Raver- Good to hear from you. It must be a real tough time but I am so proud of you for looking out for you and the kids. Well done on the weight loss. Must go check out your pics of Logan on FB.
:hello: to everyone else.
AFM- Had a shocker of events last night. Okay this is long....
DP was out and I was at home wand decided I would go have a bath with DD as she had done a massive poo that needed to be changed and it was about bath time anyway. So I turn the taps on and start running the bath, then I get undressed as I would rather me be cold for a few minutes than DD. SO I am naked and I am getting DD undressed ready to get in the bath. Nappy off and cleaned and just her dress and cardy on. Someone knocks on the door I yell out "Is that you DP" no response, ignored it but the dogs were going off and the person kept knocking. I put DD in her cot so she is safe with no nappy, turn the bath water off, get a robe on & go to the door, I yell out again asking if it is DP as I saw he had forgotten housekeys "Its your neighbour Ed" (this guy is just like Dr Harry Cooper) I say not a good time right now Ed (hadnt even opened the door) He says I'll come back in 20min, I say "try an hour". Arrrh get rid of him, then I notice that Max my dog has just thrown up all over the treadmill!!!!! gross!!!!!! Put dog outside and quickly get some paper towels to clean it up as best I can whilst half naked. GO back to running the bath and to get DD. Well she had done a wee on the sheets in her cot!!!! More washing!
I called DP and said get home now as I was wondering what would go wrong next!! Nothing did but geez that was the most hectic 30minutes I have had in along time!!!!
Oh and to top it off, I decide that I am going to have a stay in bed morning with DD as much as I could as I was so tired and someone knocks on the door at 9am (i wasnt expecting anyone and was so tired I decided I would just ignore it) The dogs were going crazy for ages barking so i decided to look out the window and saw MIL's car! grrrrrr! I am sick of this woman just popping over so I decide **** it! I am not answering the door (i know very naughty), she kept persisting so i started to run the shower so she would think I just couldnt hear her because I was in the shower (the things you do to avoid your MIL). She must have rung DP as he came home to let her in! I was so annoyed. She wanted DP to fix her car, to bad if DP had other jobs to do. So she had to stay at my house for 4hours!!!!! DP is going to have a chat to her about just dropping by.
Well that was more about me than I expected but needed a little (or big) vent!
rainy about time you came back ;) !!!!!!
hun millie is doing around 5x45-60 mins sleeps a day she lasts up for anything from 45-75 mins before needing to go down, shes wrapped and normally takes a dummy to go to sleep, except overnight when she settled without it after feeds during the night!
nai i hope she doesnt have swine flu
ETA holy moly ali!! need to go read your mammoth post!
Nai hope it isn't swine flu.
Ali - OMG! I'd be giving MIL baby duty for 4 hrs or get her to do the washing/housework - put her to work if she insists on popping in unannounced!
Rain - was just remembering a friend who could get her daughter to sleep in a swing. I gave up on Alex sleeping during the day - I'm happy if he sleeps at night time, and just naps during the day - of course he'll sleep in the car and in the pram! - have you tried putting bubs in the pram and just going out for a walk, over some bumpy ground?
Alex feeds can take forever - he falls asleep in the middle of them.
he does like TV... he has a tendancy to leave his head looking right, so I'll put him in front of the TV, so he has to turn his head to the left to watch it (hehe).. but I don't have the TV on during the day (except to watch movies) and I never put him facing the TV (he's always on the side to the TV)
Sorry for the haphazard posts.. I've got a lurgy and am feeling like crap. I just want to sleep all the time and I feel like I'm coming down with a cold or something).
Gotta go and collect DH from work - his ankle is cactus and he can't walk.. just typical.. just got Alex down 20 minutes ago.. MEN! ARGH!!
1) how many sleeps a day is your baby having? Mostly around 4 or 5 40/45ish min sleeps2) how is the main way that you get them to sleep? She self settles MOST of the time in her cot, but as the day goes on it gets harder.3) how long are they awake for between sleeps? Anywhere frm 1 to 1.5 hrs
Overnight she will sleep anywhere from 8 hours to 11 hours just depending. She usually self settles in the night after her feed, but has been known to be a bit of a monkey during the night.
It is so hard with the day sleeps as I can't spend heaps of time on the resettle as I have a 2.5 yo, and she is just so cute and smiles at me, that I can't help but get her up!.
Ali - I would be annoyd. We had that issue with MIL with my DS< buyt now we live too far away for many people to do the drop in!
Very funny poo story - so far we have not had any poos in the bath. DS never pood in the bath, so lets hope E is the same.
Shell - I have beenb waticvhing season 4 of Jon and Kate plus Eight on Youtube. Nearly finished the season. Then I will start watching the new season that is airing in the US at the moment. (We are 1 season behind here)
Nai - I hope everything is OK and it is not the flue.
RR - I am glad that you are doing well being single.
J went to the zoo with my parent on the weekend. He now informs me that Lions eat Yogurt for Breakfast!
I am going back to the zoo in a few weeks as I am a mystery shopper. They give me free tix and I have to mystery shop0 one of the food outlets there. If anyone is interested in being a mystery shopper, let me know and I will send you the link. I mainly mystery shop Chemists, Hungry Jacks, Dominos Pizza, and Southern Ctoss Station. There are also occasional jobs for the zoo, as well as Werribee open range, and Soverign Hill. It is different for each state thoug.
