Hello all!
Was out all day yesterday with DD, went to a party with family and she got passed around everywhere!! OMG it was so annoying. And people just will not listen when I say give her back now she needs a feed/sleep they just pass her to someone else! Get lost!! And all the grubby kids were touching her and playing with her hands which she puts in her mouth. I'm paranoid about her getting sick! lol. Esp when her christening is this weekend, I don't want her to be sick. Talk about stressful!
Anyway, we finally had a good sleep last night. LOL it's like just when you think you can't go on she gives you a good night, haha. She went to bed at 7.30 and slept for almost 6hrs!! YAY!! My boobs were about to burst! But she's the same as Ash Ali, after her big sleep she's up every 2-3hrs. But at least she just feeds and goes back to sleep, phew. So I'm feeling better today.
And no way you're a bad mum Ali, DD sleeps on me all the time for every day sleep!! I can't even put her down! Well I could but she doesn't sleep for as long so I just leave her in the HAB so she can have a good sleep and she's not grumpy. It doesn't help with ppl always making comments about what you do! At the party yesterday on of my Aunties said to me 'ooooohhhhhhhhh...... you'll have to get her out of that habit' (about sleeping in the HAB) umm.. none of your business, I wasn't complaining about it or asking you to carry her around!!!! MYOB!!!!
Oh, sorry about the me post, will have to catch up on personals but DD is waking!
ETA- DD only really stays up for an hr before she's tired again. I don't know how you guys do it though if they don't sleep for longer than one sleep cycle sometimes and then they're tired again after 1hr and then they go back to sleep but haven't had a feed?? That's what I can't work out, lol, and another reason I just put her in the HAB bc when she doesn't sleep for long it messes feeds and everything up??
-
Hi all,
SJ, I've had the same thought about sleep cycles and the wake-feed-play-sleep thing. Sometimes I have attempted to put Isabel down after an hour without a feed as she just wasn't looking hungry, then she gets cranky and I end up feeding to sleep... Happened this morning... so I wrote it off and we started a new cycle when she woke at 9am, we tried again.
Sounds like Isabel, Ash and Grace are doing the same thing - a big sleep then 2hrly after that. Pity last night I had washed my PJs and sleep bra and so I couldn't go to sleep til they'd dried... Aiming tonight to go to sleep when she goes to sleep!
Nai, glad the party was a great one! 40th, its gotta be! Glad the girls behaved themselves too.
AJP - we must be having a growth spurt here too. DD is feeding two hourly over night, two-three hourly during the day. (What's with that??? Shouldn't it be the other way around?!) Also I only manage to get about an hour out of her during the day before she's rubbing eyes, disengaging and yawning. But then I put her down and ZING she's awake! Ah well. We'll get there.
Laura, hope everything is going ok. You are sounding really positive about it which is great.
Kaz - great news on weight gains and winding down the EBM top ups! RE the nappies, I'm using Tots Bots - Flexitots and Bamboozles. They are a fitted nappy that needs a cover, so I'm using a Tots Bots cover too, which has a special tape sewn round the legs and waist to contain leaks. We have only had a few leaks - one yesterday where she did a hugely watery poo while she was asleep, so it all went up her back, poor poppet! But normally even her poos are contained - they might leak out the nappy but rarely out of the cover. I love the Tots Bots range.
Tarkine - I was laughing at the booby monster "chasing" you across the bed  I think I'm off to a mums n bubs movie this week but yep its a chick flick - Ghost of Girlfriends Past. Looking forward to it!
AFM: As above, Isabel is still feeding two hourly overnight, well from whenever she wakes at around the 10pm-12am mark anyway. Off to MCHN today for weigh in - will report back once that's done. Curious to know how she is going, I think she is pretty big - wearing all double zero clothes now, even some size zero! :o
She is so talkative now - we sit and chat and chat, its gorgeous. I was singing to her before while I was getting her dressed and she started singing back at me, well trying to anyway! Like she wanted to join in. It was a very sweet moment. :D

Thanks girls for your support :)
Ali, it was my other sister who is in juvenile correction centre or whatever it's called having a rough time with the other girls, not the one in hospital!
Shell, she has court today actually, but my mum is saying that it isn't looking very favourable for her. She is a danger to herself and to others - but she needs proper help, not incarceration!
Kaz, I'm not sure what kind of help she can get inside. I spoke to her on the phone yesterday and she told me how 2 girls were arguing in the kitchen and one of them collected boiling oil from a pan into a cup and threw it in the other girls face :o These are violent people, they shouldn't even have kitchen access!
Well my youngest sister is out of hospital and we all seem to be on the mend, although DP now is complaining of feeling unwell  He refuses to take time off work though, even though I asked him to because me and L have both been really sick. I don't think he realises it would actually help ME having him around, I'm not just saying it so he can get some rest
L is smiling so much more now, it is soooo cute! He still is serious most of the time though, which is still cute! Sleeping is still crap...all over the place at the moment. He is "sleeping" right now, by that I mean he is snorting and wriggling around and making all sorts of noises. He will do that for maybe 20 minutes before he fully wakes up and starts screaming. He's done a few random long sleeps during the night, maybe 3-4 hours of solid sleep, but that's happened maybe a handful of times! I really have faith that when his nose and chest is finally clear he will sleep so much better :crossfingers:
SOrry he's crying, will be back for personals - promise!

Hi all,
I bhave been up at the hol house and just got nhome yesterday.
I have read everyones posts, but there is jut too much to catch up on so I am just going to drop a few random comments.
AJP- I really hope it isn't PND. Thinking of you.
Shell - J is being a nightmare to get to bed at night atm too.
Holly - ou have so much on your plate at the moment. I hope you are getting some "me" time.
Nai- Glad the 40th went well.
OP - Have a good time at mums and bubs. Which cinema are you going to?
Heaven - Someone always has an opinion on what you are doing wrong when raising kids don't they??!!
E is still only sleeping about 40 mins during the day. I have started using the dummy much more and sometines it will get her through another sleep cycle. Just nor sure how I will go with the whole weaning her off it in the future. J never had one, so not sure how it will go.
Last night she fed at 3am and then didn't want to go back to sleep. Popped the dummy in, and she slept till 9am this morning. So it works for her. I just don't want to end up getting up all night to put it back in.
J has wated a heap of TV today as I have been trying to catch up on some housework. Must take him to the park this arvo.
-
AJP, Nai and OP - thanks for your suggestions on the exploding/leaky nappy issue. I think part of the problem is that he throws himself around in his sleep a lot so the covers get pulled down over the nappy and the inserts in the pockets I'm using also move down allowing the evil wetness to travel north!
AJP - I've got a motherease cover - not sure what type - has all the animals on it? Even that leaks poo although not as badly as some others.
Nai - It doesn't look like the Fuzibunz are still available via the HoneyChild website but thanks anyway.
OP - Where did you get your Tots Bots from? It looks like a UK company - did you order direct?
Holly - Jacob does the same thing when sleeping! I don't think he has the same nose/chest problem as L but he is regularly throwing himself around and grumbling loudly in his sleep now. Seems to do it more when he's unsettled generally but it's hard to know what to do. Sometimes he will settle and stay asleep and other times he will wake himself up and start crying a nanosecond later  I'm thinking of your sister today darl and I hope court went favourably for her. Sounds like she needs hospitalisation more than gaol (I hope that doesn't offend you!) - at least there she could get some 'treatment' and be less likely to be exposed to the kind of violence and ongoing, background intimidation of gaol.
Meg - Don't worry too much about the dummy. Whatever works. She will only use it while she needs it and may start rejecting soon anyway. If it makes you feel any better, I've been known to occasionally use the dummy during feeds with Jacob. Sometimes its the only thing that will calm him down and regulate his breathing enough to get him to re-attach and continue feeding.
Hi to everyone else!!
On the subject of sleep again, Jacob has done nothing but sleep today after a reasonably difficult night - he has started feeding every 3 hours (round the clock it seems) and was unsettled during and after the night feeds last night. Today, although he is still screaming during feeds, he hasn't been awake more than about 45 -60 mins. Keeps just going straight to sleep after each feed. Wonder how long it will last?
-
Ok - I just need to share. Not long after I posted J woke up. ( spoke too soon). I changed his nappy straight away. It was probably about 2:50pm. Then fed from 3-3:30pm. Then I had to run up main street to go to the post office (to collect fluffy mail ironically!). I considered changing his nappy but decided to do it when we got back home and before putting him down again. Anyway, we got back home about 3:50pm - so he's been in the nappy about an hour. He did the most massive sounding poo I think the neighbours heard it  When I went to change him, he'd soaked right through the nappy and the cover (Maz cover) right in the middle of his butt  No leaks out the top or the legs, just straight through the bum. And parts of the nappy were still dry so it's not like the thing was completely soaked yet.
What am I doing wrong girls??
On the upside, I just got more nappies :hooray: plus a heap of material, including PUL and bamboo fleece and a pattern and I'm gunna make my own pockets and covers and keep at it until I find something that contains the mess!! I don't mind the nappy looking like a war zone but when that stuff escapes out, it's all kinds of wrong!!
-
kaz id say your getting compression leaks with the fleece, same can happen with wool longies/shorties etc.. id stick to pul until jacob is moving around rolling etc..
i have some tots bots gussetted covers if you like to borrow them?? let me know and i'll send them to you!
BB tonight for personals
-
-
gorgeous Laura!!!
Hope things have been going okay for you, the first couple of weeks will prb be a bit of a blur.
Holly- sorry i got it wrong. I hope all went well today.
Kaz- Cant help with the nappies but sounds like a poop- explosion!!! You poor thing! Maybe you can ask Maz for some tips as well. I want to see a photo of DS!!
OP- i havent done the mum & bub movie thing yet. Would like to soon though.
Heaven- Our girls really are similar! Sleep was the same last night. If i wasnt co-sleeping I think i would be even more of a zombie! I hear you on people wanting to have their 10cents on how you raise your own baby. My mum was like get her in the cot for al her sleeps (she has no idea that we even co-sleep) I think she would have a heartattack and even though I love her to bits I dont think she would be impressed if she knew that we co-sleep. It is hard isnt it.
AFM- Well DD was better at her tummy time today. Lasted alot longer than she normally does. I have been noticing she has a bit of that 'cradle cap" What do i put on it to make it go away?
ALso I have DD's hands in mittens alot as they always see to be freezing cold. Is this bad? I dont want to restrict her finger movement but they always seem icecold without mittens.
ETA- Here is a photo of DD when we were away having cuddles with me. https://www.bellybelly.com.au/forums...3&ppuser=15125
-
Ali- I've started using paw paw cream for the cradle crap, just rub it in then wash it off next day, cleared up really fast. Its good when the dads get time with them, not just for bonding but the whole seeing what hard work we do.
Meg- I'm not even going to worry bout the weaning off dummy yet, had to wean Ash off the breast overnight at about 12 months so think it'd prolly be a similar thing cause she was using it for comfort.
Holly- How did your sister go? Could her lawyer make a deal for her to be hospitalised rather than incarcerated? I'm just assuming that its mental illness related. I hope they sort things out.
OP- I love their little baby talk chats, I can sit for ages doing it, thats if Ashleigh allows me!
SJ- I have been trying to work out the exact same problem! I always find I have to feed Em earlier than she actually needs cause otherwise she'll be ready for a feed when she is asleep and not sleep well, drives me nuts. Now she is staying awake abit longer its working out a bit better.
AJP- I hear you on big sisters, I feel like broken record, Ash has a habit of scaring her or squeling in her face. She knows she's not to do it but keeps doing it.
Have had chat with Df and he is going to make more effort with everything and not take me for granted so time will tell.
-
Well I do have DD1's cold and have been coughing all day - Grrr! I hope Miss J doesn't get it.
I was just reading in the Wonder Weeks book that they say for the first few months baby boys take up more of their mother's time than baby girls do as they tend to cry more and sleep less. I'm not sure how true it is but it might make some of you feel a bit better - it should get better after the 12 week mark. Probably doesn't help those of you with fussy girls though - sorry :D
-
Shell, I hope DF does make an effort
-
Hmmm - Interesting Nai. I think J took more time than E has, but maybe that's coz I am busies, and E has no choice but to wait,
Shell - I really hope that he does make more of an effort.
E slet till 5am last night, then again till 9am. Fingers crossed it is the start of a good night sleep routine. Still hopeless during the day though....
-
Hi everyone - I hope you're as well as can be.
AliBaby - I know what you mean about the cold hands (and feet too!) I think I read somewhere that is good for them to have their feet and hands free as much as possible to explore different textures/objects etc.
ShellBell3 - thanks for the cradle cap tip. I might have to start doing that.
Nai - get better soon!
Kaz - I've been having the same containment issues with both my cotton/bamboos (with PUL and wool covers) and biodegradable disposables. Although Posy hasn't done a proper poo for 4 days. Looking forward to the explosion that's inevitably going to occur soon!
-
Shell- thanks for the tip with the paw paw cream I tried it last night and it looks heaps better already. I hope DP pulls his socks up for you. He needs to for you and the girls.
Nai- How are you feeling today? Hope the cold is getting better  I have heard it has been freezing down in Melbourne so rug up and stay indoors. Its prob hard to get to gym as well when you feel like crapola.
AJP- How are you feeling? Hope you are getting some rest.
Kaz- How is WW going? We (so far) have ben really lucky with disposables and havent had a poopsplosion yet. I love the look of the MCNs but I havent gone down that route yet.
Megie- That is awesome sleep from E! Well done. I hope she does that again for you tonight!
Mhami- thanks for the tips on the hands and feet. Will have to make sure the room is warmer I think so DD can explore more with them.
Laura- how have you been the last couple of days?
AFM- Well I have had enough of the way that I look. I had a massive cry about it this morning. I have started a blog for my weightloss journey. i am to late for the 12week challenge but want to do it for longer than that anyway. I have never been this big and I am so unhappy in myself. Feel free to follow my blog. I am going to post in it regularly and put my results in it, etc.
I just need to do something.
DD is good. Still sleeping the same but its not to bad. DP not going to work tonight for the second job so I will be looking forward to spending time with him and DD as a family.
Hi to everyone else. Hope you are all well :grouphug:
-
Ali - also good to wash their hands under running water - another textual experience.
Sorry wrote a post and lost it Grrr!
Bubs is not being very cooperative at the moment...
Take care girls!!
-
I think we're having the 12 week wonder week, last couple days she just been more unsettled, wanting more cuddles that sort thing.
I just waiting for more sleep at night seems to get shorter and shorter everynight. I try settle her with dummy and that might stretch it an extra hour but thats it.
I'm going to start giving 10pm formula feed see if that helps, hope she takes bottle cause haven't given her one for weeks now.
-
arrhhh too tired to post
took millie to swimming today she loved it, i think i have another fish on my hands!!
she had some awesome sleeps in the past 24 hours :o
-
Hi girls
Quick hi as it is late... should be in bed...
Kaz - I get my Tots Bots from a shop called Cotton Bottom, google them you should find them. Have you thought of an all in one with a PUL cover? Tots Bots just released one that my sister uses, she loves it. Might stop the cover pulling down over the nappy as its an AIO. Good luck hun...
It takes some experimenting to get it right, doesn't it??
Have read everything else but too tired to comment sorry.
I just bought some cute stuff from GAP for Isabel, one of my friends is bringing it home for me. Yay!
Hope everyone is well... post more in morning...
-
E had a bit of a rough night last night. Up at 1:30 to 3, then awake again at 4, and again at 6. She just woke again now, so better go
-
Meg - must have been the night for it cause Jacob had a bit of a shocker last night too, although it was more in the evening than overnight. Hope you can get a nap in today hun.
Ali - Good on you for starting a blog. It will help keep you motivated and accountable (something I struggle with!). WW is good, some days I'm better than others and the weather atm is making exercise difficult but so far (since 1st May) I've lost 4.3kg (by my scales at home) and some of my pre-preg clothes are fitting again :hooray: I've put all mat clothes but my preg jeans away finally. Will weigh in tonight at the meeting if I make it out of the house! It's at 5:30-6:30pm, the worst possible time for a new mum to get out of the house! Oh, we had poo-splosions out of disposables too when we were changing over to cloth!
OP - I just received some AIOs in the mail actually and tried one on J last night. He didn't leak but there wasn't any poo either. Still, it's promising because a lot of his leaks are just wee. I've also pre-washed my BBH wool covers the required 5 or 6 times now :o and they've been good the last couple of nappy changes too. It is trial and error. Thanks for the tip on where to buy tots bots. I've heard of Cotton Bottom.
mhami - 4 days :o OMG I can't imagine what that would be like when it finally comes out! I've been told it's normal to go a week to 10 days if breastfed. We've had containment issues since Jacob starting going 2-3 nappy changes without a poo! I shudder to think what the outcome would be if he went more than a day! Good luck with that change when it happens.
Shell - sending you a big  darl. Em sounds like hard work atm. One piece of advice I've been given which I thought was great (but can't follow myself) is to stop thinking about how much sleep you're getting/not getting. So stop adding up the hours and doing the maths. Just sleep when you can for as long as you can and don't watch the clock. No matter how much sleep we get right now, it's never going to be enough. I think this would be awesome if I could actually do it  I am still tending to work out how much I'm getting but trying hard not to.
AJP - Slow down darl!! Sleep more. If you can't sleep with Sophie, rest at least.
Hi to everyone else!! Anyone seen Det round recently? She hasn't posted in a while and her last posts indicated extreme sleep deprivation. Hopefully she's just way to busy to get on here.
AFM - J's feeding like crazy atm. 10 feeds on Monday and then this was yesterdays effort: 2am; 7am; 10:30am; 12:30pm; 3pm; 5pm; 7pm; 8pm; 9pm; 10pm; 12am !! He woke again at 1:45am and I put the dummy in to buy some time to go to the loo and wash my hands etc and he had fallen asleep when I got back. I lay down and he didn't wake again until 3:45am so not too bad. We've never fed hourly before but nothing else would settle him.
-
hey kaz- still here- still sleep deprived lol
been reading but havent had the chance to write- levi has decided that bed time is anywhere between 9.30pm and midnite- and then i have to start my work! So been going to bed at least at 2am every nite and up again at 7 for the twins to get ready for school!
all going good here - had 3 nites where Levi has slept through but last nite- well lets just say - another growth spurt??
ah well
Boof has been growing heaps- just when you thought his cheeks couldnt get chubbier- they do!!! He is soo vocal now as well.
Went to Queenscliff for the weekend with the fam- with money i inherited from my nan- was really nice to be altogether as a family with no paperwork to do- but had to work our butts off before we went and were so tired when we got there lol
Levi still hates the car- so we had to stop a few times for him to compose himself!
and of course for feeds- mind you it was only a two hour car trip- poor starving boy!
grr- he wants another feed so off again- mind you he had one an hour ago
ITS A PHASE!!!!
mwah to all
-
det sounds like your burningh that short candle at both ends too!!
hope levi starts going the bed earlier soon!!
kaz let me know if you want to borrow some covers!
i meet up some good BB friends today! was lovely, went to a playcentre and the kids ran around like made and we got to have coffee!!
meg wow that was a bad night
op those covers sound great!
BBS need to read back a page..
-
Hi girls,
Just thought I'd let you all know I might not be posting for a bit. A good friend of mine and dp's passed away suddenly on Monday night. He was one of dp's best friends. I've never ever seen dp cry before. L has been really unsettled as usual so I'm a bit overwhelmed and on my own atm, as dp is not really able to help much.
Anyway, just thought I'd let you all know. Hope you're all well :)
xox
-
oh no holly  you've had a rough couple of weeks. thinking of you and dp
-
So sorry to hear of your DP's friends death Holly. That is really sad. Look after yourselves
-
 Holly, I'm sorry to hear about your friend. Take care of yourself and DP.
I've still got a cold and now DD1 has hurt her ankle. It has swollen up and I can't get her to the Dr until tomorrow :( I'm am just crossing my fingers that Miss J doesn't get this cold as she is a little bit snuffly.
-
nai we have the snuffles here too, DH has a cold, i have a sore throat,DD1 is coughing and millie has a watery eye and is sneezing
-
well i could be in for an interesting night  sophie went to bed with a temp and most unhappy and millie still sneezing! she just woke but i think has gone back to sleep, hope i get some sleep tonight..oh and DH has been snoring with his cold yay...
-
Hi girls, sorry for selfish post. Not feeling the best. DD had had a bit of an up and down day and we have been trapped inside with all of this rain. Last night she was so miserable for about between 1 and 2pm screaming at me, Nothing would comfort her, Tried boob, dummmy, bouncing, patting. Ended up holding her really tight with dummy in her mouth but she wouldnt let me put her down (even next to me). She then slept 6 hours.
Today same with this screaming and hitting me when she is on the boob. Maybe its wind? I dont know. Felt a bit overwhemled as she normally is happy. She is has been asleep for the last 4 hours in her bouncer though. I am starting to notice some patterns with sleep now (but not in the day).
To top it off, I think my AF is on its way. :( Here I am thinking that I will be one of those lucky ones that doesnt get it back for 12months :(
Feel blah....
Sorry for the me post. Will be back tomorrow hopefully in a better mood :crossfingers:
-
Holly - sorry to hear your going through a rough patch  My sympathies for your loss.
Ali - hang in there sweetie, it is just a phase
det - LOL at Levi wanted so many stops on a 2hr trip. I can't really laugh coz Alex would want a feed before I put him in the car seat, when I took him out, when I took him out of the pram (to go back in the car seat) and when I got him home and each of the feeds would take 30-40 minutes so it took forever to go anywhere!
Nai -
AJP
Ahh heck everyone :grouphug:
I'm not saying anything because Mr A is doing ok at the moment. Ohh I'm still waiting for the pram I put on laybe in January.. Although for the past month they keep telling me its coming next week - LOL!! I'm going to put a nappy launcher on the front of the car and go and pound their shop with dirty nappies!!
-
Nai and AJP - Hop eyou girls got some sleep last night and that your households are feeling better this morning!
Ali - Sorry you had a rough day darl. I know how you feel with the screaming and hitting you during feeds  Hope A has a better day today and that AF nicks off for another 10 months!!
Tarkine - Good to hear that A is doing well. WTF on your pram?? How could it take so long? Did you order the gold plated model? LOL at flying dirty nappies! I'd pay to see that
AFM - We're off to our first parents group this morning!! :crossfingers: Of course, J slept in til 8am too  so I'd better go or I'll be running late!! How do you avoid getting bubs wet in this weather? It is truly evil out there and I'm not sure how to get him in and out of the car and pram without him getting a face full of wind and rain :(
-
Well, I had a reasonable sleep (Miss J slept well but I woke up coughing all night) but I am still feeling crook. DD1 is much better and her ankle doesn't hurt anymore so I got to cancel her Dr. appointment which I'm glad about. I can sit around in my pj's and not do anything.
Kaz, does your capsule have a hood? Mine has one that I can pull right down over Miss J's face to stop her getting wet. Otherwise put a wrap over his head while transferring?
Tarkine - WTF with your pram?? I would be doing more than launching dirty nappies at them. I would tell them that one of their staff needs to be with you 24hrs a day to carry him around for you whenever you want to go somewhere!! Surely they could have at least lent you a pram until yours came in? That is just ridiculous - I mean A is 3 months old FFS!
Ali - I hope it's not AF :( But if it is then it can chenage the taste of your milk and often babies don't like that. So if it is AF that might be why Ash is cranky - she doesn't like the flavour change.
Jols - I hope you are doinmg ok today and the family is on the mend.
Mhami - you are pretty close to Clifton Hill -have you seen any panic around the swine flu stuff?
-
hey girls
another quickie and selfish post for me- levi snoozing on my lap !
Levi had his circumcision today- so glad that is done!!!
he had it done under GA and they also gave him a chordal epi as well
he woke up crying but not in pain and no tears- he was hungry!! LOL
as soon as i put him on BB he was fine and was then smiling at everybody
he isnt in any pain- just a bit out of sorts due to the drugs they give them i think- he is sleeping heaps as well.
just keeping it quiet today but DH just gone off to pick up the twins from school - so there goes that!!!!
bit tired as been up today since 4.30am and went to bed at 2am. his last feed had to be finished by 5am and we had to be there by 7am - ah well hopefully get some zzzz tonite!
mwah
-
Hi girls, Sorry this is a me, me, me post - oh and a bit of Ashlyn ;)
Well I am not sure what is going on with AF. It seems to not be here anymore? Having a couple of cramps. I am so confused. Okay TMI but I thought she was coming yesterday as I had a bit of oldish looking blood when I wiped after the loo but now nothing! I better not be UTD again! Anyway I am happy for AF to stay away but not for the reason that I am pregnant!
Well Ashlyn slept pretty well last night. Still doing this crying and hitting me at feeds. It seems to be after the first 4 minutes the frustration starts. I have been changing her to the other side when this happens and she is okay for another 4minutes before the hitting and crying starts and then I stick the dummy in. I still have heaps of milk. Just another thing I am so confused about!
Had my oldest friend come round today. Havent seen her since my baby shower. It really put me in a good mood. Been friends since we were 7 through club netball then we went to high school together. SHe is one of those friends where you can not see them for months and then you just pick up right where you left off from. None of this 'you havent called me crapola'.
We have also had the termite men here today since 7am! And they are coming again on Monday. They have been drilling and been walking in the roof and under the house. The dogs have been going nuts! Hopefully it will get rid of all the termites.
BBL for personals. At home alone again tonight as DP is at work again. Cant wait for the weekend to have him around again. I love rainy day cuddles!
-
Det - Hope you get some more sleep tonight darl!
Nai - I'm sorry you're still feeling crook. Hopefully J will give you a few more better nights of sleep so you can fight it off! Glad that Gs ankle is better.
Ali - How confusing about your AF. I hope it's just some random thing and doesn't mean you're UTD and doesn't mean AF is back. Evil witch!! With the screaming and hitting - Jacob has been doing the same thing for weeks. He does it worse in the afternoon/evenings - I think when my supply is lowest for the day and/or he is most tired. I have also been told that it could be due to my milk flow rate - so it's flowing too slowly for him I think. He is always good for the first 5-7 mins on either side too and then gets fussy and frustrated. There is nothing you can do about your flow unfortunately. Maybe now A is getting bigger and more efficient at drinking, she is draining you faster and then the flow slows down and she gets frustrated? Ahh, I don't really know darl, except that you're not alone. I also have to put the dummy in during or after feeds to calm him down as he seems to want to suck but not drink sometimes. I've kind of come to accept that this is just how Jacob feeds and I may never work it out. Hopefully for A it's just a stage and she goes back to her happy self soon or like Nai suggested it has to do with flavour changes because your AF is mucking around and she'll get used to it soon. Whoohoo on catching up with old friends though. Always good.
AFM - the parents group went ok except I was a bit late because Jacob wee'd through his nappy right after I put it on :wall: I also got teary when talking about my birth experience which was a bit of a shock because I thought I had dealt with it enough to discuss it in general terms but obviously not! Feel a bit embarrassed to have been upset in front of total strangers because I'm normally a pretty private, self protective person. On a brighter note, Jacob loved looking at all the other bubbas and he even fed well! He's been asleep now for 2 hours :o Unheard of in the afternoon (he was awake all morning though).

Kaz- thanks for the advice. You are doing so well on your weightloss. It must have been hard for you teling everyone about your birth experience   and more
Det- All that paperwork sounds exhausting! Glad you got a break from it. Glad DS got through his circumsision ok today. Is he really drowsy now after the anaesthetic?
Tarkine- I cant believe you havent got your pram yet!!! I'd be asking for a discount or a voucher for the stall as they have mucked you around so much!
Jols & Nai- get better soon girls. It is hard once it goes round the family.
Holly- Sorry to hear about the passing of yours and DP's friend
Heaven- Hope the christening goes well. Is it this weekend?
Shell- how are you?

Nai - get better soon. No signs of swine flu panic round here though it does make you a bit wary. DH and I actually went for lunch in a Clifton Hill cafe today and took bubs. So obviously we're not too paranoid!
AB- Posy was doing the same thing to me some weeks back. I rang the ABA hotline for advice and the told me pretty much the same thing as Kaz - lower milk supply/slower let down in the arvo and evening. They advised an afternoon nap to help promote milk production (hormones are released when you sleep), but as you all know that's easier said than done! Also, babies get progressively tired through the day even though they have naps. So they get frustrated more easily. Maybe go see a GP regarding the blood, etc. or call the maternal and child health line. I'm not sure what to expect when AF returns.
HollyM - take care love.
Posy woke during the night for a feed for the first time in a month. Doh! She seems incredibly hungry at the moment. Big growth spurt coming up maybe.
Have a good weekend everyone.

Thanks mhami. How many hours straight through does Posy normally sleep at night?
