Hi hun, I had never heard of Abbotsbury, will look up how far away it is. Maitland is a fair way away as well. It is probably 2 and a half hours. Kaz doesnt live near there either
Had a shocking night last night. Up every 1.5 to 2hrs. DD is asleep now has been since 9am so I have only just got out of bed. So tired.
Had plan for today but have just cancelled them all as no good taking Ashlyn out when she is sick and I am to tired to think. A stay at home day sounds good.
Miss J screamed until 9pm last night and then she finally slept until 4.30am so I had a bit of a sleep. She then slept until 8.45am and seems much happier today. I think it was her needles yesterday
Megie - I don't think WW is expensive (Kaz is the one to ask) but I haven't actually joined yet, I'm just doing it solo. My next door neighbour is also doing it so I can ask her questions as well.
MM - Weight Watchers? I thought you looked smashing the other day when we met up. If the other babies are sleeping through the night it doesn't mean it will be a permanent thing! Posy did a good stint of sleeping through for a couple of weeks but I've been getting up every night around 3.30 for the last month.
Det - My book is a history of Australian 1940s and 50s pin-up girls - lots of good pictures and stories. It looks like the publisher is really interested - but I'm not celebrating until the contract is signed! Yay to Boof's big feeds!
Holly - Glad to hear something is happening with the ENT. You must have nearly cried when they said you had the wrong Monday. We're auctioning our house on 15 August. But nowhere to move to as of yet! We'll find somewhere good though I'm sure - hopefully in the West Preston, Thornbury area.
Alibaby - hope you have a better night tonight. Sounds like the fess drops are a tricky business. I would find it hard to do too.
Posy had her 4 month vacc's yesterday. All went well. Her MCHN check-up was last week - she weighed 6.6 kg and was 65 cm long.
Ali - ahh i hate when the little ones are sick!!! that fess stuff is great, hopefully you will be able to get A to sit still for 2 seconds! i hope she gets better soon xx and i hope you have a better night tonight!
Pinny - I might have to check out that book! thanks! im not sure what to do with that lump sorry!!
AJP- Oh! vapourisors are my best friend!!
OP - i'll join you with being a bad belly buddy thats why im starting fresh!! hope your going ok
Holly - that was good of them to fit you in! fingers crossed for no surgery xx
Meg - i love jon and kate plus 8!! hope your doing ok too xx
Nai - i hope you get some rest too xx
Has anyone heard from NZgirl? i hope she is doing ok!!
AFM, nothing new here i have bellas 4 month needles and check up this week (late yes i know )
Talk soon xxx
Holly- Must be some relief to see something is happening to help him. Its great they squeezed you in. Hopefully they'll come up with there action plan to treat it and it'll be a distant memory.
mhami- That sounds interesting, we'll all have to pop the bubbly when you sign the contracts. What made you decide to write a book on that area? Has it always been an interest to you?
Nai- How is J today?
RR- Its a pain trying to find items close to home. I had to look for a few months to get my adventure buggy, had to wait til was nearby then had to wait to see if I could win it.
Meg- Hope she sleeps better tonight. Is it her nose bothering her?
We have our mchn friday arvo. Be interesting to see her weight cause not weighed her since 8 weeks.
We're onto bottles all during day now and just breastfeed at bedtime and when she wakes in the night, finding it works well for us and she is alot happier in the day too, not looking for the boob every 2.5 hrs, was just exhausting feeding her that often.
Lewis has had a bad day of sleeping, we had mum's group in morning and he slept in my arms for the hour and then would only cat nap the rest of the day. He normally sleeps so well during the day, I'm hoping this doesn't make the night routine terrible he only normally wakes twice so will be interesting to see.
shell- let us know how you go on friday, we have our check on thursday, I can't wait either!!
Rainbow & mhami- seems like the week for check ups and needles!
Nai & meg- Hope you had a better day & night tonight
Just a quick poke my head in - got a mountain of dishes to do!
Had mum's group today at the lovely Det's house - got to meet The Ferals and also Mr Det She was a great hostess to us all! Isabel and Levi were holding hands on the floor - LOL - we took photos
Isabel's sleeping is still a bit broken, she's back to doing 3-4hrs over night but then this morning happily went 5hrs without a feed and only fed because I offered it. Whereas overnight, if I'm not too zonked I'll try resettling, patting and/or dummy, but she just wants to feed. She does that real "nyar nyar nyar" cry, IYKWIM, that just means "FEED ME!"
But 3-4hrs is so much better than 1-2 so I shouldn't complain.
Sorry for no personals... I should be going to bed... Its my niece's 1st birthday tomorrow so prob won't be on til Thurs, will try and catch up then!
RR- what type of double pram are you after- i have two here- one might be suitable for you and i can courier it to you if it is
let me know- i have a childcare twin shopper and a fitnesswise double as well that i have been meaning to sell but havent got around to them - let me know- i can send pics/specs etc
have a great day with a the girls from MG here - OP makes the BEST muffins - so much so that DS1 wants 'the list' so he can make them himself
Ali- what was the J&K thing like- i heard it mentioned by then went in to clean the toilet (like you do that late at nite) and after i came out it was over !! GRR its not surprising that they split up -75% of couples that have muliple births split up !!! How scary is that!!
Mind you over 50% of the general population now split- it scary!! Just these last few months my BIL split from his wife and now my mum and dad split last week as well! They would have been married 40 years this year- prettty sad hey!
Pinny mum- hope you get a good nite sleep tonite!!!
Shell- glad the boob/bottle combo is working for you! WHOOT! GL at the h/centre
Vapourisers- we have a couple- Vicks one is OK- but noisy, but the other one we have is silent and works a treat- I can find out what brand it is- just cant be bothered moving at the moment- i think that i cost like $50
Glad you are going well on WW Nai- as i eat a piece of cheesecake for dinner- oops!
i am OUTTA here- buggerd as we finished cleaning up last nite at 2.30am!! Might get into bed before 1am tonite- treat myself
NITE
Well miss Emily slept for 2.5 hrs this morn without having to be resettled at all! I had to go check her make sure she ok.
Took Ash to indoor playcentre and don't think she had much fun, got lost inside the play part and crying not knowing how to get back down, then already being sensitive from that another girl pushed her over, thankfully the girls mum was really nice and made her apologise.
Nights still annoying now the prob is the dummy, wakes looking for it, I think I need to get rid of it but I'm just too tired to have sleepless nights while we try get her off it, yet I won't get much sleep if I keep getting woken! Vicious circle.
Det- You make me laugh! Cleaning late at night, I'm starting to think you're a vampire or something.
OP- Sometimes its easier just to give them what they want isn't it. Keep looking on bright side that it is better than the 1-2hrs and bit by bit she'll stretch it out. DD1 was still waking 3hrly at 6 months but look at her now an excellent sleeper so it all paid off.
Pinny- did he end up going ok overnight? Hope you have good appt tomor.
Well its going to be a very interesting night here I think. Had a busy day out today so DD only had her morning sleep (2hrs) and then 2 catnaps of about 30min So when we got home at 3:30 I put her down. Took until 4:15 for her to self settle but she wasnt upset. Well I tried to wake her gently by turning on the light and talking to her in her room at about 6pm and she opened her eyes ad then closed them again, so I left her. At 7pm she was still asleep sucking on the dummy so I turned out the light. FIgure that she must need sleep after being sick this week. She only just woke up at 8:30 for a feed ad has gone straight back to sleep!!!!
I am really hoping that this doesnt mean that she is going to want to have a party at 3am!!! We will have to wait and see what happens....
Megie- How was last night? The night before sounds like a shocker! Nai- So proud of you with your efforts on weight watchers. I am going to look at the calorie king website. Mhami- Hopefully Posy goes back to sleeping through for you. Raver- Dont worry about personals if you cant do them, jsut good to hear from you and hear how your travelling. Have you decided about moving yet? Shell- So glad you've sorted the feeding thing out and found something that is working well for both of you. You are doing a great job Pinny- Interested to know what happened with L's sleep last night as it might give me an idea of what to expect tonight! Hope it went well and both he and you had a decent sleep. OP- that is great you are working out her cries adn what they mean and also that her sleep is improving. Det- so sorry your mum dad split. Hope it is still amicable. Everyone in my family is divorced, parents, uncles & Aunties, grandparents and DP's family as well! The J&K thing was basically a re-cap of everything that has been said in the media. I have seen itrepeated a few times so you might be able to catch it when it is on again. Thanks for the tip on the good vaporiser to get.
I have dishes to do and clothes to fold and put away but am being lazy on the couch. Going to watch The Hills in 10min and then do some housework then maybe a soak in the bath (may even shave my legs ) and then bed! I bet thats just in time for Ashlyn to wake up for a party!
Thanx for the book info - might have a look in the library/bookstore for the JP books.
Alex doesn't sleep during the day unless he's on me, so I don't know anything about sleep cycles - night time he sleeps with 0-4 wakes (depending on some magical thing I haven't figured out yet). So to get him to nap during the day, I have to cuddle him - I've found if I don't do this, then he doesn't sleep at night.
I'm going to find a new mums and bubs group - I've been hanging onto this group to see if its going to improve but alas no luck...
sorry I'm a slacker with no real personals.. just feeling really blah at the moment.
Ali - How did Ash go last night? They say sleep promotes sleep so hopefully you had a good one!
Nai - Forgot to say before but WHOOHOO on the weight loss. That's a great start darl, esp since you're doing it by yourself. Somebody mentioned WW cost? I think I pay somewhere around $16-18 per week and they deduct it automatically monthly. Can cancel at any time. Hope that Juliette has settled down after her needles.
Shell - I can't begin to imagine what life would be like without the dummy in this house. No wonder you are hesitating. How do you wean them off it? Is it gradual or a cold turkey thing?
OP - Glad that Isabel is sleeping longer between feeds at night. I reckon Shells right - you've done the hardest yards and it should improve from here. Jacob seems to be going backwards in that he is now waking more frequently and has gone from 5-6 hours to 3-4 hours. I keep thinking of you and reminding myself that it won't last and that you've had it much worse!!
Tarkine - The other authors I'd recommend are Tim Winton and Helen Garner. They are awesome writers and two of my faves! Sorry that your MG isn't working out. I hope you find a better one soon.
Better go, the little man sounds like he's awake - yesterday he slept for 3 hours in the morning then backed it up with another hour and then onto the 40min naps. I'm taking the dog to the vet this morning for X-rays. Her liver tumour that they removed around this time last year might be back She's lost heaps of weight again.
Hope everyone is keeping well thru this miserable weather! Well in Melb anyway!
Kaz - Wow, a three hour sleep! Hope your puppy is ok hun
Tarkine, def find a new MG if yours isn't working out. I love going to mine because it makes me feel better about all the issues I'm having - the other girls have been thru it all too. Don't feel slack, we all understand.
Ali - how was your night? Did you have a pahtee at 3am?? Don't talk to me about washing and dishes! I have just done several mountains of both! Agh!
Shell, thanks for the words of encouragement. There's lots that have it worse than me - I feel bad complaining at MG because there's a 6mth bub there who has never slept for longer than 2hrs. NEVER. Imagine that
Det - I'll scan and email you the recipe Glad you liked them. Maybe I'm not such a bad cook after all.
Pinny, how is L sleeping? I hope his messed up day didn't affect the night too much!
AFM - Home day for me and Isabel today. Managed to get a 40min sleep out of her at 9.30am but then she did almost 2hrs when I put her down at about quarter to 12. So that's good! We were going to meet DH for lunch but decided to stay home, we've been out so much recently during the day that I think it is affecting her sleeping during the day.
We're off to get our 4mth needles tomorrow. How has everyone else's bubs reacted to them? I'm a bit worried as she was really unhappy after the 2mth jabs and we've got my niece's bday party on Sat, 50 people at my sister's house. Worried that she'll be grumpy cranky pants all day! No good!
Can someone fill me in on this Jon and Kate thing? Never heard of it!!!
Last night Ashlyn woke up at 11:30pm for a feed, took 2 hours to get back to sleep then it felt like she was feeding off me all night!!!
I am a bit zonked today and she has been a cranky bear today. Has been sleeping since 2:45 about to get her up now as I am not going to have another night like last night! Will get her up for a feed, bath then bed.
Tomorrow we are having a home day to get sleep back on track and also my housework back on tracK!
OP - Alex reacted a bit stronger than the first round of needles - he had a bit of a temperature, gave him some infants panadol and he was right the next day... he was sleepy during the day and wanted a booby fest. They say that bubs will have a stronger reaction to the first round of needles - because they have some of it in their system.
Jon and Kate are the Gosling family in the US - there is a TV show Jon and Kate plus 8 - twins plus sextuplets. I saw them on Oprah and Kate said the second time she was pregnant, she wanted to knwo what it was like to have one baby - and they were devastated when the ultrasound showed 7 sacs (6 took).. their beliefs didn't allow for selective reduction (and I wouldn't have been able to do that anyway). HTH
The other family which I watch as encouragement (when I think I'm having a rough day with one) is the Duggars - 18 kids, the eldest is married and his wife is expecting, and the Duggars had a baby in December (and will probably have more!)
Kaz - my MIL conveniently dropped the dummy down the back of a dressing table, where her child could see the dummy but not reach it - he eventually gave up tryign to reach it
